Unzipping not Unzipping

I have tried several times to unzip some movie files, it seems that my system is intent on telling me that it can't do it due to
'Error - 1'
Sure the files can't be too big? But it happily unzips smaller files.
Any ideas????
Thanks
Matthew

A brief PS: I tried zipping the biggest movie I have, which is 2.12GBs (took forever to do it), moved the zip file to another drive, then unzipped it there with no problem. The zip file was 1.86GBs, which is a pretty minimal saving of space. Definitely not worth zipping unless you have some really special reason to do so.

  • PayloadZipBean - Unzip not working

    Hi,
    Let me explain my scenario first, it is simple but not properly explained in many blog..
    I need to fetch a Zipped file( Input.zip), unzip it (contains a Input.xml file ) & map, send it to another file server.
    In my Sender CC I have added the following in modules
    AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean  Local Enterprise Bean Transform
    AF_Modules/PayloadZipBean      Local Enterprise Bean Unzip
    CallSapAdapter                          Local Enterprise Bean  0
    Transform                                  swap.keyName           payload-name
    Transform                                  swap.keyValue           attachment;filename="Input.xml"
    Unzip                                        Unzip.Mode                unzip
    Source Directory in Sender CC points to zip file
    My expectation is that, a new attachment is created during unzip, it is pointed as payload because of PayloadSwapBean.
    After executing, it shows parser error in sxmb_moni, when I click the payload in in sxmb_moni, a popup comes asking me to save the zip file, it proves that the file is not unzipped & attached as new payload.
    Need your help .
    Thanks,
    Sridhar

    Hi Stefan,
    Your suggestion looks good, when In checked in SXMB_MONI under payload
    it showed MainDocument(application/xml)...when I clicked it asked 'Do you want to save the file' & showed the file name as  25c4850_1827HTML000007, file type as WinRAR ZIP archive...
    Do you want to use this has file names ?
    moreover I think the  25c4850_1827HTML000007 will change if I try to execute again ...
    Can you clarify me ?
    Thanks,
    Sridhar

    Look at the unzip permissions (ls -l /usr/local/bin/unzip)There are other things too that one would need to verify, but going in to that would be getting too much off-topic.
    Please note that this forum is not about unix-based commandry or hp-ux stuff. Instead, getting to know some of the google results on the error message would probably be more helpful (and resourceful).

  • Should not unzip file under $ORACLE_HOME

    OS:AIX 5.2
    OS: Linux 86
    E.G:
    echo $OARCLE_HOME
    /opt/oracle/product/10.1.0/database
    I am applying Patch 4505133_10105 on my above two servers.
    I have downloaded p4505133_10105_LINUX.zip or AIX.zip and move to /opt/oracle.
    In my uderstanding , I should not unzip file under $ORACLE_HOME or $ORACLE_HOME.
    I need to do as follows:
    cd /opt/oracle/Disk1
    ./runinstalleris it ok?
    Please confirm
    DN

    You can unzip it to any directory, need not be the one under ORACLE_HOME. But during installation, you need to specify the correct ORACLE_HOME path, the one to be patched.

  • Cpgz zip files not unzipping

    Hi!
    been working on this for hours...  Help!
    I am trying to get Overdrive set up on my computer so I can eventually get it set up on my boys' ipads.
    Our library:  http://www.bismarck.org/index.aspx?nid=23  has Overdrive so that we can download Audio books and ebooks.  I got the ebook set up no problem, but the audio book that I download, creates some kind of zip file with a .CPGZ extension that will simply not unzip.  I read on the Apple Support Communities to download The Unarchiver, but that does't work either.
    I don't want to download all this stuff on the boys' ipads until I can be sure I know how to do it right and not muck up their ipads.
    I'm hoping it is something simple...  Thank you!!

    Corrupted file, either during download or from origin, Incomplete download, stopped at 99% done or similar.
    Certain web browsers mishandling a file during or after the download process.
    Try downloading with a different browser.
    Also you can try and use the Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app , the unzip command:
    # unzip path/to/zipfile.zip
    One way in terminal is type the command unzip and drag your file to the terminal window and release.
    Return

    Look i would say that you should not install on windows: I used vmware to cobfigure the database and i spent 3 days without seeing the sun and i have just finished it. it is very rewarding when you accomplish it.
    1) make user that oracle has permission to that directory
    chown oracle:oinstall /opt/oracle
    or try unzip the file using the root

    go to that path where it is installed and then unzip it.

