UNSPSC Codes Descriptions

My client is going to adopt UNSPSC coding for their product categories.
Having looked at the list I realise there is a major exercise to create the short descriptions. Is there anywhere that I can obtain a list already prepared for SAP on UNSPSC Version v11.1201
regards
Nick J Jones

Hi,
I had already looked at this web site but it does not provide details with short and long descriptions that would load product categories into SAP

  • How to populate item category tree with UNSPSC codes?

I have created an application engine to read a UNSPSC code csv file and execute a component interface to load the item categories. I am having a problem updating the tree we use in ePro. Do I need to set up something before I run this? It looks like you can't add nodes if the category doesn't exist and you can't add categories to the tree if the node doesn't exist. We do not have Catalog Management installed.

    Dear Friend,
I am new to the iProcurement functionality of mapping UNSPSC code to Item Category Flex field Segments.
Please help me how this functionality works.
Does Oracle provide any standard way to map the codes to flex field.
    Do we need a customization.
Any useful documentation will be really helpful.

  • Field for transaction code description ?

    Hello,
I know that the T-code is stored in table BKPF, but what is the table where the transaction code DESCRIPTION is stored ?
    Thanks,
    Julien

    julien,
tcodes are not stored in BKPF.
they are stored in TSTC ->tcodes and TSTCT ->text for tcodes.
and BKPF might be storing the tcode in some field which stores the value of tcode from which the document is being created. but that is not the table which stores TCodes.
    hope this helps

  • How to use UNSPSC code in SRM MDM ?

    Hi,
We are in migration from CCM 2.0 SRM MDM.
In CCM , we are uploading the catalogs with UNSPSC and material group. Either any one is mandatory.
If they give UNSPSC code in catalog, while uploading we are mapping to correspoding material group.
But in SRM MDM , we dont have UNSPSC table it self. We will create that table in main structure of MDM catalog.
But how to map the UNSPSC code to material group?
Mapping is available in SRM table.
    Please give me some ideas..

  • UNSPSC code from SRM to PReq

The Manufacturing Part Number field on the purchase requisition (field name: MFRPN) is populated with the UNSPSC code for catalog orders from SRM. However, I am unable to bring this data over to the PO. I have checked config to make sure the field is not suppressed. While it is set as optional, no data is visible. Am I looking in the wrong place? How do I get the field from the requisition to populate a corresponding field on the PO?
We are not a manufacturing company so I'm not sure if there is something else I need to activate in order to populate the field.
    Please Help!

    Hello Monique,
what is your SRM scenario (classic, ECS ?) and SP level ?
You talk about PR: Are you working on ECC 6.0, with catalog integration in MM ?
If yes, this is an MM issue, and not an SRM one.
Try to post the same question in the ERP forum.
And check OSS notes for MM + MFRPN: there is a lot...
    ex:
904632 ME21N: MFRNR not filled with info record data
823058 ME51N: MPN mat not deleted when you change source of supply
812809 External Mfg(EMNFR) not populated for internal material
744799 ME51N/ME52N: MPN material in PReq is overwritten
563965 MPN: Creation of Pur. Order with reference to a document

  • How to display COMPANY CODE DESCRIPTION ON THE TOP LEFT OF PAGE

How to display COMPANY CODE DESCRIPTION(Field BUTXT) ON THE TOP LEFT OF EVERY PAGE OF THE REPORT GENERATED.
Actually I have collected BUTXT using
'select butxt into table itab from t001 where bukrs = p_bukrs'
where p_bukrs is the selection screen field.
REQUIREMENT: Depending on what company code we give on the selection screen, corresponding company code description(butxt) should be displayed at the top left of every page. how would i display it in TOP-OF-PAGE EVENT.

    Hi
It's very simple, but what is the need to use <b>into table itab</b> in your select query.
    Rather, define a variable
    data: v_butxt type t001-butxt.
Select butxt into v_butxt from t001 where bukrs = pbukrs.
    TOP-OF-PAGE.
    write :/ v_butxt.

  • UNSPSC code is not passed for RT catalog item then error !!

