what do I do when a PDF document doesn't convert to a readable text that I can change in word?

Issue got resolved.
Have to delete a logfile generated OS level in global folder then restart the SAP instance.

Can't find unread message in Messages

The Messages icon in my Dock shows one unread message, but I can't seem to locate it.
When I open the Messages window, none of the conversations in the list have any unread messages.
It would be great if there was a command to "Open unread conversation(s)" or perhaps "Mark all conversations as read"?
The badge is really irritating since I can't mark an unknown message as read.

Gmail sync with iphone

How can i sync my google account to the iphone, for it to receive new mail, but not download the 4000 unread conversations i already have?

Really just downloads message headers for the most part until you open. Also leaving everything in your inbox is the issue. Should archive what is not new then your inbox on the iPhone will not be full, but you can still get to in the All Mail folder.

Why does Mail reply to the first unread mail in a conversation rather than the one I'm viewing?

When I have "Organize by Conversation" set in Mail and I click on the top of a conversation group which brings up all the messages in that conversation, usually highlighting the earliest unread message, which is fine behavior.
However, when I scroll through the messages to a more recent read or unread message and now have a completely different message in view than that first one, when I hit Reply, Mail replies to that earliest unread message even though it is completely not in view. This is very confusing and frustrating behavior for me since I would expect mail to respond to the message I'm looking at, not one I was looking at a few minutes ago! I can probably get around this by turning of the conversation view, but I like that part and this seems like a big that should be fixed.
Is anyone else frustrated by this strange UI-ism? Know a work around?

Thanks for the reply CT. I forgot to say I wanted to use just the keyboard. II was using the keyboard shortcut cmd-R for reply when I was having the problem.
I think there is some set of keys that I stumbled upon once to delve into the messages in a conversation but I can't rememember it, recreate it, or always remember to highlight the message I'm looking at before I hit cmd-R.

BAPI Receives unreadable parameters after unicode conversion

Dear All,
I have a strange issue, which i am stuck with and need your help to solve this.
I have a BSP Application which resides in my BW Production system and it calls a custom BAPI in R/3 to fetch list of materials based on material-text search as one of the parameters. This used to work properly before our R/3 got upgraded to ECC 6.0 with unicode conversion.
Both BW and R/3 are unicode systems now. But, doing external debugging i found that the parameters that i am sending through BSP to this BAPI are ok on BW side but, when it reaches R/3 it is getting converted to some unreadable characters due to which the BAPI doesnot return correct results.
Please advice where does conversion is happening and how can this be solved. I need immediate help as I am helpless and its a production issue...

please make sure that in transaction SM59 on both sides (BW and ERP) the rfc connections are defined as Unicode.

Unreadable characters in SM21 after Unicode Conversion

Hi all,
After upgrading from BW 3.1 content to BI 7.0, I did unicode conversion.
Now in tcode SM21, all log messages are in unreadable characters.
I tried applying SAP Notes 688089 and 45580, but no use.
Pls give me some inputs on this regard

Phone says there is a new text message but there is no blue dot next to any of the conversations, nor is there an unread message at the end of the conversation.

my ipod is not the newest update possible as i said i tried to update but it wouldnt let me as it wont let me on wifi sources such as safari facebook and other apps which use wifi.all the apps are fully updated

Conversation Topics not bolded with unread messages

When new messages come in on a conversation topic, I get the blue dot, but the Subject goes bold and back to normal font. Having conversation topics bolded for unread messages was very useful to me.
I have tried Mail preferences to no avail. Any thoughts?

Under Subject, the topic Momentum Swinging should be bold until I read the other two posts. It seems like a minor issue but its really messing with my brain.

