Unshuffling songs

My Ipod nano is set to shuffle albums in the settings, but after I selected shuffle songs in the main menu it shuffles songs in my playlists every time, even when I don't want it to. How do I stop this? Also, does shuffling songs permanently change the order of songs in my playlists?

My music on my Ipod is broken into Playlists. In settings I set shuffle to "album". When I go to a playlist, I don't select shuffle songs, the songs get shuffled within the playlist anyway. What I wanted to do was have another playlist start as soon as the current one stops. I use the ipod mostly when jogging so it would be nice not to have to play around with the settings while I'm working out.

My ipod shuffle is autofilling, but when I try to listen to the songs, they are being shuffled. And I DO NOT have it on shuffle mode. I looked on my itunes and under the songs on my shuffle, and they are autofilled on it shuffled! I looked everywhere I could find and I have no clue how to resolve the issue. Select your Shuffle in the iTunes Source List. Now, in the Autofill portion of the iTunes screen (at the bottom), be sure that "Choose Songs Randomly" is not selected.

Song order on playlists unshuffled on synced iPod...

Today I synced my iPod, and discovered that it had put songs in several - but not all - of my playlists (NOT smart playlists) in artist order, not in the "shuffled" state I left them in last night, and which were preserved last night when I synced. I do not know why this happened! I checked the playlists in itunes, and the songs were in the same order as they were yesterday, which is how I want them. Then I was able to re-sync the iPod after opening one playlist, and it transferred the songs in the correct order. Does anyone have any experience with this? It only started today, as far as I can tell. Thank you!

My music plays on a loop one song at a time

Since the last phone upgrade, I've noticed that songs play on a loop one at a time,therefore, you have to keep pressing the next button to hear another song. Please can someone tell me how to stop this so that I can play all songs and not one at a time

Hi thank you for that, but unfortunately, the screen is not as it used to be, therefore not showing the duration of songs nor the unshuffle button as previously.
The screen only shows the song you are playing, and at the bottom there is the previous stop/play and next and volume control nothing else!

After creating a new playlist, song is added to the playlist multiple times

I have an iPhone 5, and created a new playlist. When I start the playlist, no matter what song I click on, it defaults to the first song in the playlist, and adds about 20 "ghost" copies of the song. I'm running iOS 6.1.4.

Well I fixed it. Opened the playlist, shuffled the song, played a song, unshuffled the playlist, and now it's normal. Weird

Unshuffling albums on iOS 5

Since I updated to iOS 5 I've just noticed that I no longer have the option of having the songs on the albums shuffled or unshuffled... It's actually driving me insane. Any answers or help would be awesome!

Sorry, but no one who would know can discuss unreleased software such as iOS 5 in these forums. We'll have to wait, probably for the official release, before such details will be known.

ITunes issue on IPhone 5s - songs don't show up

I upgraded the operating system on my iPhone 5s to 8.1.2. I manually synced songs from an old Macbook Pro with ITunes 11.4 (the most recent version). (I can not update to iTunes 12 because my computer is not supported.) The issue is that 11 voice memos that were synced to the iPhone 5s do not show up. They do not show up as songs by the "song titles" I gave them or as the "voice memo" genre. The playlist I created for them shows up as empty. These voice memos were originally recorded on the iPhone 5s. The weird thing is that when I plug the iPhone 5s into my Macbook Pro via USB, the voice memos show up as having been transferred. I have tried reboot the iPhone and resetting it.

After hours of resync-ing and rebooting, I figured out what was going on. The voice memos are on the phone but they only show up in the voice memo app. They do not show up in the iTunes app. I don't need to play them in iTunes so this solves the problem for me. Hopefully, my experience will save someone else some time.

ITunes saves dropped songs to wrong folder

Because of the size of my MP3 ad WAV music collection, I store my song files onto a SAS RAID array instead in my user's Music folder. The path to this folder ls "/Volumes/Audio Storage/Music". This has worked fine for quite a while, but I've built a new Lion system for audio work and things have gotten odd.
My starting settings in the Advanced section are both Keep iTunes folder organizaed and Copy files off. I then drag and drop the folder into the Music panel of iTunes and after a few minutes, all 50K± songs are imported. I then go into preferences and eable Copy Songs for any new music. Last night I imported Fr/action's entire library and the import succeeded, but this morning I noticed that the songs had been imported int9o a new Music folder within my specified folder - "/Volumes/Audio Storage/Music/Music". While doesn't present a problem with playback or logically managing the collection, I'm curious as to why iTunes added the new folder instead of just copying the new group / album / song hierarchy into the defined folder?
Is this a bug, or am I missing some setting?

