Upcoming Build Update

Hi all,
I am loving experimenting with the Tech Preview and I'm sure all you readers are too!
I few days back I read about a new upcoming build for Tech Preview "Coming Soon"!
How soon is "Coming Soon"?
Am I the only one who is impatient? :P

Aren't we supposed to just expect these things to show up via Windows Update?
-Noel
Detailed how-to in my eBooks:
Configure The Windows 7 "To Work" Options
Configure The Windows 8 "To Work" Options
Noel,
Ok, a suggestion...
That if talking about Windows 10 (Final) to @ least, Windows 8.1 Users, maybe OR
maybe, via Store.  BUT, as long as talking Builds (different Build #s), NO.... Unless, updates specifically for Win10... but, suggest will be new & different ISOs for / with each next Build # (updates); as opposed to pushed out via WU.
But, guess we'll see, this time.  & obviously, I'm not sure, now that the question's arisen.
I've beta tested the last 3 OSs for Microsoft.  Accustomed to chucking one Build and moving on to the next; clean, new, separate, affairs... No more than any notion of 'updating' beta to RTM or GA.  Idea was upgrading
OS to OS... no beta involved.  Suggest Microsoft is updates w/in version #and to them, version change, an Upgrade.  Or maybe just semantics.
Anyway, just yacking.
Going to add a wee bit... (sorrwy)
If there is a base, a foundation, can build on top of it.    Update
IF there is a base, that, certainly has things built upon it, which can increase & or change ('forward')
Change 'under' what's, already, on the base, then, the Build changed and 'on top' starts anew.
Maybe that makes sense... wording sometimes...
Oh, yeah & sure said, yet, again by me along w/ others...
Don't replace or overwrite running, current OSs w/ betas!!  DO NOT wipe out your 7 or 8.1 w/ Windows 10 betas, Preview Builds.
Cheers,
Drew

  • Is there any upcoming software updates for the version 10.5.8? Also how do I backup my mac?

    I really want to update my mac to the new version of Snow Leopard or Lion but to my understanding I must buy the disks to update it. However I feel like buying a macbook pro to my replace my mid-2009 white macbook, once I graduate so I could use it for college (which is 2 years from now and I'm saving up for it).
    Also how do I backup my mac (hardrive)? I'm quite lost. I'm told that I must use Time Machine, but how? Do I use a CD to back up? Some external drive and if yes where could I buy one?
    P.S. I'm a newbie with tech stuff. I'm no genius with it so I suggest to take it slow with me. PLUS there's no Apple Store here to help me out.
    My quetions in a nutshell:
    1) Upcoming software updates? *secretly wishes they were FREE*
    2) Backing up my hardrive?
    My Mac
      - Version 10.5.8 with a 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    The 2.13Ghz MacBook is a Mid 2009 model 5,2 http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook-core-2-duo-2.13-whit e-13-mid-2009-nvidia-specs.html
    There will be no updates for 10.5. it's been out of production for 3 years. You can order a Snow Leopard 10.6 install disk for $29 as long as you have at least 1gb of RAM and 5gb of free space on your hard drive.  http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
    You can upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.5 should run under10.6. See this list for compatibility with 10.6: http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/  You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any third party Power PC applications http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/
    To upgrade your iLife and iWork. If you only want iPhoto or other single apps from iLife '11 you can get them from the App Store after you've upgraded to 10.6.6. iPhoto, iMovie or Garage Band for $15 each and Pages, Keynote or Numbers from iWork '09 for $20 each.
    You can upgrade from 10.4 to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.4 should run under10.6.
    Once you are at 10.6.8 you can buy Lion for $29 from the App Store. Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly. As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.7 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
    Before Mac switched to Intel processors they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

  • Viewer Builder update issue

    This update process is just getting absolutely ridiculous. I am trying to get into the viewer builder. It tells me that my viewer builder is out of date and gives me a link to follow. I follow the link, download, install as I am instructed to. When I start the viewer builder after install I am told that my viewer builder is out of date. WHERE IS THE MOST RECENT VIEWER BUILDER? How is this productive and cutting edge? For the investment my company made in this product it should be a LOT easier to keep it up to date. PLEASE provide me a link to the most recent veiwer builder update so that I can move on with my work.

