Unsupported File Error??!!  Help!

I am making a DVD with photos set to music. The other night, I previewed it before I closed the program... no problem.
Today, when I went to preview it, there was no sound where the first song should be (I didn't get any further to see if the subsequent songs were there or not.) An error appeared that said the song file was "unsupported file type - Video". (They are not video!! ) So, I went to ITunes and changed the song to another. Same message!! What is going on?? I've made many DVDs this way and NEVER had this happen. Help!! - this is a DVD to be played next week at a sports banquet and I have to make 20 copies, to boot!!
I am not very technical so I would greatly appreciate laymens' terms - thanks in advance
iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I figured out the problem and thought I'd post the solution in case someone else has this happen (I noticed another poster with same problem, and no resolution...)
Last night, the computer froze while updating automatic software updates from Mac, so I shut it down. It must have been in the midst of the Itunes update. So I completed the updates, and voila, the sound is back with no error message!!

  • Unsupported Files error - iphoto 08 (Camera Canon IXUS 80)

Over the last couple of weeks we have been getting unsupported file error when we try and import photo's to iphoto from our camera. The files are jpg's and it has only been happening since 2009. All our other photos (6,000) seem to be fine.
    Any advise appreciated.

It means that your other library has some form of corruption.
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    If that doesn’t help:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • In aperture 3.4.5, I get unsupported file error when exporting version of photo I've edited using plugins?

In aperture 3.4.5, I get unsupported file error when exporting version of photo I've edited using plugins. I have try reinstalling aperture three times, deleting plists a few times, reinstalling plugins, restarting my MacBook Pro many times. Everything I've tried may fix the problem for a very short while and I can export a few photos before it returns. The problem happens with topaz and photomatrix pro plugins after I edited and try to export version.

I had the same problem with the Photomatix plug-in and this solved it for me. I realised it only happened with Photomatix and not other plug-ins so I checked where the plug-ins were installed. The Photomatix plug-in was installed in
    ~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/
where ~ is the home location for the current user account. All the other plug-ins however were installed in
    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/
which is the location that makes them available to all user accounts on your Mac. Moving the Photomatix plug-in to this location solved the problem for me.
Note that the Library directory under the first location is normally hidden, to get to it hold down the Option (Alt) key and select it from the Finder Go menu.

  • Unsupported file error when uploading video file to iTunes U

I downloaded one of my video file and remove the track afterwards. However, when I trying to reload the video files back to the site again, I got "Unsupported File" error for some of them. My files are withing 50MB ~ 500 MB range, codec of H.264 and AAC.
    Any suggestions/

Could someone please give some suggestions? I've been stuck with these "Unsupported File" for a week...

  • Video upload generating "unsupported file" error

    Hi,
Today we're getting "unsupported file" error msg at the end of the video file uploads.
We are uploading the same type .mp4 with apple mp4compresson as we have previously without any changes.

I am having the same problem with .MP3 files. I even tried uploading a file that I had already uploaded last week and I got the same "unsupported file" error. The only thing that seems to have changed is the "Upload and Manage Files" interface and now nothing will upload. If there is any Apple people that could look into this it would be nice. I am also posting for a school, Santa Monica College.

  • Repeated "Unsupported file" errors

We are currently working with an iTunes site that has +not been published yet+ and have encountered numerous "Error: Unsupported file" messages. The files are .MOV with H.264 video, AAC audio, and range from 200-700MB in size (my understanding is that 1GB is the limit). In some instances, different files that are part of the same video series, and have the exact same compression settings, will produce different results—some will upload and some will not, despite being almost identical. What else could be preventing these videos from uploading?
Please let me know if there is additional technical information that would be helpful in resolving this issue.

Hello.  W e are experiencing a similar issue.  I have tried to upload a number of .mov files into an iTunes U course, all of which were created using the same settings in the same software (iMovie).  I successfully uploaded these to a previous course, but in my new course (we migrated to a new version of our LMS) some upload and others upload most of the way and then show "Error: Unsupported  File."  The files use H.264 encoding and have a resolution of 320x240, at a bit rate of approximately 196 kbps; audio is encoded as AAC at 32 khz.  In my current "group" (tab), I have seven files, all with identical specs, only four of which uploaded successfully; the others fail repeatedly.  Here is a link to the feed for that group: https://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Feed/su.edu.7654378499.07654378507/ 4D06150C-7BD4-E434-A707-D957F28BFEA5%40su.edu/004dc3056783a9f36e102baa64634e57ed c48337046e354042fce4399bcf62c66f1a278bd4
please advise; need these to be posted very soon!

