Unsendable email error panel runs off bottom edge of my small MacBook pro. Cannot move or reduce the error panel to access the functional part of it.
HELP!
I crafted an email for a club I belong to. I filled the blind copy address area with a large list of email addresses. The message did not send, the server (Earthlink) rejected my list of addresses. I am on a small Macbook pro laptop running OS X and the rejected email list goes below and beyond the desktop space. The area on the error panel that has functionality is out of reach and the mail window won't allow me to get to it. I am stuck with an unsendable email on my desktop. I can't delete it, the red button in the upper left corner is off, inactive. The sizing function in the lower right will make the email window smaller but the "Cannot send using this server" panel with the long list of emails remains the same size with the part I need to access running off the bottom out of reach.
The unsendable email comes back when I force quit. It comes back when I restart. I am at my wits end.
Hope there is help for this.
I'm bumping this back up. Does anyone have a solution for this? It's making me crazy, too!

I keep on getting this error when i try to copy files to my 2T Time Capsule, Please help im running out of space on my MacBook Pro....
The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)I would get an external drive today and copy all your stuff off the TC.. forget trying to load more onto it. There is a good chance after 3years (A 2TB should be only about 2years tops), the disk or the TC itself is on the way out. Do it immediately. If TM is also failing to backup you need to recognise symtoms of impending doom.
Unfortunately the error messages are archane and it is hard to discover their meaning.
You also cannot verify a network drive.. you can verify the TM sparsebundle though so do that.
A5. http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
Reboot the whole network from off.. certainly if you run later OS it can simply lose the drive..
If you still fail to be able to copy to the TC.. then get that external and copy off it. Tell us if you can do that. -
my husband has 1 of the newer macbook pros that runs off of lion and know his computer wont let him get past the starting screen it keeps telling him to put in a bootible disk he cant use his key board or anything what should he do?
Hi...
Use Lion Recovery to repair the startup disk if necessary, or reinstall the Mac OS X.
he cant use his key board
You'll need to use a wired (USB) keyboard. -
I have a new MacBook Pro. I keep getting the message "Mail would like to use your keychain "login". How can I make this stop? I have run the keychain repair utility.
Hi,
With the Finder as the Front app go to the Go Menu > GO to Folder.
Copy and Paste the bold text below into the text field
~/Library/Keychains
Highlight the Keychain.
Use the CMD + i Keys together (Keystrokes for Get Info from the File Menu)
In the Info Panel that appears check the Ownership and Permission bit at the bottom.
Example Pic
Unlock Padlock
Check your Shortmname Appears (the (Me) one).
Open the Cogwheel icon
If it is Greyed Out to "Make "Shortname (Me)" owner then you are the Owner.
Check you have Read and Write Permissions.
You may need to check the Ownership and Permission on the ~/Library itself (you can do the same Get Info on Folders as well as Files)
If you don't Own it then, when you have changed that also Apply to Contents.

How do I get my email address recently changed on my account in iTunes on my MacBook Pro to show up on the sign-on notice on my iPad (4th gen)? It reflects my old email address and therefore won't recognize my password. When I try to do something on the App Store on my iPad, it brings up a notice to sign on, which reflects the old email address, and rejects my password since the username/email address is no longer correct. Puzzled!
I have another question for the community. My daughter tells me that my texts to her show my primary email address as the account name of the sender (me) when I text her, rather than my cell phone number from which I'm texting her. I've had others report that to me too. How do I turn that off so that recipients see my cell phone number displayed as the sending party and not my email address? Thanks -

Trying to set up iCloud on my MacBook Pro, and I get to the point where it tells me to view my email for further instructions on verification of my account, but there is no such email in my inbox, even after submitting multiple requests to resend the email. Any idea what I can do? Mark
Well, running on a 2006 model. I did not have a startup disc. Initially, it booted up on original software in 2006. Since then, I've upgraded to 10.6 via a box set. And, since then I think I popped it up to lion.
All I have on a disc is snow leopard. And, I can't get farther than the setup screen due to hard drive. I'm taking to a apple authorized repair store right now. We'll see what they tell me . I'm just going to weigh the cost of repair vs. buying new.
Another bad, stupid thing is I had no means of backing up my stuff. So, I might have lost things like music, vids, etc. we'll see if they can recover. If the cost is too much for repair I might just forget it and start over with a new system. Just not sure at this point. -
It's some time the monitor of my MacBook Pro presents dark zones at the bottom. I suppose it depends on the lamps. Do you confirm? Is there anything I should do before calling for assistance?

