Unused assets clanup in OER 11.1.1.7

Hi all,
is there any way how to delete all assets from the Oracle Enterprise Repository?  I know that there is logical delete of an asset (Asset is marked as deleted but still in DB) but it not enough.
Is is possible to recreate DB schema without using product installation guide (existing installation has to be able to use it )?
Thanks
Patrik

I've had video syncing problems (not with music though) when I updated my iPhone 4s to the new IOS 7, but I finally figured it out. What I did was I plugged my 4s in to my computer (Windows 7, 64-bit), then opened iTune (11.1.3.8), clicked on my iPhone tab on the upper right, under "Summary" put a 'check' in the Manually sync music & videos.
Looking at the picture above, notice the: Movies, Music Videos, and  Home Videos; are now available. Before this method, these three wasn't there. These are all in the original Videos app for the iPhone. I hope this help you guys too.

  • Is it possible to add a new Asset type in OER

    Hi,
I need to know whether it is possible for me to manually add a custom asset type to the already existing list of Asset types in OER.
There is no specific asset type for BPA. I need to create an asset type for BPA.. Any suggestions would be helpful.
    Thanks.

Thank you Lalbuque for your reply..
I have found the solution myself..
It can be done from "Asset Editor" Application.
Actions menu -> Manage Types . A new Application "Type Manager" opens. Click on File -> New option and we can create our own asset types..

    Hi,
Can you briefly explain what doesn "unused" asset code mean ?
If you are looking for asset has been created but no values have been posted, you can find out from ANLC table for all value related fields are equal to zero (KANSW, ANSWL, KNAFA etc)

  • Launching Asset Editor in OER throws exception

    Hi,
While Launching Asset Editor, in the middle of my work, I started facing one issue.
From OER Console (http://localhost:7101/oer), when I click on Edit/Manage Assets Link, it downloads registrartool.jnlp file.
When I double click on this file, It launches Asset Editor but this editor does not have Action Menu and also, it does not show any assets under different folders.
On Server, I get exception as

Looks as while launching jnlp file, security context was not carried. Did anyone face this issue? Earlier it was working fine. Just in the middle, it started giving this error.
I have deleted all temp files from my machine. I have deleted server's tmp folder which contains cache but it is of no help.
If anyone has faced this issue, Please suggest.

Solved the problem locally. It appears that one of the related projects copied an older version of the javafx jar file from our repository because the project had the checkbox for copying dependent libraries selected. Meanwhile the JDK is using the latest JDK. The apparent conflict was resolved by unselecting the copy dependent libraries checkbox in the properties window for that project.

  • [BPM Governance] Asset management by OER

    Hi Experts,
IHAC that asked for a BPM asset management model. Once identified the BPM assets, they should be governed. Firstly, I need an approach more functional (without mention of technology/products).
So, Does anybody know where I could find some documentation that explain about Asset Lifecycle with its phases and processes?
After that, the use of OER will be considered.
Any help, it would be very appreciated.

The Predictive Maintenance Model in gallery is a good starting point.
Whether it's good enough for your purposes depends on the quality of data: noisiness, how many samples of pass/fail are there to train the model, is there additional preprocessing or data normalization required.
Also, it depends on how high accuracy is required in your use case: for very high accuracy you may have to try different kinds of algorithms and use Sweep Parameters module to optimize their parameters.
    Hope this helps,
    Roope

  • Deleting Unused Assets

I have been working on a site for over a year, and I have
accumulated many images in the folder that I no longer need. I am
looking for an easy way to find assets that are not being used and
delete them in bulk. I have seen this feature in other web design
programs, but I cannot find it in dreamweaver. Hunt-and-find will
take forever because many current and old images have very similar
names and I'm afraid to delete an image that is currently in use.
    Thanks.

  • Post Cap & deleting unused asset shells

    Hi There
Two questions I need assistance on :
    1. How to identify whether asset shell was created with post cap indicator ticked. When creating an asset shell that requires post cap depreciation treatment it is very important to have the post cap indicator ticked. If not, depreciation is all lumped with current year depreciation allocation.  Audit issue. Idea is to check unposted asset shells BEFORE settlement rule from PS adds value, so that correction can be made proactively. However, cannot find any report or table that carries this info.
    2. our system has been configured that user will input capitalisation date when creating asset shell. This prevents asset shell being deleted if incorrect. Normally we lock asset shell in such cases. However, when doing fiscal year change at end of year these assets cause AJRW to end in error. How can we delete these shells before running  ARJW?
    Your assistance will be appreciated.
    Nic Goosen

    Hi Ajay
    1. We manually populate capitalisation date so it is mandatory in any case. So cannot settle to shell without capitalisation date. It was a requirement upon implementation to seperate depreciation in GL between current year portion and that part relating to previous year. If post cap block is ticked, it does exactly that when doing ABNAN, but if post cap block is not ticked when creating asset shell depreciation is not seperated in GL and all lumped in current year. Hence the need to ensure users do tick post cap block when creating asset shell that has a prior year date in service.
    2. Yes u are correct.  Shell was created but no value added. When I say ARJW end in error it does show the traditional "red message" but stangely it allows posting with these "errors"??? The message is : asset 12345-2 cannot be processed.
    Thanks.

