Upcoming events sidebar stuck at 'getting events'

I have several group wikis set up, with calendars, and the calendars seem to be working fine.
When I enabled the 'upcoming events' sidebar in the theme for the wikis, it shows up, but it always says 'getting events'. It never actually shows any upcoming events.
Since the calendar and it's permissions seem to be working as I would expect, I'm not sure where else to troubleshoot this problem.

Same here. been trying to fix for 3 days!
10.6.7 on intel x-server. tried migrating old data, tried scrapping everything and starting from scratch. interestingly I have fixed the issue with personal calendars but the group calendars do not work. I tried 'matching' ssl settings. tried wiping /Library/CalendarServer and /Library/Collaboration (where group cal's seem to be)
It seems group calendar support is falling through the cracks.

  • Upcoming Events in sidebar not reflecting correct time

I create an event on my wiki/group calendar. It shows up on the sidebar under Upcoming Events. When I place my cursor over the item listed under Upcoming Events, everything is correct except the time. The time is about 2-3 hours off. Any ideas?
    Thanks, Michele

I am having the same problem. If you click on the events in the sidebar, my time is about 5 hours off, but if you browse the calendar through the wiki server, the events are at the correct time on the weekly and daily grids. If you then click on the event in the grid, it gives you the incorrect time. I have confirmed this with Safari and Firefox as the browser.

  • "upcoming events" snippet/widget for iweb

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to create an upcoming events snippet for an iweb page. Here's what I would like to do: I am an athletic director and would I have entered all of my school's athletic contests into iCal. I would like to set up something in which iWeb can pull the events out of iCal (I have mobileme) into a "week at a glance" type of display on our athletics page (made with iweb). Ideally it would automatically update so that as events are completed, the next events would show up.
I know how to embed an iCal calendar into iWeb, but that is not the solution that I am looking for.

I don't know how to make an iCal calendar default to the week view automatically for all viewers. Each viewer has the option to select which view it would like. There is a possible way to do what you want. embed the calendar on a blank page in your site and remove it from the navbar. Set that calendar to the week view as seen in this demo page: iCal calendar
Then add an HTML snippet with iFrame code to the page you want it to show on and set the frame dimensions so that it just includes the calendar. The calendar is sort of tall and would take up an entire page. It can't be scaled.
One the other hand, you can embed a Google calendar, have the week view as the default view and scale in withd to to whatever size you'd like. An example is on this demo page: Google calendar.
The Google map is supposed to be able to display an iCal calendar (see the triangle to the right of Agenda at the top) but I've not been able to get it to work. IMO the Google map is the way to go and more than just you could update it if need be.

  • I used to have my upcoming events pop up in the right hand top corner of my screen, but since I upgraded my maverick, it has gone and I can't restore it  with the calendar help instructions

I used to have my upcoming events pop up in the right hand top corner of my screen. Since I upgraded my maverick, this function  is not longer working and I can't get it back with the calendar help instructions.
Anyone out there who can tell me how to get back my evnet alerts in the right top corner of my screen? it even had a snooze function!

Check System Preferences > Notifications and make sure the Calendar entry is set up as you wish.

  • Adding YouTube upcoming events to iCal

When I go to add an "Upcoming event" to "iCal" from YouTube, it will add the event to iCal, but the link to the YouTube video will be part of the event title.
Is this a bug, and/or is there a workaround so that the link to the YouTube video gets added to the url property of the iCal event so that I can simply click on the url to bring up the video.
    Thanks

I'm struggling with the same dilema too. Any know how to get Outlook calendars into iCal?

  • Wiki: Upcoming Events not populating

We have a team calendar associated with the wiki, written to both from the web view and from iCal.
However, no events appear in the Upcoming Events sidebar item in the wiki's homepage.
Any thoughts? I had that function working in a previous incarnation...

I still haven't solved this, but...
Other team sites work fine on the same server. Its this one team site, which, of course, is the most heavily used and populated. So I can't just blow it away and start over.

  • Re: upcoming events on calendar widget

How do i get calendar entries to appear as upcoming events on the calendar widget? I have entries in the calendar but widget just says ' no upcoming events'

I've noticed that events don't appear straight away once entered - A system restart will often refresh this or the quickest way without waiting for a system refresh is to remove the widget then re-add it

  • Marking upcoming events?

    Hello,
In this code i'd like to mark the upcoming event with a ">"
Its a RMS that holds entries of a diary with time and a sentence.
    So the output is like:
    2006-10-19 12:00 day after tomorrow
    '>' 2006-10-18 12:00 tomorrow
    2006-10-17 11:19 today
    2006-10-16 23:00 Yesterday
    2006-10-15 09:00 day before yesterday
As you can see the marker is set at the next upcoming event, so my question is do I need a thread that keeps track of the different entries ?

I am starting to wonder if it has to do with how many future events we have in the calendar (ie a lot)?
We have a number of groups, each with their own calendar and wiki. The upcoming events seem to work for groups with a small number of calendar events. But not for the larger ones.
    maybe?

