Unwanted temperature postings on Calendar

I posted this about 3 months ago and never received any replies. I have noticed since I upgraded to 10.9 that my Calendar App on my mini Mac (also iPads) is now showing high and low temps a week before & a one-week the current date. How do I remove these temp postings? They are not even correct temps for my city. Hopefully someone can help on this issue.

I had some syncing issues with contacts from MobileMe web. I had place some contacts in a new group but they weren't showing up in that group. It was still empty.
I have worked out that if you turn off contacts from your MobileMe account on your iPhone it clears them all out. When I turn it back on it loads them all back onto my iPhone. It may work with calendars.
In Settings go to your MobileMe account in Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Turn off calendars. There should be a warning. After checking that they are gone, turn the calendars back on. It will take a while but they should return, all newly synced.
Warning this does remove all calendars from your iPhone before replacing them.

How do I turn off temperature alerts in Calendar

Since upgrading to Mavericks, my calendar on every day is displaying the high and low temperature for the city I live in (in fact 3 sets of temperature for the same day!) and also putting up alerts of same in the upper right hand corner of my iMac. I find this most distracting and stupid.
I can't seem to find anything about this in the Calendar help files! I want to turn it off.
Any suggestions would be apreciated.

Tablet is made for Sweden and language is English but default OS widgets have US settings; weather widget shows temperature in Fahrenheit and calendar week starts from Sunday. Unwanted events within a calendar

2 questions:
1. In my iCal I see the major US Holidays already. What will subscribing to US Holidays 1.0 then? Or is this already built in to USA machines. I'm using Snow Lepoard.
2. I want to get another calendar for religious holidays but I'm sure the calendar will have more events where I only want the big ones.
3. I see there's a download page for calendar files, but within iCal you can subscribe to a calendar and it asks for a URL.
So what's the best way to add a calendar and then to weed out dates in that calendar that you don't want to see.

No, I have never seen iCal "built in" Holidays.

In addition to the calendars available at Apple - Downloads - Mac OS X - iCal Calendars, you can also search iCalShare to find one that meets your needs.
So what's the best way to add a calendar and then to weed out dates in that calendar that you don't want to see.
Subscribe to the desired Holiday calendar, then click on the subscribed calendar and use iCal>File>Export...>Export as Calendar... Next, delete the subscribed calendar, and use iCal>File>Import... on the file that you just exported. Make sure that you do not import the file into an existing calendar. After the file has been imported you will be able to weed out the dates that you do not want to see.

Unwanted Double Keystrokes in Calendar (Yosemite)

Hi everyone. I've searched all over, and can't seem to find this problem mentioned in another thread.
I am using Calendar on Yosemite and frequently experience a weird glitch. While editing an entry, keystrokes will begin to double. For example if I type 'b', it will enter 'bb'. This applies to special characters, numbers, and spaces as well. It's incredibly frustrating
After some trial and error, I have been able to somewhat consistently replicate the issue and found it often happens after using the '/' character multiple times in a post. I often reference other dates in the format 12/15/14, for example. I'm not 100% certain that this is the trigger, but it's my closest guess at this point.
The problem persists after quitting then relaunching calendar, however disappears after a system reboot.
I did a clean restore of the OS recently and still have the same problem. My software is all up-to-date.
For reference, I use a google account and only have that calendar open. I didn't have this issue in Mavericks or previous versions of OS X so I think it's a new glitch. I'm using a 2012 Retina MacBook Pro with OS X version 10.10.1
Any ideas on how to resolve this frustrating issue? Has anyone else experienced this?

IPhone adds unwanted alerts to iCloud calendar events

When I create an event on a calendar on the desktop (Mavericks) the event is getting an alert set on my iPhone (4S, iOS 7.04). There is no alert on the event when viewed via iCal on the desktop or through iCloud in the browser. This seems to be occuring on all calendars - whether shared or not.

On your iPhone, go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Calendars...and make sure "New Invitation Alersts" is turned off.
Also check the settings for "Default Alert Times," and "Shared Calendar Alerts."

