Unrecognized mp3 playe

I found out what that window says "Firmware Problem". and I can't get the firmware to recognized the mp3 being connected.
And yest I tried holding down the power button and hitting the reset button, numerous times.
Thanks
Richard

You have used the player on this computer before? When did you install service pak3. I believe that may be your problem? Check to see if WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER is installed on the new one. If you have access to a different computer running Xp Service Pak2 it will be easier to remedy the problem. What firmware was on the player prior to the problem & are you SURE you got the correct driver from the website as it is not as easy as going to the page & finding your player. (Down in the bottom right of the page for your player there is a box that says Manual Selection with 3 drop boxes ) you choose you O.S 2)Language 3)all or firmware ,drivers ,app. then Submit. If you didn't go through those steps before downloading you Don't have all you needed.)http://forums.creative.com/creativel...id=6893#M28836Just so you know the new service pack is diffently an issue read this thread in order for you to updater the firmware one ket thing is you need service pack2 and the driver and had you EVER updated the firmware prior or was it the original.

  • How can I make music (mp3) play automatically in one Scene (NO buttons)?

    How can I make an mp3 play automatically in one Scene (NO buttons)? I have been searching the net for answers for over 10 hours with no answer... My movie will not be for the web, it needs to be portable (CD or flash drive)...
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
    thank you!

    You just need to look in Help for the Sound class and possibly SoundChannel... if you have an MP3 in your library - right click it, and go to properties. Set the sound to export for ActionScript - and give it a class name - mySound will work. Then you can make it play with something as simple as:
    var a:SoundChannel = new mySound().play();

  • Mp3s play in iTunes and on iPod mini but not on iPod classic

    Some of the mp3s in my iTunes library will not play on my new 160G iPod classic. I paid for and downloaded the mp3s from the internet (not p2p), most of wich are CBR (192Kbps), but the occasional album is VBR. All of the mp3s play fine in windows media player, iTunes and on my old iPod mini. When I go to play them on my iPod classic, the tracks just skip. It seems strange that the files play on an older model of ipod.
    I have searched though these forums, and have seen people having similar trouble, but have yet to come across a solution.

    Yes, I have this problem as well. I have synced and re-synced an entire library three times now (which is not easy when you have almost 10k tracks to upload) and the same issue occurs on some tracks, but not others. I can't really see a commonality amongst the files to figure out why the ipod won't play the songs. They play fine on Itunes and when the unit itself is hooked up to my computer, but not if you are just listening to it from the Ipod. Strange...hope somebody can answer this question soon...the problem is really irritating.

  • MP3 playing in Darwin Server

    Hi,
    I am trying to get MP3 playing in Darwin Server. I added a playlist using Darwin administrator page. When I play the playlist, a MP3Broadcaster.exe diaglog box pops out, saying "MP3Broadcaster.exe has encountered a problem and needs to be close." I am using Windows XP and the MP3 is not hinted in the playlist. Any idea on how to fix it? Thanks

    You may get a quicker answer if you ask on the Darwin Streaming Server mailing list:
    http://lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/streaming-server-users
    You're more likely to have experienced DSS administrators participating there.
    Good luck and regards.

  • Do your MP3s play back with digital clicks and distortion on new iPad?

    I have thousands of MP3s encoded to 192 in my iTunes library that have played flawlessly on my iPods, iPhone, first-gen iPad and Macs with no problems. All the MP3s played back on my third-gen iPad (ATT 4G) randomly have clicks and digital distortion through them. These clicks and distortions don't always happen in the same place and not always with the same file. This points to a problem with the iPad. Anyone else having this problem?

    Thought I may as well post some additional photos consisting of my iPad compared to my sisters iPad 4;
    Mine is the top iPad, sisters is the bottom iPad.
    Close-up of my sisters iPad, same side;
    The camera doesn't capture the full glory of the back-light bleeding, you can just imagine how much worse and more apparent it would be to the human eye!
    (With these images, I have enchanced the brightness so it's more apparent)

  • How do I stop downloaded MP3s playing in the QuickTime Browser Plugin?

    I have a number of websites created in Flash, which are used to promote musicians and bands in Bristol, UK. I use Flash because it allows animations, music players, background music, and all the other features ideal for promotional websites.
    We offer MP3s for free download so our fans and followers can own some of our tracks.
    Up until last week, a link directly to an MP3 would launch the "Save As..." download dialogue, allowing users to save the files to their PC.
    However, since installing QuickTime 7, when you click on a link to an MP3 it now launches a nasty little embedded Quicktime player, which you can't save from or do anything useful with.
    This is absolutely useless as I already have streaming audio and a built-in music player in my site, and I can now no longer offer MP3 downloads. I don't want to have to start zipping my MP3s or anything hideous like that, does anyone know a way that I can stop this happening?
    I can't expect visitors to my sites to do anything, so I need some way of changing the URL so that it doesn't trigger the QT plugin.
    Would really appreciate some assistance as this has effectively ruined the most significant part of most of our websites.
    Thanks

