Unplug the computer USB charging problem?

If the iPhone 4 often have iTunes on your computer without charge, then disconnect theUSB charging, there is no point lower right corner of your desktop icon "Safely RemoveHardware, and out of the media" to direct removal, it will not be on the iPhone 4Influential? or iPhone 4 itself on the removal of USB are designed??

If you remove the charger the computer will continue to run on battery. When you reconnect the charger the battery will begin to re-charge from whatever level it was at. Once the battery is fully charged the charging circuitry shuts off the charger to prevent over-charging and unnecessary charge re-cycling. The charger will turn back on once the battery level has dropped below 95 percent.
To get the best performance from your battery as well as maintain an accurate measure of battery charge you should calibrate the battery periodically.

The cursor on my iMac (Panther 10.3.9) freezes to where I cannot do anything unless I unplug the computer. It is NOT a problem with the mouse or the keyboard. How do I solve this problem?

Sorry to say but your imac g5 logic board has bad caps. This was a problem apple had and issued a out of warentee fix but that has now expired.
The cost to get this repaired is more than what you could find another used imac for.
I would suggest you get some details before you rush to make a diagnosis. You have absolutely no information to base this on. I see you're hitting up on numerous threads all over the place. Quality, meaning several good posts with reliable advice, is much more worthwhile than quantity.

  • [N85] USB charging problem

    Hello all,
I tried to charge my N85 with an [non-Nokia] USB battery charger (Lenovo 90W Slim AC/DC Combo Adapter) via the Nokia Connectivity Cable (CA-101) to keep down the amount of chargers I have to carry.
But except of asking, which data connection profile I want to use, there is no charging at all.
Am I doing something wrong or is the N85 only chargeable by the original Nokia wall charger?
    Thank you

@sapporaby: Are you sure you have read my post completely? "Apple" is a brand o usb charger that does not work with my Nokia N85. It's a brand like "Kensington", with a usb charger that do work. Both usb charger worked with my old Nokia N95. I just want to know whether someone else has this problem usb charging problems too or if only my problem, and to make know @sicut that he is not the only one with usb charging problems with his Nokia N85 and his Lenovo charger.
@sapporaby, is it "apple" a word taboo for you? Why "kensington" is not taboo? Why "lenovo" is not taboo either?
    1. I have had every Mac made since 2003.
    2. I am typing this on a Mac now.
    3. I have had and still have every iPhone made.
    4. Same with every brand iPod.
    5. I am running Apple software right now and the Nokia for Mac software.
Is that taboo enough for you? DON'T ASSUME because now your taboo question is moot.
As for your the Apple charger does not work issue, my question still stands. While your Apple charger may have worked with your N95 there is no reason why it should work with your N85. Are they the same phone?. Is the N85 made by Apple? No again. Does the Apple charger supply the same charging voltage as the Nokia charger that came with the phone? These are issues that come into play. What is so hard to use the cable that came with the phone. It seems, and maybe I am wrong but you and the OP are making a mountain out of a moe-hill.
Just use the cable that came with the phone, in the USB port of your computer and be done with it. I am having a very hard time trying to understand what the problem is with using the cable.

Our MBP bought earlier this year when plugged in to charge will hold a green light and not be recognized by the computer as charging.  Sometimes if we turn it around or plug it in multiple times will work.  We have reset the SMC several times and will work for a little while then go back to the same problem.  Any help or ideas on how to fix it would be great.

    Hi Why must I,
I'm sorry to hear you are having charging issues with your MacBook Pro. It sounds like you have been on the right track in troubleshooting this issue; SMC resets are often an appropriate step for battery or power issues. If this issue persists, you may find the additional troubleshooting steps outlined in the following articles helpful:

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. How to prolong lithium-based batteries (BU34)
Battery research is focusing heavily on lithium chemistries, so much so that one could presume that all portable devices will be powered with lithium-ion batteries in the future. In many ways, lithium-ion is superior to nickel and lead-based chemistries and the applications for lithium-ion batteries are growing as a result.
Lithium-ion has not yet fully matured and is being improved continuously. New metal and chemical combinations are being tried every six months to increase energy density and prolong service life. The improvements in longevity after each change will not be known for a few years.
A lithium-ion battery provides 300-500 discharge/charge cycles. The battery prefers a partial rather than a full discharge. Frequent full discharges should be avoided when possible. Instead, charge the battery more often or use a larger battery. There is no concern of memory when applying unscheduled charges.
Although lithium-ion is memory-free in terms of performance deterioration, batteries with fuel gauges exhibit what engineers refer to as "digital memory". Here is the reason: Short discharges with subsequent recharges do not provide the periodic calibration needed to synchronize the fuel gauge with the battery's state-of-charge. A deliberate full discharge and recharge every 30 charges corrects this problem. Letting the battery run down to the cut-off point in the equipment will do this. If ignored, the fuel gauge will become increasingly less accurate. (Read more in 'Choosing the right battery for portable computing', Part Two.)
Aging of lithium-ion is an issue that is often ignored. A lithium-ion battery in use typically lasts between 2-3 years. The capacity loss manifests itself in increased internal resistance caused by oxidation. Eventually, the cell resistance reaches a point where the pack can no longer deliver the stored energy although the battery may still have ample charge. For this reason, an aged battery can be kept longer in applications that draw low current as opposed to a function that demands heavy loads. Increasing internal resistance with cycle life and age is typical for cobalt-based lithium-ion, a system that is used for cell phones, cameras and laptops because of high energy density. The lower energy dense manganese-based lithium-ion, also known as spinel, maintains the internal resistance through its life but loses capacity due to chemical decompositions. Spinel is primarily used for power tools.
The speed by which lithium-ion ages is governed by temperature and state-of-charge. Figure 1 illustrates the capacity loss as a function of these two parameters.

My mistake, it was nothing to do with format.  It woldn't sync because my movies were HD.  HD movies won't sync to an iopd classic 160 GB but when you purchase a HD movie, itunes gives you a SD vervsion of the movie which is compatible with the ipod.  Just needed to go to store, click movies, click purchased and untick the HD box and there you have the SD versions.  Download the SD versions and then sync your ipod and bobs you uncle, movies are on the ipod

  • Can the Apple USB charger be used to charge other non-Apple USB devices?

Can the Apple USB charger be used to charge other non-Apple USB devices?  I just purchased an electric toothbrush that uses a USB port to charge.  If I'm traveling, I would like to consolidate and take only one charger.  Would it be ok to use the apple charger for both items?

Yes, as long as your toothbrush doesn't require more than 5W power draw.

My ipod touch 4g wont charge when it is on. Only when i turn it off, will it charge. I cannot connect it to the computer either, via USB. This happened shortly after I tampered with an old charger, trying  to get it to charge my ipod. Any one know what is wrong, and a solution?
N.B. i have had this ipod for a year, it has been in a lot of use, could this have affected my problem??

Update to the newest version of iTunes if that doesn't work
    Try uninstalling the drivers,
    Plug in your iPod
Right click on My Computer and click on Manage
that will bring you to the Computer Management
On the left hand side click on device manager
on the right side click on the plus sign next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers
it will show a list, in that list locate iPod or USB mass storage device
    right click and select uninstall
Unplug your iPod and plug it back in
Windows should automatically start installing them again
if nothing pops up then right click on Universal Serial Bus Controllers