  • Start Screen Listed as Unused in Library

Just recorded the following for the Adobe Captivate Bug Reporting system:
    ******BUG******
    Concise problem statement:
    Steps to reproduce bug:
1.Set a PNG as start screen instead of Autoplay
    2.Save project
    3.Check Library for Unused Assets
    4. Remove unused assets
    Results:
    1. Start screen is removed because it is flagged as an unused asset.
    2. Movie then starts with slide one.
    Expected results:
    1. Library Cleanup would not see start screen image as "unused."
    2. Library Cleanup should not remove the start screen that is used in place of autoplay.

    WORK AROUND:
Because the startup screen appears instead of AutoPlay, each time you preview the movie/project you will see the startup screen and will have to click the play button (a triangular shaped arrow). This happens even if you are only previewing the next five slides. Therefore, the workaround is this: don't put on the startup screen until you are at the final publishing stage; use AutoPlay until you are ready to release the project.
Adobe is considering fixing the bug for the next release (date and content unknown).
NOTE: Before final publishing, purge the library of unused assets, THEN set up a start screen (and turn off AutoPlay), then publish, then luxuriate in accolades.

  • Project/asset management

Is there a time efficient way to manage assets inFCP?
In Premiere for Mac. versions 2 thro'5 I think, it used to be possible to " remove unused" assets, i.e if it wasn't in the timeline you could remove it before or even after saving the project.
This saved loads of time and frustration.
I spend hours reconnecting assets that are in the browser, but not in the project.
If there's a way to do this please tell me!
If there isn't; it would be the best improvement and best reason to upgrade in my opinion,
    cheers, alan

Crack open that manual and look up MEDIA MANAGER and all that it does. One of the things it does is what you are asking here.

  • Removing assets & comparing files

I'll post this to feedback as a feature request also, but just in case, does anyone know how to do the following or of any utilities that could do it?
    1. Wouldn't it be great to be able to remove any unused assets, particularly tiffs etc from templates, from a file once the presentation is finished? Any easy way to do this? I know I can delete unused slide templates, but this still seems to leave unnecessary tiffs in the package contents.
    2. This would be great: any way to compare two similar Keynote files to find out how they differ -- both in terms of assets included, but more importantly in terms of slides used. Some kind of side by side in a lightbox view would be fantastic. Could some Applescript whiz rumble something up??
Both usage issues are the same for Powerpoint too, so it'd be a jump ahead for Keynote to have these. If there's already a way to do it, please pass on the hint.

  • Multi-disk project revisted - New Solution

I have a workaround for the lack of being able to design multiple disks in a single DVD Studio Pro project.
    Simply put, do it anyway!
First, gather all your DVD assets into one project. Design your first disk as usual: tracks, menus, scripts, etc. Rename the head object of the disk with the name you plan for the disk.
Then design the menus of your second disk, but don't link it to your first. Don't worry that your project will exceed DVD capacity, just do it.
Repeat this for all the disks, reusing the common assets as you go. Save your project. *Make a back up for safety.* You should probably lock both copies in the Finder as well.
When you're ready to burn, just delete all the items for the disks you don't want to burn now, rename the disk title, and set your first item to the head object of your project (and whatever other per-disc control mappings you need). Your disk will be sized for the remaining used content. There will be no need to remove unused assets.
Once you've burned your first disk, revert the project and repeat for the next disk. Repeat until finished. *Don't save the project.* If you accidentally do and the project wasn't locked, you should still have your backup project file. Duplicate your backup, lock it, and resume where you left off.
As a bonus of this, you can also combine all your assets into one big master disk and save it as a DVD-formatted hard drive or BD-R. A cheap DVD player modded with a removable hard drive bay or stage rack can play the former, as can Apple's DVD Player. I haven't yet tested any Blu-ray players on their ability to play the latter, but I plan to test a PS3 for this soon. (Imagine having an entire season of a TV series on one DVD, and letting it play from start to finish without interruption!)
Wait until you're all done with your individual disks to link up the one-big-disk. It isn't all that easy to make clean breaks for individual disk mastering when buttons point across disks. (If someone has a good solution for this, such as an interstitial script that can handle missing tracks without errors and Do The Right Thing, I'd like to know. The more foolproof the better.)

  • I lose my audio when I do my editing with CS4 Pro Help!

I still have audio as I can see the bars to the right of the timeline.  How can I retrieve the audio?

