Unreadable Text in iTunes

I noticed lately that I can not read some of the text when viewing an artists description of a song or the song title itself. I see a lot of vertical lines where text should be. This is especially true with japanese artists. Also, why am I seeing more japanese related items in the 7.1 version? I did not see them before.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?

E-mail changes to unreadable text when moved to another mailbox folder

Hi,
when moving a correct received e-mail to another mailbox folder, the mail and the attachment will change to unreadable text and it looks like the column below.
On my iPad and iPhone the mail and the attachment is shown correct. If I forward it to my own account again, the mail is also correct shown an my imac27, as long as it resides in the in-box.
On the other hand, there are lots of mails+attachments with "normal" behavier when moved.
Any idea about that?

Why is the text on itunes squashed and compacted?

For some reason, all of the text on itunes is very small and overlap each other. Not sure why this happens but it is very annoying and blocks some of the features. The picture is an example of what I mean.

Another example from the Stairlifts.html page where <b><font><u>....<font><u></b> appears and even if corrected wouldn't be closed in the correct order.

How do I make the text in iTunes a lot larger?

I use an old iTunes. Check if there is something in iTunes preferences, but I doubt there is. You may have to simply use something such as Universal Access preferences to zoom your whole screen. I do recall coming across a reference for a hack to edit iTunes fonts in the application itself but if you enlarge the font as opposed to simply tweaking it slightly with a very similar one you are likely to really mess up iTunes display since the rest of the application won't have been designed with scaled up fonts in mind.
I can also personally recommend reading glasses.

Safari links coming up in unreadable text

Can anyone help me, one of our machines shows the links in safari in a unreadable text that looks like machine language. Only the links are affected.

Win7/ iTunes 8 and 9 = Large, fonts, unreadable text

I have this same issue in iTunes 8 and 9.
In short.. something is wrong with the fonts, and I cannot read lots of on-screen text.
Here's but one example of my issue..

Can't be of much help. iTunes has been the only media manager I've used since SoundJam (which was really it's direct ancestor as Apple bought it and turned it into iTunes) so I've never really had a problem with moving things to iTunes.
so i have my itunes library on a brand new time capsule, and some albums lag upto 2 minutes to go form one song to the next...the same album every time even if i was listening to other songs in itunes that play flawlessly and accurately.
Again, outside my knowledge as I don't have a Time Capsule. To be sure to get an answer to that question, I'd suggest you start a new thread with a descriptive title so that people who do know will see it. They may not look at a post about tagging. You may also want to post it over in the Airport and Time Capsule forum.

New text message notification won't go away, but there are no unread text messages

I've tried turning the phone off and on again about a million times. I've tried deleting the text message thread that it should have been talking about. I've restored my settings, I've erased the entire phone and then restored from itunes... and IT'S STILL THERE. Stupid little red "1" in the text message icon. When I click on messages, it just opens to the screen showing all your threads. I've obviously checked all, and there are no unread messages...and even if there was 1 unread message like it's saying, when I click on messages it should open up directly to it, but it doesn't, because there isn't one.
Don't know what else to try. Anyone have any suggestions or heard of this before? Thank you so much, I appreciate all help!

I had this same problem with my phone. I reset it, no messages appearred unread! Eventually I "dragged down" my notification centre at the top of your screen, and it showed my "unread" message! I clicked it and my problem was solved! Hope this works for you!

Symbols show instead of text in itunes (menu items only)???

Hi can anyone help me please? My itunes is suddenly showing square like symbols instead of text, does anyone know how to fix this please?

Whats happened is somehow the itunes program language settings was changed from english to another language thats not installed on your PC, therefore nothing but squares show (Usually some asian language like chinese). I will try to direct you on how to change it back to english even tho you can not read it.
1) Open itunes and at the top where you would normally see File,Edit,View ect ect. Goto the second listing from the lefthand side (This is edit) then on that menu pick the last thing at the bottom (This is preferences)
2) Select the first tab from the lefthand side (General tab) and at the bottom where you see a dropdown menu is the Language section.
3) Open the dropdown menu and select the 5th listing down (This is english)
4) At the bottom righthand corner where you would normally see "OK" and "Cancel", pick the first button from the lefthand side (This is OK)
5) Now for the language to take you need to close itunes, then reopen it

However, I am not able to open the text/pdf file from the downloads window on itunes. I use itunes on mac.

You don't open it in the download window.
Select iTunes U in the left sidebar.
If you don't see the left sidebar, iTunes menu View > View sidebar.

Apple product unreadable after updating Itunes 11.1.5

I need serious help because I'm having this problem for almost a month.
Last month I updated my Itunes to 11.1.5 and after I updated it. NONE of my Apple products is detectable by Itunes and it's really annoying because I can't update my playlist.
I have followed all this steps given by the apple website and NONE OF THEM WORKED.
1. Update iTunes
2. Check the USB cable
3. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
4. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
6. Check for third-party software conflicts

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Garbled arabic text in itunes

My arabic text showed fine when I was using iTunes in Windows. However, on my MacBook the arabic titles of songs are garbled and in strange characters.

You may need to convert your id3 tags to unicode. There is an app called ID3Mod that can help.

That's consistent with trouble with the Segoe UI fonts on your system.