  • ICal day view upcoming events list--can it be turned off?

Just upgraded to 10.7 and the changes to iCal (v. 5.0.3) are horrifying. I plan most of my daily work on iCal and really need the Day view of the calendar to fill most of the window and show more details on my calendar items as it did before in 10.6. As it is now, the left half of the screen is now taken over by a list of upcoming events which gives the daily view too little space, so all my calendar items and notes are truncated. Makes it very difficult to work with. Is there a way to turn that upcoming view off? I don't understand why it's there. If I've selected "day" as my view option, it stands to reason that I don't need upcoming events for this week. The rationale behind that being there taking up all that unnecessary space is beyond me.
Barring that, anyone have any suggestions for an iCal replacement? I have a long list of other complaints but this one is a big one. If I can't fix this, I need to move on to something else.

Same question here... over a year later!  Mine's about iCal 6, but it's the very same issue.
Cannot stand the scrolling list of events.  When I select a day view, I want to concentrate on that day's events-- and not see a long list of other events for other days!
Rick, did you ever find a solutiion?  Maybe there's a hidden Terminal command to turn it off.  I kept looking for dot within the pane divider to collapse it, but it's not there.  Nor is there an option under Preferences!
Long live Snow Leopard and the old iCal!

  • Calendar Widget Not Showing Upcoming Events

I've upgraded to the latest N900 firmware (pr1.2) and ever since I have had a problem with the calendar widget. All the events are contained in the calendar when I open it however they are not displayed on the desktop widget.
I've got events loaded for the month of June but for some reason these are not showing. Instead I have events showing for July, September and even December. I've tried removing all the entries and the re-adding them but this hasn't solved the problem. I also created another calendar and placed the entries in the new one, again this didn't work.
Does anybody have any idea how I can resolve this problem.

I have exactly the same problem with the Calendar Widget not showing all upcoming events. It will show events way in the future but skip events inbetween. I've tried all day with PC Suite 7.1 and Outlook 2007 and some freshly entered events come across for unknown reasons whilst others do not. No amount of changing local entries to synchronized ones, deleting all calendar info from the phone and re-syncing by USB cable or Bluetooth solves the problem.
It worked fine before and, as you say, corresponds with the recent n900 software update.
I SINCERELY HOPE NOKIA READ THESE BULLETIN BOARDS.
Also, why isn't there a fully compatible PC Suite or Ovi Suite for the n900? I have a PC running Windows 7 and Nokia have told me in the past that they do not have a fully functional, compatible PC/Ovi Suite for Windows 7 and the n900.
IF ANYONE CAN HELP I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT

  • How to remove upcoming events from iCal's day view

  • Is it possible to only publish upcoming events?

    Hello,
I publish an iCal calendar to iCalX, and I can't find a way to only publish future events... is there a way to keep the privacy of past events, but still publish upcoming events?
I would appreciate to be able to share upcoming events with people I work with, in order for them to work around my planning, but avoid them having access to everything I've done the past 4 years..
    thanks!

    Hi Jorg,
Thanks for the help article. This is more about programatically invoking replication to specific agents.
Let me explain more about our requirement.
For ex: we have 10 publish agents configured which publish to 10 publish instances from two data centers, 5 from each data center respectively.
During publishing, we want to publish to one data center at a time so that users can be directed to the other data center while we publish to one.
One way of achieveing it is to disable the agents for one DC and publish so that changes will be replicated to only to single data center.
Later, do the reverse so that changes can be published to the data center whose agents were disabled in step above.
BUT THIS APPROACH REQUIRES THE CONTENT TO BE ACTIVATED TWICE WHICH IS NOT FEASIBLE WHEN WE HAVE HUGE NUMBERS TO BE PUBLISHED.
So I am looking at any other means by which this can be achieved, at the configuration level.
    Thanks Again.

  • Upcoming events - info view on the left

    Hi moderators :-)
I just recognized that the two Inside Tracks on the left in the section "Upcoming events" are outdatet.
Could you please bring that section up to date?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Regards
    Martin

Thanks Martin - actually that is a Space Editor function to fix that, not a moderator function.
I don't see any Space Editors for this group; I am hoping Agasthuri Doss or Oxana Noa Zubarev can assist.

  • Installed windows updates. Stuck on "getting windows ready"

    Hi Guys,
I've installed windows updates on our mail server (security updates and Exchange CU6). After rebooting the server is stuck on "getting windows ready". This is in our test environment for exchange migration(so I'm not worried if this is down for
    a while).
The issue I have is because it won't get past this screen I can't actually view any errors in event viewer etc. I've tried safe mode, safe mode with command prompt and last known good config.
Any ideas as to how I can get into windows?

    Hi NZ_Kiwi,
    PLease follow the steps below:
    1.  please run the Windows Update troubleshooter in safe mode to find the error information.
    2.  A clean boot helps to eliminate software conflicts and to determine what is causing the problem. To perform a clean boot, please refer to the section “How to perform a clean boot” and
    follow the instructions:
