Unsort user selection in setting security filter in ASO database

We found one very inconvenient feature of Essbase : when we perform security filter setting in ASO database via EAS console, we found that the user list selection is unsorted. It is very very difficult to identify the suitable username to set the security filter.
Any tips and tricks can improve the process?

All you need to do to sort the filter column is to edit the filters and then click on the "Filter Name" column header. It sorts just fine in EAS 9.3.1.

Issue with write Security filter in ASO 9.3.1

I'm having a strange security filter issue in system 9.3.1 ASO cube. We've the native users for the ASO cube and created several write security filters based on cost centers in that cube.
For example, the below security filter sometime works, and sometime not:
Write "Adjustments", @RELATIVE ("S532179", 0), @RELATIVE ("S587724", 0), @RELATIVE ("S525701", 0)
There are total 8 standard dimensions in the cube. I tried all possible combinations to make it work constantly, but it doesn't. Even modified the filter like below so that it has all dimensions (using LEVMBBRS, IDESCENDANTS, RELATIVE) , still users can't load data at level 0 members.

I didn't know that the logs didn't work; I tested it and they are not generated for ASO updates in 9.3.1. I didn't see any other setting that would cause them to be created; my guess is that the logs are created based on block manipulations that Essbase does internally using BSO. As there are no blocks in ASO then the same algorithm doesn't apply.
We log Essbase changes in our Dodeca product but we use a different algorithm. We evaluate the update in our server before committing the changes and generate a relational log that has the datapoint information plus the old value, new value and standard 'who' information for the person making the update.

How to make a report to display next 18 months of data with when user select a particular month from the filter in power pivot tabular model.

i have a dimension table with month_key having values (201201,201202,201203.......202011,202012) and month name ( Jan 12, feb 12,......NOV 20, Dec 20) and a fact table with columns (month_key ,measure_types, Amount)
My requirement is to create a power pivot report in which when a user select a month from the filter, the report should display the (selected month+18 ) month's data against each type . when JAN 12 is selected ,the jan 2012 +18 = june 2013
, month name should be populated with months till june 2013 only .
i tried creating calculated column"END DATE " in the fact table with dax expression to calculate the 18th monh from the current month as below
month_key END DATE
201201       201306
201202       201307
and thought of filtering the table with month key <= ENDDATE but it is not working as expected. could you please guide me on this ? Is there any time intelligence function that serve the purpose . Iam using excel 2010
..hence could not do any calculation on the report side also. please suggest .

Do you need to show the measure calculated for those 18 months as a total on 1 row, or do you need to select a single month and then display on row filters 18 distinct rows?
The first is trivial as driezl has suggested.
The second will require a second calendar table.
I created this example workbook for a coworker who had a similar problem. You will have to use the disconnected table as your filter and pull your related table onto the rows.
Finally, the easiest way to deal with the sort of date arithmetic you need to do is to restructure your date table to have a series of "Sequential" fields. These fields should be the number of units of time since the beginning of your calendar.
For example, consider a calendar starting on January 1, 2010. For January - December 2010, [MonthSequential] = 1, 2, ..., 12. For January - December 2011, [MonthSequential] = 13, 14, ..., 24, and so on, incrementing by 1 for each sequential month in time.
Assuming you have this set up in your date tables (one related to your model - DimDate - and one disconnected - DisconDimDate) your measure would look like this:

Cant get com.apple.security.files.user-selected.read-only entitlement to work

Hey I am curious how can I get the .ipa compiled file for iOS to be able to read all the directories on the iPhone?
I made a file browser but I cant get to the pictures

I got Push notifications working and accepted in the app store but it can't read the pictures directory when browsing for a file
I know the app id and stuff is set up right or I wouldnt have been able to get it accepted in the app store. In the entitlements area of course I have the application identifier set and aps-environment and keychain access groups and whatnot set up right.
When I try to put the app onto the iPhone with iTunes it just says 'Entitlements are not valid' (does not mention anything about mismatched ids) I can't find anything about how to add this entitlement and I could have sworn I saw a thing that said I can just use the descriptor file to add entitlements in some of the documentation I have it set to use air 3.4
Is there something I am doing wrong, how do I get apple to just put these entitlements in the mobileprovision file, I cant seem to edit it, if I do I also get an error in itunes that is some hex code...

