Unsupported Transport

I am trying to watch a video and did not know if there was anything I could do to make this video play on quick time. I have quick time version 7.5. I keep getting unsupported transport...

Sorry if my answer went over your head.
System Preferences/QuickTime/Advanced
Look under Miscellaneous and remove the check mark for .smil format. Restart your browser for these changes to take effect.
To change what application opens a file (double click action) you need to find the file using the Finder.
Click (just once to highlight) and open the Get Info window (File menu).
About half way down the window you'll see "Open with:" and a pull down menu of choices.
Pick Real Player (if it's in the list) or choose "other" and navigate to the Real Player application. This assumes you've got Real Player (free) installed.
Use the "Change All" button to now open any .smil file with Real Player.

  • Quicktime 7.1.1.  doesn't playback/ ERROR 461 unsupported transport

    Greetings,
    Quicktime was working fine (well as well as it works), then I decided to go up to Quicktime PRO 7.1.1., when I tried it out for the first time I visited C-Span.org to watch the Daily White House briefing and nothing, just "error 461-unsupported transport."
    I have no idea how to correct this problem, but I did look inside the internet plugins directory because I thought possible the VLC plugin was cauing the problem. . . . I haven't downloaded that one yet-because it ain't in there.

    You appear to have a choice between Real and Windows
    Media streaming here -- not QT. Would assume you need
    to install or reinstall one and/or the other playback
    components/playeers/plug-ins.
    Oh, the bit about the "VLC Plugin," well I didn't know until you mentioned it in your response, but the reason I mentioned it was because I read another post within-believe it or not the MAC OS portion on the discussion group about removing the "VLC Plugin," and NO wonder I don't have a VLC Plugin IT'S WINDOWS.
    But, just for a moment forget the second paragraph of my complaint-question, consider only the top portion by itself and see if you can determine a course of action for this situation... Thank you, sorry that I have so thoroughly confused the issue. . . Martin

  • Unsupported Transport 461 = Inability to Play Video Clips

    My QuickTime upgrade has turned out to be a major WasteOTime. It will play anything except the video clip off NPR (Human Voice Shattering Glass...) I'm trying to play. All I see when I attempt to open the file is the lower part of the QuickTime player, the words "unsupported transport" quickly scroll by and the number "461" settles into the info bar. "461" is the QuickTime error code for "unsupported transport." That seems to have something to do with my firewall, and Quicktime's recommended "fix" is to go to the Quicktime Preferences and under "Advanced" set Transport Setup Protocol to HTTP. I did all that and the same thing happens all over again. Yet if I go to the QuickTime site and try to play one of their clips there, no problem. It's also frustrating that no one else in the Apple community seems to have ever encountered this problem with Quicktime, which seems highly unlikely. Any suggestions?

    Here is the URL: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=10255528
    I was able to take a look at this NPR video clip using a newly downloaded and installed version of Real Player. I will have to try the "repair permissions and restart" option down the line, but I have no doubt it will work. For whatever reason I still need to be reminded of such critical details. Thank you for that reminder!

  • Downloading video "unsupported transport"

    I have Quick Time Pro and am trying to download unprotected video from this UN site:
    http://www.un.org/webcast/unfccc/2007/index.asp?go=10071215
    It will not even play - I get the message "unsupported transport."
    I can play these files on my Windows machine with Real Player but can't download them.
    I really need to do this so I can edit and use for an educational presentation in early March. Can someone help?
    Thanks

    That is a Real Player video. Works fine for me.
    To download it you will need the Real Player 11 beta for Mac:
    http://www.real.com/mac/realplayer?pageid=macSuperPassPage&pageregion=playerbutton&src=guide%2Csp_os_mac&pcode=rn&opage=sp_osmac
    It's a free download.

  • Recieving error when signing a document

    When signing a document, users are receiving >>Timestamp signature property generation error: Unsupported transport protocol
    Time Stamp Server is configued as Server URL:  IP Address of Time Server
    Any ideas on how to resolve this error?

    Hi,
    The problem is probably the URL for the timestamp server is an SSL address (i.e. https://) and the certificate that the OS needs to validate the SSL connection is not available. One thing to try is to copy the address for the timestamp server and paste it into a browser. This may give you the option of installing the SSL certificate.

  • Video accelerator

    Is there any documentation on setting this up? The video accelerator and license are enabled. I have setup a windows media server (wms) in my lab. I'm using windows media player for my client to connect to the wms via a url. The core waas is reporting TGDL on the connection and the branch side is reporting TDL. The wms is actually behind the branch waas.

