Unwanted white border when printing to file on LR2

I have been using "print to file" on LR2 (mac) to export images for a website (the only way that I know to add the identity plate so that it is readable).
I always get a white border around the image.(In addition to the custom Inner stroke border that I can add myself) How do I get rid of the white border??
Thanks,
Nikos.

Nikos!!!! You should be out shooting not blabbering on internet fora ;-)
You;re using LR 2.0 b I think. Two ways: Set up a costum page size with zero margins in the Page setup and reduce the margins in the layout section to zero. Second way is to set custom file dimensions in the print job section and then set the margins in the page layout section to zero. You should also extend the cell size to the max and make sure you have enabled Zoom to fill and Rotate to fit.
Cheers!

  • (unwanted) White borders when printing on Epson 3880 in LR5 (not in LR4)

We have a customers who has been printing using LR4 for quite some time.
Since she upgraded to LR5, she has issues that regularly, she get quite large white borders around the edges (seem like the printer is printing to a smaller page size, the photo's are cut off).
When we import the same images, use the same printer, same driver and all same settings in LR5, all works fine.
Anyone had any similar experience ?
    Mavericks 10.9.3, latest Epson 3880 driver, LR5.4 ...
    TIA,
    Bart

Epson support was no help, giving the stock answer about borderless printing and setting margins.
I do not try to print all the way to the edge of my papers. I solved my problem by selecting the appropriate borderless paper size in the Epson driver and then setting the margins I wanted (0.25” on all sides) within Lightroom.

  • Intermittent Problem of Corruption when printing PDF files

From time to time I have a problem with text corruption when printing pdf files. Text comes out one character alphabetically later.
For example, a file I printed yesterday contained the text "ONE WEEK VISITOR LICENCE". On printing it again today (on the same computer and printer), it appeared as "POF!XFFL!WJTJUPS!MDFODF". But another attempt immediately afterwards was correct. Here is a scan of the correct and incorrect printouts
I have had this problem intermittently over a couple of years, particularly with pdf files embedded as a frame in a web page.
I am using Adobe Reader 10.1.0 (but the problem has also appeared on earlier versions), Windows XP SP3 with all updates and an HP Deskjet 6980 printer on a wireless link.
    Any advice would be welcome

Not sure why this may be happening. But you can try printing the PDFs as an image, which should solve the problem. It may take a little longer to print but at least you will get a correct print.
You can do the same by Clicking on the Advanced button displayed on the Print dialog and checking the checkbox for "Print as Image".
Hope that this fixes the issue.

  • Embeding or keeping your Hyerlinks when Printing a file.

    Good day
I have a query. It is regarding preserving the hyperlinks on a PDF file when it is reprinted to another PDF file.
Everything is correct and well when we create hyperlinks using the Marquee tool. We print the PDF file again as a PDF file. But when we open the new printed PDF file, and verify our hyperlinks on the PDF file, it does not exist (no longer appears to be there).
Is there a way to preserve or keep the hyperlinks created when printing the file?
    Kind Regards,

  • How do I get rid of the white border that prints on my pictures?

    Lightroom 2 - Windows 7 64-bit - Nikon D700
I have just downloaded my Lightroom software to my new computer which runs Windows 7.  I had lightroom on my old Vista computer and just had to change the border size to remove it from my pictures, however, for some reason it will not let me remove it anymore.  When I try to adjust the border size it states it cannot be smaller than .2.  Therefore, I have a white border around all my pictures I am printing.  HELP!  How do I get rid of this border.  Thank you so much for the help.

Make sure you select a borderless papersize in the page setup. That will allow Lightroom to set the margins to zero. Otherwise it sets it to the minumum value the printer tells Lightroom it can print at at the current print size. Your printer and driver need to support borderless printing for this to work.

  • Color issues when printing AI files on PostScript

First off, please forgive me if this is  not the right forum or if I am not using the right terms.  I am the network admin for our company and I'm posting this on behalf of our designer.
We recently added PostScript drivers to our Sharp printers, and we have been seeing odd printing results when printing embedded .AI files.
We use CreativeSuite CS5, and our developer has hundreds of images with pure white and transparent backgrounds stored in .AI format.  When these images are embedded/linked to an Indesign document they print with a solid black background and what appears to be an inverted color pattern, almost like a photo negative.
All embedded EPS files print fine.  The affected .AI files print fine when printed directly from Illustrator.
The embedded images print fine using a PCL driver.  We are trying to implement the Postscript driver for better color quality.
    Any ideas?
(We are using Windows XP SP3, x86
Server based network printing on Windows 2003 x86)
    Thanks in advance
    Matt

You'll get better and faster responses if you post in the Adobe Illustrator forum.  This is an application-specific question rather than a color management issue.

  • Unwanted white border around a div

I placed a div that I am using for a background. Before I add an image I am testing it out by giving it a blue background. I have the width and height set to 100% and left to 0px and top to 0px. When I test it in a browser (IE 8) or view it in Design view it has a white border around it. There is no border setting or margin setting. Is there some preference setting in Dreamweaver that makes this aproximately 10px border? If so how do I get rid of it?

