Up date iPhone 4

I have an iPhone 4 using iOS 7.2.1. Every time I look for updates, it says "This software is up to date". A friend of mine with the same type, has already up graded to iOS 8. Would you help me answering my anxieties?

The only way to track an iPhone is through Find My iPhone. If he had access to the apple id/icloud account he could just log into find my iphone and track the phone but if he does not have access to that information he wouldnt be able to track her.

Voice over Data iPhone 5s?

Hello I'm using an iPhone 5s(global version) A1530, and whenever I make a call I can't use data. 3G service is active. Whenever I get a call the 3G service gets disconnected and no data. Any idea whats going on? I'm using it in Sri Lanka and carrier Mobitel. Does the carrier affect this kind of a thing?

Are you sure you're backing up your photos and not importing them to your computer?
If you're backing up to iTunes, then the app data is part of the backup.

Transferring saved game data iPhone to iPad

I browsed around to see if this has been asked, but a lot of the threads were older and didn't pertain to my devices.
I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 both not jail-broken. I had a game called My Town 2 on both that I could use back and forth whenever I wanted to, and it let me play the exact same game without starting a new one on the other. Which was nice to do when I was out and about, since my iPad only connects with a wifi connection.
Yesterday I idiotically deleted the game from the iPad, and when I went to re-install it, it started from scratch, I do however still have the same game and my progress on the iPhone.
I checked around to find ways to transfer the game and its data from the iPhone to iPad. So far iExplorer didn't work, ifunbox seems easier to navigate but I don't know what to look for or where to save it. Phone Disk needs to be purchased and iTunes requires you to restore. There's got to be a way right?
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

If the game was syncing your progress between devices, it should continue to do so once you have the game properly installed and registered on your iPad again. You might need to "log in" or otherwise let the game's server know that it's you and your account on that device.
You might care to contact the developer of the game for advice. I doubt your the first one of their customers to encounter this issue.

Organizing photo library by picture date (iPhone 3G)

When ever I sync a folder into my iPhones photo library it automatically organizes the pictures by name. Is there a way the change this so it is organized by picture date instead.

If they are folder titles then you can drag each folder into the open iPhoto application window to create a new roll with the same name as the folder.
You can also select specific photos in the main library window and use the File->Create Film Roll menu option to create a new roll containing just those photos. (You must be in the main library for that menu option to be active).
Terence's recommendation of Smart Albums is a good way of grouping photos with similar attributes, keywords, date or date range, file name or partial file name, title or partial title, etc.
You can use multiple keywords on one file like John, Joan, jane, etc. then you can find all photo associated with one or all of those keywords keywords by clicking or option-clicking on more than one of those keywords in the Keyword pane.
You can create a test library, import couple of folders into it and then test out the various ways to organize your photos before applying them to your primary library.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

View text messages by date iPhone

Hi, I have an iphone 4 (not 4s) my phone company is chargin me an incredible high number of text messages while I was out of the country, that was 2 months ago. I want to know if there is a way to look for messages by date and not by person I texted, because I really dont remember who do I texted or if I really texted, so I been looking around all my messages for about 2 weeks but I have lots and lots of friends so it is impossible.
Please help, how can I see messages sent and received from a specific date?

Phone company said that I was using roaming to texted so all the numbers I texted appears with the country operator numer, for example all my text messages appears like 5205280000458 as you may notice thats not an US number, is the Dominican Republic operator No. so there is no way I can "guess" who I texted, thats why I need to see my store messages by date.

Hi, I always have problem with my phone. I try to sync it with my Mac but I does not sync anymore. It goes througt the steps, but always stops at the end; and the stage in itunes says, Syncing Genius Data to " iphone " ( step 7 of 7) and then the message: Waiting for items to copy.
After running for an hour or so, I disconnect to use the phone, the phone works but a lot of things are not synced such as new photos.
appriciate any help on this

Mine does this too. My only working solution is to reset the phone to factory setting and setting it up again. I have had to do that several time.
No help availble on this board, nobody seems to have a clue

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

My iPhone 3GS won't isn't recognizable after updating to iOS 6.0.1. I have a MacBook and an iMac. Both are also up to date. iPhone 3GS turns on, and charges from wall. Does not get recognized by either computer. Help!

My iPhone 3GS has worked like a charm. I stupidly agreed to do the software update today, and now both of my computers ignore it. Both computers are Mac. Both are updated. This is extremely frustrating, since I need my phone today for work purposes, and since I can't add music to it...it's basically useless. I use it as an MP3 player to play music during wedding Cocktail Hours.

Entity "A" has only one object.
To save memory and not to load the complete tree objects, I need a
fetch for e.g. to get a "B" object with bVal=5 and a "C" object with
cVal=10 and all the "D" objects belonging to this "C" object.
What is the best way to do this?

Update: I modified the above code so that the fetch (and looppool etc.) take place when a timer fires. This means that the fetches aren't blocked in viewDidLoad.

