Unusual error on eMac?

Morning everyone, I've just joined this forum and have found a lot of the comments useful and wondered if anyone can help me with an error message I get when trying to burn CD's on my eMac.
The burning process seems to get almost to the end and then the CD is ejected with the following message:
"Burn Failed. The burn to the HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-48818 drive failed. The device drained its buffer without burn underrun protection."
Has anyone come across this message before and can anyone help with a remedy?
I have recently reset the eMac using the software install and restore disks hoping that it would overcome the problem, but to no avail. I would greatly appreciate any further advice or suggestions.

What model eMac do you have? What OS version? How much RAM/ (Details like these can be added automatically to the bottom of your posts using the My Settings link in the box under your username on the right of the Discussions pages.)
How much free space is there on your hard drive? To burn CD-Rs, you need at least as much free space as the disk beng burned, to allow the OS to create it's temprary image file. Allow disk space for swap files and the like, and you need at least 1 GB free space to burn CD-Rs. (5 GB for DVD burning)
Are you using the Mac's built-in burner software or a third-party application such as Toast? Buffer underrun protection should be automatic in either case.
Bad CD-R media can affect the burn process, as can a dusty or grimey CD lens. Try a Cd-R from a different manufacturer or even a different bundle of discs (since there's a fair amount of variation from one manufacturing batch to another). It's also a good idea to occasionally run a CD lens cleaner through the drive.
After checking that there's sufficient free space on your hard drive, try a test burn where you drop the recording speed from Maximum to the next-lower value, dropping one step as needed until you find a burn speed that works.

Unusual error in Infopackage

Hello Experts,
I am getting an unusual error while executing the infopackage for CO-PA extraction. I ran the IP for init with data transfer using controlling area and fiscal period as the selection criteria but the Infopackage returned a error "System could not find a source of data that could perform the search". However, when I run RSA3 for the same selection criteria, it does returns extracted records.
I am quite confused by this and will appreciate any help in this regards.

Unusual error.....!!!

hello friends,
i m working on making a music application... now the problem that i m facing is quite unusual n i m not understanding why is it arising....?? okay, let me give a brief intro to what i m trying to achieve...
my application includes a textfield where user has to enter the name of the path where music files r located... after pressing the enter key, all the music files located in that directory wud be shown in a TextPane... now user can select the file he wants to play by moving the caret... by using the caret position i m changing the style of that particular filename...
the problem arises here... if i give the default path in my code then on moving the caret in TextPane it doesn't give any error but when i enter the path name at run time n then move the caret for selecting the desired file it gives error... the exception i get is of StringOutOfBoundsException n it gives something like String index out of range: -2... i m not getting why this error is coming when i enter the pathname n why its not coming when default pathname is given in the code.....
plz help me.... my application is just going to get over... but i dont know why this thing is happening....

UNUSUAL error messge w/ manually synced iPod

I have an unusual problem that I have never encountered before when playing my music through iTunes off my manually synced 80G iPod.
an error comes up every time i change the song and it says "The iPod 'K-Bills' i-Pod' cannot be synced. There are too many files open currently."
it pops up EVERY TIME a song changes automatically or when i change the song....and it won't stop...its annoying and i was wondering if anyone has any solutions or possible ways of fixing this?

Ankit,
Set a breakpoint very early in the program's soruce code. When you hit that breakpoint in the debugger, go to the menu bar and choose Breakpoints > Breakpoint at > Statement . Enter the word MESSAGE into that pop-up window and continue the program's execution.
This will stop the debugger at all MESSAGE statements... Including the one that is generating your error. You can then analyze the code just prior to that error.... and address the issue accordingly.

Getting an unusual error message in Compressor 4.1 when I try to submit a job

I'm running Mavericks and have Compressor 4.1 on my Mac Pro along with FCP 10.1. When I submit a job to compressor, I then add the Dolby Digital and Mpeg-2 6.2 Mbps/90. When I hit Start Batch I get this error message

I've tried to uninstall and re-install Compressor but to no avail. What is this error message referring to and how do I rectify it?

Hi Drew if you haven't resolved this. TRy this to see if the issue is a TRANSIENT object access error instead for submitting directly to Compressor. Do this to isolate any content error defects before making you distribution (older 2 stage workflow)..
in FCPX 10.1, make sure the projects Primary Storyline is completely rendered - select all and cntl+R (render selection or control+shift+R)In FCPX 10.1 watch the background tasks (+9) and wait for all the rendering to be completed.... (make sure no object errors)
in FCPX 10.1 export a master File/Share/Master File (+E) as PRORES 4xx and save it ~/Movies/Drews_final_master.mov (prores)
in Compressor.app V4.1,
create a new BATCH ,
import the MASTER object ~/Movies/Drews_final_master.mov)
(and add your setting and submit it. (dont use FCPX SEND TO COMPRESSOR just yet! until you resolve this issue)
This process will avoid the use of transient file storage areas that seem to be used in the FCPX to COMPRESSOR.

