Unusual Audio Streaming Problem

I have Comcast cable, Linksys cable modem and Airport Extreme router.
I monitor a web site that offers a live audio feed which I am unable to receive via cable UNLESS I run ethernet directly from the modem to my computer.
HOWEVER, I can get the feed using my Verizon Wireless Broadband connection.
I suspect my problem is related somehow to the AE router.
Ideas, anyone?

Audio Stream Problem

Hello - I'm exporting little movies to QuickTime with a DV-Pal codec. Theys eem to emerge with two differnt audio streams, onesays it the First Audio Stream at 1Hz and 3 channels and the other is the second, 2 channels PCM. Problem is, it won't work on Sprenson squeeze. Why are there two different audio streams, what are they, and can I get rid of the first one..??

Aww, do you know, I tried so many different things that I ran out of options and bought premiere pro - which works like a charm and actually allows me to export directly to flvs anyway...
So sledgehammer to crack a sledge.

IOS 4.2.1 Bluetooth audio streaming problem

My iPod touch paired & connect to bluetooth headset. but, every time I play a music I can only hear it for 1 second. After that? total silent. I tried forget the device and re-paired the device. But the problem still persist.
Back when I used iOS 4.1, the music stream perfectly.
What to do? what to do?

Audio Streaming Problem?

I work in Austin but want to listen to a local Houston sports station using the CBS App "Your Day".
When I am connected to the internet with wireless, I get no audio out of my phone. However, once I turn of wireless, the audio works fine.
However, this means I'm streaming over the ATT network.
Is there no way to stream the audio wirelessly so I'm not getting charged for the data usage?

Have you tried it on a different wifi network? Some public wifi networks block streaming media to preserve bandwidth.

Weird audio streaming problem

I am dynamicly loading in an external mp3 to use for audio
for a flash animation. I've done this several times (its a series).
On this most recent flash movie however, the audio is being loaded
in externally but instead of playing normally, it is sped up to
about twice the speed. This is making the person sound like a
chipmunk.
I usually just copy the .fla from the last movie I worked
on, so all the code is the same. Any ideas on why it is doing this
to my audio? Its funny... but I don't think they want it that way.

The audio drops out at a new slide. I have done some
additional investigating and found that:
1. When I use the "Preview" function to review the project,
there is no problem. However,
2. When I use the "Publish" function, and publish the project
as a "Standalone" file with file type = Windows executable, and the
Zip files check box un-checked, the audio problem occurs.
3. When I publish it with the same settings, but I ALSO check
the Zip files checkbox, I don't have the audio problem.
So it almost seems like it is a bug in the Publish function.
I am using a free trial version, but I have ordered and expect to
receive a paid-for version today. I will install that software and
see if the problem is still present.

Streaming audio player problems.

I would be grateful if someone could help me with the following problems.
I have developed an audio streaming app that relies on OSMF framework in Android and StageVideo / Netstream classes in iOS (OSMF is HLS agnostic).
The Android app, works great except when the screen goes dark or when the app is pushed in the background.
When the screen goes dark, the app takes almost a minute to switch between streams. When testing in AIR simulator and when the device screen is not dark, the app moves to the next track quickly. Why? Is this related to the fact that the framerate slows to 4 per second when device screen is dark?
If the app is pushed to the background, the audio continues playing, but when the track is complete, the player does not continue to play the next track. If I bring the app to the foreground, it immediately starts playing the next track. Again, I don't understand why this is the case?
I tried setting the different rendering modes to direct, and cpu. When set to direct, the app stops playing as soon as the screen goes dark. In auto and cpu mode, it continues to play but it does exhibit the problems mentioned above. I did not try the GPU since Adobe is against doing so for Flex applications.
When testing in iOS, the app keeps the screen lit the whole time. This is by design from me because I have added
NativeApplication.nativeApplication.systemIdleMode = SystemIdleMode.KEEP_AWAKE;
to keep the phone screen from going dark. If I allow the screen to go dark, the app stops playing. The audio stops playing if I push the app to the background as well. Of course, keeping the screen lit is not ideal because it unnecessarily drains the battery and is distracting when driving at night. I have seen other apps for example that keep playing audio when the screen dark, so I know that it is possible. Any suggestions on how to keep the audio playing when the screen goes dark or when the app is pushed to the background would be greatly appreciated.

Just to be clear, using the same sound file Ableton Live will crash but other media players play it back fine? If that's the case, I would contact Ableton support.

Problem with xvid videos with two audio streams

recently I purchased a Creative Zen X-FI2, it is working perfectly, but I only have one problem, I have some videos xvid with two audio streams (mpga), on VLC I can select either of the two audio streams but I haven't found if I can select the audio stream on the Zen player.
Does anyone knows how to select among different audio streams on a video?

The X-Fi2 doesn't have such an option.
If you still want to be able to watch the video with the second audio stream, I think the only possibility is to re-encode it using the second audiostream (or disable the first).

Problem Recording Audio Stream: audacity, HDA Intel ALC882, Stereo Mix

I am trying to record an audio stream using Audacity, but I am having problems. From the mixer toolbar dropdown, I have various options for mic, line, cd, but there is no option for 'stereo mix.' I have looked at alsamixer, and none of the capture channels are muted. I would be grateful if someone could point me in the correct direction.