Iphone 5 insane data usage

I have had an iPhone on AT&T since launch. I never went over a gig in any month. I have used half a gig in 2 days with Verizon!! Worse, it uses LTE while I am at home with a rock solid wifi connection. If I turn cellular off altogether I can still see, for example, a YouTube video. But if I leave it on, while still connected with wifi, it ***** data like a vampire. I don't stream video, use Itunes match, pandora, etc.
A single view of a regular web page--say, NY Times, will register as 15mb!!!
And, all day, it leaks data even with no apps running!
I spent over 4 hours on the phone with Verizon. I called today to check the status of this problem, and found that they had not even opened a ticket!!
They have assured me that I will not be charged for any overages, but this is a huge problem. My wife's ATT Iphone 5 has used maybe 100 mb in the same period, which would be completely consistent with our usage.
So far, nobody at Verizon has said a peep, but this is all over the place:

Will Verizon acknowledge the problem and what is being done? There are going to be a lot of shocked people when the bills come out! This is a billion dollar plus problem, and I hope that they start to take it seriously.

Fix appears to have worked for me, maybe, knock on wood. I've been going back and forth with support, I don't recommend it unless you take sedatives beforehand. First time I looked about a week ago, 7 days into using my new i5, I had a gig, with me being home on wireless almost the entire time. Also I don't do movies or stuff like that, in the past couple years my monthly average has been about 300mb. So I contacted them and pointed that out, phone was new, no movies, on wireless, phone itself reported 180mb. I got a response that I must have an app running in the background. I decided it wasn't worth it to try to get through their boilerplate responses since I had 1 gig and my limit was 2. Then it jumped up again, can't remember how much. Support: must be an app running in the background. So I left it again.Then a couple days later I got, in succession in 30 seconds, text warnings for 75%, 90%, and then over. So I went and looked, as I had been every few hours, according to them I had used 3.5 gigs in 6 hours. I went back to them again, with all the same info plus the latest event, this time I got "it seems like something might be wrong." I'm sitting on that message wondering how it is their support could not have taped to their foreheads knowledge of the bug. Where is the "we are aware of the problem." Anyway, since the fix 2 days ago my use has been pegged at at almost 5gb, not moved. Now I have to go look because who knows.

Is there anyway to pull the data from an iPhone/iTunes backup file so it can be read and imported into a DROID phone. Have a customer with a dead iPhone and they went out and purchased a DROID as a replacement and would like all their contacts to be imported into the DRIOD. Is there any software out there that can do this?

There may well be others of better value. Google is your friend.
You'll probably need to do something with the data you can extract, like add it to Outlook, rather than being able to send it directly to the driod.

Upgrade to iphone 4 or 5!

hi i just want to know if i should get the iPhone 4 for right now or when the new iPhone 5 comes out. i've heard that the new one is coming out in June and then others say that it's getting pushed back to later in the summer so i don't know what to do. i really want the iPhone right now, but if i get the iPhone 4 now, i won't be able to get an upgrade again until 2013 and missing out on an up to date iPhone. my upgrade is not until Sept., but i can use one of my family member's line to upgrade since it's transferrable in the family plan. What do you guys think?

I used to do 1-year contracts (which is also now gone), but I'd do a 2-year to lock in unlimited data, as long as its a good phone. If they announced the end tommorow, I don't think I'd want any of the current crop of Android. They are either old or the T-Bolt which appears to have a huge downside in its battery life and size IMO. Unfortunately we are also running out of options as far as carriers.

Sign out on the iPhone
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

ITunes 10.7(21) freezes when iPhone 4 (iOS 6) plugged in

Hello,
Since the latest iTunes update to 10.7, I can no longer plug in my iPhone, iPod without iTunes freezing. iTunes stops responding, and the only way to get out of it is to force quit.
This occurs accross two 21" iMacs, one running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and one running Lion. All iDevices are up to date. iPhone 4 running iOS 6. It's an older iPod shuffle, but it worked and sync'd just fine up until the latest iTunes update.

When I try to sync my iphone 4s to itunes on my windows 7 computer, it pops up with an error message saying " itunes cannot read the contents of iphone, go to summary tab and restore to factory settings", I have the most up to date version of itunes and up to date iphone software, any ideas??

It is not iTunes software. It is your computer, or the way your USB is configured or connected. iTunes is intermittently losing the USB connection. Your analysis that it is not the devices is reasonable, so look to the common components. Possible causes:
You have a bad cable
You are using a USB hub, not connecting directly to a USB port on the the computer. If the hub has its own power source it is probably OK, but if not this would definitely cause the symptom you see.
If your computer is not a laptop you are using a port on the front rather than the back of the computer (front ports are usually an internal, unpowered hub).
You have USB devices connected that use either a lot of power or have high data transfer rates (such as USB external drives). Try disconnecting all USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
When you uninstalled iTunes to try to resolve the issue you did not use Apple's detailed procedure, and thus did not remove the drivers (see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925)
You have the wrong version of iTunes (e.g., 32 vs 64 bit)
