Upcoming shows doesn't show HD channels

Hi.  I just got FIOS installed yesterday, so please forgive me if this is something obvious.
When I navigate to a program in the guide, say, "College Basketball", then choose "upcoming shows", the list it gives me sometimes doesn't include the HD version of the program.  This is really annoying - if I want to go through and program the college basketball games I want to record, I have to find it using the search, then manually go find the HD station to record it.
I tested it with a few other programs and this seems to happen with programs that are shown a lot of times - as though it is searching numerically by channel and gives up after it finds a certain number of programs.
It isn't consistent, though.  I searched on Law & Order: special victims unit and it finds it on channel 50 (USA standard definition) today every hour from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm tonight, then tomorrow moring at 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM on channel 50, channel 550 (USA HD), and channel 1500 (also USA standard definition).  But even though the same program is on channels 550 and 1500 all day today, it doesn't show up in the list.  So if I want the episode that comes on at 10:00 tonight and want it in HD, I can't record it from the "upcoming shows" list.
There's a workaround that I can use the search by keyword to find the show and that works for shows that only come on a few channels, but there are about 30 different networks showing college basketball at some point over the next two weeks.  What I really want is a chronological list that includes the HD stations and will allow me to pick and choose what I want to record.
Is there any way I can get such a list?
Thanks.

Some ideas, none very convenient:
Set up favorites 1 or 2 with the channels you're interested in, then switch to these on the guide and browse.
Just select HD channels on guide and browse.
Check out www.verizon.net/fiostvcentral listings.. show only sports then look at the HD channels. Can set up recordings from here if remote DVR is set up.

  • ITunes Calendar of upcoming shows in your city of music in your Library

There used to be a Calendar on iTunes, where you could see the upcoming shows in your city of the bands in your Library. Quite awhile ago, that went away. I'd like to know how to get it back. I work on a Windows computer.
    Thanks

Oh, that makes sense, Meg. Looks like it was named iConcertCal.

In which case, sarita, my advice is to just download the plugin again and reinstall it. Sometimes plugins need to be updated after an itunes major revision upgrade.

  • I only want to show favorite channels all the time when I go to Guide. Hide others.

Is there a way to only show Favorites? I don't want to have to select Favorites, and make it easy on the family to see a limited amount of channels. I can create favorites but i have to Select 'Show Favorites'.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, you can.
There is a feature called Flip By Favorites, which you'll find under the Favorite Channels menu in Settings. Once the Flip By Favorites option is enabled, the box will only show the channels you have added to the selected favorites list. Channels that you have not added will be permanently hidden from the guide; the only way to access those channels will be to input their channel numbers manually.

  • Video, no Audio, 1 show 1 channel.

For the 2nd week in a row, in Boston area, I recorded MI-5 on WGBX HD channel 544, and for the 2nd week in a row, there was HD video but no audio. Here's the twist; A few hours later, I recorded the same show on WGBH HD channel 502, and all was fine.
Intrigued, this morning I recorded a few shows on channel 544, and they were fine! So is my problem at the Verizon level, the station (544) level, or the program level? Next week, I'm going to try to record both the HD + SD versions, to further isolate the problem. Has anyone ever come across this type of problem, and if so, what was your resolution?

I have not heard of this happenign before. What was your outcome with your recordings??

  • How to program favorites to only show watchable channels

It really aggrivates me that I have to run through a thousand channels most of which I'm not subscribed to. Is there an easy way to program my DVR I guess through the favorites function to show only channels I get?
I mean really I there are a heck of a lot of channels that I dont want and dont get but get caught every time I click on a channel just to be told I need to subscribe. I only want listed what I can watch, is there an easy way of doing that?