I just transfered my web hosting and e-mail to bluehost. I had some of the same problems you are having. I noticed you have your incoming server set to bluehost.
Incoming mail server: (SSL) box610.bluehost.com (sever requires authentication which I already have done)
If bluehost is your server this is what worked for me:
Account Information
Account type— POP
Description—anything you want
Email Address—in your case would be [email protected]
Full name— first and last name
Incoming server—mail.magnus.com
User name—[email protected] Notice it is the @ symbol not a +
password— your password . Remember they are case sensitive

Forcing Users to set Security Questions

Hi All,
Currently when a user joins the organization, the user can go to IdM user interface, login and set security questions. But this is an option only if user wants to use self service in IdM. So, it has been found that users are not setting it and it becaomes a pain when they call help desk for password change and help desk is not able to verify the user's identity because security questions are not set.
Please share your thoughts how other organizations are handling this situation.
Is there any way that we can force a user to set security questions when the user logs in first time?

In our Organization we did the following.
Under the Security tab there is a Policy tab.
There you should find a policy called: Default Identity Manager Account Policy.
Under Secondary Authentication Policy Options make sure "Enforce Answer Policy at Login" is checked.
In page help states:
Select this option to enforce the authentication question policy when the user logs in to this interface.
This solution works however it did become problematic while we had pass-thru authentication configured.

Display the panel container when user select the specific tab in a tab set

Hi SAP Experts,
I've faced some problems and i would like to seek some help from the experts.
Basically, my requirement is to display the component "panel container" which contains some data whenever a user select e.g. Tab "A" of my component Tab set. Similarly, it hides again when the user select Tab "B" and another panel container appear for it.
I am not sure if this is achievable in Xcelsius. Experts, please advise me.

Disabling a Filter on user selection

HI,
I have two columns of which one is a flag (y/n) and another is a date . i want the user to see the report containing both these columns filtered on the basis of Flag .i.e. when a user opens that report he should see all the values corresponding only to 'flag='y' . I also want the user to view reports on the basis of a date which he chooses from the calendar . I have implemented the same using a calendar prompt on the 'date ' column. The challenge is that whenever a user chooses any date , he shud also be able to view records for flag=N' . i/e. the flag filter should get disabled on his selectioN.
Can anybody help me out if its possible ?

If I am understanding you right, you can try the below option:
In your report, currently there would be a static filter on flag='Y', but you need to include both 'Y' and 'N' flag values in filter when user selects a particular date on dashboard. If this is what you are looking for then, assign a presentation variable to the date column in the dashboard prompt (say varDate). Next in your report, add another filter. This filter would apply flag='N' clause in case if date is selected in the prompt. Hence in your report you should have filters like one given below :
FlagColumn = 'Y'
OR
FlagColumn = case when '@{varDate}{1900-01-01}' <> '1900-01-01' then 'N' end

Identifying user selection of drill filter

Hie Guys,
I am creating a report that contains a single hyperlink to different reports based on the user selection of the drill filters. I need to be able to identify what drill filter the user selected in the form of a formula so that I can direct the user to the appropriate report when they click on the hyperlink.
For e.g.
If user selects drill filter for month, take them to report 1
If user selects drill filter for department, take them to report 2.
If user selects drill filter for Unit, take them to report 3..

Filter one table based on user selection

Hi all ,
I am creating simple employee data application in VC. It consists of roadmap. On first step user searches for employee by giving first name , last name then he searches for employee and all the data related to employee's is fetched out at one shot through BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETDATA. Now after step one no of employee comes.
When I select one record I want that for the selected rows employee's personal data should be fetched out from another table (which is populated during first BAPI call). so I want to pass the selected key value and filter that table based on passed value to table and filter the table .
Kindly give a solution as to implement filter on a table without making another BAPI call .

Hi Abhay,
There's a trick to get a 'dynamic' filter (i.e. a filter that filters on a value that can change) out of the normal static filters:
Just click on the output of your data source, then 'configure' and on the '+' - sign in the lower right corner. Add a boolean field called 'condition', for example. Then, you write the condition that filters out the row(s) that you need. In the filter that comes next in the dataflow you just filter on this 'condition' - field being true.

