Unused Objects Content Report runs forever

Dear Portal Gurus
we have a lot of content in our portal (thousands of objects created by us)
The main part is from uploading the ERP Roles into the portal.
Our guess is, that quite a bit is not used at all.
It seems that the two "Unused Objects" reports in the support platform are a good starting point for cleaning up.
When i run the Unused Objects - not assigned to Roles report on one server node, it takes forever (is running more than 24 hours)
Does anybody else have this problem too?
Is there a way to get a result anyway?
I ran the Broken Delta Links Detector before, which runs successfully - even though not very fast. So these reports run in general.
We have NW 7.0 SPS 14.

Thank you for your reply.
Personalization is mainly disabled in our portal.
In general the deltalinks were used correctly i think.
Of course broken delatalinks should not exist, but they get created by deleting objects not by creating deltalinks.
I'll try it with a call.

Trimmed 30 days of mail off of about 1,000 users on a Post Office.
When my weekly Analyze/Fix Contents Check/Fix (User/Msg) DB's runs ... it takes forever to complete.
When I look at the running *.CKL job at the root of the wpcsout/chk directory, it shows;

No further info available for this Blob

It's only at the 50th /OFFILES directory out of 254 (after 9 hours of running so far). I understand that this process is correct, but why is it taking so so so long ? I have 8 "GWCheck Worker Threads" assigned, but only 1 is being used for this.
Any way to speed this up ?

How to remove unused objects from the webcatalog In OBIEE11g

Hi,
I want to delete unused objects from obiee11g catalog, i know in obiee10g it's working fine (i.e: we can do it via manage catalog then delete the unused objects) is there any way to do it automatically like RPD utility --->removing unused objects from Physical layer in RPD
fyi: I don't want to delete manualy. i need somethink like button/link to find unused objects(report,filter,folder..etc) from my obiee11g catalog.

Checked with Oracle Support team and confirmed below points
--> incorporated into the Current product and consider as BUG it may resolve future release
--> Currently there isnt any automatic method to remove the unused objects like reports, filters,folder etc from catalog.

How can I run graphic object on report. ( I got REP-1246 Chart not found)

I made a report that consists a chart object. When I run it on report builder, it works well. But When I call the report from client side, I got "Rep-1246 Char Document not found" . I tried to solve it , I couldn't solve the problem . If I delete chart object from report , then report works well on client side. I didn't use graphics builder to create graphs I used only report builder to do it. I read the threads about it , but I couldn't find the solution. All solutions are about path of graphic file. I don't understand it. Because I only have *.rdf *.rep file. There is no any graph file in my system. I can create it in graphic builder but I don't know how can I deploy the graph object into report layout and run ?
I need urgent help ..

Hi again , I used developer 2000. In order to show graphic object on report firstly
I created my graphic object on oracle graph builder.After that I save it like mygraph.OGD . Then I added graphic object on report builder by using graphic object on report builder. When you click the graphic object you will see CHART FILENAME part in part of CHART. In this field , you should add graphic file path that you created on graphic builder. I added mygraph.OGD into this filename part. I worked well.

XL Reporter Run-time Error '429' ActiveX component can't create object

When trying to install XL Reporter on a Windows 2003 Server SP2 machine getting the following Error:

I had described the problem to our technical support team, and they replied as follows u2013
They solved the Script related error by several stages.
They checked the machine for any mal-ware existence by the tool provided by Microsoft (MS Mal-ware remover).

Why displaying cube 0PUR_C01 content runs forever?

We conducted data load to 0PUR_C01 through two different datasources 2LIS_02_ITM and 2LIS_02_SCL. Check the cube, find the initial request for 2LIS_02_ITM did add 1648 records, but when we try to display this cube content by only selecting a few fields for selections like Company Code, Purchasing doc category, and etc., and take the default Max no. of hits of 200, but when hit the execute button to try to display the cube content, find it always runs forever at the selection screen with going no where!

I never had this problem, while displaying the data. better check with your basis, they can help who is working on the system they can guide you. If you do RSRV tests in the parrllel it will take time.
I'm thinking, some of your colleague is doing some thing at that time. Check with your basis.

Object Usage Report

Hi
We're planning our upgrade and would like to do a cleanup of unused objects as a phase 1. Is there a SAP report that we can run that does analysis on e.g. TADIR objects and highlight objects that are not being used for the passed 6 - 12 months?
If not, how would you propose we get this information?

Hi,
An addition to that STAD.
You can at one time call it for maximum one day.
That report is using FM - data_read_function to get stats.
You can call this FM in loop starting your date to today's date.
If any stat is found means program was run..then you can skip that program.

