[unsolvable] ff 3.6 +nspluginwrapper-flash = flickering when scrolling

Im using nspluginwrapper-flash cuz 64-bit flashplugin was always very laggy for me.
I'm getting pretty annoying flickering of every flash content when scrolling page.
Checked with:
nspluginwrapper-1.3.0-1
nspluginwrapper-flash-10.0.42.34
nspluginwrapper-flash-10_1_p2_linux_121709
+ with removed ~/.mozilla
This problem exists only with firefox, every other browser is working well.
Anybody have noticed something like that? Any clue?

Well... i've just downloaded firefox-nightly 3.7a1pre-3 from AUR, and it seems to be fixed - so maybe in next release of ff 3.6.x it will be fixed also.
Unfortunettly not all of my addons are working ... like firebug - good that im not using it more often.
More important is that NoScript and Adblock are working fine.
But well - it's still not a solution.
Edit: Better make bookmarks backup before switching to firefox-nightly... + nspluginwrapper-flash in unstable with it
Still if you know something - please write it here http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=90074

  • Firefox: Flickering when scrolling - need help with clean 'new' install

Screen is flickering when scrolling (IE does not). I tried disabling add-ons and tried safe mode - neither helped. Running Win 7 Pro 64bit. Uninstalled via 'Programs and Features'. Download and reinstalled Firefox. Now it shows all my previous settings: menu bar, bookmarks bar, etc. Question: how did it get that stuff back if it 'cleanly' uninstalled? Question: how do I know it didn't pick up it's old 'bad habit' from the previous settings? I am an experienced PC user but not Firefox expert. Looking for help lest I have to ditch Firefox completely...

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
#In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • From time to time screen flashes black when scrolling

    Hi all!
    My system: Fennec 32.0, Teclast x98 3g, Intel z3735D, Android 4.2.2
From time to time I observe screen flashing black when scrolling any page. I could not find consistent pattern, but maybe it happens when I have 3 or more opened tabs.
Could you help me to solve this issue?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi IGOR,
There are alot of default features for scrolling in Firefox for android, but they are under the hood of the application in the about:config page.
Does this happen on pages with Flash player embedded in them?
The more current reasons why Flash may not work is if the phone/tablet has a Intel cpu and not a ARMv7 or v6 type of cpu that old Flash 11.1 for Android supports.. And if you have Android 4.1 or newer you need Firefox 27.0 and newer.
However if it is not, please open a bug with the device model and about:buildconfig page information as well as an example website where this happens all the time. Further investigation can be done with that information. :-)

  • Screen flashes or flickers when scrolling

When scrolling through web pages, my screen flashes or flickers.  Turns white and then the page displays.  Not a major issue, just more of an annoyance than anything. I have turned my phone off twice to see if that helps and doesn’t seem to change anything. Any ideas?

    Hi All,
I just got back my iPad after diagnosis from apple care. They have said it's a software issue and nothing related to hardware. Moreover, I checked a few iPads on display at an apple store and still found the same issue.

  • Flickering when scrolling

I am using the freshly downloaded trial version of Adobe Premiere Elements 13 and am experiencing some problems with the application.
When scrolling the tracks in expert mode, a very annoying flickering appears, even without having loaded large or heavy video clips.
I have also encountered multiple hangs/freezes when working with Titles & Text.
I am running on an iMac 2,5 Ghz i5 with the latest software updates installed, 8gb of memory, SSD drive and an AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics card with 512MB of memory.
    Suggestions anyone?
    Thanks,

That is one strange looking Expert workspace Timeline. Are you seeing the same type of thing in the Quick workspace Filmstrip space?
Let us start by deletion the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file. I believe in Mac it should be found
    Users/Owner/Libraries/ Application Support/Adobe/Premiere Elements/13.0
If that does not help, then the usual questions
    1. Is your video card/graphics card AMD Radeon HD 6750M driver version up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of
    the card?
    2. Does the problem exist with or without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
    3. Are you working with pen and tablet device or mouse?
Let us start here and then decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • CWGraph Flashing/Flickering when updating

