Unofficial Poll - Interface color in v3

How about we close this thread?
Microsoft has said that they heard us and there will be at least one other interface option (use system colors) in the upcoming service pack.
Since I have seen a few blog comments from people who do like the new interface colors I thought I'd start an informal poll here to see what the community thinks.
If you like the new interface say "yeah".
If you dislike the new interface say "nay".
Feel free to start a new paragraph after your vote if you have something to add to your vote.

Being a nearly sixty-one something, my eyes are no longer perfect, either. To my mind, the key word is User in 'User Interface'. As such, I believe we as 'users' should have control over major elements of a UI, or, at a minimum, choices from a range of UI color schemes that enhances our productivity.
I'd like to upgrade to EW3; the cost is attractive, and there are some nice features that would prove useful. Howvever, I'll hang tough until a service pack is released with choices of UI color scheme included (hopefully soon).
I appreciate that Paul, Anna, and the other MS folks are keeping in touch with us here and are answering questions and listening to our feedback. Thanks, you all.

I agree, in both cases. The upgrade has a few attractive features, and the upgrade price is reasonable. However, it doesn't bring anything notable to the table which actually adds significantly to productivity compared with EW2. Rather reminds me of the XP/Vista dichotomy, with many people seeing XP as "good enough," and not seeing enough value-add in Vista to make it worth the price, and some things about Vista that they actively disliked.
The addition of Design and Encoder does sweeten the pot for some users, but for that kind of thing I use Adobe Design Premium CS4, so it's not so much of an incentive to me. Still, there is just enough there there that, absent the issue with the interface, I would probably upgrade as soon as it becomes actually available. Unfortunately, we're not "absent the issue with the interface," so I'll be hanging on with EW2, which I still find quite productive, enough so that I use it primarily, in preference to Dreamweaver CS4. Like you, when the SP comes out with something done about the interface, then I'll probably jump aboard.
Also, I do appreciate the fact that the MS folks are at least listening to our concerns and passing them along. It gives one hope that all is not lost with this version, and that we may see our concerns addressed at some point in time.

I'm kind of feeling the opposite about how well Microsoft is listening. We were talking about the same bugs more than a year ago that we are discussing now. I believe that Microsoft is aware of the problems, but whatever the reason the bugs aren't fixed, it's not good. I've canceled my upgrade for now, and I can't help feeling very disappointed with the way things are going. Expression Web is actually one of my favorite applications. The problem with the blurry text in the drop down menus is really the unforgivable deal breaker for me. Compare EW2 to EW3 and it's one of those moments where you wonder if the people who make this application have actually used it. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but this was an ocassion where I really wondered about it.
I don't dislike the black color scheme personally to tell the truth, but I prefer to have the option of changing it and I consider it a strangely poor decision, similar to the mess that was Vista. The bugs that haven't been fixed since EW 1 causes me to really wonder if there are larger problems over at Microsoft. I still prefer Expression Web over Dreamweaver in general, but for now, I will be back to EW2 when my EW3 trial expires, unless the concerns are addressed and solved. The price was really a no brainer, but not if I'm buying something that will cause me grief.

LMS Interface reports ( Polling Interface Descriptions)

Hi, is it possible to poll interface descriptions when creating interface reports e.g. ( Utilization, Availability, Errors), current reports are useless because it just gives me interface number for example of ( Switch A), so I'm always asked to manually add descriptions which is horrible.

How do I change the interface color for the dark version?

The (I hope it's only a default) version of the interface colors - dark gray background and the light gray text - of the new Cloud version of Creative suite are extremely difficult to read because of their lack of contrast. How do I change them back to the non-Cloud style colors?

Can you put a feature in that allows us to delete collums or hide them?

I know Adobe Digital Editions is a free product, but given how sophisticated and expensive their commercial products are you might think Adobe would pay just a little more attention to users of their promotional free software just to help promote sales.
That said I have found a workaround for the background color and text contrast problem in Adobe Digital Editions that is a passable solution for me. I simply go into the monitor setup for my Viewsonic Monitor and change the color temperature to sRGB and the screen becomes grey with black text. If your monitor has color temperature adjustments, give it a try.

Changing Flash CS3 Interface colors

The interface on my Windows XP install of Flash CS3 has an
odd pink color that makes seeing the edge of the stage difficult
for me. I can change the stage color but I prefer white. Is there
any way to set the color behind the stage to a more reasonable gray
or such?
BTW, I've tried changing the Windows theme without
luck.

Flash used to be a designers tool but as time has progressed,
not only are we seeing Flash become more of a RIA tool (although
Flex still takes the cake there), there is also a clear division
now between designers and developers in studios.
AS3s learning curve is high, don't get me wrong but I think
the important thing here is that Adobe is separating
design/development as well. Let the designers do what they do and
the developers do their part.
In smaller studios where a designer may be responsible for
also adding in the interaction, this can prove difficult but it
isn't impossible.
Remember also that just because AS3 is here doesn't mean
that you have to use it. Adobe is still providing AS2 Fla as an
option when creating a new file and it still supports AS2 coding. I
know A LOT of people that are still using AS2 and aren't planning a
change until mid-08 or later it will probably be that way for most.
The real beauty in AS3 is the object oriented approach it
takes to development (the gui for coding still sucks and I
personally use FlashDevelop) and really allows for almost all
interaction be created with code. Like I said before, this allows
designers to remove themselves from the code and save their time
for their primary role.

