UOM in master ORG and Child Organization

Hi all,
In INV user guide, in "Primary Unit of Measure" section, I read the "Note: If an item belongs to both a master organization and a child organization, and these organizations belong to the same costing organization, the primary unit of measure for the item must be the same within both organizations."
What happend if I configure the diferent UOM in master and child org?

Hi,
You just need to go to the master item form, select the item/s, and click on Tools > Organization Assignment... That will take you to a rom where you can assign the item to any child organization. Hope it helps.

Relation between item master org and operating Unit

How single item master org can relate to multiple operating Unit so that items defined at Master Org level can be accessed in other operating units ?

Hi,
Item will be accessed in inventory organizations which you assigned the item to.
To access items from particular Operating Unit in Purchasing module
define Operating Unit Organization as a Inventory Organization as well.
Then choose this Organization as a Inventory Organization in Purchasing : Setup>Organizations>Financial Options.
In Order Management you choose an Operating Unit which items can be accessed.
Each item assign to Item Master Organization and to Operating Unit Organization and to required Inventory Organizations.
This works in 11i. I dont know how it is in R12.

SAP CUA connector changes password in master system AND child systems?

Please confirm if OIM can change the password in both SAP CUA master and child systems through SAP CUA connector. The connector guide mentions the following parameter can be defined in SAP CUA IT Resource.
Parameter: SAPChangePasswordSystem Flag that accepts the value X or ' '
If the value is X, then the password is changed
only in the master system. If the value is ' ', then
the password is changed in both master and child
systems.
This parameter is used by the Reset
Password function.

1) You can use report RSCCUSND to distribute users from CUA to child client. Check section "Sending User Master Data to a Child System" in [CUA cookbook|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/fe4f76cc-0601-0010-55a3-c4a1ab8397b1?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true].
2) if the user account has not been synced to CUA then you should be able to delete it in child system. The button should be displayed for unsynced users. You can use transaction SCUG to sync users between new child system and CUA. Check section "Transfering Users from New System" in [CUA cookbook|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/fe4f76cc-0601-0010-55a3-c4a1ab8397b1?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true].

Master package and Child Package

Hi Experts,
While doing the configuration for connection managers in a package I had noticed that if I don't hard code or give some invalid the user id and password for the database, even though it is configured it is throwing error while opening.
Is it the right way of doing?
Also when I run the master package all associated child packages are opening in different windows. Is it normal?
Please advice.

Change Item Master Org

HI, I have a Client who has 104 inventory Orgs. 4 are average costing. the rest are standard costing. BUT the Item Master is Average Costing. it was setup like so when i got in. the question is,
Can i create a new Item master Org and change it for all the Orgs so i can take advantage of transferring costs across standard costing Orgs and have one item master list?

The primary uom on the item master cannot be changed. You can set up conversions between primary and other uoms.
One alternative you can look into is to rename the incorrectly created item to a different item number and redefine the item from scratch, with the correct UOM. Please note that in order to update the item number for the existing item you have to set the profile option Inventory: Updateable Item Name to Yes. (Please double check the exact profile option name).

Master control attribute value discrepency between Master and child org.

Hi Guru,
We are facing a strange issue in Track install Base Attribute values. There are some 60K item having discrepency in the value of the this attribute between master and child.
We are wondering how it happens as this attribute is master controlled one and we never changed this attribute control and kept as Master controlled. The master value is true
If you guys experience this issue, please let us know the solution that you had applied to fix this issue.

Try executing the vo1 query before setting the bind variable for vo2, then execute the vo2 query (if that's what you want to do).

Problem with Master and Child table

Hi,
Working in jdev 11.1.1.2.0. I have one strange issue. i have master and child tables, the model is working fine with the view link. but when drag drop the same into my jsff. when i query the result 1st time 2 tables are refershing properly and data is coming. but the when i trying to select another row in the 1st table my 2nd table(child table) is not refreshing.
i put partial trigger of the 2nd table as 1st table id.
can any one help wht is issue here.

Defined following BC:
Serv VO - Master VO, has Bind_cNum (bind variable)
ServDetail VO - Child VO, has Bind_cNum2 (bind variable)
ServViewLink VL - View link between Serv VO & ServDetail VO
in AMModule Impl have custom WS:

Transaction Monitor - Org Unit (Service) and Service Organization

When using Transaction Monitor I notice that there are two available filters:
Org Unit (Service) and Service Organization
When I try and use these filters only some of the Org Units I have created using PPOMA_CRM ae visible and most of the other org units are not.
How do I make all the other Org Units I have created visible to this filter option?

Hi Naveen,
We assign these Org Units on the support ticket in the support team field when creating the ticket. Do I need to make any further configuration as all the support teams I have entered on the tickets do not appear as a selectable option when using the Org Unit (Service) or Service Organization filters in Transaction Monitor.
I am sure there is somethign I am missing.

My question is:
Is it possible to create the index for master and child tables?

I am able to create the index using above link,but problem accured , when i search for one master data column value then it is returning many rows with same master data for each child row.
for example

Another doubt is ,i have the column value like p_consolidation_set_id,when i give this in CONTAINS (a.dummy, 'p_consolidation_set_id') > 0 ,then not able to get the any results.

There are various ways to concatenate the values. One nice generic solution is to use Tom Kyte's stragg function:

If p_consolidation_set_id is a variable name, not a value, then do not put quotes around it.

Pages and Child Templates Not Updating

I'm having a problem in Dreamweaver CS5 where pages and child templates are not receiving updates made to the parent template. When I update the template, sometimes some files using that template will update, and some will not. Repeatedly updating the template sometimes forces the changes, but other times it does not.
For instance I was working on a 50 page site earlier, made up of 1 master template with 5 child templates. I made changes to the master template, and it went through the update process, saying all the child templates and files have been updated. However when I open some, not all, files, they are not updated.
I manually went through the entire site and hit 'update page from template', and that seemed to work. I opened a different site with only 1 template, did an update, and it only updated some of the files. I updated the template again, saved, and it then proceeded to update a few more randomly selected files.
This was happening sometimes in CS4, but in CS5 it has become a bigger problem. Please let me know how this can be resolved.
Edit: This is on a freshly reinstalled CS5 with all updates.

However, your site is small, and simple. Nested templates can work OK in such circumstances. But I have never seen a use of nested templates that couldn't be done more simply with some other approach.
