Up to date program! How long? (manually checking way)

I submitted all my information expecting the download code within the next 24 hours like they said. But it has been three days and I don't mean to be impatient, but how long should it take? I hear most people getting their first email really soon after they submit their info, but I have not gotten any word. I also did the longer way, where you send a proof of purchase picture... should that make it take any longer?
Should I just try resending all the information through the apple online store? (faster method I believe) Or would I just get in trouble for using my serial number twice?

it took me 5 business days, as well as a sat & sun to receive mine.  you'll get 2 emails.  one with a zip file for you to get the code, and another with a password to open the zip.  it was beyond frustrating having to wait for this to come in.
hang in there.  you'll need your patience to learn all the new hand gestures.  my main gripe so far is i prefer using google chrome as my browser.  the gestures for chrome were eliminated and only work in safari, of which i don't care for.
other than that, it is what it is.
good luck!

If you can't remember your passcode, you'll need to restore your phone.  If you never synched to iTunes, all data on your phone will be erased.  No way around this.

  • IMac 1TB Seagate Hard Drive Replacement Program - how long does it take?

I started a new thread for this issue since the original thread has degenerated into a rant. I just got my love letter from Apple informing me that my new 27" iMac has the bad drive. I backup to an external USB drive using Time Machine, and I am planning to have my nearest Apple store replace the drive sometime in the next few weeks.
I am posting to ask if anyone has yet contacted Apple about this issue? I am curious how long it takes to swap the drives. Can it be done while you wait? Does Apple have any ability to clone the old drive's data to the new? Has anyone been able to arrange for in-home service as mentioned in the original thread?
Please don't use this new thread to rant about the problem. If you need to let off steam, please post to the original thread.
    Thanks for the help!

Greetings from an apple mac newbie in UK. On the one hand, after getting the email today I was disappointed to find my brand new shiny mac 21.5 might have a fault on hard drive, on the other at least apple points it out! But doubly frustrating for someone that has just taken the plunge and converted from pc/microsoft rubbish after two decades and still finding my feet in macworld....and who upgraded to OS X lion this past weekend without a hitch (nervous as an XP SP2/SP3 veteran)...and had to pay for Lion because I bought my imac just a week to early to qualify for free Lion upgrade.
My decision on Hard drive is to wait and see, firstly to guage experience of apple turn around times/customer experience etc in UK and secondly because I would like to understand what kind of percentage of the seagate drives are faulty...I am backing up with time machine, the machine is under warranty and applecare too, so maybe no need to rush, there's a year yet at least.
Another consideration for me is that I bought my mac with dual drives -  the 1TB Harddrive for data and the 256SSD for OSX/apps...idea was to keep the programs on the ssd as it is fastest and is best with less rewrites, the conventional hard drive then used for big data stuff like docs, music and photos. This needed a bit of custom set up involving apple support to get the right things on the right drives, so am in no hurry to muck that up!
PS does anyone else in the UK have my mac dual drive  configuration...?

  • New MacPro - Transferring data takes HOW long?

Just unpacked the Mac Pro and doing the firewire transfer of data from my old computer (G4). I've done this process before a few times when upgrading my Apple laptops, so I was expecting a simple proceedure. The Firewire connection gets established, I check to transfer all, the transferring Information screen comes up, and then it just sits there, the progress bar completely blank. For 12 hours! I checked the connection, restarted both Macs several times and it still sits there for a few hours at a time doing nothing. What could be the problem?

Thans for the Help. I ended up starting the new machine by itself, name myself user names etc., and found it needed a few system updates. Once done I was able to do the migration from the old computer. But then I had to delete that other accoiunt name etc - a little messier but all is well now. I wish there had been a note somewhere that says something like: "this new computer may ship with an older version of the OS, please update before migrating". Would have saved me a few days.

  • How to manually check for iOS updates

    HI
My iPad is running 4.3.3 and I want to update to iOS 5, but there isn't a check for update button, there is only an update button which allows me to only update to 4.3.5
I believe it is about 4 hrs after when iOS 5 should be released but correct me if I'm wrong.
    What can i do??

    Ok it has released now.
But i tried again and it only tells me to update to 4.3.5 (i dont want to do that, file is too large )
So what should I do now??
    Thx in advance

  • Out of date packages, how long?

Hello all. I've a question about flagging the packages out-of-date. I can mark a package out-of-date, but what happenes if the package is not updated for 2 months or more? May be after some period of time maintainer should be changed?
    (now it's all about eclipse).

I just wanted to know if there is any deadline to drop the package from this maintainer?
I am sure there is. I would still recommend emailing the maintainer. If you get no reply, or one stating he is not going to maintain anymore, make a post to the arch-dev-public mailing list to let them know and request a new maintainer.
Most of the devs do not participate in the forums so the mail list is the best way to reach them.

