Unwanted Eorror Message

Whenever I first boot the computer I get an error message that I cannot get rid of: NONE OF YOUR TRUSTED WIRELESS NETWORKS CAN BE FOUND. DO YOU WANT TO CONNECT TO APPLE NETWORK f6A754?--- My connects are fine, but I constantly get this annyoying message. How do I get rid of it?

When you set up your wireless network, did you set up WEP, or password things? Set upfirewalls? You have security tuned on somewhere. Maybe start over in Network Preference pane, or in Internet connect.

  • Is there a an app that will filter/block unwanted sms messages?

Hi i hope i have put this in the right section but this is my first post so be gentle if i haven't !
i recently had a nokia n97 (i know wash my mouth out with soap for saying it !) now the phone was cr*p very slow and the charger went up in smoke after 10 days so it went back and i got an i-phone which i should have done in the first place as it is 100% better!
the only thing that was good for the n97 was there was an app that would filter unwanted sms messages
basically you had a "black list " of phone no's or you set it to only accept from contacts list then the app just filtered the sms messages from anywhere else
i cant find anything even remotly similar for the iphone does anyone know of one?

Well in the US on AT&T you can. AT&T has a website (mymessages.wireless.att.com), here you get a limited ability to block SMS. This feature is not highly publicized for obvious reasons. Contact your carrier and see if they have a similar service, many do, they just to publicize such.

these steps can vary depending on what phone but its usually all very similer

  • How can I block persistent unwanted text messages from Games Co.

One day an uninvited text message arrived on my iPhone to click to win an iPad. Stupidly I clicked, won nothing, but now I get daily SMS messages and Safari website from a US games Co. Trying to sell games, wallpaper and other junk. Trying to unsubscribe the "home" website is a blank page and the contact phone number is permanently engaged. This is more than inconvenient it's stressful. How can I block this daily scam on my iPhone?

You're right. I mean, all they have to do is snap their fingers and wish the scam out of existence.
What makes you think Apple is responsible for chasing down scams on the Internet?

  • Unwanted iPhone message about Push Notifications

A new problem has appeared om my iPhone (4s with iOS 8.1.2):
Many apps suddenly display a message telling me to connect to Itunes if I want to use push-notifications.
It is really annoying! How do I get rid of it without disabling Notifications altogether?

Hi and thanks for your reply!
I tried just that. The Connection with Itunes looked like it usually does and I couldn´t see any problem beeing handled in any way.
Unfortunately the message keeps coming so I have had to disable push on a number of apps.
    Still confused..

  • Unwanted Network message

I'm on and off the web using wifi at various free locations. Only until recently have I been getting the 'Internet Connect'- "Could not open the communication device" box. Sometimes it appears several times. Is there any way to stop this box appearing completely? It never appeared before (maybe I messed with something), even when I was offline...I can't seem to adjust the settings to prevent it.
    Cheers.

How do I prevent phone numbers on my account from using Premium Messaging?
Account Owners and Account Managers can disable Premium Messaging in My Verizon.
Go to the Manage Service Blocks page in My Verizon.
A list of available Service Blocks will display.
Check the box next to Block Premium SMS.
Note: This needs to be done for each device on the account that you want to prevent from using Premium Messaging. This will prevent anyone from using those devices to subscribe to new Premium Messaging programs or from incurring premium charges.

If you're on AT&T, they have some information on this issue here.
You can also file a complaint with the FCC here, though any results from such complaints will arrive slowly at best.
Do not, under any circumstances, reply directly to any unsolicited text message. This will only serve to confirm to the spammer that they have a valid number and will just lead to more spam.

  • Unwanted fb messages

why am I getting fb messages sent to my lg cosmo? how do I stop them? I asked a rep. at a Verizon store & they said they never had seen this happen before.

Let's ensure these facebook messages cease! Typically this occurs if you're phone number is provided in Facebook setting. You may disable by heading to the "Mobile Settings" page within Facebook http://www.facebook.com/mobile/?settings once there Click off in the Facebook Text Messages field then save preferences at the bottom of page. You may also text Off to the number that sent you the message. You will then get a message stating "Facebook text are now off"