Trying to set attribute value based on user selection of another attribute

I am trying to set an attribute value based on the user's selection of another attribute using JSP EditCurrentRecord. When the user chooses the AreaId from the combo box I want to look up the value of the RgnID, preferrably without the user seeing this field at all. Below is my code which does not work. ok, sorry everyone for making it confusing; this is what I am
trying to acheieve;
I would like the user to populate my database with thier
username AND userID. I have a dropdown box with thier username
dynamicly populated already, what I am trying to achieve, is a way
of when the user selects thier username either another dropdown or
a hidden field is automatically populated with the appropiate
userID (to match thier username). Now I could just have two
dropdowns and they select both, but i'd rather avoid the
possibility of mismatches, and that is why I would like it to be
automatic and based on thier username selection...
Does that make sense....?

User selected global filter for country

I am trying to build a scenario where I have a km repository like the following
Australia
- Support docs
- Product Brochures
USA
- Support docs
- Product Brochures
Then I want to build a KM navigation iView that allows the user to select a global "filter" of their country... An Australian user would select Australia (a pre defined property per the global property service) and then this would be used to drive the content shown in the iView.
I should be able to do this via permissions but I would rather have the user select the area of interest as they may be authorised to see both.
Does anyone have any ideas on how this could be done?

Hi Bernard,
   You can create two KM Navigation iviews, one point to Australia and the other to USA folders.
   On the other hand, if you want to classify these document to do a search..so on. You must create country metadatas Australia/USA and type of document (Support/Product). Both of metadatas could be mandatories when you upload a file.
   Also, you can have only folder where all document are uploaded and assign these metadata. Then create taxonomies to classify them by country/type of documents so on. At last, your km navigation iview to point these taxonomies

Failed to refresh user's security filter

Hi - I'm having an issue with a user ID. User was having a lot of problems doing Essbase retrievals in Excel, so tried refreshing their security filter in Hyperion Desktop. I get a 'security filters were created successfully except for: username."
So I recreated her ID in Planning, removed her ID in Essbase and removed her filters in Essbase. I added back all the groups that she belongs to in Planning, now I am back in Hyperion Desktop trying to do a push down for her ID and I still get the same error message.
Then I went to some other people's ID, highlighted their name and did a refresh, some of the say successful, some of them give me the same error message about security filter refreshed except for: username".
What in the world can be causing this?

also<BR><BR>DISPLAY PRIVILEGE USER ALL; will list all privileges granted to a user directly. Any line that isn't "no access" means that the user has privileges assigned outside a group. I periodically do ann audit on our systems to ensure we have't got any direct users that have privileges granted outside groups.<BR><BR>Of course anyone tagged individually as a supervisor will come up on this check.

Issue in Implementing OR Logic in Security Filter for Essbase in OBIEE

I am implementing OBIEE using Essbase as the data source. The requirement is to implement OR logic in the security filter. And I got error message from the MDX query generated by OBIEE. Below is the details. Anyone knows how to solve this issue? Thank you very much.
1.     The “Booking Location” dimension has three hierarchies (ragged hierarchies).

From what I have read on this forum, people have managed to get the DC In Board replaced for a little over US $100. This would be at an Apple authorized repair shop rather than by Apple itself. This is much less than the cost of a new MacBook. I don't know what might be available in your area, but it would be worth asking at a repair shop.

Need to Programmatically Set IRR Filter on Date Field Due to APEX 4.1 Bug

There may be another work around but, here is the problem that we are encountering...
We have a huge table that is partitioned on a DATE field and an IRR that reports on this table. By default, we want to show the most recent 3 days of data. There is a built-in filter for "is in the last 3 Days." Sounds Great! Unfortunately APEX generates the code using TIMESTAMP rather than DATE functions. As a result of this, the query does not perform partition pruning and, as a consequence, it is doing a full table scan which takes forever. Note the use of the "LOCALTIMESTAMP" function in the query that is generated by APEX for this filter:

The bug is that APEX should base the underlying function on the data type of the filtered column.
As a work around, if we create a filter where BUSINESS_DATE >= '4/13/2012' (three business days ago), again, this returns instantaneously. The issue is that we can only set this filter by using the APEX GUI. We need to be able to:
1. Determine the date for 3 business days ago
2. Set this as the default filter.
I tried creating a BEFORE HEADER PL/SQL page process but, it does not appear to be having any effect. Here is that code:

Actually, now that I look further, I don't think it is going to work to simply set the filter programmatically. The end user can still click the column heading where they are only given the choice of the LOCALTIMESTAMP based filters. If they pick one, the page is going to be out to lunch for them.
We really need some other fix. We really need a way to actually address the underlying issue.
