UP CPU FW800 1ghz 133 mhz bus.....Is hard work : (

What is the best option
http://www.gigadesigns.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=19 For
The giga CPU you can set the speed clock 1.33 to 1.53???
or is best
MDD Cpu dual 1.42 (in this i must to change the bus speed ......)
Thanks for the help
FW800 1ghz 133 mhz bus   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Depends...
the Apple CPU uses 1.4 GHz rated 7455B chips.
the Giga CPU uses overclocked 1.25 GHz 7455B chips.
Changing the bus speed on the MLB is a bit of a chore, but the Apple CPU *MAY* overclock better.

  • K7T Turbo2 Ver.5 133 mhz bus

I am sure this issue has been addressed numerous times: However, I cannot get my K7T Turbo2 Ver. 5 system board to accept the 133 mhz bus with my Athlon 1700+ CPU.  I have installed 133 mhz memory and, (as recommended in this forum), purchased and installed a 450 Watt power supply.  This does not resolve the problem. When I jumper "J17" to 133MHZ (open), windows XP halts during the boot.  Windows XP will only load in the shorted jumper position.  The maximum CPU speed I can obtain is 1100 MHZ!!  When I originally installed the CPU, I used white heat transfer lube between the CPU and the Athlon cooling fan.  I have tried repeatedly to resolve this problem since I purchased the board....no success much frustration!
Attached Devices: HD's IBM-DTLA-307015, WDC WD400BB-AUA1; Display MSI GeForce4 MX/440; IDE DVD ROM 16X; Optorite CD/RW 4802; Voyetra Santa Cruz audio card; Lexmark X63 all-in-one printer; Linksys Ethernet adapter.
If anyone has a point by point solution please advise!!

The only other thing you might try is to barebones the system, just a video card , the ram and a harddrive attached, and try to boot then. If the system boots then, you have a conflict with a piece of hardware.you proceed ,adding one piece at a time, until you find whats causing the problem. Sometimes audio cards or Nic cards can cause problems.and sometimes just by switching the slots they are located in, can help. Good Luck BD.51  :D

  • 1.25 167 MHZ processor upgrade for a dual 867 133 MHz bus

Having upgraded my MDD with a dual 1.25 processor, I am left with a single 1.25 processor at 167 MHZ bus. Can I use this to upgrade a dual 867 MHZ MDD? I know I won't get the original speed due to lower bus freq, but I'd like to use it anyway, especially if the heatsink fits.

Hi there, that's going to leave you with a single 1 GHz CPU vs. 2 867s, unless you also bump the speed multiplier, but...

  • Can FW800 133 MHz board from single 1 GHz machine take a dual processor?

I've read in more than one place that the logic board from the 1 GHz FW800 machine can't be used with ANY dual processor. Can anybody tell me with a reasonable degree of certainty whether this is true or not?
Please don't bother answering based on general principles. I already believe -- tell me if I'm wrong -- that every other MDD FW400 or FW800 board CAN take a dual processor and, except for this question, EVERY processor will work EITHER with EVERY 133 MHz board OR with EVERY 167 MHz board.

