Unwanted images

Unwanted images that happen to be downloaded from various sources are being saved in Iphoto.  This started with the new ILife 11 download.  Is there a setting to stop that from happening?

Yes, don't import them? But I suspect that's not quite the issue. Can you explain more?

    Hi experts,
due to privilige of anonymous to access XDB, I tried to use the script below to re-create a image:

    @apex_epg_config c:\my_image_dir

From the created on (time) in EM--> security --> resources --> , I can find the images_200908131131/ is the first image for APEX.
And now I configured anonymous OK. APEX works.
I think it still uses the images_200908131131/.
    And I think I have created a unwanted images/.
    How can I remove it?
And is there a way to prevent link to http://localhost/. Generally, we access http://localhost/apex/f?p:APP_ID:..
If I don't want user to link http://localhost/ to find the file catalog listed above, What can I do?
    Thanks advance.

    Hi,
I don't use thumbnails but I went ahead and turned them on.
Perhaps due to the position of the slideshow only a few thumbnails appeared.
I wasn't able to delete the image I wanted removed.
I tried to remove the image from my assets, and that deleted the whole slide show.
    ( didn't save the changes )
    thanks,

  • I seem to have lost my original images and unwanted images have moved into my library. I couldn't access lightroom 3 as usual and was provided a default option which I clicked. I ely heavily on lightroom and have spent countless hours fixing images, ple.

Hi, I seem to have lost my original images and unwanted images have moved into my library. I couldn't access lightroom as I would normally and was provided with a default option which I clicked. This all occured while I was trying to free up space on my computer while viewing saved images on my hard drive, which are linked up directly to a photoshop elements program. Please tell me this can be fixed.....

    Hi there,
I don't believe I did move or delete my catalogue. Where can I look for my catalog file. Why does my Lightroon now contain more images and ones I don't want on it, without my physically importing them?
    Thanks

  • How would an Apple fan keep unwanted images out of Photostream in IOS 8?

So Apple decides that people don't need an uncluttered thumbnail view of all photos stored in their iPhone in IOS 8. And the UI geniuses also decide that the concept of cloud (aka "server side" in 90's terms) storage and local storage is just too much for the average iPhone user to grasp.
The UI design choices that sprung from this mindset have reduced usability, efficiency, but more importantly the family friendly reputation that Apple trades on in nearly all of their marketing material.
Finding images (particularly when you have thousands) in the Years/Collections/Moments(Maps too!) paradigm is ridiculously inefficient compared to a scrolling screen with rows upon rows of thumbnails touching each other in chronological order. Of course we can quibble about whether the chronology should be based on file creation dates or EXIF metadata but those are decisions that we don't get in the IOS world (yes, another complaint). My main point here is that they had no reason to get rid of Camera Roll. Why can't it exist alongside the YCMM world of dates/locations and useless search tools? Let's face it, the new Recently Added Album is just a silly smart folder as are all the other albums. Why can't I change the 30 day date range to one of my choosing? Or why can't I add what Apple would call a Smart Album into my Albums just as I can add Cro-Mag dumb albums that need constant updating? This would bring back that good old Camera Roll functionality so people not confused by cloud vs local and like to keep track of their original image files could be happy. And the people that need Simple would be happy too.
But back to my original query. I use my iPhone for many purposes including work. I also take iPhone screenshots for work. I also take a lot of pictures and not all of those images should be in my family and sharing oriented personal Photostream. After all Apple, you sold me an Apple TV which I can fire up and share my recent life experiences with others. Why the heck would I want product photography, conference room whiteboard pics, iPhone wallpaper, and all the different images that are not the "selects" but that I want to archive using Lightroom or iPhoto anyway showing up IN MY FAMILY SLIDESHOWS? One of the benefits of digital imaging is the cheap cost of creating and storing many images. I use my iPhone often as I would a DSLR and I frequently shoot many images that are very similar, sometimes using burst mode in the phone. Why would you force me to completely delete images that are not "favorites/selects" just so I can maintain a decent slideshow via Photostream? Why do you not want me to have pleasing wallpaper downloaded via the sundry App Store wallpaper apps? Any new wallpaper I add will now be in the Photostream. Yes, family dinner with the Apple TV slideshow showing images of cars, puppies, clouds, and abstract patterns interspersed with the trip to the pool last weekend sure makes for some great viewing!
This is because you also killed the Photostream album view and I can no longer delete unwanted Photostream images unless I also want to completely delete the image local to the iPhone. If you go to the YCMM (Years/Collections/Moments/Maps) Photo tab there is no way to treat the local image separately from the cloud based Photostream image. This is absurd. You can't pitch Photostream as a lifestyle feature since you now prevent editing and curating this very audience specific collection of images. It's as if you forgot that a huge number of iPhone users are creative professionals! And we use our iPhones for professional purposes as well as personal.
Not to mention that this design choice HUGELY increases the probability of "inappropriate" photos being uploaded to the cloud and lost control over through hacking or just user misunderstanding of how iCloud and Photostream works. Amazing that Apple would do this considering the recent scandal.
So now I'll answer my own original question with a lame "workaround" answer. And yes, it involves a lot more work as opposed to the couple of touches that I used frequently in IOS 7 and earlier to curate my Photostream right on my iPhone: You have to have another IOS device (pre IOS 8) and delete the images from Photostream from there. Or use iPhoto to do the same. So add yet another task to your Reminders app that is now much more of a hassle.
Apple, for the love of Pete, please don't take away control over my source image files and my ability to create collections of images for different purposes.
    Thanks.

Excellently well put and accurate. The answer of course is that Apple want us to rent vast lumps of storage from them. Your point about appropriate images is well made. It's not just **** either but maybe legitimate images that you don't want shared out in the world, such as your wife and daughters caught on camera whilst sunbathing topless in the security of a private villa on holiday. That could prove embarrassing to them if they found their way out into the public domain, easily done by accident from a phone. The fact is that Apple have decided for pure commercial gain to take control of our means of controlling and storing our images. I shoot mainly portraits of my extended family and Landscapes. I don't want to share my images across mobiles etc, I want to sell them or give them to family members myself . Apple you are losing the plot here and alienating your core supporters.

  • Having problems Masking unwanted images

I am attempting to process video images of fish passing at a hydroelectric dam and extract the fish from turbulence and other debris in the water. The data was collected on digital video tape and sent to the computer using an NI-1409 card for processing using LabVIEW 6.1. Initial filtering of the data filters most unwanted particles out, but leaves some, and then using IVB ShapeMatch.VI with a fish image works pretty well to identify the actual fish images. However, when I output the data to a file particles from after the initial filtering and fish data are both written to file (data such as center X, center Y, # of pixels etc.). I have tried using Shape Mask FIlter.vi to mask images that don't meet the minimum value for the
image used in the IVB Shape Match.vi but it hasn't helped, I've even set the acceptance value to 1000. Am I using the wrong mask filter or is there a better way to accept only the desired images? I've attached a copy of the LabVIEW program (I haven't tried to organize the from panel yet).
    Thanks,
    Mark
P.S. You may see this twice. I received an error the first time I sent it and sent it again

    Mark,
Without images to process, it is difficult to see where the information is changing, but from the sounds of it, you are seeing information you thought was lost being saved in your report. If this is the case, you are most likely not saving the image buffer that you think you are, or there is a race condition where it is being saved before its processed. I know this sounds basic, but insert Windraw windows in your program so you can see you image as it is processed. It helps to use the Vision IMAQ Copy (White vi) so you can see the image at each stage, and it does not change its display as you proceed though the program. This will help so you can see exactly what particles are being sent to the file.
    Best Regards,

  • Unwanted image size change when moving a image it's Tab to another Tab in CC 2014

