Unwanted add on in adobe download?

I recently installed flash player and reader programs and also got an unwanted add on (Savingsbull) and am having difficulty removing it completely. I removed the two programs yesterday and went to reinstall them (with better oversight of the process) and your system confused me. (I am slowed by a neurological disorder.) Needless to say, I am not well versed in computerspeak. Please advise.

Adobe ans "Savingsbull" are not related in any way, and not partnered in any way.
Whatever you downloaded, didn't come from here, and it was probably not Flash Player.
I recommend using TDSSKiller from Kaspersky to remove the offending "Savingsbull" if it remains on your system.
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
There's no "added software" with those downloads.

  • Adobe update includes unwanted add on

If you use Firefox "find updates" for plug-ins and use the download now button on the resulting Mozilla updates screen, you automatically get an included downloaded of some other crap that Adobe is tryingto get you to install.
It is a pain in the ass when you go to the adobe download site but you can unclick the selection there.
Mozilla needs to require that that update link does not automatically include unwanted crap.

  • Adobe Download Assistant Will Not Recognize My Adobe ID

I've been an Adobe customer / forum user since before ID's were tied to email addresses.  My product registrations going back to 1996 through CS 5.5 apps are recorded under that ID.  Since I have to change my email address every couple years to escape spammers, I do not want to change my Adobe ID (and go through the hassle of re-recording the record of registered apps) to a "fluid" ID like an email address.
Automatic registration and now Adobe Download Assistant will not accept an Adobe ID that is not an email address, yet I can still use it to 'manually' register new / upgrade product purchases.  The problems this poses are two-fold:
Since I can only manually register new / upgrade products, I cannot obtain any "registration bonus" downloads.
I cannot download trial versions of apps I want to check out.
Adobe needs to get its act together and tell its gen-X / Millenials / Kid Web and software development staff that not all Adobe IDs are email addresses, but might also be a unique user ID string.
Further, due to an individual's email address volatitility (virtually everyone in my email address book had their email address change every 2- 3 years due to ISP demise, merger, personal relocation, job change etc.), Adobe should return to - or at least give precedence to - the model of UID / PW authentication instead of email address / PW authentication.  This would lower Adobe maintenance effort / cost for user accounts as one could simply sign in with UID + PW and change email address for the account as necessary.  As it is now, Adobe CANNOT deal with a user whose email address changes.
When Adobe changed from UID precedence to email precedence, I could not register Acrobat Pro (2007) during registration so I used my email address at that time to register the product.  When that email address ceased to exist, I tried to get Adobe to transfer that registration to my old [non-email address] Adobe ID, and, over several months of email exchanges, they ended up admitting they could not do it.  I could not make the change as the SN was already marked as used in there system so simply re-registering it to my existing account wouldn't work either.
This has been an ongoing issue with "legacy" users since 2006 at least, and NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED ASAP!!!!

