Unwanted Invitations when adding or editing events

Whenever I add or edit an event in my calendar, I get an invitation on my iPhone but not my iPad. I'm running 6.1.2 on both devices. This happens regardless of whether I change an event on my iMac or my iPhone or my iPad. My husband keeps the household calendars via his Macbook Air on iClould and shares them with me. If he adds or edits an event, I get an invitation on my iPhone but not my iPad or desktop. In the iPhone settings for Mail, Contaacts, Calendars, I have turned off New Invitation Alerts.
I would much rather not get these, as it takes forever to click "Done" on all these changes! Thanks.

Try this,
1. Login to Portal as administrator user
2. Access the Administer tab on the Builder page
3. Click the Global Settings link
4. Select the WebCache tab
The Webcache hostname is displayed on that page.
Then check the network IP resolution on the database server. Use the fully qualified name as displayed in Portal WebCache configuration.
1. From the database server commandline run (use WebCache hostname as specified in Portal configuration):
Windows platforms:
   ping webcache_hostname
UNIX platforms:
   ping -c 5 webcache_hostname
Note the IP address displayed
2. Check the correct IP address for the WebCache server. From the webcache server commandline run the same ping command as above.
Note the IP address displayed - does it match with result from step 1.?
If not, this is the cause of the error: the database server is attempting to open the invalidation port on a server which does not have this port accessible.
3. Correct the IP address resolution on the database server: modify the database server hosts file
- either correct an existing entry for the webcache hostname or add a new entry with the correct IP address as applicable
Location of hosts file on Windows platforms:
    c:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc
Location of hosts file on UNIX platforms:
    /etc/hosts

Records randomly get duplicated when added or edited.

For some reason when a certain user is adding a record, it duplicates it three times. This also happens randomly when they edit the record.
Some get duplicated while some don't. There is no workflows or event handlers.

Getting an unwanted line when adding a swf file to dreamweaver and previewing it in the browser...

I created a very simple swf with a box moving from stage right onto the stage. It works fine when previewing the swf itself, but when previewing from dreamweaver there is a small line that only extends half way across the swf file (which happens to be the length of the box). I even made the box smaller than the stage but the line still appears at the bottom.

Sometimes it helps to create a box in the background color that overlaps the edge of the stage. I had the same problem with a .swf that had a black background. The web page had a black background too but there was a white line at the bottom of the .swf when I previewed it in the browser. I added a black box to the background that went past the bottom of the stage and into the surrounding area and resaved it. The white line disappeared.

Stop iCal enabling all disabled calendars when adding a new event?

Whenever I add a new event, iCal enables all my unchecked calendars. I just want edit one calendar without seeing the others.

I would like to recommend that you can remove the account from the System Preferences in Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
Stop using a web service provider account
Choose Apple Menu > System Preferences, and then click Mail, Contacts & Calendars.
Select the account.
Do one of the following:
To delete all the accounts in applications that use the selected account, click Delete (-).
To stop a specific application from using the account, deselect the application’s checkbox.

11g xml error when adding or editing column

I'm getting this error when attempting to add a column (named Division) to any Analysis. If I modify some other column and change its formula to reference the Division column, I get a similar error, but I can click ignore and the system works properly. Division returns results, the results are accurate. The repository passes consistency check. I have restarted all OBIEE services. Short of rebooting the server, I'd like to hear suggestions. Thanks.

I can't get my keyboard to come up when adding or editing contacts on my iPhone 4S

This is driving me nuts! I can't add or edit any contacts. My keyboard does not come up no matter what I try, so I can't type in names or numbers, nothing. Any ideas?? Hopefully my phone isn't toast :(

Is there a way to automatically update events in the Outlook 2010 calendar when adding events in the iCloud calendar in Outlook 2010?

I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. I have synced my Outlook calendar with my iPhone using the iCloud Control Panel. This is great, but when I add an event in the iCloud calendar in Outlook 2010 and subsequently send out invitations to the event, I get the following error:
"This meeting is not in the Calendar folder for this account. Responses to this meeting will not be tallied. Do you want to send anyway?"
I select "Yes" and the invite goes out. However, when invitees receive the email invitation, there should be 2 emails - one from Outlook and one from iCloud. The iCloud invite does not always come through. If the invitee responds to the Outlook email invite, it does not show up on the iCloud Calendar.
Is there a reason that the iCloud email is not always sent or is there a way to some how update the Windows Outlook Calendar when adding events in the iCloud Calendar through Outlook?

I have just discovered this problem as well.

Now all off my meetings entered in Outlook on my desktop PC are not syncing with my ipad and iphone.
If I had known this would have happened I would never have downloaded Version 2.0 of the icloud control panel.
Does anyone know how I can get the earlier version back?