Audio - streaming I have a problem and don't know where to ask the question

I have a MacBook pro, I also have a presonus 16.4.2 FireWire mixing consule. My band is going to play a online show that will stream through ustream.tv . When I am connected to the mixer via FireWire the board is recieving audio and on ustreams web ap it shows a place where I can select the presonus for audio but when I select it it does not show any audio input. Does anyone know how to make it work so I can use the sound coming from the mixer as the sound being broadcast for the stream? I've never tried using the 8th inch audio input on the Mac but do you think taking two mono quarter inches from the main of the mixer into a stereo 8th inch would work? Any help is appreciated, the show is this Thursday and I'd like to make it sound as good as possible and avoid having to use the internal microphone. Or if any of you know a better forum to ask this question please direct me.

This will work to get the audio into the console, go to system preferences and set input to line and use the slider for level control.
If you go to the Apple site, support and search "streaming audio" there is a number of articles that might help.

RAM streamed audio - capturing problem

I have come from the PC camp where I can fire up Realplayer and sound recorder and record the audio stream (for later listening).
Now on the MAC I find I am unable to achieve this. I tried AudioHijack and it required SoundFlower. This seemed to work but screwed up other audio settings which I didn't want screwed up. I ended up uninstalling Soundflower.
Does anyone know how I can achieve this? I tried Audacity but it seems to only support 'line in'. I tried various other internet-radio apps but they didn't seem very happy about connecting to the sources I want (BBC) let alone allowing me to save/record the stream. I tried VLC but it didn't want to play all the stream and I couldn't see a way of saving it anyway.
I'm running Leopard and all I get in the Audio configuration under INPUT is 'Internal Microphone' and 'Line in'.
Is there no application out there that could perform this simple task?

You should uninstall Soundflower then. I don't think you need it. According to the Soundflower description:
*What It Is*
Soundflower is used to allow all system audio to be hijacked. With Soundflower installed, all System Audio can be hijacked at once and used, instead of grabbing audio from just one application at a time.
You said you are trying to record from the BBC. That means you are trying to record one application's output, not from everything that's running. Therefore, it sounds like you don't need to have Soundflower installed at all.
All you need is the default Audio Hijack behavior, which is to record a single application's audio stream.
I've been using Audio Hijack for years, and to avoid conflicts, I still have not installed the Extras (Instant Hijack, Soundflower, and Schedule Helper). So choose Audio Hijack Pro > Install Extras, click the Soundflower tab, and click Uninstall and see if you can then do what you want to do without trouble.

I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:

In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

Error encountered while copying audio stream

In Captivate 4, I attempt to capture screens. I hear the clicking as it captures, I click END when finished. Program attempts to save and then a dialog box displays with "error encountered while copying audio stream". I am not attempting to record any audio.
I searched the web and found references to this error back two versions and two years - but no solution.
Does anyone know of a solution? Thanks.

I have experienced this on Windows XP. In my case this was due to a dll (Dynamic Link Library) file not being corectly registered in the Windows XP Registry. If you are using XP then take a look at the following blog post.

IPhone 4S and iPhone 5 Running iOS 6.0.1 and A2DP audio streaming on a 2012 Lexus RX350 (Factory Car Stereo)

Before the release of iOS6 and the iPhone 5, I was able to use the A2DP audio streaming on my car no problems and I was really a happy camper, when upgraded my iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5 (Which came already with iOS6) that funtionality did not work any more, I reconnected my iPhone 4s running iOS 5.1.1 and worked like a charm, then I thought my brand new iPhone has bluetooth problem , that same night (Release data iPhone 5 and iOS 6), I update my iPhone 4S and prepare it to give it to my wife, then It occured to me to go and test the phone back on the car but now Running iOS 6 and "viola", the phone did not stream audio via A2DP. So yesterday Apple Release a minor update for iOS (6.0.1) and after reading the release notes (which it did not say anything Bluetooth enhancements) and updating my iPhone, went and try to test again the phone and did not work. (No A2DP audio streaming), Definatelly there is a problem, I called iOS Tech support and open a Case. Here are the screenshots for the iphone and car stereo.

This happens when trying to Connect the phone manually.

I had this problem with my iPhone 4 after upgrading to ios 6.0 (10A403). I called apple support and was given a fix for my problem. The Apple support rep had me do a reset on my Iphone. The iPhone then worked with streaming music through bluetooth to my Lexus and also now works with the usb tether. I did not have to delete the pairing, but that certainly wont hurt.

How do I correct this?

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

Audio Output problem when connected to car port

Just switched to an iPhone 4 from the 3G model. When I play any audio (music or Pandora)while connected to my car port, I get bits of noise at timed intervals coming throught the speakers. I would say it is about every 2-3 seconds I get this little added noise sample added to the audio stream. My old phone and ipod classic work great so I know it is not the car deck. The headphone mini connector produces clean audio.
Anyone else have this?
This in addition to the other problems that seem to be inherent in this new device has me thinking about returning the phone tonight.

Well it turns out a hard reset of the phone did fix the audio. My car stereo installer told me to do that and it worked!
