Unwanted fills appearing on objects that have no fill

Hi, Something has changed from CS5 to CS6 and I can't figure out what is going on.
This issue happens only when my co-worker and I share a file. We are both using the identical up to date macs with our own versions of CS6.
If he sends me a file with traced text like below when I copy the text and paste unwanted fills appear (and the art for the cutout of the inside of objects vanishes). This happens on any art with "holes" in the objects (not just traced art).
There is no fill on the inside of the letters, file has been expanded.... any ideas what might be causing this? Co-worker and I have worked together for years sending similar files back and forth, but since CS6 this has started popping up.

How are you exchanging files?
If you are saving to external media: It is always recommended here to open/save from/to own hard disk, and to copy from/to networks and removable media. You may be lucky (for a while), but the chances of file corruption and other unpleasantnesses are immensely greater when you use anything but the harddisk, and it is better to be safe than sorry.

What happens if you transfer the files using the OS copy and paste outside Illy, or email them, maybe as zipped files?

There is a report for this in the transport organizer tools area. To get to this you can run SE09 and click the icon with the small hammer. Then run the report titled 'Display repaired objects'

I was sent an .ai file to edit, but when I open I get The document contains PDF objects that have been reinterpreted.

When I click ok I get a screen full of "This is an Adobe Illustrator File that was saved without PDF Content. To Place or open this file in other applications, it should be re-saved from Adobe Illustrator with the "Create PDF Compatible File" option turned on. This option is in the Illustrator Native Format Options dialog box which appears when saving an Adobe Illustrator File using the Save As Command." over and over.
This isn't a PDF file, it's an AI file. It's coming from an organization that provided it on their website for other organizations to download and customize which makes me think the problem is on my end. If I go up to File and Place and up up the file and can see the graphics in the preview screen there, then "placing" just gives me another screen full of the paragraphs about PDF content.
What can I do??

I got the same result when I tried opening older versions of the posters going back to 2010. I do have an older AI - CS3 as it isn't something we use often here in our office.

Using Javascript to hide objects that have no "binding" tab?

I'm attempting to create a form that uses checkboxes to hide a variety of fields. I've run into a problem though; it seems that only text fields have a binding tab (unless I'm missing something). Is there a way for me to do show hides for images and text boxes? When I hold ctrl and hover over these items there is a small circle with a red line through it, which seems to express that it is impossible to manipulate them using javascript.
For the record, I'm using javascript as seen below:
BusinessDBAname.presence = "hidden";
If someone had any definite answers on this I'd really appreciate it.

sorry to say that, but this is a really bad form design.
There are a couple of things you can make it better.
1. Give unnamed subforms a suitable naming
2. Use subforms to organise your form
3. Don't embed fonts at all when you only use the default fonts Arial or Myriad Pro
4. Don't select the checkbox to embed images (they will get embedded always but this method requires more space)
5. Set option to prevent script changes in the form to automatically, otherwise the changes wont be saved
Ok, I suggest you to create a set of subforms to represent your Section 1 - 9.
In each subform you then add a subform for business and sole proprietor.
Into those subforms you then put the desired fields, images etc.
This allows you much shorter scriptings because you only have to change the presence of the surrounding subforms to show/hide an entire set of objects.
You form design finally should look something like this.

     PayeeSetupRequest
          Section1
               Business
                    Textfield1
                    Textfield5
               SoleProprietor
                    Textfield1
                    Textfield3
          Section2
               Business

How do you use pathfinder on objects that have effects applied?

I outlined a bit of text, and then applied Effect > Warp > Arch. What I'd like to do is cut apart parts of the now outlined letters. I tried to use the pathfinder palette, but it applies the pathfinder to old, non-arched shape. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

In case it is important to keep the Warp effect alive you would have to use rather complex Pathfinder Effect constructions (see Effect > Pathfinder).
Probably it's easier to just expand the appearance of your Warp effects (see Object menu), then use the Pathfinder palette.