  • New macbook pro, unsupported file error

    Hi there,
I've just got my new Macbook Pro, have installed Aperture2 and performed a software update.
I get the 'unsupported file format' message when I import my RAW files. I can see the thumbnail, but no preview is rendered.
I have a Canon 5D MkII camera, for which the RAW update was released months ago, and works fine on my iMac.
The software update only listed the latest two cameras to receive RAW support, a Nikon and an Epsom, if that helps.
    Thanks in advance - Chris

  • I can't load raw files from a Leica d-lux 6. Says it's an unsupported file. Help please!

I cannot load raw files from a Leica d-lux 6.  Aperture says it's an unsupported file.  How do I get it to be a supported file?  Help, please!

What is your Aperture version? Here is the list of supported raw formats for Aperture 3, see: Apple - Aperture - Technical Specifications - RAW Support
Your camera is not on the list. Use the software that came with your camera to convert your raw files to dng or tiff images; then you can import the images into Aperture and work with them, while waiting for Apple to release raw support for your camera. Or shoot raw+jpeg pairs and use the jpeg while you are waiting.
Is Mac OS X (10.5.1) really your current operating system? Then you may need to upgrade, when Apple finally releases raw support for your camera. The newest raw support required Aperture 3.4. to be installed.

  • Photoshop CS4 "Cannot save due to an end-of-file error" Help

This problem occurs daily, probably 15-20 times per project. I take on normally 3-4 projects per day, so you can see how annoying this is. Basically when I'm saving, I get a dialogue box that says "Cannot save your file due to an end-of-file error" or something to that extent. I would love to resolve this, this problem is persistent and it's driving me out of my mind I'm saving to a network, if that has any correlation. Thanks in advance
         Chris

This is the boilerplate text often used in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):
If you are opening files over a network or saving them to a network server, please cease and desist immediately in the event you are currently experiencing problems with one or more files. Working across a network is not supported.
    See:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406793.html
Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work.   It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.
When problems arise, a lot of valuable work can be lost.

  • SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem error  Help!?!?!

While taking pics yesterday I got a notification that stated "Blank SD card (SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem)". This SD card is in my Motorola Droid X (which I have only had for 8mnths).  I am not able to take pics, lost all photos and music that was on my phone.
    SanDisk 16gb Micro SD HC
I tried 3 different computers and none of them will recognize the SD card. (with adapter and usb cord)
I have not done a format on the card yet incase there is a chance to recover the missing data.
If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks!

Don't expect Verizon to do anything about it. I tried last week on both the 800# and in the corporate store across from work and they both pretty much told me it's not their problem and I was SOL.
best thing you can do is just shell out a little money to get your own card and not deal with VZW about it. They don't care as they consider the card a 'freebie' and will do everything in their power to avoid having to replace it (some stores will actually do the right thing, but very few and far between). Amazing how a card that is worth to Verizon about $5 at the most will have lost them a customer becuase they can't be bothered to replace something that the phone came with, yet they say is Motorola's problem
good luck with getting it fixed

  • I am getting an unsupported format error when trying to import the.aaf file.

When I select File > Import > File, and then select my .aaf file, nothing happens.
When I select File > Import > Pro After Effects and then select my .aaf file, it imports the files, then I get an unsupported format error for .mov files.
    Help!

    Kbuggle,
Which video in the tutorial does this step apply to (i.e. importing the AAF file)? Are you importing from the sample files that accompany the tutorial? Finally, can you post a screen shot of the error message you're getting?
Also, please confirm which version of After Effects you're running, as well as the operating system.
    Thanks!
    Stefan

  • Download Helper, even with paid converter upgrade, gives "Invalid Capture File" errors and will not record audio, with "File Creation Error - Unable to rename/copy audio file" Error.

Download Helper Screen Capture worked to capture video if the default "no audio" option is active. But, no audio. The "speakers" or "microphone" audio options are confusing....the audio to be captured is from the video, so what do you choose? With either "speakers" or "microphone" selected, the captured file has poor audio and no video. Re-capture efforts (speakers) get "Invalid capture file error" and "File Creation error- Unable to rename/copy audio file"
The paid upgrade of "Converter" doesn't work.
Instructive documentation - not very good.
Suggestions - Need time delay between initiation of "Record" and starting the video to be recorded.
Could use timer tracking of the record process.
Are there operating system limitations? (Have Windows XP Pro)

That is an issue for the developer of that Download Helper.