Hey there just a short update I recently read an article on the community's webpage about sometimes asking cause your new download apps can cause some problems with calendars I had recently downloaded a weather app called AccuWeather for life version 2.1.2. I decided to remove this app from my iPad then proceeded to close my iCloud connection to calendars restarted and found that my calendars now open up except I had no information of course from my calendar appointments I proceeded then to reopen under link to iCloud and it now works. Have noticed that that the AccuWeather app had put on some weather notices for a couple of weeks in the month of November for some strange reason so I will now delete all of those temperature warnings on calendar and retry installing the weather app again to see what happens, will update this forum later.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Firefox 4 slow loading Cityville in Facebook - how to speed up?

Running Windows 7 and Avast Free V6. With Firefox 3, my wife was able to load up the Cityville game in Facebook very quickly. When we upgraded to Firefox 4 it takes ages to load the game. I have reverted to Firefox 3 until we can resolve the problem.

Do you have the Ask Toolbar installed? Check in Add-ons | Extensions. How did you get that you ask? It's easy, you were too intent on clicking "Next" and didn't notice the opt out provision. See screenshot.
All this junk slows Firefox down, but because it's open source and accepts so many extensions, it's vulnerable to this kind kind of exploitation.

Change in Accounts Determination

Hi All,
We require to change the GL account on one account determination for one of our asset classes. The GL account is used for the expense posting for ordinary depreciation.
We have made the change in a test client but we have noticed that the new GL account is only used for new assets created since this change was made. For any existing assets the old GL account is still used.
Is there any way to change these existing assets so that they also use the new GL account as well?

Hi UG,
Once the config tables are updated the accounts are immediately available to the depreciation program and will be included in the next run.
I just tested this in my system and the assets that previously posted to one expense account are now posting to the new one defined in the asset's account determination. It's even possible to post a period to one account, change the config, and then do a repeat run and it will post to the current account... which is different from the original run for that period. I hadn't thought of that before but it could lead to some unwanted financial postings.
Have you confirmed at table T095B that the expense account is correct in that system? My guess is that it wasn't changed on the right (or all) account determinations. Maybe the one you are looking at was left out?

How do I sync my calendar between iPhone and Mac on Mavericks? The postings I've seen so far are not showing me how to do this simple thing! Apple used to be easy to use - not so much any more

I am trying to sync my calendar between the mac and my iphone now that I have upgraded to Mavericks. I understand that I have to use iCloud (which I am not at all excited about) but I'll be damned if I can find out how to do it. I've read several postings in the community but they point me to broad troubleshooting pages and I can't find anything that simply tells me how to get my calendar into icloud to begin with and then how to sync. i was pretty happy syncing dircetly through itunes. I am feeling very sour about Apple right now.

Actually it is pretty easy to do through iCloud,
On your Mac(s)
System Preferences > iCloud
Be sure the services you want to sync through iCloud are checked
click on Account Details and be sure your Apple ID is correct
On your iPhone
Settings > iCloud
Account -- Verify the Apple ID is the same one you set in System Preferences on your Mac(s)
turn the services you want to sync throug iClound or ON. These should match the ones you set in System Preferences on your Mac
On your iPad
Settings > iCloud
Account -- Verify the Apple ID is the same one you set in System Preferences on your Mac(s)

That is literally all there is to it. The first sync will occur when your iPhone or iPad is plugged into power and on WiFi. After that any change made on one of the synched devices will appear on all of the other synched devices the first time they have an internet connection.

I don't understand this answer. What do you mean " your contacts should be in whatever program/service you have selected to sync."? The address book is created on the phone not in Itunes or any other program/service. When Itunes says backing up phone I have to assume it backs up everything on the phone. Most of what's on my phone does not come out of itunes. I download apps directly on the phone. When the software updates it does not bring those apps back. I have to go into the appstore and install them all over again. Itunes music library syncs with whatever is on the device your linked up to BUT the phone book just dissappears after you update the phone. There is no way to save it anywhere else.

How to delete unwanted timezones from Calendar app on Yosemite?

