  • Unsharp mask filter

I need to do an unsharp mask filter in Lightroom 5 but can not find the filter menu anywhere! Can someone please tell me where the filter menu is???

    Hi LWoods,
Take a look at this video tutorial on how to do sharpening in Lightroom. As the two previous posters have noted, there is no unsharp mask in Lightroom, and using the Clarity slider is a good alternative:

  • Download Mask/Filter for BLOB

    Hi,
    I use APEX: 4.2.
I have got a problem to display the Download link (button) in a classic report to open the uploaded file. I have got two columns in the report: FILENAME and ATTACHMENT. The second is the BLOB type column in my table.
My Report query is: select FILENAME, ATTACHMENT from QTMT_TICKETS where TICKET_ID = :P10_TICKET_ID The report display the name of the uploaded file and the second column display: [datatype].
I added a Mask/Filter to the second column in my report: DOWNLOAD:QTMT_TICKETS:ATTACHMENT:TICKET_ID::MIMETYPE:FILENAME:ATTACH_LAST_UPDATE::Attachment:Download But then I got error: report error: ORA-01403: no data found , the Column Attributes is set to: Standard Report Column.
The upload looks good. I got populated in my table all four mandatory fields for the BLOB (ATTACHMENT, MIMETYPE, FILENAME, ATTACH_LAST_UPDATE).
Could you please let me know what I do wrong?
    Thank you and best regards,
    Vladimir

As described in the documentation, the download link column in the report must provide the length of the BLOB:
    >
To facilitate the inclusion of a download link in a report, the report includes the selection of the length of the BLOB (for example, dbms_lob.getlength(RESUME)). If the length is 0, the BLOB is NULL and no download link is displayed.

The report query should therefore be something like:
    select FILENAME, dbms_lob.getlength(ATTACHMENT) attachment from QTMT_TICKETS where TICKET_ID = :P10_TICKET_ID

  • Spam Filter for iPad?

Is there a way to filter the iPad Mail app for spam?

Selecting an email for deletion is not the equivalent to opening the email.
You can select an email for deletion without opening the email.
You can also turn Load Remote Images off. When remote images are rendered from a server when opening an email is how an email address is determined to be known good by a spammer.

  • Equivalent to PS Unsharp Mask?

As I learned From Scott Kelby, it's rare to ever come across a digital image or scan that doesn't benefit from Photoshop's Unsharp Mask filter. So for all my important shots, I will run them through this filter and I love the results.
Is there an equivalent to this in Aperture, so I don't have to go out to PS? Additionally, the file sizes that PS creates are massive, which is not good (I understand why, I've looked this up in other threads, altough, Lightroom does not do this from what I read..).
Thanks, for any feedback you can provide.
    Craig

The older sharpening filter (the one that doesn't have 'edge' in the name is fairly similar to USM. Note that using it with a high radius is going to bog down the computer whenever you view the image, much like highlight & shadows adjustments.

  • Is there a way to sharpen or apply unsharp mask to the entire image?

I know there is a sharpening brush under the affects brushes, but is there a way to apply a sharpening or unsharp mask filter to an entire image or layer? This would be very helpful.
    Thanks, David

Thanks so much. Sorry I missed that first time around.

there is no filter function in numbers for ipad, its very discouraging,as a ipad fan, even nokia lumia providing filter function in excel in there low cost mobile.
APPLE KINDLY PROVIDE THIS FEATURE AS UPDATE SOON,COZ I WORK ON EXCEL N NUMBERS IN MY IPAD IS DEAD WITH OUT FILTER FUNCTION,I CAN NOT TRAVEL WITH MY IPAD DUE TO THIS REASON,AS I HAVE TO BE IN FIELD WITH SALES FORCE SO I BOUGHT IPAD.

Probably you know that the new version of Numbers for iOS uses the filters created in the Numbers for Mac version.
It's not the best solution but it helps (of course, if you have a Mac!)

  • Default Setting for Unsharp Mask (Threshold) ???

    Hello again...
Was attempting to clean up a photo enlargement last nite utilizing 'Unsharp Mask'...inadvertantly changed the 'Threshold' setting in the dialog window...& failed to notice what this setting was previously engaged at.
[this happens to me every so often, aamof.]
so...I'm using Photoshop CS3. What is the default number for this setting ???
(or...perhaps more importantly...how does one return *all* such dialog settings in Photoshop back to factory default ???)
    Thanks very much,
    Mark Forman

    The settings should be experimental/interactive:
    1) Set Threshold=0
    2) Set Amount=200% or even more
    3) Increase Pixels from 0.5 until halos are clearly visible
    at edges
    4) Decrease Amount until the halos are just not disturbing
    5) Increase Threshold until smooth areas are not affected,
but sharper edges are still enhanced
For typical digital images with 3000x2000 pixels:
    Amount=100% Pixels=1 Threshold=8
So far my interpretation of the recipes in Dan Margulis'

  • Photoshop CS5 64 Extended, Freezez After Filter-Unsharp Mask

    Hello Every One.
Something very strange is happening, When I click on Filter-Sharpen-Unsharp Mask, suddenly, Photoshop Freezes. I have never had this problem before very strange. When I use the regular Photoshop CS5 Extended It works ok.
    Thanks
    Simon

There are two things you can do, one of which stands a good chance of clearing the problem:
    1.  Update your display driver from the web site of the maker of your video card.
    2.  Clear Photoshop 64 bit's preferences by pressing and holding Control - Shift - Alt immediately after cold-starting Photoshop.  If you're quick enough, it will prompt you to delete your current preferences.

