Unrecoverable error

Trying to edit photos in Photoshop Elements 3.0 and got message "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error.  Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable.

In many cases, resetting the preferences fixes this issue.
Hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift when launching Photoshop Elements, if you get the timing right, you will be prompted to delete the setting file. Do so.
If you cannot get the dialog to appear, you can delete the file manually: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Photoshop Elements\[Version Number]\
Move the [Version Number] folder to the desktop and retry launching Photoshop Elements.

  • Photoshop CS5 unrecoverable error on opening

Photoshop CS5 pops up a an unrecoverable error, program must close error box when it opens.  If I uninstall and run in demo mode this doesn't happen, photoshop runs fine.  I put in my serial number (yes, it is a valid SN right off of my disc box) and open the program, error occurs.  This makes no sense, as the only difference is that the install is now licenced and not a demo. I'm running Windows 6 Pro 64bit on on intel core i7 processor.  Below is the event error log:  I've been running PS CS5 on this machine for months, this just started 2 days ago.

Well, that's what we're trying to figure out now, isn't it?
Why did you have to reinstall it?  Perhaps you have haven't overcome the original problem.
Since you're having a crash that came on when you added your serial number, that's what drove my attention in that direction.
I'm not versed in exactly what Photoshop requires for its licensing.  I just looked more closely and see that while the FLEXnet services I mentioned are on my system, they're not at the moment started.  Do you see them at all in the Task Manger Services tab?

  • Spell checker - unrecoverable error / envelope sizes

Probably due to microsoft updates ...
spell checker no longer works in Star
    Office (unrecoverable error notice). I
have to cut and paste into word, then
check spelling, then return text to Star
    Office.
Also envelope sizes do not print. Over
the years I have had problems like this
and they can usually be sorted out by
    changing size + landscape/portrate
settings. However, this is the worst
    envelope problem I have had.
Even if I simply try to create text on a
separate A5 sheet this is not what is
produced by the printer. My printer is not
the cause - though obviously if
    uncontrolled updates have affected the
printer software then that could be the
    reason.
Any solutions? It is so irritating when
things have been running so smoothly
for months even years, then suddenly big
problems arise due to 'improvements' in
    software.

  • "Unrecoverable error" when saving as jpeg - acrobat X

Unable to save PDF to Jpeg, getting the following error message: "Acrobat could not save a page in this document because of the following error:  Unrecoverable error". Used to work just fine ... this seems to have come up either after updating to Yosemite or after installing Photoshop and Bridge CC. Saving to other image formats works, so there are workarounds, but it is a nuisance. Ideas anyone?
    Acrobat 10 (10.1.12).
Mac Os 10.10.1 on MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2011)

    Hey Anubha,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I had tried with several PDF files but always got the same error message.
I've just tried again and noticed that the option has disappeared from the dropdown menu altogether! So under the "Save as" menu I now only get various pdf options but the lower section of it - which used to include "Image" is gone. I've attached a screenshot ...
    What to do?
    Thanks, kind regards,

  • Thesaurus loading + DRG-11510: encountered unrecoverable error on line 1

    Hi All
I want to load thesarus present in the oracle home directory, so from command prompt i gave 'ctxload' command and gave the required inputs as shown below.
    cmd prompt
    D:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ctxload
    Enter user: ctxsys/ctxsys@mind2
    Enter name: default
    Enter file: E:\app\Administrator\product\11.1.0\db_1\ctx\sample\thes\dr0thsus.txt

    ORA-00931: missing identifier
    Disconnected
Can anyone tell what is the error?
Do we have to create a thesaurus 'default' before only and then load it using 'ctxload' command?
Please can anybody explain how to create and load a thesarus?
    Thank You

It appears it is expecting "ctxload -thes", not just "ctxload", even though "-thes" is not listed as part of the required syntax. It also requries that the default thesaurus does not already exist, so if you have one, then drop it. Below I have first reproduced your error, then added "-thes" with an already existing default thesaurus, showing what happens then, then dropped the default thesaurus, then demonstrated a correct load.

