Unwanted zoom in safari: is there a fix?

In Mavericks on a 2 year old iMac, Safari sometimes spontaneously zooms, disrupting work on screen. Is there a fix?

could it be pinch to zoom was activated?
could it be that you activated Accessibility settings as your text in this post is also large maybe you activated something for weak of sight people

but to keep it simple, my immediate issue is that Safari and Firefox are displaying my video differently. Firefox appears darker and Safari appears brighter. With my monitor set to a gamma of 1.8 (default for OS X) Firefox looks perfect and Safari looks washed out, and with my monitor set to 2.2 (Windows default and all-together better looking) Firefox is too dark and Safari is perfect.
All I want to know is WHY they look different and how to fix this.

While this may work with audio and video originating from your own computer it doesn't seem to effect audio and video viewed from the Firefox 5.01 browser which uses a QuickTime plugin. Audio and Video viewed from Safari and Firefox 3.6.19 work fine which leads me to believe the QT plugin and Firefox 5 browser are not working correctly.

Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

I don't think that extension is supported. I believe Firefox can only read .json and .html.

Why are drop down menus on webpages in Safari no longer working? I have iphone4 ios6.0.1. Is there a fix?

Since I updated to 6.0, the drop down menus on the web pages I use in Safari on my iphone 4 are no longer working. The drop down appears and then quickly disappears so that you can't select anything. Is there a fix? One example is http://www.scvavolleyball.org/ I need to select Juniors>Girls>Weekend Sites but I can't on my phone....but I used to be able to....and I still can on my ipod touch. The current release supports the white-space property for a text area and it is possible that the website uses white-space: pre instead of white-space: pre-wrap.
The former will prevent Firefox from wrapping the text.
You can check that in the Inspector via the right-click context menu.

Go to your Google translate bookmark.
Type in a word then tap whatever language.
Make a select for the language to be translated to by tapping Dutch (or whatever language you see in the box all the way to the right. You should see a language menu.

I can not get FF 8 to resize the foreground window when I press ctrl + to zoom in, Is there a fix?

I have tried disabling all add ons viewing with original default settings. Nothing seems to work. So I am stuck using FF 3.6 which is the last version of FF that works with Java.

Zoom in Safari is terrible in Lion. SL was better. Can it be fixed?

The two finger zoom in safari actually zooms (makes pixels bigger) instead of before when it would increase font size. The old way was much better on my 27" iMac. I have trouble seeing small font, so making everything bigger helped. With this new method, it tends to make certain things blurry or pixelated. For one of the online games I play (not flash, but something else), when I make it bigger in lion now, i can't click on buttons in the game (i have to click to the far left or right of the button to get it to work). Can I revert this back to the SL way of zoom?

Title says it all. I just upgraded to Mac OS X Lion, and can no longer use a finger swipe, whether one or 2 fingered, to move backwards an forwards between pages. I can still do so in Safari, but not in Firefox 5.01, my preferred browser, any longer. Doesn't matter if I try using one, two or more fingers

This is too much of a fundamental, functional problem to have continued for so long. I upgraded to 5.1 in hopes of the frequent crashes ceasing, but now I'm immediately struck with this problem. Not a good start.

since upgrading to OS lion, my mac book pro (2010 August) keeps freezing (non responsive, requires restart) when i turn on my mac and the system is trying to open apple mail. while apple mail is attempting to collect new mail, the macbook pro freezes. this happens every 2nd time i try to start up my computer. this only started happening after i upgraded to OS lion. please let me know what I need to do to fix this. being forced to restart every 2nd time i turn on my macbook pro has been very frustrating. not sure if apple mail is also the cause of my macbook pro for being very slow during start-up (on the occasion the computer doesn't freeze).

I am having similar 'freezing' problems with many programs (Mail, Safari, iTunes, etc.). I have done a clean install of Lion instead of an upgrade when it came out. Perhaps something went wrong with my install? I'm thinking about wiping and reinstalling.

I have exactly the same problem. The device was my favorite computer until 8.1.1. Now it runs s-l-o-w-l-y, requires endless reboots.
To improve the performamce, I have tried these:
1.Go to Setting->General->Accessibility->Reduce Motion. Turn on.
2.Reset iPad device settings using Setting->General->Reset->Reset All Settings. Its increase iPad performance little better.
3.Hold the sleep/wake button and home button upto 8 seconds. This will turn off your iPad. Then turn on iPad. Wait few moments. Do the same thing twice to solve this issue.
Solution 3 worked for me. And, I always recommend you to backup your iPad first before any action to avoid any data loss.

Hey guys is there a fix for the 6233 to stop the default ringtones changing back when you change the theme? It does my head in. this phone is full of bugs i am sure of it.

My systems are all running 10.4.9 with all updates.
