Unplugging iPhone 4 Before Fully Charged

If I plug my iPhone 4 in with around 60% battery and unplug it before it's fully charged at around 80%, will that hurt my battery at all?

No. Lithium battery will be fine. Once a month or so it is recommended to let iPhone battery drain all the way down until the iPhone shuts off by itself and then to fully recharge it. Also letting the battery drain all the way down is not a problem either. Charge your iPhone when it is convienent for you, but charging up to 100% when you get a chance will be less of a hassle overall.

How can we tell if the iphone is already fully charged in ios7? Even if its 100% the thunderbolt icon is still displayed. Not like in ios 6 that we will know when to unplug the charger because there is an indicator.

For those who seem unfamiliar with what is being asked:
On iOS 6 and older, just because the phone reached 100%, didn't mean it was Fully Charged. The way you could tell was the lightning bolt symbol that indicated the device was charging would change to an outlet plug when the device was not only 100%, but also stopped accepting further charge. This symbol switch would occur anywhere from 5-15 minutes after the device already was displaying 100%.
Now, on iOS 7, while it still reaches 100% with that same lightning bolt charge symbol, during the 100% point, it never switches to the plug symbol to indicate the charge period is totally finished.
Can anyone confirm if there is a way to see this charge completion in iOS 7 since it appears that there is no longer a symbol for it? Is there any indication that Apple may have changed the charging display so that now it only displays 100% when it would have previously displayed that plug symbol?

  • IPhone 4 not fully charging.

No matter how long I charge my iPhone, it won't fully charge. I charge it every night while I sleep, for at least 8 hours. Whenever I look at it in the morning, it varies how much it has charged by the morning. Sometimes it will charge to 95% and other times it will only charge to 53% and I have to unplug and replug it in order for it to charge more. I'm margin via the wall charger given with the iPhone 4. Has anyone has this problem ? Do I have a defect In my phone or could it be the charger?

There are several things you can try to fix it. Try in this order:
    1) Press and Hold the Home and Wake Sleep buttons until the Apple Logo appears.
    2) If that doesn't work, try a reset, To reset go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset.
    3) Try a different cable and charging block.
    4) Restore via itunes.
If none of these work, take it to the apple store for testing and corrective action. Make sure you take your charging cable and block. You can make an appointment on line at: www.apple.com/retail. Search for your local store and there, you can make an on-line appointment.
    Hope this helps.....

  • Iphone 4S never fully charges after OS upgrade

My iPhone 4S charged quickly and to 100% with my Iphone wall charger and in my car with my A&T cigarette lighter version. Since the OS upgrade, it doesn't ever fully charge, even after 10 hours, and loses battery life very quickly.

The headset has to be put into "discovery mode" before the iPhone can see it.

  • IPhone 5 not fully charging

    Hi,
iPhone 5 - recently noticed when plugged in overnight, it was not fully charging (maybe charging to 75-80% when I checked in morning).  Unplug and plug lightning connector back into phone, and leave it alone.  It will eventually charge all the way.  Anyone else seen this?

Should also mention - let battery completely run down when I noticed this issue and then plugged it in to charge.  Still same behavior.

  • My iPhone will NOT fully charge?!?!?!?!

the other day, my phone had the plug symbol for that battery showing that it was fully charged and running on the plug, when i unpluged it, it was fine. that night it was about 1/4 battery(like normal) and i plugged it back in, the next morning i looked at it and it was still charging, usually it is fully charge running on AC. and for 3 days now, i have not been able to get a full charge.
is this happening to anyone else, if so, how do i fix it.
iPhone   Other OS   two weeks old

th scot, You may want to make sure that both bluetooth and wifi are OFF when you're charging. See if that makes a difference.
Otherwise try to shut the iPhone off, then wait a few minutes, then power up.
or try to RESET the iPhone by holding down the Sleep/wake button and the Home button for like 8-10 seconds.
    or....
try to RESTORE the iPhone via iTunes RESTORE software.
One of these is bound to work

  • IPhone 4 get fully charged at 50%!

    Hei there,
the title says pretty much the whole thing: the charge stops at 50% precisely, with the spine charge symbol on the battery.
Is this normal? anyone experienced a similar thing?changing the battery can fix this issue?
    thx for any info!

