Unsupported USB Device. Disconnect Cable.

Hello EXperts,
I am using Nokia Asha 200. I was trying to connect my phone using USB cable with my PC. I want to update the content of my phone. But I tried to connect, my phone shows an error message:
"Unsupported USB device. Disconnect Cable". & windows didn't detect any device.
I have Nokia suite 3.6.36 installed & I am using Windows 7 Professional (genuine). I have to restart the PC  but nothing happened.
Anyone can please suggest my some solution.
Thanks,
Anuj Rathi

i will reply to myself, for unknown reasons, it works when i plug it into the same usb port as previously, but it does not work (error message) when  i plug it into another port than the one where it was connected at first...

  • Unsupported USB Device on x3-02

My x3 don't seem to recognize the USB cable when I try to connect it to the computer. It would just simply say. "Unsupported USB Device. Disconnect Cable."
What am I supposed to do?

Am from India and even I'm facing the same problem about the USB cable not being detected. I just updated my phone's software a week ago and then everything was fine. But again the same problem of the data cable connection is bugging me.
Is it the defect of my device?
Or is my phone having some software problem?

  • How can I access an unsupported usb device that's seen by system profiler

is there a way to access an unsupported usb device? my parents bought my daughter a cheap and easy to use digital camera and I am looking for a way to access the photos. the camera's manual mentions that there is no mac driver and there are no plans to develop one. I plug it in anyways in the event the system / Iphoto recognizes this, But I get nothing on the desktop as in a generic disk image icon. I open system profiler and My G4 knows the camera is plugged in. If this interface between the two is recognized how can I access the camera?
does a driver have to be written to allow access? I saw a usb dev kit on version tracker but I have no clue as to how to write a driver. I could get a flash card reader but I was hoping that there may be some back door or an app somewhere to allow me to get the photos off the camera.
    thanks!!!

    Hi, Israel.
You wrote: " I plug it in anyways in the event the system / Iphoto recognizes this"See if Image Capture recognizes the camera. Launch Image Capture, which is in the Macintosh HD > Applications folder.
Otherwise, you're probably going to have to go the route of using a card reader. While the connection may be USB, they may be using some non-standard implementation that requires a driver.
Writing drivers is not something you'd want to even attempt since you didn't create the hardware!
    Good luck!

  • Closed-lid mode USB devices disconnect randomly

I just recently connected my MacBook Pro to my Samsung DLP HDTV and started running it in closed-lid mode so my TV is the primary/only display. I also have an external hard drive (USB), external mouse (wireless with USB toggle) and the new Apple bluetooth keyboard.
The problem I have isn't entering the closed-lid mode. But once in closed-lid mode (after a short period of time) all of my USB devices disconnect and then reconnect. I know this because I get an error saying that my hard drive was removed improperly (please eject before disconnecting, etc) and I also get a message from my mouse software saying that my mouse has been disconnected. But then they reconnect themselves (hard drive shows up again on desktop and mouse software informs me that the mouse is present again).
Has anyone had this problem before where USB devices disconnect in the closed-lid mode? I just upgraded to Leopard (formatted the drive and started from scratch). I never tried this within Tiger so I don't have that for a reference. This is really annoying because I have my entire music collection on the external hard drive and it just stops playing when this happens and I have to restore the path to my music collection within iTunes' preferences (it defaults back to ~/Music/iTunes/ when it figures out that the hard drive is no longer there).
The strange thing about this is that when I don't run in closed-lid mode this never happens. I'll be more than happy to provide more details if needed. I greatly appreciate your help.
    Thanks!
    Mike

i appear to have the same problem under Vista (via Bootcamp) on MBP (2007). i close the lid, and 5-20min later i hear the sound a USB device makes when it disconnects, and a minute or 5 later it reconnects. i don't actually have any USB devices plugged in, but there are several components in the MBP that are connected internally via USB (DVD drive, etc).
what's almost as annoying is that the LCD backlight will come back on of its own accord, even though the MBP's been idle for more than the LCD/backlight time-out period. after the next idle timeout it turns off, only to turn back on againa while later. i see this under OSX & Vista.