    Ah, well, it was worth a try, but since you're clearly not actually reading my post - I'm using FLASH, as I clearly stated so you cannot right click.
    As for the QT Mime settings, what you are saying is woefully inaccurate, and once again you aren't reading what I am writing. Quicktime is not the default player for MP3s on my PC. And as of two days ago there was no QT MP3 browser plugin either. I installed Quicktime because I have to have it to play MOV files.
    By installing QT the program arbitrarily (that means it did it without any involvement or permission from me) took ownership of MP3s in the browser only. I know how MIME settings work, and I made absolutely sure that QT did not get it's hands on any of my filetypes. However, there is NOT an option to stop it playing MP3s in a browser, and it most definitely happened without my say so.
    There clearly isn't an answer to this, I'll either have to put my MP3s in Zips or use some elaborate code to generate a nasty HTML page so that you can (retch) Right Click, Save As. All this because the QuickTime player has made changes that it had absolutely no right to.
    Never mind, I'll find another way. But first, I'm uninstalling Quicktime forever.

  • Does creative plan to release a new mp3 play

    5 minutes ago a bought a Zen touch but noticed it was kinda outdated and i would really kick myself in the nads if creative releases a new mp3 player in about a month so are there any plans for a new one (one that just plays music and doesn't have all the extra features like video and pictures).
    The only thing that i don't like is the size it is kinda big.
    Hope creative has some plans on the near future

    Well the thing i didn't like about the sleek it was the battery and the thing it killed it for me is that i have to go to a menu to turn on the volume (i have a lot of songs that ha ve very differnt bitrate), so the only thing i found better was the desing, I kinda hope creative doesn't releases a new player and i kinda wish they would.
    I don't want to kick myself in the nads it really hurts!!!

  • Mp3 plays on iPod but not iPad?!

    I have a collection of .mp3 files loaded into iTunes as mediaKind: audiobook.
    They play just fine with my iPod Touch.
    They hang (with black screen) my iPad (played via the iPod app).
    Why???? Any fix known for this?
    P.S. I converted one track from mp3 to Apple Lossless format and that DOES play on the iPad. I would convert all the tracks to that format except that they take 3 times as much space (and like I said, they DO play on the iPod Touch).

    I've the same problem with some of my audiobooks...I can listen to them on my iPod, and though these audiobooks show up on my iPAD, I can't listen to them. The iPAD screen just goes black and nothing happens. I read from another post and David M Brewer suggested these steps:
    Try this;
    Open iTunes--->select the audiobook--->Command+i (get info)--->Option Tab--->Music Kind--->Pick Audiobook from the drop down menu--->Ok.
    But that still doesn't work. I also tried picking just "Book" from the drop down menu, still no luck.
    It'd be really nice if I can listen to all my audiobooks on any one of the devices I have so I don't have to lug both the iPOD and iPAD around. Any other suggestions to fix this?

  • MP3 plays in iTunes but not iPhone

    I have the iPhone 3G running 2.0.2 software. I have a bunch of .mp3 files that I loaded into iTunes and then sync'd with my iPhone. There is one mp3 that plays just fine in iTunes but will not play on my iPhone. When I select the song on the iPhone, the artwork shows up for a second but then it just skips to whatever the next song is. I tried deleting the song from iTunes and re-sync'ing my iPhone and verifying the song was no longer there, then re-adding the song back to iTunes and re-sync'ing my iPhone but it still just skips the song. There is nothing special about the mp3, it's 5.4mb, 128kbps, 44.100kHz, -9.8dB, MPEG-1 Layer 3. Any ideas?

    Thank you for your reply. Converting to AAC worked but why out of 653 mp3's, I ended up finding 13 different files that wouldn't play on iPhone until converted? Very odd. Does that "Consolidate Library" option in iTunes convert everything to AAC? I'm wondering if I should go ahead and do all my files. I'm wondering what the advantages/disadvantages are?

  • MP3 plays fine in Win Media Player, but won't import in iTunes

    I have this MP3 file in a folder on my hard drive. It plays fine in Win Media Player.
    If I "Add the Folder to Library" all other MP3 files in the folder come though fine but this one is left behind.
    If I use "Add File to Library" there is just a screen "flicker" but the file is not added.
    What could cause this? and how do I get the file into iTunes?
    TIA
    Gert
    Windows XP SP2

    Are you certain that the files in question are in fact MP3 files and not some other format?
    iTunes can play plain old MP3 files, but it cannot play proprietary schemes with digital rights management built in, and it cannot play WMA files.