From my experience the processor card should be compatible, but don't hang me if I'm wrong.
This page showes how to set different multipliers = bus ratios.
So, according to the default multipliers for the MDDs, you get:
    6.5x 133 MHz bus = 864.5 MHz CPU (867 MHz)
    6.0x 166 MHz bus = 996 MHz CPU (1.0 GHz)
    7.5x 166 MHz bus = 1,245 MHz CPU (1.25 GHz)
Thus, if you put a Dual 1.0 GHz onto a 133 MHz board, you'd get not 1.0 GHz but 800 MHz instead (798 MHz to be exact). The same goes for the 1.25 GHz where you'd get 1.0 GHz (997.5 MHz), and for the 1.42 GHz where it'd be 1,1 GHz (1130 MHz, multiplier 8.5x).
    6.0x 133 MHz bus = 798.0 MHz CPU (1.0 GHz → 800 MHz)
    7.5x 133 MHz bus = 997.5 MHz CPU (1.25 GHz → 1.0 GHz)
    8.5x 133 MHz bus = 1,130 MHz CPU (1.42 GHz → 1.1 GHz)
So, if you alter the bus speed of the board (see here, link is from the xlr8yourmac page linked above) you will be able to use the Dual processors for the 166 MHz bus on your 133 MHz board, then overclocked to 166 MHz, at their designed speeds. If you don't what to change the boards system bus speed the processors will just be underclocked, thus run slower – with all the advantages like less power consumption and less heat emission together with a prolonged lifetime.
To fit the 133 MHz system bus you would have to change the multipliers on the processor daughter card to run at the processors native speeds.
    Just one example:
    1,000 MHz / 133 MHz = 7.5x
So, if you'd want to run a Dual 1.0 GHz processor on a 133 MHz system board you'd have to alter the multiplier from 6.0x (for the original 166 MHz system bus) to 7.5x (for your 133 MHz system bus) – the resistors to change the multiplier reside on the processor daughter board.
That said, keep in mind that this procedure is *NOT tested or confimed*, but it seems logical, doesn't it?
I had a OWC Mercury Extreme 1.4 GHz processor upgrade placed in a Gigabit Ethernet replaced into a Quicksilver (2001 version). As you can see here, it had set the multiplier to 14x to have it run at 1.4 GHz on the Gigabith Ethernet (100 MHz system bus) and I had to set the jumpers to a multiplier of 10.5x for the Quicksilver (133 MHz system bus).
Thus, if I had put the OWC Mercury Extreme running at 1.4 GHz in the 133 MHz bus Quicksilver unmodified back into the 100 MHz bus Gigabit Ethernet, it would run at 1050 MHz (roughly 1.0 GHz).
That's it. There wouldn't be more to it than that, but the latter source (for changing the motherboards system bus speed) states that Apple put in some protection on the processor daughter card to prevent increase in system bus speed if no dual processor is present. Since this doesn't apply to you as you stick to your 133 MHz system bus it shouldn't bother you.
*But don't blame me* if it should turn out to be completely wrong!
    Cheers,
    Andreas.

  • ?( KT3 UKTRA2: FSB cannot run above 133 Mhz :( !!!

    Hi all,
I am new to this overclocking thing; so please be patient with me.
I can't set my FSB to anything above 133 Mhz in BIOS - when I try to change it to 166 Mhz, my system does not boot up. So I have to reset the CMOS jumper, to enable my system to boot. Why is my FSB at default of 133 Mhz? What is this FSB & how does it affect my performance? Should my mainboard operate at 166Mhz FSB ? Can I try 333 Mhz ?
I also notice that when my PC  boots up; it stats DRAM = 266Mhz. Does this reflect my own DDR RAM? If I were to use a 333Mhz will it show DRAM = 333Mhz ?
Please advise. This is extremely disheartening.
    My signature is my specs.
     ?(

You can't set your cpu to run at 166 fsb because that would be a huge overclock, your cpu is set to run at 12x133 (1600mhz).  Setting the FSB to run at 166 would mean your cpu would now run at 12x166 or approximately 2000mhz, or the equivalent of the 2400+ CPU.
Secondly, your ram wouldn't hold because to run at a 166fsb, you would need PC2700 or DDR 333.  The memory speed has to run at the speed of the fsb (at least, no less than) so you couldn't run your DDR 266 at 333 unless you have some high quality ram.
You can set your ram to run at 333 and your cpu to run at 133mhz (266DDR, 133x2).   It should be in the "Advanced controls -> DRAM settings" in your bios.  Not quite the same wording but it's pretty close.
That board is spec'd to run fine at 333fsb, you just need to either unlock your CPU so you can lower the multiplier and raise the fsb, or get a 333fsb CPU like the 2600+ or the 2700+.  You might want to think about getting PC2700 if you're going to overclock from where you are now, or PC3200.

  • CPU always at 2001 mhz

Is something wrong with my comp if my AMD 64 3000 cpu is always at 2001 mhz, its not changing on the core center utility?

Nothing is wrong at all. That is a normal situation. Keep in mind that a system clock is not an exact 200Mhz. It could be 200.1Mhz or something and still be withing normal limits.

  • I cant install drivers for AMD Radeon HD 8750 M on a G500 i7-3612QM CPU@2.1Ghz Lenovo.