Unwanted stroke appearing on objects in pdf

Hi
I'm having trouble with a logo I've created in an svg. file. I seem to have to finalized, but when I save it as a pdf. to take it to the printers I see parts of the logo suddenly have no stroke or stroke has been added in other parts.
I don't seem to have any hidden layers I don't think. I'm not sure if there is a setting to change in the window that gives you all the options to choose from when you're saving something as a pdf. Or is there a setting I should be activating when finalizing this logo as an svg that prevents such problems. I'm pretty new to illustrator, before this I was using inkscape which I got the feel of until i decided to go pro with illustrator.
Driving me a little crazy. I've been stuck at this stage for days trying to figure it out but no such luck.
I can't seem to be able to attact the images. Not sure why.

Since updating my Firefox to the latest version 9.0.1 I'm having problems with websites created with Joomla. Nothing displays on my screen when trying to log into the admin panel and the website itself shows no images and there are other distortions.
I'm not having these problems with non-Joomla websites.

I had solved the problem by clearing my cache within Firefox and everything worked fine after that.

How to find all photos that have NO faces, as opposed to UNNAMED faces?

I find that iPhoto often misses faces entirely, especially if the face is wearing sunglasses or a hat or both. Sometimes it is rather inexplicable that it has missed a face, as the face seems obvious.
If you use the smart album method to find all "unnamed" faces, the photos have at least one unnamed face identified. You can then add any missed faces to those photos.
But what about photos in which iPhoto has failed to identify the existence of even one face? Or for that matter, if I want to see only pictures of landscapes or objects that have no people? Does anyone have a method for finding all photos that have no faces in them at all?
For me, the idea is to find all unidentified faces and add them. But as I pointed out above, there may be other uses for this.
Any ideas, anyone?

I don't know if you have written any of these yourself, but do you know how to maybe create a smart playlist with this information via script? If not, no big deal. At least I know have something which I can use, I will just have to run it every so often.

How to delete webintelligence objects that are not viewed

Hi,
I need to find a way to delete the objects that have not been viewed in the last 12 months. We are using Business Objects XI 3.1 here. I've already looked for this feature around a lot of sites and foruns, but I still have not found anything.
We have over than 2.500 webintelligence objetcs in our environment. A lot of them are useless. So we would like to clean up the reports that are not viewed by the users. Maybe we would use this feature one time every year.

We decided to clean up the old documents taking a look to their last modified date. It'll be easier and we won't loose important documents. That is gonna be enough for us.

Filter "Other users" to only show schems that have objects

I searched thru the forum, but didn't see this request anywhere. It would be nice to have a preference to only display "Other Users" who actually own objects in their schema.
In TOAD, there's a preference like this under Schema Browser->Data. Their preferences are:
* Show all users
* Only show users that own objects
* Only show users that own objects excluding Synonyms
* Only show users that own objects excluding Synonyms and Temporary Tables
This would be really useful for me, as our database has a ton of users that have no objects. :-)

It is great to have this feature, but at our site it is VERY slow - so much so that I thought that SQL Developer had hung.
I assume that when this option is selected, the query is doing something like select distinct owner from all_objects and when the option is not selected it is querying user_name from all_users?
It takes only about a second to display our list of appoximately 1800 users (unsorted at the moment :( ) and it took 95 seconds to filter that list to the 235 users that have visible objects (we have ~ 240000 records in all_objects).
On another point, selecting this option effectively removes an already saved filtered user if it doesn't have any available objects. This seems to include checking against schemas with availble objects when expanding the "Other Users" node, which now takes significantly longer than when this option is not set - taking 60 seconds to expand the node which is filtered to just eight schemas out of the 235 with available objects.
Going back to the Other Users Filter to switch off this option appears to simply hang SQL Developer for the ~ 90 seconds that it takes to query the list of schemas with available objects.
I don't know whether it is possible to do something about this sort of performance, but with the performance I am getting at the moment, I won't be using this functionality.

When I open emails with PDFs I click on the attachment (doing this all on my iPad) it gives me the option to "open in iBooks", I accept then after that the document is sucked into my iPad but I can't do anything with the PDF after that. Where is the actual file on my iPad? Why can't I email or send these PDFs to my cloud (Dropbox)?

Why not use an event
Add a While Loop, inside the loop add the Event Sructure.
Now in the event structure selecd the String Controls.value change event to
react
and the new value inside the event that you get,( connect to the String
indicator box.