  • X3-02: USB device not supported

I bought this phone 5 months back. I had detected the problems it was giving me, from the start itself. It had a problem with the display. It used to go blink away, all by its own or even restart. Recently, the problem had aggravated and there was some other proble. This used to happen whenever I connected my uSB device to my cell and m pc. My wouldn't detect it and the msg would appear on the cell's screen reading, "Unsupported USB device. Please Disconnect It".
I went to Nokia Care. After 8 days of service I got my cell back with software upgraded and the problems taken car of. After almost less than a week the message of 'UNSUPPORTED DEVICE' has started to appear on the screen, which means there's certainly a problem with the device itself (I may be wrong).
I would be really thankful if anyone gave me a suggestion, which i haven't tried out yet.

check if your usb connector has dust in it, it could cause bad conenction which could result in the error message you have seen.

  • [SOLVED] Openbox+Thunar, how to show usb devices in thunar?

Hi.  I've been running a pretty standard Xfce environment for a while.  When I plug in a usb drive, I get a new item pop up in the "DEVICES" section of the left panel in thunar (note, it doesn't automount the device, it just shows that it's there and only mounts it when I click on it...I like this behaviour).
Now, I'm setting up an even lighter-weight environment, just openbox and tint2 with thunar as the file manager.  But when I'm logged into the openbox environment, I don't get the item in the "DEVICES" section in thunar (but it still works fine in xfce).
If it run thunar from the command line and plug in a usb drive I get this message in the terminal
(thunar:21205): thunar-WARNING **: Failed to launch the volume manager (Failed to execute child process "thunar-volman" (No such file or directory)), make sure you have the "thunar-volman" package installed.
I don't see why I would need thunar-volman if it works fine in xfce.  If I install thunar-volman and do the same, I get this message
    thunar-volman: Unsupported USB device type.
    thunar-volman: Unsupported USB device type.
    thunar-volman: Unknown block device type.
So I'm wondering if maybe there is a daemon that is autostarted during an xfce session that makes thunar probe for devices to be plugged in or something like that.  Why does it work in an xfce session, but not in an openbox session?

    Thanks for your replies.
henk:  I tried installing polkit-gnome and creating the rule as per the wiki, but it didn't work.  Volume detection seems to work fine in xfce without this package.
jv2112:  I added udiskie to .config/openbox/autostart and it seems to work.  I've had problems with udiskie in the past; it seemed to have some trouble unmounting the drives properly after a write as I would find that the newly written files were corrupt.  But it seems to be working fine.
I'll mark this as solved, but I'm still curious as to how xfce-thunar is mounting the usb devices.
One clue is that with udiskie, devices get mounted to /media, whereas in xfce they get mounted to /var/run/media/username/ (or something like that).

  • Mac Pro randomly disconnecting USB devices

    Hello All,
Am hoping someone out there will be able to advise me. I have a 1TB external SATA drive connected directly to one of my Mac Pro USB ports, (that is, not via a USB hub). The Mac Pro has a habit of randomly disconnecting the drive during file transfers. It seems to particularly do it when the screen saver initiates itself. I've disabled the screen saver but unfortunately that hasn't resolved the problem. The problem itself doesn't seem to be isolated to the external USB hard drive either. The Mac has on occasions disconnected other USB devices too.
Any suggestions or ideas on what the cause of it is and how I resolve it?
    Many thanks
    GPJ007

Yes Grant, I've exchanged the power suppply, cables, the HUB and also the HDD and checked them on my MBP - they work fine. The only USB slot that's working fine is the one on the PCI-E Card. All internal Ports do eject the USB HDD's and also have problem with Printercommunication. I can mount the USB HDD without Problem, until I want to access a larger File or transfer data from or to it, then it ejects itself - well after freezing the Computer for 5min first, until the unmount message appear.
By the way: Sorry, was a bit frustrated. I'm working as an Freelance Editor and really need to have a working USB. But the only thing I found were a huge amount of questions to the same problem, but no solution. And from apple side the only advice was to not use third party device or use only powered HDD's and HUB's. That's not really helpful...
GPJ007:  Ok, I hoped to not have to make a new Setup of the OS and all the program. Well in a few weeks there is a gap in the order chain, I'm going to reinstall the OS then and let you know about sucess or not.
    Thanks in advance

  • Disconnecting all USB and firewire cables before upgrading OS X?