Hi I am having similar problems.
I recently bought an external hard drive that i wish to run my music and itunes library off of, i have an ipod and iphone 3gs. I am having problems with it not updating the apps in the folder i have a designated and sending all updates to a newly created folder (which i have deleted) in the c drive being music in an itunes folder, But i want it to go to the external hard drive. My itunes importing and all files have been moved to this external hard drive. itunes is being completely run off the external being installed on there as i thought that might be why its creating this folder on the c drive, with itunes library.itl, itunes extras and genius.itdb, and itunes music library.xml

I tried to sync some new songs bought from iTunes into my ipod using my laptop, (for the first time). It would not add the new songs to the ipod. I tried several times, with same result. I never had this problem using my desk top computer.

I also am having a problem with the songs I purchased using the laptop not showing on the desk top itunes, even though it is authorized to do so. The new songs did show up on the iPad iTunes, however. Have no idea why. I thought this happened automatically.

How do you delete duplicate songs from your iPhone that do not show up in your iTunes library?

everytime i purchase songs on itunes and sync them to my iphone 4, the songs downloads twice. one as the actual song, and the second one doesnt do anything. when you click on it, it just skips to the next song and doesnt play anything. also this second song has this cirlce dot thing next to it when i am scrolling through my songs in my music...so how do i get rid of this second download? its really annoying to have and it wont let me delete it off my phone. alsoooo since it doesnt show up in my itunes library, i cant delte it off there either! HELP PLEASE

On the springboard, locate the app you want to delete. For this example, I’ll use WeatherBug.
Tap and hold down the icon of the application you want to delete. After a few seconds your screen will start to “wiggle” and an X will appear next to each of the apps you’ve installed via the App Store.
Tap the X next to the icon of the app you want to remove. When prompted, selectDelete.
And now it’s gone.
If the application is listed in your iTunes Applications as well, you’ll want to remove it from there – or else it will re-install the next time you sync. Alternately you can keep the app in your iTunes Applications, and set iTunes not to sync all applications, just the ones you want to keep. Songs that I have purchased are missing in iTunes (file not found/exclmation point), and do not show up in the iTunes Store for download.

I have a laptop that has (or had) pretty much all of my music, both burned from CDs and downloaded from iTunes. My 17 year old son on occasion syncs his iPhone and iPad with this laptop. As of the last sync (as best I can determine), many songs that I purchased in the past few years are now missing, in that they have an exclamation point to the left of the song title, and when I try to play the song, I get an error message that says "The song could not be used because the original file could not be found" or something to that effect. As it turns out, the file seems to be erased. This has happened multiple times, and I could be wrong, but I believe that there are some songs that had the exclmation point last time he synced that now don't, and vice-versa. There is not an obvious correlation or grouping as to why these songs are missing (e.g,. they were not all purchased on the same date, not all songs from one artist are missing, etc.).
Since most of these songs have been purchased through iTunes through my account, my reaction was to go to the iTunes store, log in with my account, and re-download them. Problem is, all of these songs instead ask me to purchase the song, instead of displaying a "cloud" logo. Therefore, it appears that I have to re-purchase these songs, which does not sound correct.
Questions: Does anyone know, most importantly (to get an immediate fix):
1. How can I re-download these songs and why doesn't iTunes Store recognize that I have already purchased them?
and perhaps as important (more of a long-term question):
2. Why does this happen and how can I prevent this from happening again (since it has happened multiple times)?

1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

Downloaded ios7 to my iphone 4 and now I have songs that I cannot delete and they do not show up on itunes either

Daughter upgraded to ios 7 and now she has like 4 songs that are not age appropriate on her iphone- I went into itunes and they dont show up...they are like hidden or something- and I cannot delete them from the phone...does anyone know why the upgrade did this and how I can get these songs off her phone- one of them is not even on my phone so I dont understand how in the world it popped onto hers! thanks!

You can delete a song or album from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch at any time. Don't worry; it'll still be in the cloud.
Tap the Music app.
Tap More > Songs at the bottom.
Scroll or search for the song you would like to delete from your device.
Swipe right to left on the song, and then tap Delete.
Note: You must be in Artists, Songs, or Albums view to delete songs from your device. Deleting from a playlist won't remove a song from your iOS device.

Itunes match has removed my playlists from itunes and my iphone. Not only that, many of the songs 'matched' on itunes do not show up on my iphone. Seriously annoyed, wish I'd never paid for it

iTunes Match does not have the ability to remove local files.
The service operates by comparing the selected iTunes Library with the iTunes Store content and 'matching' or 'uploading' - it is very straightforward a 'match' provides equivalent access to iTunes Store content as a recognised 'purchase'; upload simply copies a 256k AAC variant into the cloud. There are no elements of this activity that can erase the local library content.
Would suggest you explore possible alternative causes of file loss. Given the pattern described of selective deletion, leaving many Songs intact - would suggest making at least 2 secure offline Song file backups and starting the library again from a fresh install of iTunes once a thorough sweep of the system has been completed for virus. It is also worth assessing the physical security of the system - who has access & with what privileges.
To access Songs from the cloud, you would have to manually delete the Song from the library or open an empty library - so even when accessing content, iTunes Match provides no local deletion capability.