We are utilizing CWGraph (3.0) in VB6-SP4 as a single trace chart. Quite often the chart flickers/flashes when updating, but there is no particular pattern to it. If a chart is currently flickering & a command button on the same form is selected to change the data being displayed, (through the chartxy method), the flickering quite often stops.
Changing the data being displayed only involves changing the Y-axis min/max values & label as well as clearing the previous data. The chart is neither re-drawn, nor are any controls added/destroyed on the form.
We have gone through all the possible combinations of properties of the cwgraph object to try and alleviate the problem, but so far with little success.
Since the flickering occurs somewhat randomly, it's proving difficult to nail down what may be causing it.
Has anyone had to deal with this problem before ???
I should also mention that we have other, (i.e. demo versions) of essentially the same system running on the same PC & have absolutely no problems with "flickering graphs", so blaming hardware is pretty much eliminated.

Have you noticed a correlation to the flickering and processor utilization? I am wondering if processes in the background are bleeding away performance.
Also, what happens when you change the display settings (pixels X pixels, 16-bit 32-bit true color, etc.) or even the video card?

  • External monitor flickers when scroll on the google stock chart in Safari

Well, this sounds crazy but this is what is happening to my Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013 Macbook Pro.
    I can reproduce it.
    1. Go to this page in Safari (Version 7.1 (9537.85.10.17.1)): https://www.google.com/finance?q=LQD&ei=nQQ_VPj1H4ebrAHP6oDYDQ
    2. Scroll the page (not the chart)
    3. My external monitor starts to flicker.
I use mini display port to DVI to connect to my ASUS VE278.
    Any idea? Thanks in advance!

  • MacBook Pro flickering when scrolling Mac OS X Mavericks

    Hello All,
I started noticing the flickering with Mountain Lion, specifically with the last patch before Mavericks.  I upgraded to Mavericks and the problem has aggravated. The flickering is really bad in Safari and when using the genie effect and magnification turned on for the Dock.  If I turn Safari to full screen, the problem doesn't disappear but it becomes less annoying.  In Chrome however, the problem is noticeable but not as annoying as in Safari when in regular sized window.  While in Finder, the problem does not happen at all.  I tried to see if Maps had the problem but I couldn't see any difference whatsoever in full screen mode or regular sized window.  I turned my screen capture software and when I went to review it, everything was perfect in the recording.  No flickering whatsoever.  So my guess is that it must be some sort of bad code or just needs a tweak.  Hopefully the folks at Apple are taking notice of this and rolls out an update soon.  If anyone has the same issue, please reply that way the folks at Apple can do something.  Thanks.

  • Other event images flash up when scrolling through an event

When I am scrolling down though photos in an event the row of images below are not images from that event! For a split second other photos flash up from another event. The most confusing part is when I have clicked on a specific photo to enlarge it the mini scroll bar of images at the bottom of the enlarged photo are those 'other' event photos.
For example: I was looking at family photos of Stonehenge, as I scroll down to see more Stonehenge in a split second photos of Paris flash up. When I click on my son at Stonehenge the images on the bottom of the screen are all of Paris, not Stonehenge.
Is my iphoto corrupt? Do I have too many photos in my iphot library and it is getting "confused" trying to process all those images? or what?
    Thank you

You need to launch iPhoto with the Option+Command keys held down and rebuild the library's thumbnails.  It may take several runs.

  • Pictures is flashing once when scrolled...

    Hi!
I'm using Aurora v24.0.a2 lates available version as of today.
When i am scrolling pictures on www.aftonbladet.se mobile site the picture are flickering once for every picture. When trying the stock browser this does not accure.
Just a tip for you to fix....
While i'm at it, is there a big difference between Aurora and Firefox or is it just translated into my Language?
    ToddeSwe

Filed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=896802 for the issue. Looks to be only an issue in Aurora. At worst this will be a problem for 6 weeks. Though ideally we may be able to apply a fix to Firefox 24 depending on the risk of the patch.