Hi, I opened a photo with a physical size 16"w 36"h. Since role paper comes in 24" width, I proceeded with expanding the canvas size to 24"w, height is unchanged at 36". Then I opened two photos in separate tabs in Photoshop, changed the image sizes to 8"w x 12"h. One Photo is from a 36megapixel camera and the other from a 16megapixel camera. Created two layers in the 24x36 image tab. Then I proceeded to copy each photo and paste in each of those layers (one image per layer in case you’re wondering). The problem is as follows, the copied images are larger when pasted into those layers, 10” wide and not 8”, 14”high and not 12”. Thinking maybe the canvas size had something to do with this, so I made that change. The result was the same, larger when pasted into those layers, 10” wide and not 8”, 14”high and not 12”. Could someone please advise what I’ve done wrong? Note, the ruler bars are visible. Thanks

When you bring one image into another, it is the pixel size that counts.  The physical size of the source image becomes irrelevant.

  • Unwanted image in my finder window

In the finder window I have an image of an untitled CD that has been there for several weeks.  I have tried to delete, eject and throw away the image but it doesn't go away.  Anyone know how to make this go away or to delete it so it is not going to cause a problem.
    Thanks
    Tim

No there is not a disk in the drive, this occurred 2 or 3 weeks ago.  the other 2 or 3 images were easily deleted or thrown away.  I kind of figured that I would need to reformat but hoped that I would not have to do that but it could be worse.
    Thanks anyway.

  • N8 (and 5800) unwanted images in Photo library

    Hello,
I've installed the Podcatcher app on my new N8 and something is happening that used to happen with a number of apps on my old 5800, particularly social networking apps and the last.fm scrobbler called Mobbler.
That is, every image they download gets added to my photo library. Is there any way of making this not happen any more? It's really tedious deleting them all every time I use it - I more or less entirely stopped using FaceBook on my 5800 because of this issue.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
    Cheers,
    Ben

I don't know about y-browser or x-plorer. More software to download and install?
As for creating a sub-folder - would that mean they wouldn't get added again? In effect that means I'm managing Podcatcher's image cache by hand, and I'm not getting paid for it. Grumble grumble. I really like the phone, but little stuff like this takes so more time and effort than it should!
    Cheers,
    Ben

  • Unwanted images in my library

For some reason all the images that come with software have become part of my iPhoto library. How do I get them out, without removing them from my imac.

Unless you've set iPhoto to NOT copy photos into your library, they are merely copies. This happens when you accidentally drag a folder containing an application or something else with image files. iPhoto imports EVERYTHING in the folder, including icons and button graphics in an application, for example.
Ctrl-Click on one of the files and choose Show File. If it shows up in your iPhoto Library, with an unitalicized name, it is a copy.
Don't delete the file that Show File shows you. Go back to iPhoto and delete it from there. The copy within your library will be deleted - it won't disappear from your original software.

  • IPhoto - unwanted images imported

Images that were on my iMac were imported into iPhoto when I was turned on the "Look up places" function.
The locations of where my photos were taken were not showing up on the iPhoto map.  I went to preferences and went to the advanced settings.  I went to "Look up Places" and toggled from "Never" to "Automatically".  The number of places started incrementing.  Soon, some of the places were shown on the map.  The process continued for a long time, however.  It must have been over an hour.  When the process was done, iPhoto was very sluggish.  Switching from one photo to often took more than 10 seconds.  The number of images listed in iPhoto increased from around 2000 to more than 13,000.  It appeared that 75 gigabytes of storage was used in iPhoto.  I rebooted the iMac and the storage now indicates 45.5 GB.  The number of images stayed at more than 13,000.
There are images from graphics like letter heads, arrows, etc., along with bitmaps and jpegs that I have not uploaded with my camera or iPad, but that were on the iMac.  I don't understand what initiated the process since all I did was change to automatically looking up the GPS information on photos.  I have not been able to find any large folder that has thousands of files in it.
    The machince has iPhoto '09 version 8.1.2 (424) and OS X 10.85.
I would like to know what caused the problem and if there is a way to automatically return to where I started.