I upgraded to Yosemite and one of the problems I had with Calendar App had something to do with Time Zone.
I realized that Calendar added California time as default. So now I want to delete the unwanted time zone, but cannot find a way to do so.
How does one remove or uncheck a time zone in iCal (Mountain Lion)?
I found this forum and tried, but as the last person who posted said, it doesn't work on Yosemite.
Does anyone know to delete unwanted timezones from Calendar App on Yosemite?

However, I am not asking about how to change the timezone on Mac. I'm asking about how to delete unwanted timezones on Calendar app.
Here I have 2 Pacific Time's. They are basically the same, but sometimes my computer choses one of the other without my intention. And when it does, it keeps showing (PST) on next to the starting time which I do not want. In order to avoid that, I'd like to delete "Pacific Time (America/Los_Angeles)". From the link you provided, I'm not finding the solution to this. I might be looking at a wrong spot and if so please be patient to guide me through.

it is possible but not directly on your Blackberry. Is your Blackberry linked to another calendar management tool like Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar ?
If it is, for Outlook you have to configure your BIS or BES.
For Google Calendar you can install Google Mobile Sync that does just that.
Now, you can add holidays to an Outlook Calendar, or to a Google Calendar. First thing is to grab a holiday calendar ICS file. You can find numerous ones on the mozilla.org website :

For Outlook, you have to download the file to your PC and then import the calendar file into Outlook.
For Google Calendar, you have to add a new calendar resource, in the options of Google Calendar.
Once it's done, you can sync with your Blackberry.

Calendar weekly view: unwanted nonbreaking spaces before the column link

I have a column link in a calendar. In the weekly view, before the link text appears (specifically before the anchor element) multiple nonbreaking spaces are output. The more links I add to the calendar, the more spaces appear, so the links are all over the place in the cells. The HTML looks like
td class="DefDay" valign="top" ... multiple-nbsp-tags-here ... anchor-element ... link-text

Thanks for your quick reply. I have mailed you a screenshot of the corruption I am talking about. The whole page template is "application default". In the "Calendar Attributes" tab in that region, I have three options in the template combo-box: calendar, calendar alternative 1, and small calendar. None of those options have any effect on the column link display corruption. In the "Region Definition" tab. the user interface template is "reports region". I have tried a number of different templates there and none affect the corruption in the column-link display either. I'm using Theme "Modern Blue 20" and the template utilization screen off Shared Components says my calendar page is using a calendar template.

Calendar is creating unwanted Alerts

I use Calendar on iCloud across four devices: iMac, MacBookAir, iPad and iPhone. All running current (10.8.3; 6.1.3) OS.
Recently, Alerts are being added to my Calendar events on the iOS devices, and I don't know how this is occuring.
Example: Suppose I create a recurring event in Calendar on my iMac... to Get Up at 6 a.m. every day, and I make sure I don't create an alert. That event appears on my iMac with no alert.
However, when I open it on my iPad and iPhone, it has an alert: At time of event. Where did this come from?
I have checked that all default alerts are set to off in Calendar preferences on the computers, and also on the iOS devices in Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Calendars / Default, and also accessing iCloud preferences via Safari.
I have tried logging out of my iCloud account on both iOS devices, deleting everything, and signing on, and it does the same thing with every single event. It adds the alerts that I don't want.
Also intriguing, if I DO set an alert in a new event on the iMac, the event shows up on the iOS devices with TWO alerts.
This began out of the blue about two weeks ago, and I can't find a solution. I am getting a lot of alerts that I do not want.
Does anyone else have the same problem? ...And hopefully a solution?

I'm having a similar problem. The Calendar app in iOS (iPhone 4S) is automatically setting for me a second alert for events that is nine hours after the event itself. I have not set any second alert as a default, and even if I did I wouldn't set the alert for nine hours later. Still, I changed my default alerts on Calendar in both iOS and OSX (Mountain Lion) to "none"; I have switched off iCloud sync for Calendar; and I have made sure my reminders in Google are also set to "none". I am still having the problem. I have visited my local Apple store. Unfortunately, the associate didn't understand why I was having the problem either and thus could offer no solution. The only thing that works is going into the Calendar app and manually deleting the second alert for each event, which isn't really a solution to the problem. I have sent a report into Apple about this, but I too welcome any advice.
