Unwanted fax reports

I keep getting fax reports from a private number that I can't block. It prints out reports of no fax and using up all my paper

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
I am sorry this is happening to you.
Some Ideas:
Someone has your phone number and is taking advantage of the fact that you may have your printer fax switched to Auto-Answer.  Switch it off.   User Guide >> Page 49
You might be able to block the number if your printer model / country / location supports this AND you subscribe to a caller ID service.  Notice all the "if this and that" -- Fax blocking is not available for everyone and you may be out of luck with this:   User Guide >> Page 45
You might sign up for a Fax service -- one for which you must pay a fee -- and then you can block evil people from using your fax service to abuse you.
You might be able to get some sort of action from your local Consumer Rights Resource Center if you can get the phone number -- you are being stalked by fax, after all.  Maybe your phone company will give up the phone number to you.
You could also try switching off the Fax sounds (User Guide >> Page 52) and then remove the paper from the printer when you are not using it.
You could take drastic action and change your phone number.  Poof.   No more Fax stalker -- at least for the time being.

How do I stop my HP Officejet 6500A Plus from printing the fax report? I can't seem to find this setting anywhere and I'm tired of wasting ink & paper.
    Printer: HP Officejet 6500A Plus
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1

    HI,
Press setup and find the fax setup menu. In there there should be an option Fax Report. In there you are able to tell the report when or when not to print.

  • Need printed fax report

How do I get a report of faxes sent from the Officejet 6500A Plus-all printer functions are working fine, I just can't find where to get the print out.

    Hello!!
On the front panel of the printer, hit the Right arrow and then go to Setup it will look like a wrench, the first selection is Fax Setup, inside Fax Setup look for Fax Reports, then Fax Log, It may only print the telephone numbers that you sent the fax to.

    Hello @thelildago!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I can see that you would like to clear the fax log in your Photosmart PSC 2410 printer.  I should be able to provide steps on how to do that.  On the printer there is no actual option to clear the fax log.  You can however restore defaults in the printer and it should clear the fax log.  I was able to locate the instructions for that in the  PSC 2410 User Guide on Page 89.
    To restore defaults:
Thanks again for posting on the HP Forums!
Please post back and let me know if this worked for you!

  • Unwanted faxes, Print Apps, Auto Printing. Manager Tools, Motley Fool

Many HP printers are Web Enabled and can connect to the 'cloud' to receive content or ‘Print Apps’.  These Print Apps can be setup to be delivered on a Scheduled Delivery schedule.  Some customers are inadvertently signing up for this service and think that they are getting a fax or unwanted print app sent to their printer.
There are two ways that you may have signed up to receive this content.
    1.  You can go to www.hpeprintcenter.com and login by creating an account, identifying your printer, and then selecting one of many print apps that will then appear on your printer panel.  You can then select a desired ‘Scheduled Delivery' for this app that allows your printer to automatically print selected print apps on a set schedule.  i.e. you could receive a news page, crossword puzzle, or article every morning at 7:00 am.
    2.  Web enabled printers have a few print apps located on the front panel out of the box and a customer can also initiate a print app to be delivered on a set scheduled from the front panel.  When any of these print apps are selected the customer is asked on the printer screen if they would like to subscribe to the print app.
***Some customers are either inadvertently selecting these print apps and subscribing to them without knowing or the printer is located in an environment where multiple users have access to the front panel of the printer and one user is selecting the print app while others may not.  Users who are unaware of how this Scheduled Delivery’s was set up will sometimes think that they are receiving a fax.
Methods of stopping a Scheduled Delivery Print App
    1.     From the printers front panel go to the 'Apps' section and scroll through until you find the desired print app.  Select the print app and then choose 'Pause' subscription.  This will pause the subscription until a user selects it again and 'resumes' printing.  If the print app is not visible on your printer it may have been removed, please go to method 2.
    2.  Go to www.hpeprintcenter.com and login to your account, create an account if necessary.  Go to the 'Apps' section and select the desired print app.  Select 'setup' and then 'update settings', at the bottom of the settings page you will see in blue text 'Cancel Scheduled Delivery'.

Although I am an HP employee my posts and replies are my own.

It sounds like you are trying to make the change from the application on your computer.
Instead, make the change directly on your printer.
At the home screen on the printer, press the Apps Icon, then press the icon of the particular App you wish to cease printing, when you see Pause, then you need to press Pause to stop your subscription. You should then see Resume and OK. Don't press Resume as that will restart your subscription. Press OK, then your Home button (looks like a house, located around the outside of the control panel) to get out.
Once you have pressed Pause you have stopped your subscription. You might receive one more issue but you shouldn't receive any more after that.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A fax reports not printing

I am working with an Officejet Pro 8500A Premium. It works great except for when I need to print fax confirmation sheets or receiving faxes - then I get a message that the printer is out of paper. I do not have problems printing from the computer, a copy or scan. Only the fax function seems to throw the machine off, specifically to the issue of feeding paper from the tray. Anyone have anything they can recommend here?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post serial numbers and case details.
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, this post has instructions.

  • Send report through Fax

Can any body please tell me how to send a report through fax, when the fax modem is connected to the server or to any client

    Hi Yadala
In 9i Reports Services provides you with mechenism to attach a pluggable destination which in your case can be a fax. You can refer Reports java API for pluggable destination interface and attach your own code to do this task.
You can also refer FAX using Oracle9iAS Wireless plugin example at following url:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/pluginxchange/content.html
This uses Oracle9iAS Wireless to fax report output.
    Thanks

    chickie5,
You would want to go the set up menu on your printer.
Then go to the >Fax Setup Option
Next go down to  > Fax Reports
    It should look like this:
    Fax Reports
    Fax Confirmation
    On(Fax Send)
    On(Fax Receive)
    On(Send and Receive)
    Off
You should be able to turn off the option on fax send.

thank you and sorry for my english !!

If you want the printer to print a confirmation report, in most models, you can turn Fax Confirmation on for Send and Receive under the Basic Fax Settings on the front panel of the printer.  Are you saying you have done this yet the printer is still not printing them?  This is one of the very few Enterprise Officejet printers on the market and  I do not have access to it.  Post your question on the HP Enterprise Business Community to gain more exposure to other owners of this printer as well as the experts that work on them.
I will do my best to assist you though.  Do not forget that your printer is also very likely under warranty.  Click here to find an HP technical support center near you.

  • How to print fax call log on hp laserjet pro mfp m375

There should be a way to print fax call log on hp laserjet pro mfp m375.  Not sure whether to go in "tools", "fax", "settings" or what!  Can somebody please give me instructions ASAP.  Does anybody else find HP's tech support - if your warranty runs out - to be terribly POOR.  I've been trying to get an answer to this question for about an hour which I think HP should at least answer simple questions in hopes that the customer will want to continue buying HP products of which they will purchase warranty plans.  So my next question is > are we supposed to keep a tech support plan on a product for as long as it's in service - 5 years or longer???  The 1st question is VERY important to me if someone would please answer.  The 2nd comment/question is more directed to HP!!!  :-)  Thank you very much!
NEVERMIND!!!  I finally found the answer to my fax question and got it to print.  As for how long HP expects a customer to pay for warranty plans and why they don't answer SIMPLE questions without them, please answer if you are a representative of HP b/c I'm really disheartened with your service.  Thank you.