You need to put these figures into context - is the time spent on these waits significant compared to the snapshot interval and the rest of the time spent in the database.
Post an extract from a statspack report (or AWR report if you are licensed for it) showing the "Top 5 Timed Events", and the "Buffer Wait Statistics" from a busy period, and then we might be able to offer some sensible advice.
PS - before posting any of the report, check how to use the "code" tags (in curly brackets) to get the output into: fixed fontRegards

Error when OO ALV report run in background

Hello all,
We recently applied stack 12 for a 7.0 system. My custom ALV report using CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER coding now returns an error when run in Background. It works fine in dialog.
The error occurred in program CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER=======CP. The log message was "Control Framework: Fatal error - GUI cannot be reached".
Is there a solution for OO ALV reports run in the background? I would not like to re-write my ALV reports using the function call. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!!

Yes, you need to code it a little differently, but you can still use CL_GUI_ALV_GRID. Here is an example.

have to check errors on log file....

Datawarehouse job run forever and powershell doesn't allow to enable

It seems that my datawarehouse jobs was running forever without any report producing. I check the jobs enabled and it tell "no" every job except MPSyncJob. Every job status is running as "running" or "not started". I tried to enable the datawarehouse jobs
by powershell cmdlets. When I ran Get-SCDWJob or Enable-SCDWJob the error always appear as following.

I have the same problem with the parser error before eof and unable to retrieve job list but when i try:
get-scdwjob -jobname dwmaintenance -computername MySmServer -dwserver MyDwServer
I get:
A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'dwserver'
I have a feeling that something needs an update and/or is mismatched but I don't know what or where to start.

Business Objects XI report timeout

Hi All,
I'm running a quite simple environment:
Windows 2003 R2 SP2
IIS 6
Oracle Database (remote on Linux but same subnet)
Business Objects Server XI R1 SP3.
I'm having an issue with reports getting time out errors after 2 minutes before they have had a chance to complete.
What I want to do is increase the setting that lets the report run before it errors. I can monitor my database and still see SQL being passed when the 2 minute limit is reached.
I have changed the 'Default Website Properties' Connection Timeout setting in IIS to 500 seconds and restarted, this has not helped the problem. I have looked through all the settings under Servers in the CMC, I can't see the right one. I'm not asking for the connecting setting before I need to log back in, I need the setting that will let a report run for 10 minutes before it errors.
If I run a problem report via Schedule, it completes but is very close to 2 minutes. If I run it On Demand, it times out after 2 minutes, but I can still see the query selecting data then gets terminated.

I had the same problem on a 12 mo cost report that produced 95,000 records and read close to 400,000. Could only run 4 months.
Changed the "Database Records Read When Previewing or Refreshing" parameter to 0 (unlimited) in CrystalReportsProcessingServer
and changed the "Maximum Cache Size (KB)" parameter in CrystalReportsCacheServer from 250,000 to 500,000 - then it would run.
Sorry, wrong thread I think - I was getting "max processing time or max records limit reached" error message but I think my problem was max records rather than timeouts.

Please tell me, how to display ole objects in report builder.
I mean i wanted to print ole object in report, so how to do that.

Just to clarify Lixia's response.
In Reports 9i we have deprecated our OLE functionality. Reports created in prior versions that contain OLE objects should still run, but you will not be able to create new reports containing OLE objects.

Adding authorization objects to Report Painter reports

Hello Everyone,
Is there way to add authorization objects to report painter reports ? I know it is possible to add auth group at the header level but I need to limit access at run time to specific objects, say for example, Cost Center. Is this possible ?
I have seen the Get_Reporter.pdf document and it seems to discusses adding auth group but not auth objects.

Object failed to run due to insufficient security privileges

Recently migrated from BO XI and Crystal XI to bo 4.1sp2 and Crystal 2013.The recurring crystal reports were migared to new environemnt and schulded to run 1st of the month.There are 300+ reports.The report detail says all these reports are schduled by Adminisatrtor because It was migrated by administartor account.
First of the month all reports failed and error is 'object failed to run due to insufficient security privileges.
And In the event viewer, there were warning from source BusinessObject_cms
"The security for the object identified by 41173 could not be verified during schedule attempt."
Can someone help me to find out the root cause of this issue.thanks.

Hello,
There are many possible root causes.
First check that the migration was complete successfully using the Import Wizard or UMT.
Otherwise, this may occur if the owner was not migrated properly or if the universe contains some row level security..
