Unwanted Email Trails

I am seeing unwanted email trails being attached onto outgoing mails with (as example) the word 'Membership' in the subject line. Then all other emails with the same word in the subject title are being attached to the outgoing mail. Any advice?

The only way to stop incoming messages that were received and are available at the incoming mail server for an email account from being downloaded by the Mail.app or by any email client is at the incoming mail server level and I'm not aware of any 3rd party software that performs such a function at the incoming mail server for an email account.
My ISP includes a method for forwarding spam received with long headers shown for the received message to a spamblock email address provided by my ISP. The long headers for a received messages reveals the sender's IP address. After my ISP determines the message is spam (usually takes less than 24 hours), my ISP blocks the sender's IP address from being able to deliver spam or any email to any email address in my ISP's domain.

How do I delete Unwanted Email addresses?
Auto-fill in saves them all !
When I start a new email, every email address I've
ever written to pops up (To:) This greatly increases my
chances of sending a new email to the wrong person.
.....there's got to be a way to delete just the addresses
    I don't want !....but where & how ?

I am also looking for a way purge the email addy autofill of old contacts that no longer exist. Many a family and friends have since changed their E-mail addy's, I have deleted their old addy's from contacts, yet the iPhone autofill still manages to hang on to those in some stored cache that is NOT accessible to purge or delete! This is something I've struggled with regarding the iPhone since my first iPhone months after it originally released years ago, have since owned a few other iPhones as they progressed, currently an iPhone 4, on os 4.01, same issue persists. Have restored my phones, started from new during some restores, etc, those old defunct E-mail addy's still autofill!
I sync with my iMac yet do not even have my mail client set up on the iMac, never have since we bought the iMAc, web based E-mail only, so this issue has nothing to do with mail client on the computer it syncs to.
It would be nice if someone from Apple would reply with acknowledgment that they are indeed aware of this and hopefully it is on their to-do list.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • How do I mark unwanted emails as spam

how do I block unwanted emails     Better yet!!!!  how can I mark unwanted emails as spam?
    Kathleen

    Who is the email carrier?
Gmail app has an option to mark each email as Spam.
In the desktop Yahoo, AOL, etc, there are Spam controls you can use, and emails go to the Spam folder on the phone.
If the mail app you are using doesn't have an option to mark as Spam, then go to your computer and see if you can set up Spam controls for the email there.  When the app syncs it should filter the spam according to the rules you've set up on your computer.

  • TS3276 How do I block an unwanted email sender?

Other than bouncing back to sender, or changing my email address, putting them in junk mail or a file, how do I block my abusive ex from sending me unwanted emails?

FWIW, If there were a simpler way, I would have posted it, and I am not intentionally withholding information here, nor are other folks.
As mentioned upthread, you can use server-side mail rules to delete (and generally not block, nor bounce) incoming mail messages, though whether you or your mail  provider can access the mail server varies by provider, and by mail server.     Some providers have this capability.  Some do not.  Some provide web access into SpamAssassin or other server-side rules.  Others do not.
Check with your mail ISP for details here.
I do use server-side rules to blacklist specific users and specific domains.  This is possible with OS X Server hosting your mail, and with hosting providers that offer SpamAssassin or similar access.
Locally within a client, you can use mail rules within Mail.app or similar mechanisms available within other mail clients to delete messages from specific senders.   Not all mail clients have this capability.  If your mail client lacks rules — such as the iOS mail client — then you can potentially have a computer system — a desktop that can remain powered on at all times — then that system can generally be configured to recieve and delete these mail messages on behalf of the script-less clients.
Alternatively, use the junk button a few times, and train the junk filter to find and nuke the messages.
If you want to see Mail.app  provide a one-click nuke button, then please send the suggestion to Apple.   There's a suggestion submission item within the Mavericks Mail.app menus, and probably earlier.   The  folks might or might not see what's posted here.

  • How do i delete unwanted email addresses on iphone 3gs

Hi all, just joined, Can anyone help please to remove unwanted email addresses, I have tried free download of ibackupbot, it finds contacts but not email addresses, and I do not wish to buy it when apple should have this built in to the iphone.
    Regards
    Brian.

