Unsupported Provider: BPCMDX.4 BO 4 BPC 7.5

Adding a shorcut connection to a project in INFORMATION DESIGN TOOL generates the error Unsupported Provider: BPCMDX.4, connection was created before in CMC with the NEW OLAP CONECCTION wizard.
ODBO is installed in designer side.
BPC 7.5 on server 2008
BO 4.0 on server 2008

I tried to create the connection in two places like below.
1 . In CMC
Connection Name:
Server Name: http://serverip/XMLA/XmlaWebService.asmx
User Name:
Password:
Issue: After typing password its keep on running and there is no response.
2. In IDT
Server: http://serverip/XMLA/XmlaWebService.asmx
User Name:
Password:
Language: English
Issue: Error Code: 401, Description: Unauthorized
Another story is i have creates SAP Support ticket like 3 weeks before but i did not get any solution from them.
Is there is any specific settings/Configurations needs to be done for connecting BPC?. Also is there is any reference document available?
It will be great if some one help me to resolve this issue.

Hi,
I am in the process of installing BPC 7.0 and encountered the following error after filling the "Advanced settings" details on the server info screen:
*Cannot connect SQL server.
Please check the SQL server connection or check System Admin ID to access the sql server.*
I know that the System Admin ID I provided in the previous (service type accounts) screen is correct. What am I missings? Appreciate the help asap!

BPC installation user has to be SysAdmin into SQl Server.
Also make sure that SQL Server was installed having Windows authentication enable otherwise the connection to SQL Server can not be establish.
Into Application Server (the server where you are trying to install BPC) open Management Studio and see if you can connect to SQL Server.
Are you using special ports or instances fro SQL Server?
Please make sure you are providing all these information into BPC setup.

Consolidation for SAP BPC

HI Gurus,
I have gone through the documentation provided by SAP for SAP BPC Admin document
which just talks about the various business rules available for consolidation.
Can someone o explain in brief the sequence steps that one needs to follow for consolidation? (e.g. First develop the dimensions - account, entity, etc., then application - finance, rate, ownership, then set up the consolidation rules, then methods, then automatic adjustment detail etc.)
Also it will be helpful if someone can actually describe the required properties in each dimension to perform consolidation?
(e.g. Account needs to have ElimAcc for Eliminations etc.)

The sequance of steps are 1.Load the master data(Dimensions)

                                       3.Load the Appset and Application Parameters.
                                       4.Customizing the Logic(We have the existing logic in BPC-BI use that Logic).
                                       5.Reports are based on your need.
If your an Finance background you should have known the steps to process the logic i.e sequence of steps.....if not reply me i will let you know..

Revising the Adobe CMM - call for feedback

The first Adobe CMM was released a little more than a year ago. Happy birthday!
It's been downloaded more than 50,000 times. (But does anyone actually use it?)
Two companies - CGS Software and Color Solutions - have licensed the Adobe CMM for their products.
The Adobe CMM output - within the limitations of the CMM framework and APIs - should match the color-managed conversions in Adobe applications.
For applications that use the OS CMS (ColorSync, ICM, or WCS), installing the Adobe CMM may provide some benefits. The Adobe CMM extends the existing OS-level CMS with an alternate color conversion engine with which a color expert can build cross-vendor, cross-platform, workflows with consistent color conversions.
It's time to figure out what conversion features to include in the next revision.
A few bugs will be fixed.
We're considering providing supplemental APIs to control BPC, but this would be useless to all but those who actually write code to call the Adobe CMM directly. Do you?
We'd like to know how (and why) you use the CMM, about bugs in the CMM, or your CMM feature requests.

We've encountered following problems with Adobe CMM:
1.) Adobe CMM reverses channel order for bitmap formats like BM_xRGBQUADS, BM_CMYKQUADS and probably others. Here you have MS specification: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms536563(VS.85).aspx
2.) Adobe CMM doesn't accept 'spac' class ICC profiles. For example we have Lab->Lab identity profile, which we use to assemble ICC transformation like Lab->CMYK, CMYK->Lab. Microsoft CMM handles them very well.
3.) There is serious problem with BM_GRAY bitmap format. At one place MS claims that BM_GRAY is 32 bits per pixel and only the 8 bit gray-scale value is used. In table of bitmap formats MS claims that BM_GRAY is 8 bit per pixel format. Both interpretations can be found in MS spec: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms536563(VS.85).aspx Adobe CMM uses 32 bits, MS CMM use 8 bits per pixel.