    Good morning!
OK, let's step back a bit to your two Projects.
In Project 1, you have the Audio and it plays fine. You did a Copy/Paste of some of the Assets from Project 1, and added them to Project 2. Here the Audio does not play. Is that correct?
Many of us have encountered problems, when Audio is Copied/Pasted, even within one Project.
Now, assuming that the actual source files have not been moved around, the links to those should be fine in your Project file (the PRPROJ file), but migh have become "confused." Select one of the offending Audio Clips in the Project Panel, and hit the M key (Match), to see if this refreshes the link.
If that does not cure things, in the Timeline, select one of those Clips, and Rt-click, choosing Render/Replace. This creates a WAV file for that Clip's Audio, and Replaces the original with this. The color of the Audio portion will change in the Timeline. Test.
If that does not cure things, I'd Open Project 1, and test it for Audio. If all is good there, do a Save_As, giving this new Project a unique name. This will allow you to work on the "new" Project, but keep the original one untouched. Now, just delete the portions of Project 1, that will not be used in Project 2. This is done from the Timeline. When done, go to Project>Delete Unused, to eliminate the now "Unused" Assets from the Project Panel. Basically, cleaning up this intermediate Project. When done, you will have a new trimmed Project, with just the material that you will need. Now, hit Save (Ctrl+S). Exit and Open Project 2. Do the same Save_As, so you will now be working with a version of Project 2, keeping the original safe. Import your "trimmed" version of Project 1, into Project 2. In this intermediate version of Project 2, Delete the problem source footage. Open up Bin with the Imported Project in it. Here, to keep Copy/Paste out of the mix, I'd drag the Assets from the Project Panel (in the Bin(s) for the footage from Project 1A. This should work fine. Test.
Good luck, and please let us know how it goes. I tried to give you steps for a couple of methods, going from easiest to more advanced. I'd try them in that order, so you do not do more work, than is required to get your Audio into Project 2. Also, remember that I am working with PrPro 2.0, so there could be slight differences between it and CS3/CS4. The syntax should be similar enough that you can figure out the differences. If not, some CS3/CS4 user can step up and tell us both, "oh, that name has been changed. It's now _____."

PS - there is still a variation on the last suggestion, but we'll not bring it out, unless everything so far fails.

  • Feedback about glitches, misbehaviors errors, missing features, bugs

I couldn't find a thread where I could submit feedback about glitches, misbehaviors errors, missing features, bugs (and things of that nature) encountered when using Edge and needed a place where I could collect them writing about them as they happen and before I forget.
This is not a whishlist, rather simply a place where I'd like to send feedback and hopefully get clarifications on something that may be a non working feature, erratic behavior or a bug.
That said here is the first one of them:
    Where: Edge Animate > Library>Assets
What: Impossible to remove from the list the folder and/or assets
    When: Always
How: After adding asset (add an image to the composition) remove the image from the composition. Then if you would like to remove that asset, there isn't an option to do so. The contextual menu only offer one choice "Reveal in Finder" (on a Mac) which is basically reading the path of the asset and opening the containing folder for the selected asset.
Only removing the file or folder from the location (which Edge has stored as a path) would yield a removal from the list of the Library>Asset The item will be removed from the list when, upon right clicking and selecting "Reveal in Finder" Edge will not find the asset and ask the user if they want to reload the content of that list which basically will refresh the pointers and if the asset won't be found then the entry for it will be removed from the list. (Quite a cumbersome hoop-jumping just to remove an asset from the list)
Why: Users wanting to manage and update the content of the Assets may want to see some listed but may want to ignore other entries that have been replaced with different assets, but they want to keep the files within the folder where they were originally placed.
For instance adding images 001.jpg through 100.jpg  and later removing all odd images or even ones from the composition, the Library will still list them in the assets unless removed from that folder "physically" and placing them somewhere else doing an "update" in the library pane later as explained above. Leaving the unused assets in the list when not necessary adds to clutter and having to perform a manual workaround to update the UI isn't very efficient
(a minor missing feature... not a feature request to start this feedback thread)
Hope this helps keep track of issues, but if there's a better way/system, will be glad to use that instead.
    Cheers!

Bug Reporting (is there anywhere users can provide feedback about bugs/program's glitches?)
Not knowing where to list what would appear to be bugs/glitches I'll keep adding them here and hopefully someone at the Edge Team will look into it eventually as time allows
Issue: Min W in Symbols' stage property won't stick to percentage.
    To reproduce behavior:
    - Create symbol,
    - Double click to edit created symbol,
    - When in Symbol Edit mode, click on the stage (once),
    - Edit the Min W of the symbol's stage properties on the left "Properties" panel,
    - Without changing the value (which will be zero), toggle px to percentage,
    - Save your project,
...et voilà by magic the property you just toggled reverts itself to px
(To make it stick apparently it's necessary to change the value in the text field then toggle px to % and it will be properly kept when saving.)
side note: I don't know if that's something that can be a factor in causing the glitch, but each time a project is saved and a the user is "inside" a symbol's stage, the values in the properties panel will display the main stage properties and then will go load again the properties of the symbol being edited.
    Cheers!

  • Captivate file sizes

Using Captivate 8, have noticed that as you work on files they get bigger, even cutting EVERYTHING out down to a simple slide does not reduce the file size (I've removed everything from the library too).
It seems that Captivate is hanging onto things it no longer needs.
Is there a workaround other than starting from scratch and copying slides across?

are you referring to the output file or the project file itself?
i usually look into the folders of an unzipped output file. The file size of each folder and its contects is usually displayed in the explorer window (windows) or in finder (mac). I have found some unneeded files in there, usually unused assets, on a number of occasions.