Sure. I am in the process of trying to write up a fairly complete procedure to be posted here, but in the meantime here is the part about setting up your favorites list:
The first step is to create at least one Favorites list, either Favorite 1 or Favorite 2:
    Menu ==> Settings ==> Favorite Channels ==> Favorite 1 ==> Add/Remove Channels ==> channel list
Go through the entire list of channels, adding any channels you want by pressing the OK key. There are some keys you can use to make this process easier and faster:
Use the Up Arrow or Down Arrow to move through the channel list one channel at a time.
Use the Channel + and Channel - button to move the channel currently visible at the bottom of the list to the top of the visible list (move forward or backward in the list about 10 channels at a time).
Press any number key combination to move forward or backward from your current position in the list. Some examples:
Press the 0 key to get to the top of the channel list
Press 500 to go to the first HD channel in the list
Press 9999 to go to the bottom of the list
Once you are positioned at the channel you want to add to this Favorites list, press OK (if you make a mistake or change your mind, press OK again to remove the channel from the list)
Next, update how the buttons on the remote work.
The Favorites Button option controls what you see when you hit the Favorites button on the remote:
Show Favorite Listings:  When you hit the Favorites button, you see Favorite 1 (or 2), and when you hit the Guide button you see the full list of all channels.
Toggle Flip by Favorites: When you hit the Favorites button you do not see a Favorites list, instead you see a small display in the upper right part of the screen showing what hitting the Guide button will display: one of the Favorites or the full Guide. Repeatedly hitting the Favorites button will rotate through the options: Favorite 1 (if the list exists), Favorite 2 (if the list exists), and All Channels, back to Favorite 1, etc.
The Flip by Favorites option determines which list shows up by default when you press the Favorites button:
    All Channels
    Favorite 1
    Favorite 2
My preference is to set Favorites Button to Toggle Flip by Favorites and Flip by Favorites to Favorite 1; this way, hitting the Guide button causes my Favorites 1 list to appear, and hitting the Favorites button allows me to change which list appears when I hit the Guide button.
The net effect of the above is that by default I see my favorites when I hit the Guide button, but I can easily change that to all channels at any time.
The above is not fully edited or complete yet, but maybe it will help you get your Favorites set the way you want them.
    Hope this helps.

  • Receiver determination is not showing communication channel

HI, I am working on file adpater scenario. I have created communication channel and later deleted it. Then created new communication channel and completed  other steps like - creating- receiver determination and interface determination. But when I am trying to create Receiver agreement , I am not getting the new communication channel in selection list. Its showing old communication channel that i created and deleted. There are no entries to activate in Change list and  cache refresh also working fine.
Please let me know why its showing old comunication channel, instead of new one.

    Dear rajaram,
I found two chances to have the above mentioned situation.
[1]. You have deleted the channel from the scenarios and Change lists, But you may find the same in the Objects Tab[between the Change LIst tab and Scenarios Tab].
[2]. The second chance is that you may created the channel with the conflict on the 'Sender' or 'Receiver'. Check the second one. I believe the second one made this probelm

  • Why is iTunes Podcast Artist Column Incorrectly Showing the Channel Title?

I've noticed that recently for iTunes Podcasts that I create, when viewing the podcast in iTunes, the Artist column (for each podcast media record) is not showing the correct <itunes:author> field for that item. Instead it is showing the <title> field for the whole category. I thought my XML may have been incorrect, but it never used to be a problem for and it still looks correct. Further more, I noticed that other podcasts on itunes had this same problem (all). Why isn't it showing the "author" in the artist column anymore? Is this a glitch in the new version of itunes?

No, I think it's actually using the "channel <title>" node, not the owner <itunes:name> field you mentioned. Mine are different, and it's picking up that field for sure.
    The iTunes Specs:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/whatson/podcasts/specs.html
require this tag for the channel:
    <title>
This is the top level title of the whole podcast, and it should not be used for the "author" of the individual podcast "items". See the image on that page which describes which fields are displayed where:
    http://images.apple.com/itunes/whatson/podcasts/images/itunespodcast_overlay2007 1029.jpg
It explicitly says that "item <itunes:author>" should show up in the column. Whereas "channel <title>" is used for the top channel title ONLY. They are not following their own specs. And if you aren't including that "channel <title>" field, then you aren't following the specs either I'm glad it works, but I'm not quite ready to abandon the specs, because they are going to find the glitch in iTunes and fix it soon.
I would like them to fix what is very obviously a problem in a recent release of iTunes. Maybe if we all report the problem, they'll pay attention:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser/
Just pick the "best" category and write a report to them.