Thank you for your answer, but unfortunately i've already done that, twice, and it always stopped at 50% signing the fully charged spine icon.
Some more info that silly me i have not provided before:
This is a used iPhone 4 (bb 4.12.01, iOS 5.11) i was given because of a "no service" issue after a carrier change.
The first time i powered it and browsed rapidly in the settings, i noticed that in the "usage" tab under "last charge" section, there was nothing, just a blank -- . I thought it was somehow weird, but not really considered it something noteworthy.*
Thx for your help, and sorry english is not my first language.
*Ps: As of now that voice still show a blank dash and never showed something at all in there.

  • IPhone 5 says fully charged, even though its only at 34%?

My original iPhone 5 charger broke. An internal wire had split, so I purchased a new charger. It was working fine (from flat battery to 34%) and then it stopped and showed the fully charged icon (the little plug image inside the battery in the top right). I did a hard reset and tried a different plug socket, but to no avail. Unfortunately, I don't have another charger to try it on. So I was hoping you guys can help me out with some suggestions. Thank you :)

Where did you get the 'new charger'? Is it an Apple charger, or 3rd party?
The obvious advice is to try a different charger. Plug it into the USB on your computer. Try to charge it from there.
If it doesn't work with a known good charger, make an appointment at the genius bar and get it serviced. It's still under warranty (as was the original charger that you replaced).

  • Charging Icon shows full while charging when iPhone isn't fully charged

The battery/charging icon in the top right of my iPhone 3G will change to the "fully charged" icon while the phone is charging. However, the phone is not truly fully charged. Why is the icon showing up if the phone isnt even close to being fully charged??

I've had the same problem with 2 iPhones now, first one I had wouldn't charge and then just went completely dead. I had it replaced and guess what, same bloody thing. My phone hasn't been charging since last night and I'm honestly getting sick of it. I'm having this one replaced, my third iPhone in the past 4 months. This is the last one, if anything happens to is I want my money back and to **** with it.

  • IOS 7 doesn't change the lighting bolt icon when iPhone 4s is fully charged

When I connect my iPhone 4s to a plug and it starts charging, I can see a lightning bolt on iOS7 next to the battery, but when it is fully charged it doesn't change to a plug icon as it used to change on iOS 6. Any suggestions? Does it damage my battery?

Well, for the time being (I mean, if Apple does not go back to the bolt/plug icons) if the device shows 100% then it's fully charged.
But feel free to let Apple know that you want it in http://www.apple.com/feedback

  • IPhone 4 is fully charged but does not turn on

I've tried a hard reset by pressing and holding both the power button and the home button on numerous occasions for different durations, and nothing. I've tried to plug it back into an outlet, and nothing. I tried plugging into my Macbook and iTunes doesn't even read the phone, still nothing. My phone was fully charged when I took it off of the charger (around 1:50 a.m.) Sunday morning, November 7, 2010 (daylight savings) and I'm not sure if that could be the issue. Please help.
My phone is basically dead and unresponsive to all of the troubleshooting I have read about.....

  • New iPhone says not fully charged

I just got my iPhone yesterday and charged it overnight. When I went to get it this morning, the battery picture says that it's mostly charged but not all the way (80 or 90 percent). Any thoughts on what to do or why this is?

maybe it is not good to leave it left charging after it is FULLY charged, that will cause an overcharge, and maybe that is what causing the problem!!
am not an expert and that's only what i think about!!
make the phone go off by itself when no battery left, then charge it during the day till it shows that the battery is fully charged!!

  • My iphone 4 is fully charged but dies every 2 or 3 mins

Bought brand new iphone 4 off ebay. Sealed and everything. I charge it fully, did software updates. But it continually turns itself off and reappears with the apple sign. I have checked its warranty and it is still valid but will i be able to take it to an apple shop without the receipt to get fixed?

Apple Warranties the iPhone itself. They do not require a receipt.

  • TS1363 my iphone (with a fully charged battery) has turned off and is not restarting?

How can I get my Iphone to turn on, it has a full battery and went off on its own?

According to Apple's website you should be getting up to almost 15 hours of playback time from a full charge.  It shouldn't matter whether or not you have the iPod on or off during the charging process.