Change Workspace / User Interface color from Dark to Light?

How do you change the Workspace / UI in After Effects CS6 from the default dark gray to a lighter gray?
I checked the Preferences FAQ before posting, but couldn't isolate the option.

Dial interface color temperature change and automatic backlight problem

I got the new iphone6 today, 16G, IOS8.1.1, when I use, I find some problems as below:
1) when you use dial , you will see the color temperature is changed, form redness to blueness.
2) If u open the automatic backlight function, when u go to more brighter environment, the brightness change to higher, but then u go to darker environment, the brightness is not changed or changed very slowly.
dose anybody also have these problems?who can explain the root cause?

Do you have a protective film attached to the screen? If yes, make sure it does not cover the ambient light sensor on top of the screen. Same if you are using a case around the device.

Color interface of the forms over the web are not confortable

the interface color of our application in the web are not realy confortable for our client comparing the old color used in our client/server application.
we want to change it but we are not able the set a confortable color for our
application :
- if we use the lookandfell=generic but the color of toolbar are disable.
- if we use the lookandfeel=oracle, the the choice of color for colorscheme is
not variable (it exist only 5 choice).
our environment ;
OAS 10G (9041)
FORMS 10G
DATABASE 10G
we use the forms Servlet (e.g. f60servlet/f90servlet) to invoke the Form over the Web.

For as far as I can remember there is a difference between look-and-feel Oracle and Generic in displaying toolbar icon.
Generic follows the Windows 9x/Internet Explorer approach of showing all toolbar icons as gray-tones and only showing color when you hover over them with the mouse. Oracle lookandfeel displays all toolbar-icons in color (as long as they are enabled).

Nexus 7000 SNMP Polling of interfaces within VDC's ?

I hope this is a relatively easy question to answer.
I have some Nexus 7010's that I need to monitor via SNMP. Currently, we can poll the switch and get some info back, however we only see physical interfaces that belong to the Admin VDC.
In order to be able to poll interfaces within a non-Admin VDC, do I have to configure SNMP communities (and an IP to respond to the poll) within each VDC ? Or is there a way to poll them from the Admin VDC?

Think of each VDC as a separate switch. So you need to configure SNMP per VDC.

FAQ: UI - How can I change the color theme, size of the text, or turn off the application frame?

CHANGING THE INTERFACE COLOR SCHEME:
The Photoshop CS6 default interface is dark, but if you prefer the lighter interface you are used to from earlier versions,
you can change it back in the appearance area. There are 4 default color themes.
Mac Photoshop > Preferences > Interface
Windows Edit > Preferences > Interface
CONFIGURING LARGER FONTS:
For those who need larger fonts, you can also change the UI Font Size down in the type area.
Be sure to restart Photoshop to see the changes.
TURNING OFF THE APPLICATION FRAME
CS6 opens now by default in "Application Frame". You can go Window>Application Frame in the main meu and uncheck this

Select the title / text and then click on the "i" (inspector). A colored pin wheel shows up after you click on the square box directly below the font settings inside the inspector window. Then simply drag the dot to the color you want. Like this:

Color icons gone in Dreamweaver CC (version 13)

Hi.
Whay are the color icons in Dreamweaver CC (version 13 mac) gone? Very bad
Much harder to see if i'm connected to remote site is one very frustrating thing.
I managed to replace some of the icons with versions from DW6. But many are still missing.
Does anyone have a good tip for replacing all of them?

I think it would be good to have an option to choose color or gray. Like it was before.
It's not helping me to focus on the page with only gray icons. What a stupid thing to say ...
I think a little color makes things look better (and easier to know if i'm connected to the server or not).
Witch one below stands out the most?

Solaris 10 /dev/poll bug

Solaris 10, at least on my T2000, seems to give me an EINVAL from the DP_POLL ioctl in a case where it shouldn't. The below example code should clarify:

I ran into the same problem. /dev/poll is too smart for its own good here. You can't monitor your /dev/poll file descriptor using /dev/poll, so the actual maximum number of file descriptors you can monitor is OPEN_MAX - 1. Solaris enforces that limit.
This breaks other code out there too, e.g. the libevent library. Annoying even though it's arguably technically correct.

Swatches loading into background color when clicked, not foreground

Can someone advise. When I mouse click on a swatch from the brush tool the color I select is loaded into the background color instead of the foreground color. Then to use the color I have to slide the reverse tool, which is a pain and slow. How can I have the clicked color load into the foreground first? I'm in Mac CC.

It can be hard to tell which color chip in the color panel is actually the active one.
The active color chip in the color panel will have either a white or grey line around it, depending on the ui interface color photoshop is using)
When you use the eyedropper are you using any modifier key like Command.
You shouldn't need to use any modifier key with the Brush Tool selected and clicking on one of the swatches in the Swatches panel to set the foreground color.
(with the brush tool selected, holding down the command key while clicking on one of the swatches will set the background color in the toolbox)
If nothing seems to work, i would reset the photoshop preferences
Press and hold the Shift+Command+Option keys just after starting the launch of photoshop
Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop settings file
Press Yes
