Unwanted feedback on logic 7  -  hidden track?

I'm working on a project and at 1:15 from when i play the song, an unwanted feedback starts and gets louder and louder. i've muted and soloed all the tracks, ive watched the mixer, ive moved the whole project up and back a couple of minutes. it doesn't matter where i start the song, at one minute and fifteen seconds into it a feedback starts and overcomes all other tracks. help!

it didn't show up in the environment mixer
This is impossible. If it's in your bounce file, then it's in your mixer. It's probably happening on one of the existing channels that has audio on, and you are just not recognising it.
Also check that you haven't got your Powerbook internal mic switched on and feeding into the Mac's audio (although this would not show up in your bounce file.)
And lastly, Logic 7 questions are best dealt with in the Logic 7 forum, not the Logic 8 one, so the advice given is applicable.

  • Logic Control Selecting Hidden Tracks/ Don't Want That!

i'm mixing and i have alot of hidden tracks. i only want logic control to select tracks that are on the arrange page. is this possible?
    thanks

Sorry but I've never come across a way of doing this (I use a different control surface but the software principles still apply). I don't believe Logic is flexible to report hidden tracks to the control surface interface and there's nothing about it in the Control Surfaces manual.
    Quel dommage...

  • Hidden Track at Beginning of CD

Not sure if iTunes can do this, but do you all know of another Mac program that might?
I have a couple CDs with hidden tracks at the beginning of the CD, meaning I have to start the CD on track 1 and rewind, essentially going into negative time. It only seems to work on my home stereo, and I couldn't adjust the time in iTunes to be negative, so I doubt it's possible. Any help with ripping these tracks onto my computer would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

It might be noted that a lot of us try to refrain from putting in volume curves until we're all done recording/arranging and are into the mixing process. That way you don't have to worry about duplication and moving them. In Logic, you have the option to move automation along with the region, but I am not sure if you copy a region that the automation can also be copied. I haven't got that far, yet. But even so, unless it really needs to be there for a cue or something, I'd refrain until the mixdown.

  • Import secret/hidden track

Hi guys, new here. I have the self-titled Blink 182 CD that has a hidden track between tracks 4 and 5. I'm trying to rip it, but it doesn't show up in iTunes. When I play it on my stereo, I can only listen to that track during the transition from track 4 to 5. While the hidden track is playing, the stereo counter display counts down to zero then starts counting up again when track 5 starts. Technically, I don't know whether it exists on its own or if is a part of either of the two tracks. I'd like to get the track any way I can, whether it's appended to the end of track 4, added to the beginning of track 5, or on its own. I would call an Apple Expert, but my iPhone is out of warranty, and I can't afford to pay $29 for one phone conversation that might end in someone telling me it's not possible. Thanks in advance to everyone who reads this post.

  • Itunes won't read hidden tracks and video!!!

so i bought the new justin timberlake cd, and i can't play the hidden track at the end of the cd. also, i can't get it so i can watch the video that is supposed to come with the cd or see the interactive booklet.
    please help!!!!

I am also having the same problem with about 200 of my MP3s. The tag info shows up perfectly using QuickLook on Leopard, but in iTunes I can't see any of the info. I have tried converting the ID3 tag version, revesing the unicode....nothing.
    Have you had any luck?

  • Hidden track problem

I have a CD with 2 tracks, one hidden. iTunes will only recognise the hidden track - any clues as to how to cure this? Thanks.

I didn't mean to yell. I am sorry. I was having trouble completing my question in the "new and improved" forum.
Great help guys. If I quantized real tight, select the kick drum (C1) erase duplicates, it worked fantastic. All I had to was lower the quantize % and I had a great track. Thanks again!!!

  • How can one find and remove hidden tracking software on an iphone

How can one find and remove hidden tracking software on an iphone

When folks did not know that it was there, they assume that it is hidden. Even the EU and the US congress got all up in arms about it.

  • Logic's EXPORT TRACK(S) feature is buggy. Anyone else noticing this?

I'm curious to know what Logic's "export track(s)" functions are specifically designed for. I say specifically because I can't quite pinpoint how they work exactly. Meaning, if a track has sends or sidechain processing etc etc those effects are NOT APPLIED to the exported track. Further, I've noticed static in a file (which doesn't have static in the mix) appear on an exported track, also I've experienced out of sync delays and other issues.
My first question is: has anyone else found the export track feature in Logic to be somewhat inefficient, and if so, have you found a suitable work around?
Second question: What is the Export tracks function specifically designed for? It's not designed to print certain effects on tracks and it doesn't apply any sends data either.
Please chime in with any thoughts. My personal workaround right now is to simply solo each track and bounce the project at the global level (for every individual track). I keep the output strip dry and it seems to be working fine so far (but quite tedious). I'm scratching my head to know what "export track(s)" is designed for.
    Thanks!

I'm still unsure as to why you'd actually want to do this.
If you want to give your processed tracks to a mixing engineer, first thing he will do is ask, for the dry material, because, after all, you are paying him to create abetter mix with better procesing than you can.
If you want to save processing power or RAM, then use Freeze.
If you want to create processed tracks for riskfree playback in a live situation, you'd bounce stems anyway.
Also, the request for incorporated Sends does not make sense, as a send only carries dry, unprocessed sound anyway.

Well you are right about the "live situation" scenario. This is why I'd like a "bounce all individual tracks seperately" option. It would facilitate exporting tracks for remixing or performance in Ableton Live. It's a lot nicer to have every track as it sounds in a mix than to have groups or stems when remixing or performing.Right now it just takes a while to solo and bounce every track in a 40+ track project. I just think it would be a very useful function.