This error occurs when you are using MathLib with JNI and calling those from Java. If you call them in a tightly coupled loop, then try to move them in or put some delays (Thread.sleep) and see if it works.
There is a bug logged on this.

I am getting an error that I have never encountered before during an import. It is ORA-01403: no data found.

I can not tell you precisely why you are getting the error as you thought posting the control file commands unimportant but I can provide two general observations.
1. There is no excuse for being in version 10.2.0.1 so many years, and patches, after its release. You should be in 10.2.0.3 or 10.2.0.4 at the minimum.
2. You should import this as SYSTEM. If you can not then ask a DBA to do so for you.

Unusual Error in G/L account creation because of "Post Automatically only"

Hi,
While creating G/L account, I am facing typical Error. Please find below sequence of activities I did.
1) Given G/L account number and company code on first pop Up
2) Went to Create/Bank/Interest Tab and gave Field status group
3) Came to Type/Description tab and given account group
4) Came back to Create/Bank/Interest tab.
5) Now I am not able to change tab. If i click on any tab, it gives message "Fill in all required entry fields" and this is coming because I didn't check marked the "Post Automatically only" tab.
If I check mark the "Post Automatically only" tab, i am able to move across tab and error message doesn't comes.
As per my requirement, I do not wish to check mark the "Post Automatically only" tab.
Why Error is coming? What should i do?

Hi,
The field status of G/L accounts are controlled at two places,
1) At account group level, (check for the particular account group whether this field has been made mandatory or not)
2) At the transaction level, (here transaction does not mean the regular FI document transactions... but the create G/l, Change G/l, Display G/l through FS00 each activity is called as a transaction with regard to the master data maintenance here also when you create the G/L accounts the field status need to be checked if it is made mandatory or not.
The field status of any field in the G/l master would be the compound setting of both the above areas.. and the ranking order logic would be SDRO - Suppress, Display, Required and Optional.
If in either of the places 1) or 2) if the field status is made Suppress in one and Optional in the other then Suppress prevails... similarly other combinations too work.
Please check and revert.

Final Cut Pro 7 crashed and will not open (only gives unusual error)

Final Cut Pro 7 (from Final Cut Studio 2 installation) crashed sometime yesterday at 8 and any time it was opened it oulde give an error saying that this version of Final Cut wasn't supported by G4 and needed to be upgraded to G5. This is far from true though since it's been working properly and without trouble for about 2 months.
Also, and I'm not sure if it's related or not, but installer.app stopped working after this happened. Of course, I want to know what could have caused this to happen. Could it have been from switching any settings or working with certain HD footage?
It's a MacBook with Snow Leapord if that helps.

Given the ONLY information we get in solving issues is what people write, accurate terminology is critical to solving the problem. If people need someone to read their mind, then they should to take their problem into a repair facility where the tech people can directly deal with the machine.

The drive being referenced in this error, ( /Volumes/Nexus-Heaven1/Mailboxes/Splurben.mbox ) has never been a primary Mail store, my Mail store has always been in its default user folder, I wouldn't even know where to begin to tell Mail to move the primary mail store. I had a Time Machine backup drive called "Nexus-Heaven" which died over a year ago. It was always strictly a Time Machine backup drive. It may be that at some point I restored mail from this Time Machine backup.
Does anyone know why this would happen or how I would 'satisfy' Apple Mail to get rid of these errors and the constant attempted synchronisations that never finish?

Unusual error during installation of Acrobat X Std

Hi all,
Hope someone can help here. I'm trying to install Acrobat X Standard on a 64bit Win7 Pro machine, and I'm getting the following error every time:
I get the Please wait while... message, then immediately the strange error message. I've blanked out the last four numbers, in case they're unique to our installation.

Replication Link Analyzer Unusual Error

Just finished upgrading my Heirarchy to SCCM 2012 R2, everything is fine after migration and the environment has been stable for several weeks.
One site however, is showing warnings for Replication. The replication isn't failing, its been up to date at the site, but 3-4 hours behind on its most recent synchronization. This time delay seems to be within tolerance, and hasnt caused any problems.
In troubleshooting that issue, RLA returns the following message. I dont understand and can't find any reference to the tested Local System account its referring to in the logs; and of the servers involved in this Replication, both have sysadmin access on
the Database.
"Replication link analyzer detected Database PS1 does not have a valid security scope for Local system Account. Please make sure Login for local System account exists and it has sysadmin role assigned".

What's the error in rcmctrl.log, replmgr.log? Have you enable verbose?