    Hi SRM GURUs,
    We have implemented BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER BADI.
In which if a RT catalog item is not having UNSPSC code then we are passing some generic material group for that particular item.
Here the issue is, if a UNSPSC code is not passed for a RT catalog item, then system is throwing error message "No logical system for FI is maintained. inform system admin".
Also, a pop-up is coming on SRM screen "Error in system;shopping cart cannot be processed further" and then after clicking on "OK" of the POP-UP it is taking me on SRM home page.
will anybody explain why this is happening ? Kindly, explain this logic (As this logic is in standard SAP program)?
    PS: we are at SRM5.0 & CCM2.0.
    Thanks !!
    Vivek

    Hi Masa,
we tried with blanking out the material group. we have got few errors but not of type like above mentioned.
    The errors are as follows.
Cost center should not be blank
Service Account assignment should be Cost Center(Services) or Cost Center(Sched Services) or Network
Tax code ZZ in procedure TAXUSX is invalid
No G/L account was entered. Enter a G/L account
Product category 41E532538A930138000000000A4023DB does not exist
    Enter the product category
Error in account assignment for item 1
    Not possible to calculate tax
In SLG1 the log is green and contains following.
Start of line 000000 in shopping cart of catalog
External product category 26111710 contains errors or does not exist
where the number 26111710 is the UNSPSC code which i was deleted while debugging.
    Please help on this.
    Thanks in adv.

  • SRM-Synching company code description between SRM and ECC

    Hi,

    2. If yes, how can we synch the company code description in SRM and ECC? What is the program name to synch both system

    Sanjeev,
Thanks for the reply. But still there is description difference in SRM - frontend and backend system.
The SRM backend is correct but when we log ninto the SRM portal (frontend), the company code description are missing some characters. Can you pl let me know where is the frontend is picking the Company code description in SRM?

    Hello Venkatesh P
    UNSPSC is complex code.
First two (may be three- i'm not sure) digits is material group number.
You should only analyze that and create as-is to-be  table for UNSPSC code->material group number relation

  • Map UNSPSC code to Material Group for punch-out catalogues

    Hi All,
can anyone share an experience with the best way of mapping UNSPSC codes to Material Groups for punch-out catalogues.
I've been looking at the Schema config under the Content Management section in  the IMG (Supplier Relationship Management > SRM Server > Master Data > Content Management > Mapping for Schemas) but can't really find any docuemtnation to describe exactly how this can be used.
I guess the alternative option is to create a custom table and use the BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER BADI but if this can be done as standard using config rather than ABAP developemnt that would be a preferable solution.
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi,
Best way is to activate the BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER BADI. this encompasses or can be customized accordingly to
    1. To map UNSPSC with Product Categories/Material groups (however custom z table needs to be created which does the mapping)
    2. Some supplier catalogs will send  too much information, most of which is not necessary for SRM, here whatever is needed can be filtered out
This BADI overall enriches the data transferred from the supplier.
    hope this helps!
    Thanks,
    Prashanth

  • UNSPSC Code in iProc (Apps 11i)

    Hi All,
I am working on integration of UNSPSC CODE (iProcurement) in Oracle apps 11i.
    For this I have done:
    1. I created an iProc category which has key (assume here we give UNSPSC code) and created hierarchy.
    2. Then mapped this iproc category to PO category
    3. Added few items to above iProc category.
    4. Raised requisition with that item.
I would like to know where and how I can see the UNSPSC code.
I also would like to know if I am following incorrect way or missing any step here.
    Thanks in advance..

  • Unspsc code configuration in Material master

    Hi Guru's,
My client has using UNSPSC code heirarchy in the material master.
There are four levels of heirarchy. I configured in the classification view of the material master accordingly to the heirarchy. Now I need to genarate a report based on the material group and that report should pull the characterstic and its value correctly at a specified heirarchy level.
Is there any standard report to pull the heirarchy level for the material group?
    How can I achieve this
    Appreciate all the help
    Rrds,
    Shiva

    Hello Shiva,
I'm looking for exactly what you stated above ( 2 years ago... ), but I'm a step behind you.
Can you refer me to configuration doc for setting up material master based on UNSPSC code hierarchy? Do you do this through WG21, entering commodity level in Material group and then Class/Family/Segment in MG Hierarchy level field ?
Also, did you find or receive any guidance on standard report to pull hierarchy level for material group ?
Any guidance on this is much appreciated.

  • What is a UNSPSC Code?

    When creating a device record I see a field for a UNSPSC-Code. What is a UNSPSC-Code?

    Hi Michael,
UNSPSC (United Nations Standard Products and Service Code) is an international coding system that helps to classify products and services. It has over 45,000 terms for classifying products and services. UNSPSC numbers can be used for classifying devices (SG.inventory) according to the international standard code.