    Best regards,

    Is this statement that causes the exception? "Response response = call.invoke(endPoint, "");"
    If so you might be able to catch the SOAPException and interogate the response variable - surround the call with a try, catch block and within the catch you can get the MimeHeaders and check "Content-Type" If it's "text/html" then you know it not a SOAP message so don't use the SOAP api calls.
    It sounds like the web service is offline and the web server is trying to send you an HTML error page which of course is not a SOAP message and so a SOAPException is thrown.

  • Java.security.InvalidKeyException: Unsupported key type: SunPKCS11-MyPKCS11

    I am having a very strange issue with my CAC card. I wrote a small Java program to login into ProjectForge.mil webservice
    ICollabNetSoap m_sfSoap = (ICollabNetSoap)
    ClientSoapStubFactory.getSoapStub(ICollabNetSoap.class, "https://project.forge.mil/");
    String sessionId = m_sfSoap.login("", "");
    After entering CAC PIN, it is throwing exception saying that "javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: unsupported_certificate".
    More specific exception is:
    Caused by: java.security.InvalidKeyException: Unsupported key type: SunPKCS11-MyPKCS11 RSA private key, 2048 bits (id 39632224, token object, sensitive, unextractable)
    Note: I have asked three of my co-workers to run the same program using their CAC's and seems to be working fine.
    Only the difference between their CACs and mine is CA(Certificate Authority Value. Their's is 24 and where as mine is 25). It looks like JVM was not able to understand the private key of my CAC.
    On the other note, my CAC cworks fine with web service client application that was written in .Net.
    I am using Jdk-1.6.0_26 and I have already downloaded and installed latest jce .jar files.
    Any help is greatly appreciated
    Here are the exception details:

  • Unsupported Content-Type: application/soap+xml

    I've created a simple composite application with a bpel jbi module using glassfishesbv21.
    The bpel process starts when I invoke a webservice (soap-binding).
    When I run a test case for the ca everything works fine.
    When I call the webservice from an external web application, the client (created with netbeans wizard bundled in glassfishesbv21) obtains the response as expected and doesn't report any exception while the server rises a com.sun.xml.ws.server.UnsupportedMediaException.
    Googoling I found that this maybe caused by the use of soap1.1 and soap1.2 but is also true that JAX-WS runtime should look into the WSDL to determine the binding being used and configures itself accordingly.
    the stacktrace is:
    Finished processing outbound messages.

    Hi,
    Content-Type: application/xml
    ...check for the content type of the message that is sent ot the WS.....with the above mentioned content-type going to the WS currently...WS is not able to parse the req and hence the error....in other words wrong format being being passed.
    Regards,
    ABhishek.

    Hi I am in trouble with JAX-WS 2.1.2M1
    I try to call my Webservice like this:
    Service service = Service.create(serviceName);
            service.addPort(portName, SOAPBinding.SOAP11HTTP_BINDING, "http://spblue.liberty:8084/SPBlue/GlobalLogoutService");
    Dispatch<SOAPMessage> disp = service.createDispatch(portName, SOAPMessage.class, Service.Mode.MESSAGE);
            SOAPMessage message = XmlUtil.getSOAPMessageFromString(request);
            SOAPMessage response = disp.invoke(message);when my disp invokes I get following Exception which seems to as a little Problem, anyway I dont know how to get rid of this Exception.

    my ServiceClass is:
    @ServiceMode(value=Service.Mode.MESSAGE)
    @WebServiceProvider( targetNamespace="http://spblue.liberty:8084/wsdl/globalLogout")
    public class GlobalLogoutServiceImpl implements Provider<SOAPMessage> {
         * Web service operation
        public SOAPMessage invoke( SOAPMessage logoutRequest ){
            return logoutRequest;
    }So how can I set the Charachter set before invokikng the service.
    Or how can I change the Service to accept UTF-8.
    Well, I dont know.
    Any help is welcome.

    Hi,
    I don't know if this can help you, but I had a similar problem while invoking a web service. Eventually, I found out that the server was returning an html error page, and not the expected xml answer.
    That's why the client code raises such an error... It means that the MIME type of the anser is text/html (for the html page) and not the text/xml type of the 'nominal' web service answer.
    You can verify this by using a proxy to intercept the http request and answer involved in this web service invocation (use Fiddler for instance). Then, you will see that the server responds by sending an html page saying that something is wrong.
    Hope this helps...
    Sam