  • Waveburner "hidden track" possible?

    Hey folks.
Is it possible to have a song before track one, ? I thought it just was to drag the track marker into the audiofile (witch contains two songs), but it didn´t work the track marker is unmovable.
Hope you can help me, otherwise it might be a thing to add in next update.
I guess this topic has been discussed before, but I can´t find it (I´ve looked at the yahoo group too).
    thanx.

Waveburner and other CD authoring apps have to stick to existing technical specifications (e.g. the existing 'red book' standard) when it comes to burning audio cd's.
Another example for this is the 2 seconds of pause before any audio starts. That also is part of these specs, and it is also not possible to burn a 'ghost track' BEFORE track one (which always has to be the first track per definition). Not very likely Apple are going to change this in another WB update.
What you could do instead is a hidden track AFTER any of the tracks - just make it one long audio file with some silence in between the signals and give it just one ID at the start. Hope this works for you.

  • Importing hidden track 00

Does anyone know if it is possible to get iTunes to import the hidden track 00 on CDs?
In fact, is it even possible to get any computer to even play them in the first place?
Just to clarify; the hidden track 00 is the one that plays when you rewind track 01 on a normal CD player (ideally with some form of time counter display) and typically get a song that begins at, for example, -04:00.
For anyone who didn't know they existed, give it a go. A few examples:
2 Many DJs - As Heard on Radio Soulwax Pt. 2
    Muse - Hullabalo
The Music - The Music (Special edition)
    Rammstein - Reise Reise
    Skunk Anansie - Stoosh
UNKLE - Psyence Fiction (Special edition)
I just wish I could have them in my iTunes library. It would, however, cause a problem filing them correctly, you probably can't have a track number 00 in the file info.
Cheers to anyone who can help.

    No can do.
Really the only way to capture the audio is to interface a stand-alone CD player with your computer, manipulate the CD player to play the hidden track, and use audio capture software to record the audio onto your computer.

  • Hidden track on CD

I know that this site has had topics like this before but I think my problem is a bit different. I recently ordered a CD (neveroddoreven) from the UK and recently received it. A real CD. There are a few "hidden tracks" on this CD. One of which is your standard ordinary hidden track. A song and then a minute of silence and then the hidden song. The other is a bit different and I'm having trouble taking just that song and listening to it on anything but a stereo. The song is located before the first track begins. The only way (that I Know if) to listen to it is to manually rewind at the beginning of the first track. Therefore it doesn't show up on itunes or my ipod. I'm trying to figure out how I can change that. I figured that audacity would work and I could find the song there and then cut it, but even audacity doesn't recognize it being before the beginning of the track. Any other alternative? It's a real pain listening to it on stereo and I can't take a stereo with me everywhere. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Ah thank you for the link. I went ahead and took the initiative to do some inquiries to what a "pregap" track was. To be honest, I didn't really know that there was terminology for all of this, so your post helped me out tremendously. As far as the EAC link you posted. The thread was fine, but I had to find out the download link itself on my own. Thanks once again, it now works just fine, I extracted the hidden song and it is now a separate track (jokingly, I named the track "00-cells" in honor of the fact that it is technically the zero'th track). Thanks once again!

  • Hidden Track Crashes Music App

I purchased an album on iTunes that contains a hidden track as the last track of the album. The hidden track will play when I play the album on my computer, and it burned onto a CD just fine. However, when I play the album on my iPhone (iPhone 5; 8.1.3, but problem was also happening with 8.1.2), the hidden track crashes the Music app. It will play the previous track all the way to the end, but then when it should go to the next (hidden) track, it does one of two things: 1) It will flip to the hidden track momentarily (but not play), then flip back to the track listing screen, then just stop playing and it doesn't proceed onto the first track of the next album for that artist; or 2) Instead of flipping to the hidden track the Music app will just crash and return back to the Home screen.
Syncing my phone with my computer does not solve.  I have not deleted the album off my phone; should I delete and re-download?

I had this same problem with the Leonard Peikoff podcast. I noticed that if I downloaded the podcasts directly from my phone, I could listen to them just fine. However, when I sync'd them from iTunes, the iPod app would crash as soon as I tried to view the podcast under the podcast section.
What I did to resolve it was rename the files in iTunes. The files were named such as "Episode 025 – 8/11/2008" I just removed the " – 8/11/2008" part and now the files can be played.
I don't know for sure, but I think that this may have something to do with the iOS file system or something... Maybe the '/' or '-' character.
It's odd though since my brother seems to be able to play the same files just fine without renaming them (same phone). Others I know who listen also don't have this problem.
    Hope this helps all.

  • Editing "Hidden" tracks from a CD

You know how some CDs have "hidden tracks? When you import them they come with minutes of silenece - can you devide them? and then delete the silence?
    Help? Thanks!

You can't do it through iTunes. I think you're going to need some kind of program that splits audio tracks so you can divide that track into 2 parts. After that it would need to be imported into iTunes and from there to the iPod.
I don't have any experience of any such programs on Windows though.

  • Unwanted feedback using monitor feature

When ever I use the monitor feature for the guitar amp I get unwanted feedback and no guitar playing? Yet I can record in good quality with no feedback. why is this happening?
I use a Line 6 Pod X3 Live with an adaptor to connect guitar to ipad, clean setting on the Pod. I use the headphone jack to connect ipad to a Line 6 Spider 3 15 watt amplifier.

Actually I figured out that the ipad was recording from the mic. How do I get garageband to record from the dock connector?