Excel 2007 Compatibility

Hi there,
I am using BPC 5 (5.0.0.485 to be exact) and upgraded my MS Office version from 2003 to 2007. Now, every time I open a dimension in the Administration module, it tries to open it directly in Excel and throws an warning: "The file you are trying to open, '<dimname>.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?". If I click yes, it opens the file in BPC Admin but when I attempt to save it, it complains that the file is already opened.
If I open the dimension file from Windows explorer, save it in Excel 2003 format and close it, then subsequently open it in BPC Administration, it works fine but if I make changes and save to server, it causes the same warning message as above next time I open the dimension again. Somehow BPC admin is changing the file format.
How can I solve this?

You had to have the username and password for log in the SAP Service MarketPlace. The websute link is [https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/support]. After that, you choose the menu "Download" on that website. I think that the SAP was provided SP 11 for SAP BPC 5.1 until now.

[No body found] on all mails from one account

All mails I get from one account are empty, containing only [no body found].
The mail is fetched from the ISP via fetchmail, forwarded to Zarafa-Groupware and synced with the mobile devices via Z-push (OSS ActiveSync solution). All other mail clients work fine (Android, IOS, Nokia Mail for Exchange,...) and the calendar as well as notes and adresses all sync fine. Only the mail bodies are empty
The logs on the server look fine...
Any hints on how to get get it working? Or at least on how to get more debug info on the Z10?

Hmmm...well, then the only thing I can recommend is that you contact your mobile service provider for formal support and, likely, escalation into BlackBerry. They may want to collect logs and such to see if they can replicate the problem. It also may simply be an unsupported provider...it's really quite impossible for any device to support every provider (I admit, it should work...but there is a slight chance...).

Does BPC in NW7.0 support Multi-Provider

Hi All,
Does the BPC applications support Multi_Provider data for Actuals and Planned?
We have queries right now on multi-provider and seeing the feasibility of replicating those reports into BPC reports.
Is this feasible and if so please share some doc on it also.

Background is we have BPS,actuals & combination with a Multi-Provider in our BI 7.0 system right now (same instance).
So we have existing Actual cubes(EDW) with namespace "/BIC" and the existing reports are on Mutli-Provider based on 7 to 8 cubes (1 planned and remaining actuals).
So when we are going to implement BPC (with in BI Netweaver environment) do I need to manually create actuals cube in BPC namespace(planned I understand it has to be in BPC namespace) or can I leverage the existing cubes?
SO, can I use existing Multi-Provider (just replacing BPS cube with BPC cube) or
If new BPC Multi-Provider is created, then can I add existing actuals cubes (in "/BIC") with BPC cube to it?
Or is BPC Multi-Provider supports Info-Providers which are only in "BPC" namespace?
I can further clarify if you want, please let me know.

Help needed in BPC 10 Member Formula

We are in BPC 10 NW SP 11.
Facing below error in report for Ratios hierarchy after
member formula is built.
Formulas is related to ratio

I am able to process ACCOUNT_GL dimension.
Also, I am using standard TIME dimension.
I found that the virtual provider(created by using source of data for my model) too is showing the error, when I place above member formula.
I am attaching the error messae when I try to do list records in the virtual provider.
When I remove the member formula, everything is fine

Upgrade from SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 to R2 Fails - Unsupported Upgrade Path

I'm currently upgrading our SCCM infrastructure to SCCM 2012 R2 after have finished with the upgrade from SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1 CU4, thus far everything works fine, but when I try to update any
of the site servers, whether CAS or Primary, I'm getting the following error message in the Prerequisites Check:

If you wonder whether it might be related to this error:

I confirm that this one site is a secondary one that's attached to a primary site and this log is from the CAS server, I managed to tall it and delete it from that site, but still appears listed
on the CAS management console, any idea how to force the removal of a secondary site that's attached to a primary from the CAS site when it has been removed already from said primary?
I've already tried the
Preinst /DELSITE XXX command but it only works when the site to remove it's attached to the local site and certainly not from a CAS
Finally, the version, build number and everything is correct, no idea what could be the problem, does anybody know a way to bypass this or force the re-evaluation of this rules, I've got
the impression that it's being cached somehow.
Any help would be highly appreciated,

Hello again everybody,
I've finally managed to fix this up, in the end I had to delete those entries manually from the database as Garry suggested. After this was done the upgrade has gone through as expected with no further ado and has finalized already, now moving on to the
primary sites.
If anybody out there is facing the same issue, what I did was to delete those "stubborn" records executing the following statements over the CAS database:
DELETE
FROMServerDataWHERESiteCode='XXX'
DELETE
FROMSC_SiteDefinitionWHERESiteCode='XXX'
And this is pretty much about it. I'd recommend to take a proper backup first though as best practice.

SAP BPC MS 7.5 with Extended Analytic Analyzer and EPM connector

Hi experts,
I need your inputs regarding Extended Analytic Analyzer add ins.
I installed the SAP Business Object Extended Analytic Analyzer hoping to integrate the Xcelsius in SAP BPC MS 7.5
I am following the HTG to integrate but got lost.
In EPM connector steps, I cannot find the option from OPERATION TYPE: Retrieve data using Analyzer Report.
The only options available under operation type are
EPM Report
Retrieve Environments
Retrieve Models
Retrieve Dimensions
Retrieve Dimension Members
Input Data
Retrieve Business Process Flows
Retrieve Context
Retrieve Members Property Values
RetrieveText From Library
It doesn't include the option Retrieve data using Analyzer Report.
Im wondering if there are different version of the epm connector? Was my EPM connector differs from the HTG?
And also in Excel under Extended Analytic Analyzer, the function =GETREPORTDEFINITION() is missing
Please help me on this guys..

It seems a very good oportunity to use FIM.
FIM was designed especially for exchange data betweeen different SAP product.
FIM will provide an easy way to do the conversion using wizards and also will assure you about data inetgrity and quality.
This will be the way forward but more details has to be define during the implementation.

Upload data from SAP R/3 to BPC

We need to upload data from SAP R/3 Payroll to BPC into to use in a butget process. We actived 0HR_PY_1 extractor and we have data at PCA area. My question is how i can to load this data into a appset in BCP.

Hi,
There are multiple ways of extracting data from ECC to BPC.
If you have SAP BW implemented for your HR area then you can load data from SAP BW info provider to SAP BPC.
check out the following thread.... all these things are already widely discussed in the forum.... all thats required is to search.....
you have got to use Transformation and conversion files.....
[How to load Transaction Data from BW to BPC]
If SAP BW is not implemented then the other way is to extract the payroll data into Flat files and use the data manager package to upload the data.... you got to prepare transformation and conversion files for this as well.
Directly from ECC is not possible as of now.....

How to find the details of the BPC process running in SM37 and SM50

We had BPC performance issues and noticed that there are some process or batch jobs that are kicked from BPC that runs longer and kind of hanging. SM37 and SM50 provides some information like job name, how long it is running. Job name is kind of cryptic and the user name is always BPC_SYSADMIN and not able to get any additional information. Is there a way to find more details about the job/process that is running (whether it is a input template and which input template, whether it is a DM package and which package, whether it a report/EVDRE and which one etc. Plus the BPC user name)?
Couple of times, the user received the error message u201CSystem error: -2146697205u201D after it ran for a while.

You can distinguish between reports and DM Packages easily: reports/IS run in DIA process while DM packages in BGD.
To find out which BGD process corresponds to which DM Package take note of the time that package started (Local time). Than go to SM37 with user ID BPC* and find a job that started at same time (Server time).
Looking into job details you can find on what Application server it's running and PID - this uniqely identifies BGD process in SM50.