    Hello,
I would like to confirm my understanding of some empirically effective advice provided in this previous Post about disconnecting USB and firewire cables before doing a Software Update and I presume also a Download update. What is gained by disconnecting the peripherals connected to the USB and firewire ports?
I'm getting ready to update from OSX 10.2.8 to 10.3.9 (using full Retail CDs, of course).
    1. So it would NOT be a good idea to do the update in an external firewire drive? I had done this previously to leave my original OSX 10.1.5 in my internal drive alone while I tested the upgrade to 10.2.8 in a firewire drive. (I have since added a second internal drive.)
    2. That I should disconnect my two printers from their USB ports.
    3. If I'm doing a Download update vs. Software Update (from System Preferences), I guess I should also disconnect the cable to the modem?
    4. Run Repair Permissions before and after each software update step?
    Thanks in advance.
    Raymon

Browsing through the Apple instructions on installing updates I do see in the section on Troubleshooting... to "Disconnect or remove anything that did not come with your computer" including removing any non-Apple RAM -- although this is recommended after an unsuccessful installation. Disconnecting the devices seems like an easy and prudent enough precaution.
I do wonder now about again doing an update on a volume in an external firewire drive. This did work for me twice before in upgrading from OS X 10.1.5 to 10.2.8 (which is markedly better than the former). I suppose I could try it again although this time in a Panther upgrade; if it fails I could upgrade in an internal drive.

  • IPod re-syncs on USB device connecting or disconnecting

    Hi All,
Having a strange issue with my iPod 2G. It connects and syncs with no problems, then I shut iTunes but leave the iPod in the dock to charge. Whenever I connect or disconnect a different USB device though, iTunes re-opens and the iPod re-syncs.
Not an overly bad problem in itself but a little tedious to keep having to eject it again.
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers

  • LAN disconnects when removing USB device.

Hi. So I have a concern about my fairly new MSI board. Model: Z97 Guard-Pro. Sometimes when I plug/unplug a USB device from the backpanel 3.0 ports (lowest down set), my LAN will disconnect. My router connects to the mobo via an Ethernet cable which becomes disconnected. However the LAN does not disconnect when I INSERT a USB device, only SOMETIMES when disconnecting. Nevermind, it disconnects when insert and disconnect.
I then have to remove the Ethernet cable and plug it back in for it to recognise the Ethernet device. Sometimes it wont even recognise when doing that. I have to disable the adapter in Windows 7 and the re-enable for it to recognise. What can cause this issue?

Quote from: flobelix on 01-March-15, 19:05:06
Does the same happen when you just just touch the lan connector?
Just tried it now. Jiggled it left and right with some play in movement and it disconnected in Windows but that seems to be because the contacts aren't touching. Pushed it back in and it reconnected. However with the USB issue when I take the cable out and put it back in, sometimes the LAN adapter will still say disconnected. The LAN cable is not touched in any way and it will DC.

  • I have pluged a portable battery to the USB and my macbook pro stopped working after that, right before it shut down there was a message on the screen that said something like " USB device is withdrawing so much power, please disconnect and connect again?

I have plugged a portable battery to the USB and my macbook pro stopped working after that, right before it shut down there was a message on the screen that said something like " USB device is withdrawing so much power, please disconnect and connect again?
if the device I connected have caused this, shouldn't the macbook itself have some type of protection that should prevent this from happening.
because when I took it to an apple certified maintenance shop, the guy said that now it could only run while connected to the power. it won't run on batteries. and that I have to change the motherboard.
can I just replace the damaged part only, would apple consider this as a design issue and they could pay for it, or should I just buy a new motherboard for 800$.
    Help.

    BB1B2,
The problem is in finding a tech shop that will/can do board level repairs on Macs. They are few. And I certainly wouldn't spend $800 on a new logic board - I would replace the computer if I had to pay that much!
You could call around to a few repair shops and see if they feel competent to isolate the problem and do a board level repair - but I'm afraid, in the end, that your search will be futile.
    Sorry,
    Clinton

  • I have a 3rd generation ipod that will not connect. I keep getting an error message that says "USB Device Not Recognized".  I have tried 3 seperate cables and none of them are working.  Please help!

It keeps telling me that one of the USB devices for this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it.  I have tried all of the ports and still am not having any luck.  I have purchased 3 brand new cables and none of them are working.  I have tried to update the driver but it says I am using the most up to date.  I have tried to reset the Ipod by holding the center button and menu button until the apple appears.  I am not sure what else to try.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  My computer is Windows Vista!