    One detail:
I use Vcloud from my work, so I changed iPv4 addresses of machines. For example, DC1 192.168.2.101,
Internet names are 192.169.2.101 and so on.
I mean it is fine that IP addresses differ from mentioned in guide

  • Unrecoverable error generating exported catalog

I am getting an unrecoverable error when trying to export the whole catalog from 1.3 (error also occurs on the new 1.3.1)
the error message is unrecoverable error generating exported catalog
I have also tried to import the catalog into a new catalog and export that but that still gives the same error.
this error is occurring when I try to export all the photos in the catalog.
Any help would be grateful in correcting this error as I really need to export the whole database to my external drive for a trip thats coming up in a week.
    Cheers

I was also getting the "unrecoverable error generating exported catalog" using Lightroom 1.3.1 on WinXP from a particular catalog (I could export from other catalogs fine). It didn't matter if I was exporting one image or 1000, it still failed with the same, useless, "something really bad happened" error message.
I tried optimizing, doing integrity checks, but still no dice. What did work, though, was to create a new (empty) catalog, then import the suspect catalog (if your catalog is big, expect a long wait). I was then able to do my export successfully from the new (hopefully equivalent) catalog. I'll make the new catalog my primary after assuring myself that I didn't lose anything in the process.
Of course, YMMV, but it's worth a try.

    Hi,
I had faced this problem a while ago. But i am not sure about the error message. But in my case rpc service was not enabled.
I dont know if thats a problem in your case. But in that case you can confirm it by running rpcinfo and make sure the startup script S71rpc is present in rc2.d.

  • I'm getting frequent Unrecoverable Errors.  How do I stop this?

I'm getting frequent Unrecoverable Errors.  Using Firefox 23.0.1 on a Mac with OS 10.6.8.
By frequent I mean, several times a day. This crashes Story every time it happens.

    Hi ,
Apologies for the inconvinience you are facing. It would be great if you could provide the following details to help us resolve this issue -
    1) If you face the crash again please send us the crash log. This can be seen by opening the 'See report details' twirly on the 'Unrecoverable error' dialog. Perform a simple copy paste of its content and mail it to 'rjindal at adobe dot com'
    2) Is this happening while you are working with a specific script or with all the scripts you work on. In case its a single script please perform 'File -> Save to disk' while you have the script open. This will save a '.stdoc' file of your script. Send this file to rjindal at adobe dot com.
    3) Also is there some specific action that your perform which results in this crash?
Meanwhile, it would be good to keep saving your script at regular intervals.
    Thanks
    Rashi

VMware crashes when loading VMware Player unrecoverable error: (vmx) NOT_IMPLEMENTED d:/build/ob/bora-203739/bora/vmx/main/pollVMX.c:3981

    Hi,
Please next time do not post a full log as content of the post, instead use the browse button to attach as file.
Also add a little bit of background information, like if you installed fresh, has it worked before, has anything changed, what is your host OS?
The relevant part in your log appears to be:
May 18 12:10:07.330: player-3900| Cnx_Connect: Error message: Failed to read vmware-authd port number: Cannot connect to VMX: C:\Users\Columbus\Documents\Virtual Machines\Windows XP Home Edition\Windows XP Home Edition.vmx

    May 18 12:10:07.423: player| ----Win32 exception detected, exceptionCode 0xc0000005 (access violation)----
Either you have some security software (firewall, antimalware, antivirus) not allowing VMware Player to connect to the vmware-authd port or your install is broken and you have to rerun the install (uninstall, reboot, install, reboot)

I recommend you open a support case with your MDS service provider. I believe that the MDS needs to be replaced.

I just replaced the power supply. Now I get a message that reads: "102-System Board Failure. Unrecoverable error. Your computer needs servicing."
    What does this mean?

    MHM30F10, welcome to the forum.
It is difficult to know exactly what has happened.  However, I suspect that there has been damage to the motherboard while installing the power supply unit (PSU).  It could be that there is an incorrect connection, also.