  • How long can the data in PSA be kept?

    Hello all,
If a PSA is used for data staging, how long can/should the data be kept in it in a real-time scenario?
Your help will be very much appreciated,
    points will be awarded too.
    Thanks
    S N

    HI ,
It always depends on the Frequency of data load and the retention of the data in the system . Ideally we only keep 2 days of data in PSA in case of full load and then keep all the delta loads in the PSA including the Intialization Request in the PSA , so that any problem occurs we can load the data from PSA .
But before all that u need to diccuss with ur basis team regarding space or table space . And according to that u need to keep the requests in System.
    Assign points if it helps....
    Regards,
    Vijay

  • How long is the "OS X Mountain Lion Up-To-Date Program" response time?

I submitted the information about my recently purchased laptop to the uptodate page http://www.apple.com/ca/osx/uptodate/ earlier in the day but haven't recieved any notifications (not even an email saying that the information has been recieved). I've heard that other people have gotten codes so I assume it shouldn't take this long. Should I just resubmit again?

Thanks. Is it odd that I haven't recieved any sort of confirmation email to indicate that the request is pending, or is one not sent out?
Servers are slammed.  Your email is the least of the problems.

  • How long does the mountain lion up to date program take to send codes?

I submitted a request on Saturday evening, and as of Tuesday I have not heard anything from Apple about it. Does anyone have any suggestions who I should contact or how long it normally takes?
    Thanks

You should have received it by now, call apple care @ 800-275-2273 they will resend your codes.  I had to do this too.

The iOS settings for the iPhone 3 never had an option to determine how long you wanted to save messages. That settings is new to iOS8. As far as some being deleted, there is nothing about the phone that should delete messages without some user intervention. Try a reset on the phone, this will not affect your data. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.

  • How long does it take for bridge data purchase to be available

I used up all my data on my AllSet plan, so I purchased 1GB of bridge data yesterday.  I got the text message saying "Congratulations! 1GB of Data has been added to your account.  This data is held in reserve and will become active when your current data is used".
    I've got two questions.
    1) Is there anywhere on My Verizon (verizonwireless.com) to see this data or purchase history?
    2) How long before it is available on my account?  I still have no data access on my phone.

You might want to check your bank account to make sure it went through. I did it twice and received confirmation text on both but neither one went through on my bank account. I called tech support and was hung up on by the first cs rep, second time I talked to Lawrence and he helped me. Lawrence did a great job, thank you! Hope this helps.

  • I am using a WD external hard drive for backing up my laptop with Time Machine, but I have to do it manually. How do I know when it has finished the back up? How long should it take?

I am using an external WD hard drive for backing up my laptop. I have to do it manually, so I can't set Time Machine to just do it for me. How do I know when it is done backing up? How long should this take?

Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
    tmutil compare -E
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
The command will take at least a few minutes to run. Eventually some lines of output will appear below what you entered.
Each line that begins with a plus sign (“+”) represents a file that has been added to the source volume since the last snapshot was taken. These files have not been backed up yet.
Each line that begins with an exclamation point (“!”) represents a file that has changed on the source volume. These files have been backed up, but not in their present state.
Each line that begins with a minus sign (“-“) represents a file that has been removed from the source volume.
At the end of the output, you’ll get some lines like the following:
    Added:
    Removed:
    Changed:
These lines show the total amount of data added, removed, or changed on the source(s) since the last snapshot.

  • How long does it take to migrate mail data from snow leopard to lion. Waiting for hours

OK, so here I thought I was solving a calendar sync problem by updating my OS from 10.6.8 to 10.7.3. Initially unable to load the mail app, however this seemed to work after taking out the "envelope index" file as suggested in this forum. New mail program loaded, but now stuck with rolling blue and white candy bar on a window inside the "Mail Upgrade" window stating "migrating data ...".Thinking I might simply have a lot of data I waited 5 (!!) hours,... No change. I went back to Finder and once again removed the envelope index file as well as all files with a .plist extension. Again started mail, again stuck with the screen "migrating data". So my question: Do I just have to wait (and then for how long? Days?), or do I have to tweek my MacBook Pro a little to be able to once again read and write e-mail?
    Thanks

12 hours and did not finish. Still left with the message: migrating data. I cannot imagine what the program is doing.
So I force quit mail and cleaned up everything I know to clean up: went to folder "~/library/Mail" and deleted everything I thought was not needed. Emptied the trash. Now, of course, I have a fair amount of mails in different folders that are stored in the mail program. But from a total data amount point of view this should be trivial.
Restarted mail, get the screen: "Mail Message Import", click "Continue"
Then program successfully imports 4563 messages in less than 2 minutes.
Then - once again - rotating candy bar with message "migrating data ..."
There is no way to see what is actually happening and no way to stop the process other than force quit.
    Help!!!
