Unwanted feather when command clicking on a clipping path...

I've been completely stumped by this... every time I command click on the clipping path and either try to duplicate the selected area or mask it, it puts a feather on it. I have checked that all of the feather options have been set to zero in the selection tool. Someone please help this is driving me nuts!!!!

Error when double clicking a timeline clip

Hello,
I'm editing a movie on the latest and legal version of Mac's Premiere Pro CC. I began working on various projects and some days ago I merged them into one. Now, when I double click a timeline clip to preview or modify the in/out point of it an issue closes the software.
Message: Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.
If I double click the same clip in the project window the preview works without problems.
Everything was working perfectly on the independent projects. I have done that thousand times by importing various projects into one and it have always worked well.
I'm working with Apple ProRes files.

First thing to try is clearing the preferences: with Premiere closed, go to Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/8.0 and rename the folder "Profile-<username>." Launch PPro and see if the crash still happens. It's kind of a generic troubleshooting step, but a good place to start.
Also, go to File>Project Settings>General and check the Renderer setting. If it's set to use GPU acceleration, set it to Software Only. [Given that your graphics card has only 1/4GB of RAM, GPU acceleration should not even be available as an option. But given some recent changes, it's worth double-checking.]

Safari won't provide a drop down menu when I click on paper clip in outlook email. Any help on this would be great.

The IT person at work says the browser isn't working or Safari isn't updated and I should try a different browser. My other Comcast email is fine. I can attach anything. Any help would be great.

You could try enabling the Develop menu and try using IE but no guarantees. Not surprising that (Microsoft) Outlook isn't compatible with Apples' Safari.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Prerferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the Safari menu bar top of your screen click Develop > User Agent
Try IE 7, 8, or 9.

I use hotmail,and I use to be able to attach files, now when i click the paper clip nothing

When trying to attach files to my e-mail I roll over the paper clip icon and attachment it doesn't high lite, I'm using Hotmail, it does the same thing for office docs and photos

You have or had an extension installed (NET_mmhpset) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.x to Firefox/3.0.x.
You can check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page.
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website.<br />
Filter: general.useragent<br />
If general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.<br />

Multiclip angle disappears when I click on the file

I've created a multiclip of two video angles and one sound source. When I click on the clip in the event browser, the angles show up properly in the angle viewer. But when I clip on the display at the top of the event browser, only one video angle shows up.
And when move the clip to the storyline for editing, it's also missing.
This is driving me crazy! I've already trashed the prefs. This has never happened before.
-- all clips play fine separately.
-- all clips sync properly
-- same video clip disappears each time.
Any thoughts?

Good question:
Here's a screen grab of that angle sitting in the timeline by its lonesome. It just doesn't like to be part of a multiclip and I can't figure out why.

Can I combine alpha transparency with a clipping path on the same image in InDesign?
When you invoke the Object > Clipping Path command in InDesign, it makes a path according to the basis you choose from the Type menu in the Clipping Path dialog. If the image already contained transparency via Photoshop layering, or an "alpha channel," that transparency, is of course, also preserved. So yes, you can have native transparency plus an InDesign-generated clipping path on the same image.

Exporting Images and Clipping Paths

I ran into a problem exporting images the was previously reported by Ruvan Fernando on Jan 25, 2006, but nobody had responded, so I'm trying again...
I'm using the SDK to open images and then save them back out with different colorspaces, resolution, etc. When I have an image that has a clipping path in it, when it's saved, the clipping path is missing.
I am copying all the source image attributes to the destination image attributes.
Any help would be appreciated.

I tried dragging it, and it gave the original version.
At Share there are; Print, Email, Desktop, HomePage, .Mac Slides, Order prints, Send to iDVD, Burn Disk, Export
I tried Desktop and it put the current image do my wallpaper.

Detecting clipping path in EPS file

Hi All,
I have problem with detecting clipping path settings in EPS.
It's easy to find all cliping paths in file, they are listed in clippingPath.photoshopPathNames
but when EPS is saved with clipping path selected, this path is always applied and clippingPath.clippingType is ClippingPathType.none
I can't find any property which can be usefull to detect.

