Up to how many devices can this one download be used for?

I have a iMac and a air and want now do have download this software twice or can I just buy it once and use it for both.

You can use it on as many Macs as you own with the same user ID. I would suggest to download it once and copy the installer BEFORE you hit install because it will self destruct after the install. Before install, you will find it in your Applications folder - copy it to a safe place and you can use it again (instead of having to download it again).

  • How many devices can sync simultaneously through iTunes?

I am looking to see how many devices can sync simultaneously through iTunes. I know that you can only restore one device at a time, but you can sync content to two devices at the same time. Is there a limit to how many devices can sync simultaneously? Thank you for your help!

Thanks. I wasn't aware that you could have multiple iOS devices connected via WiFi at once. That didn't seem to work the last time I knew of anybody trying it, but obviously it was their setup, not a general limitation.
    Regards.

  • TS4020 how many devices can use one icloud account

Is there a limit on to how many devices can use one icloud account

*GE TAG - Don't you just love how people in forums answer their own question rather than the one being asked.
Let me help those that have responded so far, and those still awaiting an answer.
An account for iCloud does also include log-ins for the iOS App Store / Mac App Store / iTunes Desktop Application , but an iCloud account on any device iOS / Mac / PC does not have to match the App Store / iTunes account which certainly has its account login limitations per device as has been pointed out.
What seems to be ommitted is if there is a limit to an iCloud account per X number of devices.
In my estimation there appears to be no limitation for iCloud accounts per device. I say this only with the experience of having my own iCloud account on a MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, iMac, Apple TV Gen2, Apple TV Gen3, iPhone 5S, and an iPad Mini Gen 1.
That is 7 separate devices. Never once have I been prompted about a limit when setting up my iCloud account (which constitues Contacts / Calendar / Notes / Reminders / Documents in the Cloud / Keychain / and Photo Stream and not purchased content through App / iTunes "stores" which do give such prompting upon authorizing your respective device for being able to use / sync said purchases)
I've really only come to this realizatoin upon thinking this through after reading this thread. I was actually searching for this answer myself until now. If I'm wrong I will welcome a rebutal with proof.

  • How many devices can sync to one apple ID?

How many devices can sync to one apple ID?  I need to get all my music from an old computer to my new computer.  I just purchased an album on my new computer and it's not syncing with my iPhone 5 and I don't want to pay $25 for the Cloud.

You can sync as many idevices as you like to one computer/library
The iphone will sync with one and only one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content fro the iphone.

  • HT1495 how many devices can be on one itunes account

How many devices can be on one itunes account ? Is there a maximum

For syncing iPods and iOS devices, there's no limit.
For iTunes Store authorization, the limit is 5 computers.
For iTunes Match, the limit is 10 computers and iOS devices.

How many devices can I have connected to one iTunes account?

If you mean authorized computers, five.
If you mean devices associated with iTunes Match or automatic downloads, ten.
If you mean devices synced with a single iTunes library, there’s no limit.

Please explain how one would accomplish that feat.
There's not much to explain. When a device is connected, you see the row of different categories across the top: Summary, Info, Apps, Tones, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, Books, and Photos. For example, it is perfectly safe to sync one iOS device to the Music category on Computer A and no other computer, and the same device to Photos on Computer B and no other computer.
You might be confusing what I'm saying with one iOS device enabling sync to the Music library on multiple computers. That is a huge no-no and will result in the disaster being suggested. But I am not talking about that, I'm talking about the opposite arrangement. What I am describing preserves category exclusivity. It turns out that exclusivity at the category level, not the computer level, is what really matters.
As long as a device is synced to a given category on only one computer, it doesn't matter which computer it is or whether that computer is different than the ones synced to on other categories. The instant a given category is enabled for syncing on more than on computer, that is where the trouble starts.

Trying to do so is asking for trouble. Don't do it. Move the content you need to one machine and sync only with that machine. If you don't, you'll be back here asking how to fix the mess and recover all the stuff you lost...
I will agree that it is something you should only do mindfully. But if you do make sure each category is syncing to only one device, there will be no data loss and no mess.

how many devices can i run lion on it?

As far as licensing goes, it seems that as long as all the Macs are being used in your household, there's no limit.
    From the Lion license file:
"If you obtained a license for the Apple Software from the Mac App Store, then subject to the terms and conditions of this License and as permitted by the Mac App Store Usage Rules set forth in the App Store Terms and Conditions (http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/ww/) (“Usage Rules”), you are granted a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license:
    i) to download, install, use and run for personal, non-commercial use, one (1) copy of the Apple Software directly on each Apple-branded computer running Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server (“Mac Computer”) that you own or control."

  • How many devices can I link to my I-cloud/I-match account?

I have an I-cloud and I-match account with all my music on, most of which consists of my own cd's copied onto it.  I've just bought my mum an iPod nano 6th generation for her birthday and I want to put some music onto it for her so it's all ready to go.  I'm aware I can't put music I bought from I-tunes onto her device but can I copy my copied cd collection onto it for her?  I have 4 Apple devices already linked to my account.
I'll be copying from a MacBook Pro to her device, then the rest of the time her downloads will be added on a Windows PC.  Is this possible/legal?  How many devices can you link to one iTunes account?
    Many thanks.

    For the main question:  http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/.
You can authorize up to 10 devices on iTunes Match.
An iPod nano is not a device that works with iTunes Match so any music you put in it will have to go through itunes. Which means yes, you can put music you've bought from itunes on her device, as well as your imported music. That iPod won't count as one of the 10 devices either because it will not be using iTunes Match.
Your plan might not go so smoothly if you plan on synchronizing the ipod to two different libraries.  You'd be safer importing any music you want to share with her from your library to her computer either by downloading with your own Apple ID or through another media (DVD,  external HD...) and authorizing.  And yes, this is legal, but you may only authorize a limited number of computers with your Apple ID:   http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

  • I'm a school tech coordinator. Many computers and many iPads. How many Apple IDs can I have per device, and how many devices can have the same Apple ID? To make my life easier, I'd like 200 devices to all use the same Apple ID.

I'm a school tech coordinator. I have many computers and many iPads. I apologize if there is a some place that has all the rules governing the use of Apple IDs. I looked, and I even tried to get the answers from multiple Apple rep's. I couldn't find the answers.
How many Apple IDs can I have per device?
I want to use the same computer to sync and backup many iOS devices. The iOS devices would be associated with different Apple IDs.
I may load apps under a school Apple ID and have users load their own apps under thier own ID.
How many devices can have the same Apple ID?
Can I use the same Apple ID on all the computers in a lab?
Can I use the same Apple ID on all iPads for a particular grade level?
Are the rules different for iOS devices and computers?
I know that there are limits on "authorize" and "de-authorize" and how frequently those things can be done.
Recently I heard that for the life of an iOS device, it can only be associated with five Apple IDs. That is not good for a school giving iPads to students in a 1:1
To make my life easier, I'd like 200 devices to all use the same Apple ID.

  • How many devices can you have on 1 icloud account

how many devices can you have on 1 icloud accout?

It's unusual for a whole family to use the same icloud account, since that way everyone gets the same emails, contacts, calenders, etc.  All it takes is one family member to delete a contact by mistake and then it will be deleted from everyone's devices.  Not good.  The usual advice is for every individual to have their own icloud account.
The iTunes store is another issue - everyone can use the same Apple ID to access the same itunes account to download music, apps, etc. without everyone having to buy the items multiple times.