    Hi.
    I bought recently a Lenovo G500 i7-3612QM [email protected],
    4GB ram,
    Windows 7 Ultimate,
    Service pack 1,
    64-bit Operating System and
AMD Radeon HD 8750M graphics Card.
I follwed many of the discussions for this card but without results.
I unistalled from device manager the card driver.
I unistalled all the previous ATI and AMD installations and
then I installed again avga110w7 driver.
But allways with the same message at the device manager "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
Now the laptop works with Standard VGA Graphics adapter.
What can I do for make work the card?
    Why is it so difficult?
    Can anybody help me?
    Thank you.
    John.

    Hi John,
As the application is not using the GPU, I suggest you to uninstall AMD Driver under Device Manager and make sure to put a check on the prompt asking to delete driver software. Then Check under Control Panel / Programs and Features / Uninstall any Catalyst or AMD Graphics Components.
Now install the AMD driver in the computer and then check if the same is displayed in the Device Manager, below is the link to download the driver. Then add the application using the catalyst control center as displayed in the below image.
AMD Video Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)

    Hope this helps!!!
Do post us back if the issue still persists.

  • 3000+ 400 Mhz Bus Speed

May sound like a stupid question, but why is there a 3000 as a 333MHz chip and also a 400MHz chip?
And if its just about backwards compatibility then what's with the £20 price difference.

yeah I guess that makes sense

  • High CPU usage when graphics card is put at work

I have a 13inch Air with 2GB RAM and 256GB  with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. All possible updates have been installed.
I noticed some tearing when trying to move program windows across the screen so I started checking the CPU usage. I saw that it is spiking to 25-35% when moving a window across the screen. When you drag down a window you can see the different copies of the top bar across the screen. Not smooth at all like on a standard PC windows system. Same issue when scrolling through webpages which spikes the cpu
I also noticed a high cpu usage when playing mkv files 25-30% while on an Atom HTPC i get a lower load playing the same file. The Air should be faster than an atom with a nvidia 9400m when playing video files.
I already tried updating the nvidia files to the latest version on their site by hacking the driver inf but this did not resolve the issue.
Has anyone experienced the same or know what could be causing the beavior?
    Many thanks

Maybe my initial post was not clear so let me add some clarifications.
I have the problem with Aero disabled
I have the problem on the Apple site which does not have any flash content.
I have already hacked the lastest nvidia drivers to get them on my system which did not change anything. Can you provide a link to some other 'supported' beta drivers?
I am using the new 13 inch air so it has the newer graphics card so I would expect it to be faster than an old HTPC with a 9400m in it. I wasn't stating that my Air had a 9400m.
It would be great if someone you also do the test to check the cpu load:
    - when playing a 720 mkv
    - when dragging a window across the screen
Just open task manager and see if the CPU spikes.
    Many thanks!

  • Calc Mgr - 11.1.1.3.05  -  Migrating Bus Rules not working

    Hi,
I'm trying to migrate Bus Rules from one environment to another. I did the extracts of the artifacts on the source system. Copied the files to the target system i the correct user directory. When i go through migration, I select all the Bus Rules to migrate. It says completed. I then log into target system Calc Mgr and the BR's are not showing up under each app. I have refreshed numerous times and even logged in/out and still nothing. I have done this probably 100 times with no issues until now. I also tried restarting all the services etc...
    stumped :(

When our Calc Manager Rules disappeared, it was because HSP_CALC_MGR_RULES was not storing the rules properly in SQL Server.
The impacted part of the BODY field was <ruleid="0" name"">. The ruleid should be equal to the ID field, and the name should not be null.
We had a similar issue with disappearing variables in HSP_CALC_MGR_VARIABLES.
We ended up having to apply a patch to clean this up. Once we had to restore the tables and restart services.
I know this is not a solution, and I apologize for that, but hopefully it will give you an idea of where to start looking.
    Good Luck,
    Tim

  • Macbook pro 2010: does a 1333 mHz RAM (mac 2011)work also in a macbook pro 2010 (1033 mHz RAM)?

And an other question: putting 8 giga 1333 mHz instead of 4 giga 1033 will increase too much battery consumption?
    thanks for your answers

Mac's are very picky about RAM, thus it is advised that you only use RAM spec'd for your machine. While the 1333 may or may not work, you won't receive the benefit of the increased speed, as your machine will default to the lower speed. Yes, more memory means more battery usage, heat, etc. More memory will not speed up your computer. The real benefit to more memory is the ability to run more applications at the same time.