    This could be the issue as well. This is the notice that Adobe put on the forums. Upon login, older versions of Viewer Builder (versions 1.5.1 and older) contain a link to upgrade the Viewer Builder that point to the DPS Dashboard. You can download the latest version of Viewer Builder from the Dashboard only if you first delete the existing Viewer Builder from the Applications folder. You can also download the most current Viewer Builder from http://www.adobe.com/go/digpubsuite_vb_mac.
    This is exactly what you just told me. So if viewer builder versions 1.5.1 and older are being replaced with a new viewer, why is everything adobe links to taking me to Viewer-Builder-1.5.0-RC.dmg,
    Try clicking on any of the links and see.

  • How do we submit a new build/update to the stores?

    We have an active/live app that was previously done by an agency via their own server. We have terminated their service, and now via Adobe DPS, how do we submit a new build/update to the stores (instead of submitting as a new app)?
    We are new to Adobe DPS.

    - Download update from Adobe Site
    - Click to install
    - Opens package and performed some kind of install activity. There are no prompts and quickly finishes
    - No Viewer Builder installed.

  • Flash Builder Update to 4.6

    Will there be a Flash Builder Update from 4.5 to 4.6 via "Help->Search for Flash Builder Updates" or do I have to re-install manually?

    You can download the full installer  from Adobe.com. Please note: you must uninstall your previous version of Flash Builder 4.5 or 4.5.1 before installing 4.6.   By default the Flash Builder uninstall program will preserve your preferences and workspace so you can easily reimport them into Flash Builder 4.6.  If you require the standalone Flex 4.6 SDK, you can download the build from the Adobe opensource site.

  • Folio Builder update damaged

    I'm having trouble installing the Folio Building update. The message says "Install" is damage and can't be opened. You should eject the disk image.

  • Folio builder update issue

    Was prompted to update folio builder on my Windows 7 PC running InDesign CS5.5. Did so, restarted, launched InDesign and once again was prompted to access folio builder update. Tried it again, same result.
    Tried updating both folio producer and folio builder, got the same results.
    Still getting the prompt "A newer version of Folio Builder is available for download."
    Any ideas on steps to rectify?
    Thx

    I found a solution to my problem, which is kind of similar.  Hopefully this can help others who get the update folio builder request, even when its been updated.
    I found Indesign CS6 + Folio Builder has some type of glitch on my Windows 7 machine.  If the folio builder window is open when I open Indesign, it will close as soon as Indesign starts up.  When I open the Folio Builder panel it will always ask me to update the folio builder, even though it is fully updated.
    The solution for me, is to make sure the folio builder panel is always closed when I close down Indesign.  In this way when Indesign is opened, the folio builder panel does not open automatically.  I then wait for a few seconds after Indesign has fully opened.  Once it's fully open and ready to go, I open the folio builder panel and viola the folio builder panel opens correctly and I'm signed in.

  • Preview build update fails with 0x80070003

    Attempting to update the preview build form 9860 yields error 0x80070003.
    How do I update the preview build?

    Here is the link to download the latest (9879) build ISO.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso-update?os=win10
    Burn the ISO file to a bootable DVD, and use the DVD to do a clean install.
    Use the Windows7 USB?DVD Download Tool to burn the ISO file. Don't be concern about the words "Windows 7 ". It will work. I use it countless times on various ISO files.

  • Folio Builder update issues

    I have a Mac--trying to use Folio Builder and every time it says I need to update, so I do, and it reflects an update, but then I try to open the Folio Builder panel and it says yet again that I need to update. Please help!

    After several hours (4+) trying every combination described here and elsewhere, what ultimately worked was uninstalling ALL Adobe software and starting from scratch.
    1.  Uninstall any and all Adobe software:
    Adobe AIR
    Adobe Flash
    DPS App Builder
    Adobe Creative Cloud
    Adobe InDesign
    Adobe Photoshop
    Adobe Illustrator
    Previous downloads of installers
    Etc.
    2.  Clear all system and user caches, preferences, bootcaches, kextcache, etc.and reboot (whether necessary or not; just for good measure).
    3.  Run the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to confirm everything was removed.
    4.  Reboot (whether necessary or not; just for good measure).
    5.  Confirm no Adobe affiliated process is running in the Activity Monitor (or Task/Process Viewer in Windows).
    6.  Download a new clean installer for Adobe Creative Cloud.
    7.  Cross fingers.
    8.  Install Adobe InDesign.
    9.  Reboot (again, just because).
    10.  Install Adobe InDesign updates (which should download the necessary DPS tools too).
    After all this, the Folio Builder finally appeared and began working again for my computer.