Restore from your back up prior to this happening

  • Unwanted image conversion happens in .pdf

Hi, when I convert a word .docx to a .pdf file, the image I inserted in Word duplicates multiple times within the same .jpg area.  How do I prevent this happening to my image?  I greatly appreciate any assistance!
    Rita

This is the Reader forum. I'm pretty sure that Reader isn't causing this but only viewing the results.
If you are using Acrobat to create the PDF, you'll want to go to the Acrobat forum. Give details as to what steps you are taking to create the PDF.
If you are usin the Microsoft PDF utility that comes with Office, you'll want to find an Office forum.
    Good luck.

  • How to delete unwanted images in my Ipad which were transferred from my PC

    I have three problems --
    1.  My I pad when connected to I Tunes does not show the Photo tab when I go to Devices.
2  .I would like to delete images from Photos on I Pad which have been duplicated, I follow the instructions from the manual but when I click edit the red delete sign is not bright and nothing will delete.
    3. Until last week my I Pad synced recent images from my PC with no problem.  I have checked my IPad on the diagnistic option and it shows it is fine.

If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

  • My photo library is full of imported unwanted images

I was clicking around on my new mac having just imported final cut pro, and suddenly i saw the importing immages bar and a counter running. It said importing 20000 immages, or something like that. I hit cancel and found I had somehow imported hundreds of thumnails. Looks like every operating immage from an i phone or something. So i set about deleting them. after a few dozen immages had been deleted the photo libary crashed. I went through the rebuild function. This helped, now I have only a few immages left to get rid of but even the rebuild is not helping. The image libary crashes no mater what I do other than rebuild libary but that puts back all the images i alread got rid of. I feel such a numpty i simply dont understand the basics of this computor. Any fixes?

Since you don't have a backup, you'll likely need to manually remove all the photos. Before doing anything, make a backup of your library either via Time Machine, or dragging the library to an external drive.
    Now try this...
Go to the Events view. When you imported the stuff from Final Cut Pro, iPhoto should not have merged the new events with your old ones. You should easily be able to look at an event and know if it's something you want to keep or not. You probably have a gazzillion new events, so this could take a while.
Another option MIGHT be to create a new Smart Album. I'm not at home now, so you'll have to see if this is possible. Create a Smart Album and see if there is an option for it to select photos based on import date. Or maybe based on Event created on/after a date. Like I said, I'm not at home, so I don't know what options are available. If you can create a Smart Album that just conains your problem photos, then you can select them all and delete them by typing Command + Option + Delete. Maybe Larry or Old Toad can verify if this will will work?

  • Unwanted images/screens

During my first download from camera, all screens/webpages recently visited showed up under images and screens in the photo library...more than 5,000! I've started deleting by dragging to trash, but what's going on?

Thanks for the reply. The term "screen" just showed up as headings or titles for groups of "photos" along with dates, that were actually "screen" images, i.e. images or pages that had been on my monitor, such as part of the manual for my new Canon printer or a snapshot of a web page I had visited. I wouldn't consider any of these really photos, but just capturing what was on the monitor at different times of my viewing during the last few weeks. And they were duplicated enough to continue up to 5,000 plus until I stopped import.
I have a Canon point and shoot, PowerShot A700 that I've had since 2006 and downloaded with never a problem to Windows PC, but this was the first time to my new iMac. Connected it through USB cable. And, sorry, no MobileMe account.
Okay, I just tried again to recreate what I did and know what happened, in case there are any newbies like me out there. After naming a new album, selecting Canon from device list, and selecting pertinent photos, instead of clicking on import at bottom right of page (which didn't show because I had zoomed in on the page), I went to "file", then "import to library", and when another box appeared, I left it highlighted on my home image, and then clicked on import. No personal photos, but all screen images. Sorry about that.