There you go MISSING THE POINT AGAIN!! My Registered products WILL NOT FOLLOW MY UID IF I CHANGE IT, NEVER DID SINCE 2007.  Saying the will is false information which I alerted Adobe to back in 2007 and is a problem y'all never fixed.
Just a little over a week ago, I got I got LightRoom 4 ug from a LR 3 I had purchased in March.  Signing on with my legacy UID (non-email) allowed me ADD those registrations to my account, as I had cor CS 5.5, 4, 3, etc. etc.  Now, isn't it odd that the very day after I posted here, when I sign in to my account it shows NO REGISTERED PRODUCTS!!!  If I look at my order history, it has orders from Adobe store from last weeks CS6 MC purchase back to 2007 when I started buying from Adobe directly after the local brick and mortar resellers disappeared.
So I try to register CS6 MC, it tells me the SN is already in use.  I try open a PDF document and it tells me I have to first register and agree to the Acrobat Pro X license before I open a doc - and it was an UPGRADE FROM CS 5.5 MC.  I try to run CS 5.5 apps and they tell me I have to purchase a license since the trial period is over - HUH!  Until I posted here it was working FINE.  I go back to my acccount (non-email UID sign in) and check my profile - Lo and behold SOMEONE (not me) has changed the UID to an email address instead of the non-email UID I sign in with AND DELETED ALL MY PRODUCT REGISTRATIONS!
Naturally, your software does not let me put it back to the same UID I use to sign on with so THE LINK TO ALL MY REGISTERED PRODUCTS IS GONE, I CANNOT REGISTER NEW ONES (which was no problem just a day or two before posting here) WHICH PROVES WHAT I WAS TOLD IN 2007 - WHEN YOU CHANGE UID'S YOUR LEGACY REGISTRATIONS WILL BE LOST!!!
So, in summary you (Adobe at least, and I suspect you personally) went in and messed with my legacy account, deleting all my registrations, as I was told in 2007 would happen and advised to keep the old UID if I did not want to blow away those registrations, when I explicity did NOT want to make such changes.  And, should I need an SN for some upgrade offer or to install an update for an older product that I did not transition to the new facility, I have to HOPE that I had I can find the original purchase invoice and that there is a copy of the SN / Reg card attached to it.
    THANKS A PANT LOAD!!

  • Creative Cloud App breaks Adobe Download Manager, doesn't install apps, now I'm unable open apps

This has been the worst cloud app experience I've ever seen.
First of all the CC app overwrites the Adobe Download Manager to the point where you'll never be able to go back to it again.
I would normally be OK with this, but the CC app doesn't work and closes itself instantly, rendering it completely useless and unable to install any of the CC apps.
After an hour and 20 minutes between being on hold, and speaking with support, I have no solution.
I'm now at a point where I have no apps installed, and I can't install any new apps because the CC app doesn't work, and the Download Manager will either a) error if CC app isn't installed, or b) open the CC app if it is installed (which doesn't work, and instantly closes).
    Overall, it's a disaster

    Hey Jason,
I'm wonder if it might help to start fresh,
    Uninstall any Creative Cloud programs
Control Panel > Programs & Features (Windows 7)
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (XP)
Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers (Mac OS X)
Run the cleaner tool to ensure everything is removed
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
Reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app from https://creative.adobe.com/products
    Reinstall applications
It will be a lot of work but it will probably fix it.

  • Adobe Download Manager won't uninstall - causing blue screen crash

Brand new PC, Windows 7, worked fine for couple of days until I installed Flash Player 10 Active X - now the operating system continually crashes around after 5 mins each time I reboot.
    Error message
    "problem starting C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\NOS\bin\getPlus_Helper.dll
the specified module could not be found"
Having search the web, which suggested a possible problem with Flash Player 10 installation, I removed this downloaded this file: uninstall_flash_player.exe  and ran to uninsall), but Adobe Download Manager is still in the list - trying to uninstall the DLM just gives the same error message as above.
Does anyone have a solution to a) remove the DLM and b) successfully install Flash without breaking the system!

I just installed this last night and I also had this problem and still do
.  I went into windows 7 uninstall and it will not let me uninstall adobe 9 and the manager at all.  it tells me i n
eed system permissions (which I tried to do and either i did it wrong (could be) ) and it still tells me
I can uninstall it.  Due to system or administrator etc.
after 1 hour searching on how to set permissions and this is also a new pc i thought better and stopped.
Also when I go to the uninstall _control panel it gets kinked up on the removing adobe 9 so that i have to go into task manager and stop it.
I have gone into the adobe folder and manaully removed (tried) what i could delete but I still have the 9 and the manager there.
I would love to use this never had a problem before and would just like the add the flash player and reader but not the gertPlus thing /manager that started it all.
    PLEASE HELP!

  • Adobe Download Assistant - Won't initiate download?