Crash when adding new multi-word event to month view

Recently updated(?) to Leopard from 10.4.11. Now, adding a new event to iCal when in month view often causes a crash. Sequence is:
0) click in desired date box to start new event
1) type first word of event, type space, start typing second word
2) input freezes after a few chars and acts as if I had exited the input box
3) reclick on the input to edit/complete it
4) * crash *

Well, using iMovie to rearrange clips in a mini DV video edited by another program is extremely time consuming. I found a workaround. It still takes time, but it's much faster than rearranging the clips using iMovie.
The workaround is as follows. Bring up Finder and go to the directory where your event's clips are stored (typically ~/Movies/iMovie Events/<name of event>). It helps to setup Finder to be in Cover Flow mode, so you can see the beginning of each clip. Then, sort the files in ascending order by the 'Date Modified' field. This makes Finder sort the files in the same order that they were imported from the mini DV tape. Clips with timecodes have the naming convention "clip-<year>-<month>-<day> hour;minute;second.dv". Clips without timecodes use another naming convention. With the files sorted by "Date Modified" in Finder, rename clips as needed so that the date/time in their file names are in ascending order. Note: when you rename a file, you need to restart iMovie. I suggest not running iMovie while renaming files.
I believe the file date/timestamp is only accurate to the second. Occasionally, there may be a couple of clips that have the same date/timestamp. This may cause the ordering to not be correct. The best way to find these is through iMovie. To modify a file's date/time, right click on the clip in the event in iMovie, and then select "Adjust Clip Date and Time...".
So, this workaround is a lot easier and faster than trying to rearrange things from scratch in iMovie. But it's still time consuming. Creating a project out of an already edited video should take less than 5 minutes (not counting import time), but that's not the case.
I submitted an enhancement request to Apple asking if they can add an option to sort an event's clips in the order that they were imported by iMovie. Those who have the same issue as me, I suggest you submit an enhancement request as well.

When I accept an event invitation in iCal, does it send a response?

I am running iCal 4.0.4 with OSX 10.6.8.
When someone sends me an invitation from Outlook, I get an email with a .ics attachment.
This appears in iCal OK.
Then I click on it.
I get the option to accept, decline or maybe.
If I click "accept", does iCal send a response or not?
If it does send a response, what email address does it send from? If it emails the organiser I want it to come from my work address, not my mobileme address.
I also have the problem that I can't edit events sent to me in this way.
iCal doesn't recognise that the email address the invitation was sent to, my work address, is "me". I DO have ALL my email addresses on the "me" card in Address book. But despite this, I can't edit the invitations I receive. So, for example, I can't put them in the right calendar. Very frustrating.

To be more precise, i accepted the invitation using the Mac, and created the event on iCal, but when I check the event in the application Calendar on the iPad - as said - I cannot edit it, and neither delete it. Does anybody else have this problem?

I tried to update and it keeps telling me to get the Application Manager. And this is what happens

How can I stop getting emails when adding events to iCal (Mac) or Calendar (iOS)?

This question could just as well go to the iCloud on my Mac community...
I put 'I' in the topic for brevity but it's actually my wife who gets emails every time either of us adds or edits events, whether we do it in iCal on either of our Macs or in Calendar on our iOS devices. Presumably this is to do with a setting in iCloud somewhere, but I've searched high and low and can’t find it. I've also compared settings on our Macs and phones and can't find anything that could be the culprit. It's driving her nuts!
For more information, we share all our calendars so that either of us read and write any of them, and we're both on iOS 5.1 on our iPhones (hers is a 3GS, mine's a 4), and we're both on Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion (2010 27" iMac and 2011 MacBook Pro respectively).

this seems to be a new "bug" on iCloud. It's happened to many users (judging by the posts here). My wife and I have one shared calendar and we've been happily using it without the email problems (because I had set iCloud NOT to email us whenever an event changed - this was done at icloud.com, a setting there). Recently we began getting emails. I suspect a change in iCloud that was in error, because I just checked my setting and the option to have an email sent when an event changes is not checked.

Hi, any thoughts here? I tried replacing the system timezone file for IST with a vanilla +0530 GMT offset one (in /var/share/zoneinfo) but that didn't work (even after a reboot). Does Mail (and other such applications) not use the system timezone definition files?

When creating a new event it tells me "attendees can not be changed" I didn't try to change attendees I was simply inviting one. What's happening? I did a reboot but the same message showed up again

I am trying to invite one person to an event. I click the plus sign create the event and add my one attendee. However, when I go to complete it the attendee is no where to be found and I get a pop up box that's says "attendee can not be changed". I didn't change the attendee. The names was pulled from the address book with no problem. I do notice when I go to change my calendar that the attendee line seems to disappear. Help? I am using iCloud with Mac book Pro, ipad2 and iPhone.