You can run the Apple Hardware Test.
I agree with Carolyn. If that doesn't show anything, Apple has more comprehensive tests. Call an Apple Store and make an appointment with the "genius" bar (free). I don't think an SMCReset is going to help in this situation, but if it was my Mac, I'd try it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 -
I cannot connect to my outgoing email server on my macBook pro, yet I can, for the same email account on my iPad. Also I can send emails from the other email account I have on my MacBook...really confused can anyone help?
Sometimes deleting the account and then re-creating it can solve this issue
Write down all the information in accounts before doing this
Highlight the account on the left and click the minus button
Then click the plus button to add the new account and follow the prompts -
I think I finished installing Mountain Lion, and am at the "log in" page with the Mountain Lion icon, but I cannot do any of the functions on screen. That is, I cannot log in, sleep, restart, or shut down. I am running it on an Early 2009 Macbook Pro, which is said to have the capabilities of running Mountain Lion.

...Is there any way I can install a partition that runs snow leopard on my early 2011 MB pro with what I have (new SSD, New RAM, Current version Lion running, no external drive, lack of original snow leopard disks [I lost them ] and the general 10.6.3 snow leopard boot disks)...
As the last post suggests, call Apple and order a replacement original disc for about $17. They will ask you the model and serial numbers.
Your retail version of Snow Leopard OS 10.6.3 will not work on that Mac as it requires a minimum of OS X 10.6.7 to boot and operate.
Another alternative is to again borrow another Mac to install your retail Snow Leopard into an external HD or partition, upgrade it to 10.6.8 and then clone it back to a partition on your MBP. -
My MacBook Pro won't connect to the Internet via wifi but it worked fine on ethernet cord...I tried running diagnostic but it didn't work:(((( it happen every time if I restart the modem and/or router.. Any idea how to fix this?
Hello Rattisate,
Sorry to hear you are not able to connect to Wi-Fi on your MacBook Pro. I would be concerned about this too. You can find information on how to troubleshoot this in the following article:
Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues in OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4628
Follow the steps in the section labeled, "Symptom: My Mac does not connect to the Internet."
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

I am running version 10.7.5 on my MacBook Pro. can I upgrade directly to Mavericks or do I have to upgrade to Mountain Lion first, then Mavericks?
As long as your MacBook Pro is in the ML compatible list, http://www.apple.com/osx/specs it is compatible with Mavericks and you can go directly to Mavericks.

I have a 1st Gen, MacBook Pro from 2006. For the last few years I've had to us my power adaptor as my battery no longer works, and shuts down after 30 seconds it. Now my power adaptor looks like it's coming to an end. Even though it's securely fitted, it often switches off.
I am planning on buying a new MacBook Pro later this year, but for the meantime I'm not sure if I should buy a new power adaptor, or if this is a problem with my MacBook Pro. Also does anyone know where I can buy a battery in the UK for 1st Gen MacBook Pro.OWC has batteries for 1,1 generation MacBook Pros and they ship internationally - http://eshop.macsales.com/.
Your best bet for a power adapter is to get one from Apple. Third-party adapters just don't seem to be reliable (or safe). You can also buy a replacement battery directly from Apple, of course, but they're a bit more expensive.
Good luck,

Can I run Quickbooks Contractor for Windows on my Macbook Pro with Bootcamp ?
Can I easily run Quickbooks Contractor for Windows in my Macbook Pro and exchange QB data files with my accountant ?
You can run any Windows program once you install Windows on your computer using either Boot Camp assistant or a VM like Fusion, Parallels, or VirtualBox.

I am currently running OSX 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro. Can I upgrade straight to Yosemite and if I can what issues will I face?
1. It depends on what Mac model you have. If it's incapable of running Yosemite, installing an intermediate version won't help with that.
2. You'll lose the ability to run PowerPC software, and some other programs may also be incompatible. If something goes wrong, you might lose data; back your computer up first. There aren't any issues specifically associated with skipping versions.

I've ordered a new mac book pro 15" and i need to clean hard drive off my old PC...not really to move them to the mac, but just to save in case needed; mostly pics and office docs....any suggestions?
Buy an external USB hard drive and copy your data to it. Either that or burn them all to single or double layer DVDs (depending on amount of data you have). Or if it's really a small amount, consider putting it all on a USB memory stick.