Okay, I've got the download assistant. I'm logged in on both the Adobe Website and the Adobe Download Assistant. I am running Windows 7 64bit. My internet connection is stable and everything is freshly updated.
If I attempt to initiate the download from ADA It asks me where I'd like to install it to, and then proceeds to not do anything. I don't get an install bar. I don't get any indication that it is doing anything beyond simply existing. If I attempt to try again I get the following message-
"There is already a product waiting to be added (Error 106). Please wait for the current operation to complete. If you believe you have recieved this message in error, you can restart Adobe Download Assistant and try to add the product again."
If I attempt to initiate the download from the Adobe Website I get one of two things:
If I'm not logged in on the Adobe Website, ADA asks me to log in and then I get the exact same thing as above including having to pick the product from the list as if I hadn't clicked the link on the website at all.
If I am logged in to the Adobe Website, ADA still asks me to log in. On the bottom of the application I'm offered 'Adobe Photoshop CS5.1' and an installation bar with "Sign in with your Adobe ID to continue" written underneith. When I log in it acknowledges me at the top of the application (("Welcome, [My Name]")) but nothing changes in the lower portion of the application and it still asks me to sign in to continue.
    Any suggestions?

  • Adobe Download Assistant sees Mozilla Firefox as IE

Adobe Download Assistant fails to complete on Adobe Xi Pro Trial Version, citing probs with my version of Internet Explorer browser. In fact my browser is Mozilla Firefox. Any suggestions?

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-xi-pro-standard-reader-direct-download-links.html
if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.

Actually I am wondering what you are doing at all?  I've never seen questions like if you "initiated the download"...
Anyway, from your mentioning Add/Remove Programs I see that you are on Windows.  Download these files
    FP uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157 (save to disk);
    FP installer for Internet Explorer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);
    FP installer for all other browsers http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe (save to disk);
Now close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the relevant installer(s).

    Dear Sara,
I notice that you didn't reply to my questioning the this ambiguous stipulation of your services being extended to Adobe's rights in the use of my personal content or intellectual and creative property.
When I returned to my "files" section in Adobe Reader where they were transferred to in converting them to PDF they had all been removed. Around 6 projects in progress plus notes and several creative design images in one instance (attached to a writing project). I have access to the files and I am downloading Cloud desktop interface.
Does the interface of Reader in desktop automatically remove them from my online account, making them exclusively offline from here on OR must they be physically removed and so have they been removed by another party?
Finally, since they are made copyright in the conversion, must future files be made uploaded to signify and account for them as made copyright by the process record in my personal account?
Excuse my asking lots of questions. My work has been tampered with in the past and I am excited about this service I can avail of in protecting all of my work.
Yours Sincerely,Liam Anthony Dalton BA, FA

  • Adobe Download Assistant, Photoshop Elements 11

Altho' I've tried many times over the past few days, I've been unable to download Photoshop Elements 11 using the Adobe Download Assistant.
I received an email from Adobe inviting me to download Elements 11, with a key to convert the trial version to a full version, which is an upgrade for me.  I think this is because I wa never able to download a workable Elements 10.  It constantly crashed, and sometimes brought my computer down with it.
I'd love to do download a working version of Elements 10, and have spent many hours trying, but nothing ever results from the Adobe Download Assistant.
Now it's telling me (in tiny grey letters on a black background) "The download product installation appears to be corrupted.  (Error 108)  Use the 'reset product download button' to try to download it again."  Unfortunately, there is no reset product download button to use.  I have clicked on a down arrow which produced a selection of whether to restart the download or continue trying with the download already started.  I've chosen to restart the download.  Unfortunately, nothing has changed on the window, and it is still telling me about the corrupted download.
I have no idea what the next step is or where to go to determine whether this whole thing is a hoax or whether it will download Elements 11.  If it does, will Elements 11 work?
    Can anybody out there help?

Key please see solution 3 in Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-download-assistant.html#main_Solutio n_3 for information on how to reset the Adobe Download Assistant.