  • Flash content distorts when scrolling and switching tabs.. since FF 13.0.1..

    Before describing the issue
Please note from the System Details pane to this post that I have the latest flash, etc.
And Windows updates, are up to date.
    ==================================================
Issue: Scrolling distorts flash player window (Youtube, hulu, etc.)
Since: FF 13.0.1 update in June. (I posted on the issue under "badly scrambled images".)
Problem is still there with FF 14.0.1
    This distortion happens:
    # even with just starting the browser (so no bloated cache)
    # even with just only one or two tabs open.
And since last week's update to FF 14.01, I have also detected:
Switching to the the tab with flash content will "imprint" the image from the my previous tab on to the flash player. I have to scroll or refresh to get the flash player to show its content.
FYI, none of these flash player problems occur with IE9.
The advise from a regular contributor was to turn off hardware acceleration, but these did not solve this issue.:(
Solutions suggesting disabling all the plugins etc. have not solved the problem either.
So if you can tell me some other way to solve this, I will appreciate it.
    Thanks.

Sorry, it took me a while to give feedback for the suggestions you have given here.
(Please refer to sidebar on the original post for system details.)
I have reset the profile and updated the Nvidia driver. The version of FF is 14.0.1. But it still scrambles the pictures.
On top of scrambling the flash content when scrolling, it has additional problems:
As you can see from the attached image, another tab's content is showing on the youtube flash player. This happens when I have paused the video even for a short time.
I have a suspicion that the combination of Flash and Firefox does some weird things to graphic processing and memory.
(I realize that IE implements Flash differently, but they seem to have this right.)
I might just have to say goodbye to Firefox for a while.
    Thanks.

  • Starting random apps and screen flicker when scrolling

My Touch 2G suddenly started to launch random apps without me touching the screen. Besides starting random apps the screen flickers when scrolling. Any body have experienced the same? It started about 1 month ago and I have always taken good care of it. I have tried every possible thing I can think of when it comes to software. Full restore, jailbreak, full restore, back to factory, back to earlier versions of IOS, but no luck. It is pretty persistent. I am sure it is hardware related and don't mind paying to have it fixed. I tried two repairshops already and they  were not able to recover the reason for the malfunction.  I wonder whether there is anybody who has experienced the same or even knows what is wrong?

    Hey Kimwaldal,

  • Since installing the new update videos keep on flickering when I stream them. How can I fix this?

Ever since I updated Firefox the videos I watch keep on flickering when I stream this. It is true of youtube, and other mediums. This is not a problem when I watch videos on Safari or Internet Explorer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox to no success and restarting my computer has not helped either.

Hello, if the Flash player is not up to date, please update it, aslo:
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • X86_64:weird firefox+nspluginwrapper-flash issue

I've installed the latest Firefox version for arch64. Along with it I've installed nspluginwrapper and nspluginwrapper-flash from aur.
    Now comes the issue:
about:plugins shows that these are installed, but when I go to a site with flash I get nothing where the flash objects should be. Using epiphany, which is also gecko based, flash works flawlessly.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Cheers!

I used to use Arch64, but like you I got problems the last time I used nspluginwrapper. Except, unlike you, the flash was there and it worked fine except there was no sound I didn't know what happened because the last two times I installed it there was sound.

  • Nspluginwrapper-flash broken

the AUR nspluginwrapper-flash does not download flash player... i think this is because adobe update to flash 10 and not flash9 anymore.... i modified it so that it will use flash10, it installed and everything but when it came time to test it on the browser it did not run.

yes i am using 64-bit.... just tried out the native alpha 64bit flash player in the testing section of pacman.  works great.