Thank you both - that helped to clear up some of the issues but others remain. I'm assuming I can keep the dialogue going but will start a new thread if that is required.
I uploaded the page and css files to my server. The page file is http://www.wlvs.com/untitled-1.html and the css file is http://www.wlvs.com/test.css  I ame using these file to try out styles. The background div (backgnd) will ultimately be an image but for now I'm just using a color. The "wraper" has an image that I gave a padding to at the top and bottom and for some reason it is showing a dark blue color. - I thought it would allow the background color to show through - shouldn't it??
The other issue is centering the logo in the "header". I suppose I could use <center> but I am trying to figure out what is the css code for doing it. Nothing seems to work. I was able to center the "wraper" image but could not do the logo.
Any help would be much appreciated...

  • Lines on image when printing Raw files

    Dear All
I am trying to print Raw images.
After converting and making my adjustments, I click on File > print (in the PSE editor) and then use the cursor to drag out the image to the size I want (roughly a 10 inch by 8 inch image to be printed on A4 paper). I then print it and it comes out with loads of parallel lines on the image.
    Any advice to correct this?
    Regards
    Jon CAmilleri

    Hello All
I am managing to print out raw files fine after manipulating them in canons own software (Digital photo professional) but still getting bands when using PSE 7 raw converter? Any more advice?
When sending to print in PSE a box comes up saying 'Some post-script specific settings (interpolation, calibration, encoding) will be ignored as you are printing to a non-postscript printer'  This box does not come up when printing from digital photo professional. Could this be the problem resulting in bands on the image and, if so, can it be corrected?
Someone mentioned about Gamut problems - how do I alter/correct these?
Also, with Raw files, after I have manipulated them (e.g to black and white) how can I perform other tasks (eg dodge and burn areas)  as it seems that PSE wont let me do this on a RAW image.
Do I have to save it as a JPEG first ?   If so, what is the point in taking a RAW image in the first place if I am going to lose detail by converting it to a JPEG?
    Sorry for all the questions
    Regards
    Jon

  • Faint grey border when printing on roll paper in Photoshop CS5

When I print in Photoshop CS5 on roll paper, there is a faint grey border that prints all around my image.  I haven't created a grey border in my files.  Does anyone know what setting is creating this or what's going on?  And how i can stop it?
    Thanks!

    Also, just did this test:
I used all of my old settings:
    Roll Paper selected
    Ultra Prem. Photo paper luster
    Super 2880 dpi
    no high speed
And then I used the old paper profile for ilford gallerie smooth pearl. (I used this even though I'm currently printing on Ilford Prestige paper.)
And it came out with NO faint grey Border!
Then I tried it with all of those same settings, except I used the older profile for Ilford Gallerie Smooth Pearl for the ROLL paper (IGSPP11Roll_EPP4800_PSPPn.icc)
Then I got the grey border.
And finally just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I tried one more time:
All settings as above except I chose the GPSPP12_EPSpro4800_PSPPn
Which is the profile I downloaded to match the prestige paper.
    And GREY BORDER!
So It seems like using the prestige profile was giving me the wash of grey. And also the roll paper version of the old gallerie smooth pearl also gave me a grey border.
But what should I do now? I want to use the proper paper profile so my colors and tones come out right. I don't feel comfortable just using the wrong paper profile just to stop the border.
On another note, I researched the Highlight Point shift (based on advice I heard from a friend) and that really sounded like what was causing it. However, I am not even seeing that on my printing options. I must be using a different driver or something. When I'm in photoshop, i just select "File - Print" and then go through that normal dialog. Is there some other way to print that gives me many more options?
Thanks to you all for your help so far.

  • When printing PDF file, have FORM TEXT in text fields

When I print a PDF file, I get { FORMTEXT } in all the text fields (as well as { FORMCHECKBOX } for where the person would circle an answer) and I don't know how to turn it off. Appreciate any help.
I also get symbols where there should be a regular empty box (where then someone would just put an x or check mark).

Do you mean that you get this when printing FROM a word document with
form fields TO a PDF? If so, you have to turn off your Word option
    that prints field names.

  • Security issues with applets and windows Vista when printing to file

    Hi, everyone
I am currently developing an application that prints out the result of some calculations.
from a Javascript file, the output finally ends up in a java applet that should print the file in a special printer.
For debugging purposes I have created a File printer that creates a file from the output comming to the printer; this way I can debug what commands the printer is receiving.
This worked well on Windows Xp; Vista always asks for permissions for the applet, and altough I guarantee these permissions, printer is not allowed to create the output file and reports an error writing
after a little research, I have found that java applets have all permissions when certificated as trusted applications; all but file creating permissions
anyone has any idea of how could I fix this problem?
    Thanks in advance

    HI,
Have you actually signed your applet? If the signers certificate is the trusted key store for Java it should treat your applet as trusted. You can use a self signed certificate for testing as long as the cert is in the trusted key store.