  • Can I set up a spam filter for my iPad like I have on my Mac?

Can I set up a spam filter for my iPad like I have on my Mac?

The Mac OS X Mail application has a "Junk" function that works locally, on the Mac, and just puts emails from previously designated "junk" addresses into a separete folder, so you don't have to wade thru all that spam in your Inbox. It's a very elegant and simple, local solution, that I dearly miss on iOS.
I did submit a request for it at Apple Feedback page.

  • Require unsharp mask for web photo sharing?

    Hi,
I have a few hundred very high resolution photos that I will size down for an online photo album. After I run the batch process to resize them all, is it recommended that I do an unsharp mask command on all of them? And if yes, is there any add-on for PSE 5 that allows me to do a batch command on so many photos?
    Thanks, Vlad

    Vlad,
I find that sharpening my images after downsampling for Email/Web display is a big improvement. It's easy to overdo it, though on the small image. I usually set the the radius to around 0.7 pixels and the Amount to around 70 for images that are reasonably sharp.

  • Unsharp Mask on Adjustment Layer crushing whites during fade?

I'm using Premiere CS6 with video footage from a Canon T2i. However, the issue appears regardless of the video source.
When I apply a Film Dissolve to a clip in the timeline, then add an Adjustment Layer with an Unsharp Mask on a track above the clip, the whites in the clip appear to become crushed over the length of the transition, while still fading to black. This does NOT happen if I use a Sharpen filter instead of an Unshark Mask, and if I apply the Unsharp Mask to the clip directly instead of using an Adjustment Layer. Fading with another clip looks normal as well, the whites only get crushed when fading to black.
If the problem had to do with the Film Dissolve processing in a linear color space, then I would expect similar results with the Sharpen filter. Likewise, if the problem had to do with the Unshark Mask, then I would expect to see the same thing when it is applied to the clip directly.
Any ideas? I appriciate the help!

Looks like a bug. Thanks. I'll escalate it.
Workaround looks good, so thanks for that too! Nice find.

I think it has to do with blend modes, but can't say for sure.

  • Error Compiling when using RGB Color Corrector and Unsharp Mask

If I apply the RGB Color Corrector and and Unsharp mask to a clip within a sequence and try to render the sequence or a small portion of the work area I get the Error Compiling: Unknown error.
This is occurring within a project I have updated to Premiere CS6 from Premiere CS5.
I have tried creating a new sequence and importing the same clip and other clips.  Anytime I try to use both the Unsharp Mask and RGB Color Corrector I am unable to render.  I have tried this with Mercury Playback both in hardware and software modes with the same result.
Has anyone else seen something like this?

Okay, glad this occurs for others too and I am not experiencing something isolated. The issue here is this shouldn't be happening at all.
Premiere CS5 has no problem with this.
Yeah if I turn off one effect or the other no problem.  Unfortunately it doesn't matter the order I place the effects in I get the same error regardless of which is placed first.
Nesting does work.  If I create a sequence, apply one or the other to the clip in the sequence then embed the sequence in another sequence and apply the remaining filter to the sequence containing the clip then I can get my color correction and edge definition.  But this is a work around.
There seems to a bug here since there were no issues when using RGB Color Corrector and Unsharp Mask simultaneously applied to one clip in CS5.  I doubt there will be a fix for this anytime soon so it looks like I will have to use another method for color correcting or apply RGB color correction to clips already embedded in a sequence as I move forward into solely using CS6.
(How this can become an issue is that after applying effects and color correction to several clips within a sequence I like to render that entire sequence.  Then this sequence is ebedded in another main sequence and I can add additional effects and transitions and overlays without killing the live playback speed and only have to render smaller amounts of content from additional tracks.  It ends up saving a lot of time after the initial length of rendering.)
    Thanks for the suggestions.

  • Fade unsharp mask

This tutorial applies the filter 'unsharp mask' on the 'stone texture copy' layer (pic 1). After that the same filter on the layer beneath 'stone texture'(pic 2). After this: Edit-Fade Unsharp Mask (pic 3+4). I'm doing exact the same steps but I don't get this 'Fade Unsharp Mask' but only 'Fade..' and this is greyed out. If you notice he uses the unsharp filter on the stone texture and not the masks.
I tried this in cs3 and cs2 and both give the same result.
Anyone can help me with this?

@Phos±four dots, this is from the dvd Photoshop Topsecret.
    The image link:

@Dave, I don't know what you mean? I directly go to edit-fade menu after applying the unsharp filter on the stone texture layer.
If I apply the unsharp filter on the layer mask itself, thus not the stone texture, I do get the fade unsharp mask option but this has no effect. When I apply any other filter on the stone texture I do get the fade option for that filter.