  • MP3 plays fine in AS2, but not AS3

    I have this code written in AS2 to play an MP3:
    var my_sound:Sound = new Sound();
    my_sound.loadSound("
    http://download.podango.com/mediatracker/1/67943/ApplePhoneShow_46.mp3",
    true);
    Here is the code written in AS3:
    var snd:Sound = new Sound(new URLRequest("
    http://download.podango.com/mediatracker/1/67943/ApplePhoneShow_46.mp3"));
    snd.play();
    They both play the file, but the AS3 version is choppy.
    Why would this be?
    -bmorrise

    DVX100Shooter,
    I am having a very similar problem, except it is happening to ALL of my music. For your case, perhaps you could try exporting to WAV from Soundtrack Pro (not sure if that is an option), and then let iTunes encode the audio in whichever format you choose. There shouldn't be any loss in quality in doing that.
    As far as my situation, I have updated my iPod (5th Gen 80GB Video) to the latest firmware (v1.3), iTunes is completely updated, OS X v10.5 is completely updated. I have restored my iPod on both PC and Mac, but no luck. Basically, no matter what songs I put on my iPod (MP3s or Apple Lossless), nothing will play on the iPod. I can fully browse the library on the iPod, but when I select a song to play, it just sits at 0:00 forever. If I hook the iPod up to a computer, I can play the music off of it just fine, which indicates that the hard drive is working just fine. Adding however much music I want to works just fine. I even stumbled across the Diagnostics tests, all of which passed with no errors. To me, it just seems that the iPod wants to play the song, but for some reason the compressed data isn't getting through the decoder....or....the music is decompressed OK but won't go through the digital-to-analog converter. Anyone have any suggestions for either my or DVX100Shooter's case?

  • Need battery cover for muvo tx fm mp3 play

    Absentmindidly while changing the aaa battery, I thought that I could use the tab on the battery cover to dig out the battery. Of course it broke!?How would I get a new battery cover? I'm hoping to get the metallic blue cover, but anything would do.
    Nothing on ebay and customer support isn't working.
    Any ideas?

    To transfer files from a CD... I place the cd in tray, close it, open Creative MediaSource Organizer and rip the CD...now what are my settings? I have it set on WMA Stereo, DRM enabled, 28 Kb
    ps.
    Rip the tracks I want to my PC Music Library. Insert my mp3 player (hard calling it that as it yet has to play a track of anything), and set the Muvo TX FM as the destination source and transfer files. After transfer, close all windows, open My Computer, open Dri've F and there are my tracks...yeah, but wait. I safely remove hardware, and insert it into player and attempt to turn it on...3 seconds later...denied. SIGH. Okay, reinsert player, open Di've F...ohh surprise..not formatted. Click on my exe. with latest driver (see original post), reinstall original driver again. Reformat again using FAT not FAT32 per tech support. Safely remove hardware. Insert into player, turn on...yeah turns on, no music, but can access FM..okay so not a TOTAL waste of $$$. Reinsert into computer, open my computer, dri've F, empty file. It's recognized and formatted. OPen Creative MediaSource Organizer...transfer files..no error messages..repeat....repeat...repeat. Same result. Should I try FAT32? Should I try to rip a cd w/o using DRM enabled? Does the LCD screen need to come on when in usb port? I have not tried to rip CD's using WMP0 yet as CMsO came with the player. Is it better?Message Edited by drewj28 on 09--2006 09:38 PM

  • Why no mention of the stop button on mp3 playe

    im from the old scholl, belt and braces etc...
    bought this new mp3 thingy (zen touch) lovely bit of kit, 20mb and only ?25
    dosnt bother me its like a brick, im a bit big myself!
    played with it and and got ,000 songs on it, absolutley smashing
    only one small problem, wheres the STOP button :angry:
    i've looked and looked, cant find it, im pausing it, im switching it off
    but no sign of a bloody stop button, either on the machine or in the booklet
    so i register here and try a search, i find lots of questions about a stop button
    lots of good answers and it all make sense, but if its that obvious and makes complete sense
    why dont creative put it in the booklets?
    i dont want or need one, but i would like to know i dont want or need one
    why keep the information a secret?
    oh the touch is a the biz, love it

    hi trance
    thanks for the reply, sorry i rambled you may have missed my point
    i dont require a stop button, i quite like the fact that pause /play do the job better
    what i and others would like though, is somebody incuding it in big letters in the booklet
    a phrase like "oh for the dummies, theres no STOP button" and small explanation why
    thers 70 odd pages in the cd manual im sure somebody could fit that in.....
    cheers

    machine but online plays the song for a few seconds and then
    restarts the song. Then it plays completely. The next songs also
    have the same behavior.
    Has anyone encounter this estrange problem before? Do you

  • Random static in mp3s played or recorded.

    I get random moments of static when I am playing back from my mp3 collection and DLd mp3s from music store. The track will play fine for min or 2, then x-fade into static. Stop the track, play it again and it is fine, static goes away. Now this problem is intermit, and is not happening right at this moment. Could something from the net be causing this? This problem also happens to me when I am recording from my Technics using Bias Peak pro5 using my Delta 66 for my audio card. I am using the latest driver for this unit 2.0.5 and have never had this problem before Tiger. Though like I said, this problem happens at random moments. Could Dashboard be interfearing? I have my internet firewall on so the net should not be a problem. I also have my power saver settings set to off and the screen saver is off. Things that can mess up a recording. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Try re-ripping the tracks using a different program.
