Unplugging the USB cable from the Handheld.

Everything has gone smooth. Synchronization a problem. But I cannot get the cable out of the handheld. I have pulled. pressed. pushed. It will not come out. Brand new and I don't want to break it. Is there a secret to getting the cable to disengage? Thanks for any help.

ALMEYER,
There are no official Palm stores you can take your device to for help with your issue.
You may be able to go to a local best buy or a retailer that has a service dept. to see if they can help you with removing the cable. You can also check with a local computer store to see if they can help also.
You should be able to disengage the cable by using the method in the previous post.

  • Disconnecting USB cable from E51/notebook PC

I'm using PC Suite ver 7.1.18.0 with Windows XP Professional and connecting my E51 to the notebook PC via a DKE-2 USB cable. All functions work perfectly (at least those I want), but a previous version of PC Suite gave me the standard "Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device" function on the Start Bar. Since updating PC Suite including the latest drivers, I no longer get this icon. The only way of disconnecting the phone from the PC is by just removing the cable and I have always been under the impression that this can damage the USB device. Is closing PC Suite before disconnecting sufficient to avoid damage to my phone?

You could also try these steps before unplugging your usb cable from your pc:
    1. click the safely remove hardware (green arrow pointing down) found on the right portion of the taskbar.
    2. select the usb cable
    3. then click stop (once you click stop, it informs you that you could now safely remove your usb cable from your pc.)
As for unhooking your N70 from the usb cable, the suggestion from previous messages is the best way which is by gently bending it downwards.
    Hope this helps.

Is there a knack to disconnecting the cable from the phone? When I try it seems to get stuck and I'm worried about causing damage by pulling

  • I just bought an ipod touch 4th generation recently, found that it is very difficult to plug and unplug the USB cable from my ipod.Does anyone have this problem?

I just bought an ipod touch 4th generation recently, found that it is very difficult to plug and unplug the USB cable from my ipod. Does anyone have this problem?

Some of the Dock connector cables have very small buttons on the rounded adge of the plug, which need to be pushed in to release the plug from the iPod. Look at the picture below, do you notice the "button" on the white connector edge? There's one on the other edge too and they both need to be pressed in to release the "evil looking spike" sticking out of the grey edge.
The shorter plugs (that I've seen) do not have the release mechanism, the plug simply pulls out.

  • Do usb cables from older ipods work with the ipod touch?

I have several older OEM usb cables from older ipods, but they don't seem to want to fit into my new Touch.  I don't want to break it.  The body of the end that goes into the unit is smaller than the old ones.  Have the plugs changed?

Never mind.I found the same question answered several other times.  Thanks, folks!

  • System hangs up on plugging the USB cable from SCXI1600 into my PC

    Hello there,
My PC hung up twice during installation on plugging the USB cable from SCXI1600 into my PC.  I have installed Labview 7.1
followed by NI-DAQmx 7.4 drivers.  I then plug in the cable into one of the USB ports and then switch the power on on the chassis,
SCXI-1000.  My PC immediately goes into safe mode switches off and turns back on.  I do not know why this has happened.  It has worked
    fine prior to this.

    Morning!
I figured out why my system was switching to safe mode and shutting the moment I plugged in the USB cable from my SCXI-1600.  That was the instruction coming in from Norton Anti-Virus which saw the power and data coming through the USB as a serious intrusion into the system and automatically shuts down even without asking me.  I now need to know how to change the setting on the Anti-Virus to recognise SCXI as a client on my computer.
Thank you to anyone thinking about this prob.
    Cheers.

  • Have to unplug/replug USB cable to HP3300mfp

Purchased new Intel iMAC and upgraded to 10.4.10. HP3300 mfp worked with old system, and works with new system - IF you unplug/replug USB cable each time you start up computer, wake the computer from sleep, or after not using the printer for a while even though using the computer. Tried reinstalling driver, resetting printers in Print Utility, turning printer off/on, etc. Printer shows in System Profile. At least we found how to make it work - just an aggravation. Suggestions appreciated.

I'm experiencing the same thing lately. Frustrating and unable to backup to my iDisk. Doesn't appear to be being caused by my ISP (comcast) which is surprising.

TV display shows USB cable from apple tv and iTunes logo.
Otherwise completely unresponsive! what can be done to revive apple tv?

That is telling that the Apple TV is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. This is done by connecting to iTunes via micro USB.

  • Can I use the iPad power brick to plug a 'Y' USB cable from an external hard-drive to get enough USB power?

    Hi,
I cannot power-on my iomega eGo using a regular USB cable and my iMac (2010 model). Since I have the wall USB brick charger of my iPad, I was mondering if I could plug a 'Y' USB cable in the following way:
    - from the eGo, to the iMac and the last 'Y' connection to the brick to get the power.
    Will this work?
    Thanks

It sounds like you're going to end up squirting 2 amps of electricity into your iMac into a port which is supposed to supply power, not receive it. Very bad idea. Consider the word "fry".
From the specs for your drive: "Requires USB 3.0 port or ExpressCard™ or PCIe slot for best performance"
USB 3 ports supply nearly twice the power of USB 2 ports.

  • W510 bootup when plug in a USB cable from a printer

I am not sure whether this is by design or a defect. When I plug in a USB cable (connected to a printer that is on), the machine boot up by itself. Does any one else have experienced this? Is this a concern?
    Thanks,
    Charles

It might be the "allow device to wake from standby" option.  Eg. here's some info for a mouse, you could see what is set for your printer:

  • Does the usb cable from the Zen Nano cause can

I read in the manual that in some states it is known to have elements that cause cancer is this true?, show I be worried?

Yep, it's some California law that all products or constituents listed as possibly causing cancer must have this warning. I'm not sure what it is that the cable has though... but God knows how many cables I'v touched in my lifetime! Although I don't remember eating any, just spaghetti

  • Using Second USB cable from Cable modem to hook up to Internet

    Hello,
Is this supposed to work? It appears there is no USB select in Location prefs.

If both your computers have wireless, you can connect one to the internet with the USB modem, then turn on your airport cards and select share internet via wireless in your sharing prefs (put on a password), and you can share your connection with anyone, although it will retard the speed of access.
    Too easy, for sheezy......

  • I tried for update but when i saw the screen its showing an arrow with a USB cable towards itunes icon, and now i'm not able to do anything, i also tried to connect ipad through my laptop but no use

i tried for update but when i saw the screen its showing an arrow with a USB cable towards itunes icon, and now i'm not able to do anything, i also tried to connect ipad through my laptop but no use

That message means that you have to restore the iPad now. There was a problem with the update. So connect the iPad to your computer and restore your iPad.
You can read bout it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
If that does not work you will need recovery mode. You can read about it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
Or you can follow these Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.