  • Folio Builder Updates

    In CS6, Folio Builder says to run Updates, but when I do, everything is already up-to-date. What else can I check to get it working?

    Check if Updates are enabled or not for InDesign CS6 under Help. If “Updates” is grayed out then you need to enable them on this machine.
    To enable updates: Navigate to
    (Mac) “<Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/”
    (WIN) “C:\Program files\common files\adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\”, If in case it’s InDesign (64 bit), then "C:\Program files(x86)\common files\adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\"
    Open “AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat” file in TextEditor or Notepad and change <Suppressed>1</Suppressed> to <Suppressed>0</Suppressed>, or create one if it’s not there with below text and save it as AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat to above location.
         <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
             <Preferences>
                   <Suppressed>0</Suppressed>
             </Preferences>
    Try installing update again.

  • ColdFusion Builder Update 1 issue on Mac

    If you are running ColdFusion Builder Plugin inside Flash Builder 4 on Mac, and you check for updates and install CFB Update 1, make sure you close FB4 before installing the update.  If not, it will blow up your CFB plugin in FB4 and you'll have to reinstall CFB.
    Instead of using the check for CFB updates inside FB4/Eclipse,I had to:
    1) close FB4.
    2) Run Adobe Updater outside FB4
    3) Download CFBuilder Update 1 and install it.
    4) Then re-open FB4 again

    If you are running Panther, you already have that firmware update.  No iMac PowerPC can run 10.2 or later without the most current firmware on their system.

  • Command Builder Update Command Algorithm

    Dear Sirs,
    When setting the update command of a sqldataadapter control, I use the following syntax :
     Dim cbsql As SqlCommandBuilder
        cbsql = New SqlCommandBuilder(dataadapter)
    The generated update command  is a syntax of parametric variables.
    I would like to know what algorithm does the command builder use to generate the updatecommand.

    Why do you want to know?
    It's been a while since I've seen a better and more detailed explanation than msdn
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.sqlclient.sqlcommandbuilder(v=vs.110).aspx
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/tf579hcz(v=vs.110).aspx
    Loosely speaking you can think of it as taking each of the records that have changes and allocating the right command ready (to be applied later) for each of them.
    It looks at each record and decides if it's changed. Whether a record has been updated, added or deleted.
    If no command is provided, reflection is used (once) to build the sql for each of these.
    It  allocates the update sql to the updates, insert to the additions and update sql to the updates.
    The specific record to apply the change to is identified by primary key.  No primary key is a problem !
    If you wanted to take a look at the sql a command generated there are the various get... command methods.
    connection.Open();
    SqlCommandBuilder builder = new SqlCommandBuilder(adapter);
    DataSet dataSet = new DataSet();
    adapter.Fill(dataSet, tableName);
    SqlCommand cmd = builder.GetUpdateCommand();
    string aSQLstring = cmd.CommandText;
    Hope that helps.

  • Updated to 9860, ran sfc, now desktop shows 9841 but build update won't show 9860

    Title basically says it all.
    After some really wonky issues (which turned out to be a graphics driver) I tried running sfc /scannow.  This is not working well in the tech preview, always erroring out and unable to repair all files.
    However, I notice today that that beautiful notification window has been gone for a while and my desktop proudly says "Build 9841."  Odd.  Settings >Update and recovery > Preview builds.  "No new preview build found, please
    try again later."
    Am I in some twilit land with bits of both thanks to sfc?  How do I get 9860 back if it doesn't show in Preview Builds?

    Hi Inwoods,
    What is the current situation?
    Are we working with the Windows 10 9860 version by now?
    I suspect install.wim is the Windows 10 9841 recovery image, so when we refresh back, it will still be the 9841 version.
    And the Preview Build will keep showing No new preview build was found, please try again later.
    After the refresh, please logon and open regedit, then navigate to the following registry:
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability
     Default <value not set>
     BranchName = fbl_release
     ThresholdRiskLevel = low
    If there are any other values, delete it.
    Then under Applicability, there should be a key called
    RecoveredFrom, delete it also.
    After that, we should be able to download the 9860 build again.
    Best regards