    Hello butterflygirlie,
Have you tried uninstalling the driver for your iPod from within Device Manager?  After uninstalling it, go ahead and unplug your iPod and plug it back in.  Doing so should cause your system to locate the proper driver for it.

  • USB device keeps disconnecting/connecting after upgrading to Windows 8.1

I have a device(Pedal for Sim Racing) connected via USB, everything is working fine in Windows 7 and 8 but after upgrading my machine to Windows 8.1 the device keeps disconnecting and connecting for like every 2 seconds. But after I open the Property Sheet
in Game Controllers panel the disconnection issue was gone, if I reconnect the device the issue persist. Other people who have similar device also encounters the same issue after upgrading to windows 8.1. The issue persist with or without the device driver
    installed.
Any idea, what might cause this?
    Best regards
    mark

I'v got this exact same problem with my Win 7 desktop.  I've also got pedals and wheel but don't see it as different than all the other USB devices.  I'm using a bunch of USB, but no hubs, including 3 external storage hard drives. But the momentary
disconnect appears in all devices as best as i can see..even my long time trouble free head phones..keyboard..and all.  Sometimes the sound goes away and if I unplug and replug them the sound comes back, and other times I have to exit and re enter the
game. I also get video crashes ..maybe not related.IDK..and have to restart all, because I've got three black screens in Eyefinity. For years my system was trouble free and its just slowly started getting worse. I've thought it had to do with system "sleep"
etc but long ago went to never sleep max performance etc..Makes no difference. Keep thinking its my hardware or my house wiring etc..But can't seem to solve it. I replaced my Mobo/chip/ram maybe 6 months ago and that appears to have not helped.  It seems
to be getting worse. I hate to start replacing parts piece by piece..cost a lot of money and sometimes doesn't help.
When I'm playing a game I can often hear "faint" sound of USB connect disconnect happening with regularity..that little bing/boink sound etc..So it must just be constantly happening...Seems weird. Didn't have anything like this happening years
ago with pretty much the same hardware and same Win7 with the continuing updates etc.
What can be causing this common problem?

  • Windows 7 not forgetting disconnected USB devices, only on one PC, but not others/difer OS

Okay so I've got 3 computers:
    1. Asus M5A99X EVO MOBO, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
    2. Lenovo Ideapad u310 LAPTOP, Windows 8 (just 8)
    3. Asrock z87e-ITX MOBO, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
This issue only happens on computer 3 under windows 7.
I've got a KVM switch that's supposed to make switching between these computers easier, it's very basic, it has one USB port going into it, and I plug my keyboard into that, my keyboard has a USB port on it that I plug my mouse into.
When I'm on windows 7 on computer 3 the KVM works fine for about the first 4-7 switches between it and another computer. But after that I get "USB Bandwidth Exceeded" popups. I can switch the port it's plugged into the computer and it will start
working again, but that defeats the purpose of having a KVM. And today it even locked up while I was MANUALLY switching the cable between my computers front access ports, because obviously the KVM wasn't reliable (like I switched between computers once every
4-10 minutes), and even BSOD on me.
I've contacted both Asrock and the KVM manufacturer and they both say it's the other's fault.
So I shrank my C: on Comp3 today and installed windows 8.1 on it, and than I spammed the KVM switching like 8+ times, and it never once locked up or complained about me exceeding the bandwidth.
So that means it's now Windows 7's fault, but it doesn't do this for Comp1.
Somehow my new computers Windows 7 is not working right, and I don't know any viable options I can do about it. (comp3 is only about 1-2 weeks old) I've ran all the windows updates I can and it no longer says there are new updates when i run it.
So I need some help about finding out why my Comp3's Win7 isn't forgetting that a USB device is no longer attached, because Win8.1 seems to have no problem with it.
And just sticking with Windows 8 isn't really the solution, as I can't %^#$#!@ stand Windows8/Metro/Tiles/tablet$@!#onmydesktop.
(laptop is a work laptop and i have no choice, but it's modded so I have my start menu back, but still it's annoying anytime I accidentally leave my desktop.)

...because it happens with even just the keyboard.
Even though it all works with Win8.1 have you:
    -Tried a different keyboard?
-Tried connecting mouse and keyboard to an external powered hub and connecting the hub to the kvm?
-Tried connecting kvm to powered hub?