Hallo Piotr,
Perhaps the following approach can help.
The script places the eps (inside the selected frame) twice in a new layer: the first time with property epsImportPreferences.epsFrames = false and then with true. Afterwards the dimensions were compared and the layer deleted.
Please note that it will only work if the paths are smaller than the image dimensions.

A little roundabout, i know, but i think you can not obtain the value in a direct way. But maybe someone else knows a better way.

I´m a beginner on using Adobe InDesign. If having the opportunity to cut the object from the background using Adobe Photoshop, it there any advantage on using Clipping Path with any saved Alpha Channel or path instead of bringing without its background??

Isn't it the case that using an alpha channel automatically will invoke ID's rasterizing engine? Using a clipping path smells like the ol' Illustrator clipping path, which will behave as an independent vector (!) object in ID, no matter what it contains -- raster images, vector, or text --, and with no chance of the dreaded rasterizing artefacts.
Just for future reference; it indeed depends mainly on the image when to use alpha or clipping path.

i am using office2007 with windows7 premium home edition. i have checked file associations., all DDE settings. i have even tried this in safe mode. the same thing happens. please note once i see the error. i can then go back to the file click on
it a second time and it WILL open. AND i can open any file if i open excel and and find the file from there. i uninstalled and re-installed office 2007 from scratch. And i checked the compatibility mode (all un-checked) still the problem persisits. this is

Have you try to un-select the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) setting?
Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Excel Options.
Click Advanced, and then click to clear the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)
check box in the General area.
Click OK.
If the problem cannot resolve, the Run as administrator may selected.
Go to Office default install location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12.
Right-click EXCEL.EXE > Properties >
Compatibility tab.
Under Privilege Level, uncheck Run this program as an administrator
check box.

After updating to Firefox 3.6.9, when I click on a link in Outlook email, I get a message which says "General failure. The URL was: .... An error occurred in sending the command to the applicatio." and the link will not open. How can I fix this?

I updated Firefox yesterday to 3.6.9. When I receive a URL link in an email within Outlook, I cannot open the link in Firefox. As I said in the question, when I click on the link, a Microsoft Office Outlook error message appears which states that a General failure has occurred in sending the command to the application (which is Firefox). I am using Office 2007 This did not occur prior to the upgrade of Firefox.

When clicking an audio clip on the timeline in Premiere Pro CC 2014, it duplicates it on a different track and makes it impossible to work.

I'm experiencing a disturbing issue as it actually prevents me to do the work in Premiere. I will put as much info as possible:
1) Project started on a different computer (the editor), PC with Premiere Pro CC,
2) Now opened on my Imac with Premiere Pro CC 2014,
3) I am not editing, simply trying to move audio clips on different tracks to export audio tracks only,
THE ISSUE:
1) Here is my timeline:
2) When I select an audio clip to highlight it, Premiere creates a duplicate on a different track:
Note that the clip highlighted in the previous screen cap is the duplicate and I didn't click it, Premiere highlights it as soon as it is duplicated.
3) When I click out of the timeline or scroll up or down on the timeline, the duplicates disappear. However, when I try to move the original clips, it doesn't do anything, they are stuck in place.
ANTICIPATED ANSWERS:
1) You work on 2 different computers with 2 different versions of Premiere Pro CC, what do you expect? --> The amazing thing about Adobe CC is that it shouldn't be an issue and now I have to deal with it in this way,
2) Try and save an updated version of your project from your computer. --> Already done that.

This sounds to me like it could be a graphics related problem are you on the latest driver. Something else you could try, start a new project and import the one from the PC into that rather than directly opening it in the MAC

Since the last update, I cannot attach a file to my email in MobileMe. It has always worked until the latest update. Now, nothing happens when you click on the paper clip icon and 'choose' the file to add.

I am using MobileMe on my Mac. Until the last update a few days ago, Firefox always allowed me to attach files to my emails. Now, when I click on the paper clip, and it takes to me find the file I want to attach, and I highlight the file I want to attach and click on 'open', nothing at all happens. the screen just goes back to my email. It always worked before, it does not now. It DOES work on Safari but I hate Safari, i want to use firefox.