If you are referring to the autofill feature when addressing an email, the iOS Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients. The email address autofill feature when addressing an email pulls from your Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with the iOS Mail app to add a previous recipient to Contacts that is not already entered, or to remove a previous recipient from the list - not at the present time anyway.

  • How do i block unwanted emails or contacts

how do i block unwanted emails or contacts

    Hi :)
I have the same problem. All of the sudden I receive tons of unsolicited ***** invitations. You can do two things:
    Forward emails to: [email protected]
Put them in the Junk folder. Apple is supposed to check that and do something about it.
I downloaded a little app called SpamDrain. They give you few weeks of free service but after that they will charge you for removing your unwanted stuff.
Anyway this problem started about three weeks ago and I receive about ten unwanted ***** mails every day. It's a real pain. Hopefully between apple and the little app I will get rid of it.

  • After I right-clicked on an unwanted email in Microsoft Web Access and put a filter on it all my emails and the menus disappeared. I can re-access in IE but how do I restore what I have foolishly done in Firefox?

I was working through my emails in Microsoft Web Access when I came across an email from a sender who keeps spamming me. I right-clicked on this unwanted email, saw a filter option and (recklessly) chose it. ALL my emails and the menus disappeared. I can re-access my emails in MWA in IE but how do I restore what I have foolishly messed up in Firefox? When I get to my email page in MWA in Firefox I now see nothing but the movable vertical bar.

You should really read the manual.
"How do you restore from backup? "
Restore.  When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them.  What program did you use to import them?  Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all.  You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

  • How to block unwanted emails in yahoo on my ipad without access to a computer?

I am deployed and I have only my iPad. I would like to block unwanted emails in my yahoo account. How do I do this?

Once they are marked as junk, any future emails from them will be sent to the junk or spam folder, thus I will still be receiving emails from them, they a just routed to a different location in my email. If this is correct, I would like to completely block the email address and prevent them from sending me emails versus routing them to my junk box. I appreciate your time with helping me on this matter.

  • Using iOS 8 how do I block an unwanted email source

That's not something you can do from the built in Mail program. Check with your email provider to see if they have spam filters that you can access through their web interface.

  • IPhone sent an unwanted email to all my contacts

I have iPhone 4S with IOS 7.0.6. There were 11 emails sent in about 2 minutes according to the timestamps in the sent folder on the iPhone.
When I went to the 'sent' folder on the iPhone it showed each message sent, but that would be the case if the email had synchronized before I got to it.
What is very interesting is this:  The contact list known by the AOL email on their web interface has one more entry than the iPhone contact list. That additional entry was not sent one of the unwanted emails, according to the sent folder on the iPhone and according to the sent folder on the AOL email web interface. That suggests the hacking was on the iPhone, not on the AOL email account.
So this _does_ appear to be a case of where the iPhone contact list was used.
Each email said something like 'hello' and included a URL. Each email had a different URL.  Here are some examples.

I changed the numbers in the above URL lines from their actual values because I don't want to help the bad guys find me, but each was 6 digits long at the end of the line.
Yes, I have changed the AOL email password now on both the AOL website and on the iPhone.
I thought something like this happened to Facebook users a while ago, and it ended up being some virus or worm or something.
It sure seems like the iPhone was hacked from what I can see. No, this iPhone is not jailbroken.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Any solutions?

I don't have an iPhone, I have a Note 3 with a security program on it.
I got a similar message in my email this morning.   It had the name of one of my Facebook contacts.   When I highlight the name, it shows a different email completely.   It looked like it was sent from a known contact, I don't know how that is faked, but it is.
The email warned my my Comcast email had been hacked and I should send this warning email to all the listed contacts.   It actually had many of my contact emails in the email.
Here's the weird part - and how
I know it was fake.    I never set up an email with Comcast.   Only used Comcast for 2 months and no longer have the account.
So I marked the email as SPAM and deleted it.
Please SPAM this on your device also
