Unzip downloaded patch on HP Unix

I have downloaded patch 9.2.0.5 from metalink. The downloaded filename is in the format of <filename>.zip.
According to the instructions I should gunzip the file and then run the cpio command. In the instructions the gunzip utility should be run on a file with a extension of .cpio.zz but the downloaded file has a extension of .zip
I am little confused, can anybody help, I mean should I run gunzip on .zip or should I run MS winzip.
If my post is confusing, please let me know and I can try to better explain what I am asking.
Regards,
Bhargava.

You should use the unzip executable that you can find in the $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory (I dont't think gunzip would work).

  • Re: Satellite A300-E00 - Can't download patches or updates

    Hey guys.
My brother has a A300/E00. It connects to the internet (he can google, go on facebook etc) but it wont download patches or updates for games (wow,sc2) or software(adobe).
Does this sound like a software or hardware problem? He hasn't changed any of his software or their settings. Thanks in advance.
    Peace.

    Hi ThePathMaker,
I think you must be a little bit more specific.
Why you cant download patches or updates? Do you get an error message or what happens exactly?
For me it sounds like that antivirus or firewall is blocking downloads. You should check the options and enable downloads!
    Furthermore test different Internet Browsers!

    for(int i=0;i<retList.size;i++){
    out.write("xyz"+"\t");

    Hi Jothi,
This is not an answer to your question. It is a question for you instead. I have tried to reach you on several forums regarding the HAP_DOCUMENT documentation you have.
Again, I am really sorry to contact you through a differente forum, but I really need the HAP_DOCUMENT documentation for my project.
Please send me a message to [email protected]
    Thanks again.

  • How to download patch 3006854 for free?

how to download patch 3006854 for free?

First you need a valid support contract, then you can access/download the patch for Bug 3006854.
If you (your company) dont have paid Support you may want to try to google for 'jakub jelinek less buggy jvm' and get the solution from Red Hat to create a 'dummy' lib for problem apps.

  • Downloading patches via ftp

    Hi
I found these instructions for downloading patches via ftp...
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-3331/6miuccqni?a=view
(Under section entitled "Example—Downloading and Applying a Signed Patch by Using ftp")
I tried to follow these, but cannot see a signed_patches directory?
Is this old method only relevant to Solaris 8 - and if so - what is the Solaris 10 equivalent method of downlaoding patches via ftp?
    Regards,
    GXW

I don't think we're alone, but no one seems to have an answer. This thread seems to be a user having the same problem:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1855814
I'll keep working at a solution and will post if I can find one.

  • SunSolve Issues and Problem Downloading Patches

Signed up for a SunSolve account a couple days ago and then purchased a 1 Year Standard Subscription today so that I could download patches and what-not.
I activated the subscription and then added it to my SunSolve account.
I then tried to download some patches like the one below with no success.
NAME: Solaris 10_x86 Recommended Patch Cluster
    DATE: Aug/13/07
When I try to download a patch I get the following message across the top of the window.
You are logged in to SunSolve but are not associated with a valid contract. You have access to Free Patches and Content only.
I have had no luck with phone calls or emails I need some help ASAP as I have to ship this server out tomorrow.

I'm afraid that this forum is for issues with patch manager/smpatch/update manager.
You may want to send an email to [email protected] for support in this matter.

  • Unable to download Patch 6194129

    Hi,
I'm trying to download Patch 6194129: TRACKING BUG FOR FORMS/REPORTS 6I PATCH 19 FOR APPS CUSTOMERS from metalink....erm sorry My Oracle Support.
Once I successfully search for and bring up the file and click on it (p6194129_60828_WINNT.zip), it does redirecting to aru-akam.oracle.com...etc .then clicking on that gets to a cannot find server error.
The link for that is http://updates.oracle.com/ARULink/Error/authorization_failure?referrer=/aaruna03/vol/patch08...etc.
When I use the wget options the link to get the file looks like this
    [https://updates.oracle.com/Orion/Services/download/p6194129_60828_WINNT.zip?aru=9345334&patch_file=p6194129_60828_WINNT.zip|https://updates.oracle.com/Orion/Services/download/p6194129_60828_WINNT.zip?aru=9345334&patch_file=p6194129_60828_WINNT.zip]
Is a server down or does anyone know an alternative link to this patch?
    Cheers
    Kofi

I can download the patch from My Oracle Support website with no issues.
Here is the direct link --> https://updates.oracle.com/ARULink/PatchDetails/process_form?patch_num=6194129
You may also check (Upgrading Developer 6i with Oracle Applications 11i [ID 125767.1]), search for the patch number and click on the patch.
If you still have the same issue, try from a different machine/browser (use a download manager software if possible), and check then.
    Thanks,