  • Can not Unzip oracle 11g zip file for x64

    Hi,
    I have downloaded oracle 11g file from (window 2008 server with x64)
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle11g/111060_win64soft.html
    File Name      win64_11gR1_database_1013.zip
    when i try to unzip this file I got an error like:
    Archive: win64_11gR1_database_1013.zip
    End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive.unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in win64_11gR1_database_1013.zip,and cannot find win64_11gR1_database_1013.zip.zip, period.
    error indicates me towards two ways
    1] File is invalid - I have downloaded same file twice
    2] File is distributed in multiple files- site have only downloadable link
    Can any one please help me to get out of it?
    Thanks and Regards
    B.Sandeep

    If you are really on Windows 2008, this file is wrong , you need
    Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1.0.7.0)
    for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x64
    Of course that doesn't necessarily solve your general unzip problem, compare the size of the downloaded file with the size on the download site. If there's a difference,download is not complete for whatever reason.

  • 2013LinuxCW14.zip corrupt, will not unzip on Linux

    Hi folks, the LabView Compile Worker 2013 for Linux zip file ( 2013LinuxCW14.zip) appears to be corrupt. We also tried to unzip it on OS X and Windows machines with the same issues. We had the same problem with the 2012 compile worker zip file and NI recreated it for us. Is there somebody that can look into this one for us? Thanks...Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
    Where did you get the zip file from? Did you download it from ni.com? I just downloaded the file from ni.com, and I was unable to unzip it successfully (on a Windows 7 machine). It sounds like just that particular copy of the file may be corrupted, which may mean you can get around this issue by just downloading the file again from ni.com (from the link below). Try downloading a new copy of the file, and let me know if the problem persists.

  • Not unzip the .gz file

    I am installed Solaris 8 on the sun sparc machine. i want to install the ssh on the solaris. i have download from sunfreeware.com. but i am not able to unzip the .gz package. can any boyd help me.

    If it's from sunfreeware, it won't be a tar file.
    Sunfreeware has a big red link on the left that details how to install their packages (including run gunzip on them)
    http://www.sunfreeware.com/download.html
    If you don't have gzip for some reason, you can get the sunfreeware package, and it is not compressed.

  • File is not unzipping in solaris

    hi gems...
    I have a database dump file taken from windows machine and then i have zipped it.
    then i have put that .zip file in solaris machine and when i have tried to unzip it by using the following command..
    unzip filename.zip
    then it is failing with the following exception..
    end-of-central-directory signature not found
    N.B : In windows the zip file is working fine means it can be unzipped successfully.
    please help..thanks in advance...

    A lot can go wrong in the process of accessing or copying the zip file between your computer systems. You will need to provide more info about how you are processing the file, including information about your operating systems and version. If you are dealing with a file that is larger than 2 GB than there could be zip incompatibilities. Try to use an unzip program that supports large file sizes, for example p7zip http://p7zip.sourceforge.net. Other tools also exist.

    Cannot unzip any file on MAC 10.7.4. I have tried the same file on OSX 10.6 and it unzips fine. NO files on the Macbook Air running Lion can be unziped. Getting a popup that says " The document abc.zip could not be opened. The file isn't in the correct format .. " See attached screen shot.
    Appreciate any advise / solution to fix unzip built in tool on Macbook air

    I just encounter a problem where I could not adjust the sound volume via the keyboard - I have the fn setup so its fn+f12 to turn up - it shows the volume on the screen but has a command block symbol below it (circle with an angled line in it). Having googled the problem, resetting the PRAM solved this issue.

  • Premiere Elements 11 did not unzip/install

    I download all 1.2GB of the file twice, and both times I came up with a "PremiereElements_11_LS15_win64.7z" file and nothing to unzip it with.  I finally used Winrar to unzip it but couldn't determine which file was needed to install the program.  I tried "Adobe Premiere Elements 11.msi" but it opened the UNinstaller.

    setup.exe is the installer. Although Premiere Elements is the video editing software. If it was Photoshop Elements 11 you were after you need to go to http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-10-11-downloads.html to download it.

  • Zip file with special chars are not unzipped properly

    Hi all,
    i have following problem: I want to unzip a zip file. In the zip file there is a file with a special character i.e. "straße". When i call now zipFile.getInputStream( entry ) null will be returned. What can i do? Thanks a lot
    ZipFile zipFile = new ZipFile( file );
        Enumeration enumeration = zipFile.entries();
        while ( enumeration.hasMoreElements() )
          ZipEntry entry = ( ZipEntry ) enumeration.nextElement();
          if ( !entry.isDirectory() )
            InputStream in = null;
            OutputStream out = null;
            try
              in = zipFile.getInputStream( entry );  //<- Here null will be returned When i look at the entry the "ß" of "straße" is represented by á.

    May be you need to specify an ecoding for ZipEntry that would allow special characters?
