Unrecognized DVD/CD drive after I-tunes upgrade to ver 7.6.2.9

I have a problem since I upgraded I-tunes to latest version 7.6.2.9. My PC no longer recognizes my DVD/CD Rom. I have deleted my Upper and Lower filters in the registry, then reboot my CD-Rom is back. I open I-tunes and the program does not see my CD drive. I reinstall i-tunes my CD-Rom disappears. Can anyone HELP ?

From what I understand, the problem is that iTunes is writing a registry entry that doesn't belong in Windows (the UpperFilters/LowerFilters entries). Once you delete these you should only have to deal with the missing drive with iTunes. WMP can still see it as a rule so any CD's you want to rip can be done that way to .wav, .mp3 or the .wma formats. If you want to use iTunes for listening to CD the dump your dell for a Mac. Unfortunately neither Apple nor Microsoft want to give on this issue which has existed since iTunes 7.5 based on personal experience.

You had mentioned that since your Windows 10 Upgrade, it no longer works. Have you tried doing all updates (Windows, HP Support Assistant, BIOS)?Have you tried restarting the Notebook a couple of times?Have you tried to run the Windows Troubleshooter? Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating for Windows 10. Partial? Homesharing Problem after I-tunes upgrade!

After upgrading i-tunes to the latest version today 19/12/12 I find that some of my purchased TV programs will not open on my ipad. E.g. all of season 4 of Castle will open and play, but the season 3 & 5 icons show in the TV programs screen, but will not open to show the various episodes. I can watch all episodes in i-tunes on my PC and can stream them all to my ipad using the useful Air Video Server app. It is disappointing to note that a free app such as Air Video Server can stream these programs perfectly but, although I have legally purchased all these episodes from the i-tunes store, I cannot use I-tunes to stream them .This is poor! Any thoughts. I have checked the location of the files on my c drive and they are all in the I-tunes media folder. I cannot for the life of me figure out the reason for this anomoly. Any thoughts?

Satellite Pro P300 - PSPCDA-01L00D - DVD not found after Windows 7 upgrade

After performing a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium, then downloading the necessary drivers from the Toshiba support website there are issues with the DVD player in my laptop.
I downloaded the Toshiba DVD Player application, which auto detects which version you need. After allowing the application to run, I get the message "No Toshiba DVD installation could be found! You can only update an already installed version."
How do I get the DVD player to be recognised, so the application will install. Currently the DVD player will not play DVDs - which will be an issue for my daughter who is using the laptop.
Also, the Windows 7 driver page mentions updates will be available through Toshiba Service Station, but provides no link. A search of the Toshiba website fails to locate it, where do I get this utility from?

I agree with Mike30. As you can see on Toshiba website, its just an update but no full version. Full version of DVD player is only preinstalled on your notebook and included in Toshiba recovery disk.
But in my opinion you dont need additional DVD player software. Its a little useless but thats my personal opinion
I prefer the allround tool VLC media player because it can play all known audio and video files. Its small and freeware player and I can recommend it.

I lost my dolby driver after Windows 10 upgrade

I own a s7-391. I just updated to windows 10. I lost my dolby driver. For some reason my laptop doesnt sound as loud as it once did. Could be this be the issue?

I'm facing the same problem too. I'm using Aspire V5-573PG. After upgrade to windows 10, the dolby home theater v4 stop working. I tried to uninstall the old driver and download the driver for windows 10. But no help at all, the dolby home theater v4 software wasn't in my computer. Hope they will patch the software ASAP.P.S: The proble probably came from cortana. The dolby software auto turn off when I use google now on google chrome last time, but it can be turn on again, but not this time...

Can't mount internal pata drive after nautilus etc upgrades

I have a second pata harddive installed which contains windows xp (ntfs) and a fat32 partition.
After upgrading nautilus and it's dependancy upgrades I get this error from nautilus now,
Unable to mount "storage"
Authentication is required
(storage is the name of the fat32 partition)
I get simular for the NTFS partition
I have re-added my username to storage group
I have no entry for drive/partitions in fstab, HAL/UDEV was happy doing it before

Is it safe to install 10.4 on an external drive after I have upgraded my MacPro to 10.6.8

I just checked and I have OS10.4.11 and CS3 already installed on an external drive. Is it safe to use that drive to restart my computer to use these items and then be able to retart using my MacPro hard drive to switch back to OS10.6.8?

ONLY if you upgraded to a later unsupported GPU like the 8800GT or ATI 5770 would you have trouble.

I am a new Windows Vista Ultimate OS owner, and thus far, I'm absolutely thrilled with the advances in video render and compression speeds. However, one of the auto-update features tried to update my Extigy driver, the one that apparently loaded with the original install of Windows Vista, and the update didn't work...go figure. So, now there is no way to use the system restore as it doesn't recognize that there was a change, and I can't get the Extigy to make a peep.

How to recover DVD drive after WinXP Service Pack1 Upgrade on Protege M200

I have lost my DVD Multi drive after upgrading WInXP SP1 on my Protege Tablet M200. On restarting ElbyCheck reported a conflict with Drag'n Drop v3.00189. I (stupidly) chose to resolve it.

Is there a way to reinstall the drivers and recover the DVD without having to completely restore the Tablet to its factory image?
The good news is that the DVD works - it correctly allows the Toshiba Recovery DVD-Rom to boot up. The DVD is mounted in the Tablet M200 docking station and I don't think there is any other way to connect it to the Tablet.
WinXP Device Manager reports a problem with the Mat****a DVD-Ram UJ-810 USB device: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupt or missing (code 39)". However, uninstalling or reinstalling the drivers does not help because WinXP reports that the current drivers are installed. Thanks to SP1 there's also no previous drivers to roll-back to...
Is there a way of getting the right drivers reloaded?
Any help is much appreciated!

I recently upgraded my system from Windows 7 to Windows 8. However, the DVD-Rom drive after the upgrade no longer works properly -- it now treats the pre-recorded disk as if it was completely blank. I tried reinstalling the Toshiba Disc Creator, but that did not work.
Any solution?

You apparently did not use the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant in upgrading to Windows 8. See HERE for DVD and Disk Creator problems occurring during the upgrade and solutions.

Lenovo 3000 N200 Laptop (0687-75B) has no DVD-RW drive detected under SATA in Vista Ultimate.

I use the Windows Vista Ultimate DVD (with Auto-activation) to install OS on the Lenovo 3000 N200 Laptop, however, no DVD-RW drive after successful OS installation. I have try both compatibility or AHCI mode but the same result occurs. (Both Windows updated and Lenovo update OK)
When I install Windows Ultimate with choosing internet activation, DVD-RW drive can be found.
Anybody has idea?

Check out the Laptop LCD screen is solid white color example. This is what happens to my screen and sometimes the 2nd example happens also. I'm also thinking its the cable because whenever it does happen, I find that adjusting the position of the lid (opening the lid and closing the lid) fixes the problem. Also, one example on the other website said to try touch around the borders of the screen and see what happens - Touching around the borders does nothing.
I'm thinking cable.
I will try replace the cable after I buy new hinges and let you know how I go.

Cd/dvd device not recognized after os lion upgrade

my cd/dvd drive no longer shows up on the device list in Finder. I think it disappeared after OS lion upgrade...I need help fixing this situation.

Check you settings in Finder > preferences > Sidebar tab > check "CD's DVDs, and iPods".
Also check the General tab to display on the desktop.