Conversion from Word to PDF is unreadable to others

I have had this problem a couple of times:
I save a word 2007 document as a 97-2003 doc and then convert to pdf using the print command.
When I email this to others, sometimes the words are "jibberish" as one person told me and sometimes the page looks cut off as another person has told me.
I do not see any of these issues when I preview the documents or open the documents.
These have been just text documents and some documents may have basic jpg images.
Went to the Microsoft Word Forum and it was suggested that I go to this forum for assistance.
The version of Acrobat is Professional 8.0.
Attached is the last document that I emailed to someone and they could not read it.
Can anyone help?

Some GUI elements after Unicode conversion are unreadable

We have converted an MDMP system to unicode and when we log on to it using SAP GUI 7.10 and non-Latin1 languages - some elements:
Tool Bar, syb-menues, selection screen texts, table content in SE16 are displayed incorrectly (garbled)
On PC all supplemental languages are installed, all I18n settings per SAP notes have been done but still - no success.
What else can be wrong?
Seems like a front end issue, because downloading table content from SE16 to a local file and then opening it in IE using ISO encoding - works fine. I also noticed that when saving the file SAP says "
using code page 1160"
Shouldn't it be using code page 4110 - which should be autimatically assigned to SAP Gui when connected to a Unicode SAP system?

How about the exact steps you used along the way (including the PDF creation and the URL)? That way we can try to reproduce your steps or see where one may have gone wrong. There are just too many possibilities to say way the problem is at this point.

Pages conversions unreadable i some machines

I like Pages very much and have been using it as my only word processor for several months. I recenty started a new job which requires me to send documents to some 85 people, all using PCs. I send them either PDF or DOC files converted from Pages. Some people can't open one or the other, or neither. According to them, the files arrive with the extesions .pdft or .doct. Can someone suggest a fix?
I would tell them to associate these files with Adobe Reader and Word, but most would not know how to do it. It would be much better to get rid of the "t".

I don't thought to someone but to something, a wrong interpretation of the doc ID.
Often I received documents with AppleWorks identifier which in fact where Stuffit ones and, as I was the sender, I am sur that I sent Stuffit files.
My guess is that you asked Pages and/or the Finder to not add the extension name which force the system of your correspondant to add the ext by itself doing that wrongly.
If I am right, ask Pages to add the extension (which is for sure the preferred setting).

Collapsed view: how to see "most recent unread message" instead of "first unread message" in a thread in Mail

Hey all,
I use the inbuilt Mail-software on my Macbook with Lion 10.7 and I constantly overlook new messages in a thread, as I organize by conversation and usually have all my threads in 'collapsed view'. For some reason Mail seems to prefer showing the 'first', i.e. the earliest unread message as the one message that I see in collapsed. If there are newer messages already in the thread, I don't see them, unless I un-collapse the thread. I find this really unintuitive and annoying, my inbox seems far more static than it really is.
Is there any way to change this and have Mail show me the most recent unread message as the message I see in collapsed view?
I appreciate any advice.

Getting ÿþ as saved conversations from Lync in Outlook in Office 2013

I've been trying to get to the bottom of this and have found similar posts, but no one seems to have an answer.
When I IM someone using Lync 2013, they get a pop up notification but instead of the message they see ÿþ<. Once they open the chat window, they can see my typed text. Occasionally, certain people can't see the first line of my chat, but as
long as they keep the chat window open, they can see everything new I type.
All my conversations that are saved in outlook show ÿþ< for the text and are unreadable. I've disabled the saving of conversations because they have become worthless.
I believe it has to do with BOM but have not been able to find a way to fix this.
If I copy a conversation from the chat window and paste it into Microsoft Word it shows ÿþ<, but if I paste it into notepad the conversation appears.

I've tried changing the preferred encoding for outgoing messages: to Unicode (UTF-8) in Outlook, but this had no effect and I can't find a similar option in Lync 2013.

I enabled logging for Lync and the event IDs that come up are 1, 11 and 12, to which I cannot find any information for at the moment.

Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
Please try to delete Lync User Profile and information on Registry, then repair Office 2013.
The path of Lync User Profile: %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync
The path for information on Registry: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]
Then test the issue again.
