In the last month this began to slow and act oddly. Using Windows 7 system. Explorer is operating normally.
Now I click on Firefox and nothing happens. Uninstalled the program and reinstalled it with no change in the outcome. What do I do?

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with a QuickTime program file there.
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "QuickTime" and then click "Repair".
Does the repair go through okay? If so, are you able to launch iTunes and/or Safari now?

This sounds the same as my issue. I was browsing in Firefox v6.0 last night and all of a sudden it closed with no notice or error message. When I tried to open FF I received the messaga; We're Sorry - Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts." I does not restart. I have been using IE to browse for a solution and nothing works other than opening as administrator. Now this problem is only on one of my laptops and is fine on my desktop and other laptops so it appears to be something specific to my laptop which is running Window XP Home and Service Pack 3.
Some suggestions were to change the profile (did not work), end the firefox.exe process in task manager (not running in processes) and delete an xpicleanup.exe (not listed).
The only thing that works is to run as administrator but I have to do this everytime. Is ther a solution?

I am unable to open iTunes on my pc. I tried uninstalling QuickTime and reinstalling and it did not work. Then I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled, and still it will not open. Whether I try through the icon or through the programs menu, it just will not open. Any tips?

quit iTunes and QuickTime.
bring up your Protection Center and click on Norton Personal Firewall. click the configure button.
make sure that all of:
Apple Software Update (May be called just "Software Update")
Apple iTunes (or "iTunes")
iTunes Helper
QuickTime Player (or "Apple QuickTime Player")
... are all being allowed full access to the internet.
okay out of the tab, and try launching iTunes again.

Sounds like an infection on the machine, not a FF issue. Run a virus scan by going to your anti-virus program yourself. NEVER click on any pop-ups that warn you of a virus even the red "x" to close it. Viruses can spoof the look and feel of legitimate dialogs and can even activate if clicking the "x" instead of closing. Simply ignore them, then run a scan manually.
Also, I've seen some recent redirects that send you to a spoof site that looks like WinXP "My Computer" page and shows that you have "viruses" with a click to scan or clean option. But this isn't My Computer, it's just a web page designed to infect you. Just close that page or tab.

I had tried that but I never was quick enough!!! ended up fixing it by going to the enclosed folder in finder ~/library ,find photoshopCS6 settings , rename the folder to include old, as in settings.old and then start up PS , all working!!!! Just purchased Elements 12. installs Premier and APPEARS to install elements but Elements wont start. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.

It seems that the root cause of the problem is that Adobe workflows is not compatible with the newest versions of AIR (2.0.0 and above)
This should be something that Adobe can fix quite easily. Its not a good first impression for Adobe customers to have a fresh install which seems to not work properly.
If any Adobe representatives read this, I hope this issue will be addressed and a solution provided to the wider Adobe community

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. In my Program files list I see iTunes and iTunes (2) and even iPod and iPod (2) where a tech had to back up and do this for me before. I'm just trying to fix it all. I can even run a search and find the folder, but it gives me the same error message. I was planning on using the Microsoft Fix-It tool to help uninstall then Reinstall iTunes. But I need to backup my library. So, how do I copy or back up my iTunes library of over 1,500 songs? Can I copy the folder to desktop or can I use a Flash Drive to backup my music? Ok, thanks that helps. I don't have an external hard drive though. What about backing up through 'the cloud'? I'm just wondering since my husband syncs his iPod to the PC through iTunes and he's worried that he will lose all the songs on his iPod if the library is lost from iTunes and he tries to 'sync' it up again. I'm not exactly sure how to 'copy the entire iTunes folder' either. I kinda suck at this unless I have step by step instructions, which I haven't found yet on iTunes help or other sources.