  • FM 5.0 not showing Port Channel correctly

1 x PC is showing as thick link and also all ISLs shown beside it. There are other PC created and all ISL links have been replaced by one PC link in the topology diagram. All links are up and working if viewed from CLI. Port channel created between 1 x MDS9509 and 2 x MDS9148.
Did anyone else experience this behaviour before?

    Thanks Phan.
ISLs are not shown under the PC link but it is showing with it. I have logged a TAC call and one of the Tech support guys is currently looking at it. It looks like issue with FM drawing up the topology. From CLI PC is fine and all links are operational. We tried deleting and recreating the PC and also tried what you suggested.
Anyway will update once tech support finished with it.

  • Error in Channel / showing in Channel monitor

    Hi All,
    - I have a receiver channel defined with a custom XI adapter.
    - The channel monitoring now says: Status=removed, Text=No adapter registered for this channel
    - The consequences of this are, error in message processing
    The adapter is there, but:
    - I reinstalled the adapter recently, using sdm and the action sequence undeploy, deploy
    Question to the experts:
    - What can I do to make my new adapter version known again to my channel?
    Thanks a Lot

    Hi,
    Hi,,
    2 Introduction
Configuring IDoc adapter in Exchange Infrastructure 3.0 requires some configuration on the SAP
systems, for both XI and the backend system where the IDoc message is to be sent. These steps, although
simple, are many times missed or mis-configured, causing the delivery of messages to fail.
Since IDoc adapter uses the ABAP stack, instead of J2EE, the configuration requirements are mainly in
    ABAP.
Setting up IDoc adapters requires the XI integration server to be able to communicate with the backend
SAP system, and also to make sure that the Logical System Name used when posting IDoc exists on the
    backend SAP system.
3 The Step By Step Solution
The basic steps for the IDoc configuration are outline below:
    1. Configure SM59 on XI to communicate to SAP backend system.
    2. Configure port on XI for IDoc communication.
    3. Create or verify the Logical System Name on the SAP backend system.
    4. Create or verify business system in XI’s System Landscape Directory.
    5. Verify the Logical System Name of the business system.
    6. Verify or add the Logical System Name for the sender business system.
    7. Create/configure the Communication Channel for the IDoc receiver adapter
3.1 Configure SM59 on XI to communicate to SAP backend system.
    1. Using transaction SM59, create an RFC destination with Connection Type = “3”.
In this example, the RFC destination name is “NDVCLNT510”.
    2. Enter the logon information:
    3. Test the connection by clicking on “Testing connection” and “Remote logon”.
    Both must be successful.
3.2 Configure port on XI for IDoc communication.
    4. Go to transaction IDX1 on XI, and create a port. In this example, the Port name is “SAPNDV”.
    • &#61472;The Port name must be in the form of “SAPxxx”, where xxx is the system ID of the backend SAP
    system.
    • The Client must be the client number of the backend SAP system.
    • Select the RFC Destination which was created in the previous step.
3.3 Create or verify the Logical System Name on the SAP backend system.
    5. Enter transaction SALE on the SAP backend system.
    6. Create or verify the Logical System Name. In our example, NDVCLNT510 is verified.
3.4 Create or verify business system in XI’s System Landscape Directory.
The business system name for the SAP backend system must contain a valid Logical System Name. This Logical System Name is the one verified or created in the previous step.
    7. In the System Landscape Directory, select the SAP backend business system. If one does not exist, then create the business system. Verify the Logical System Name.
3.5 Verify the Logical System Name of the business system.
    8. In the Integration Directory, doubleclick on the business system (in our example, it is NDVCLNT510).
    Navigate the menu:
    Service • Adapter Specific Identifiers.
If information is empty or incorrect, then it will have to be synchronized with the content of the System Landscape Directory. Follow the steps below for synchronization.
    9. (Optional) Synchronization of the business system in Integration Directory to the business system in System
    Landscape Directory.
    • &#61472;Double-click on the business system in the Integration Directory.
    • &#61472;Switch to Edit mode.
    • &#61472;Select menu: Service • Adapter-Specific Identifiers
    10. (Optional) Within the dialog box, click on the button as indicated below to resynchronize.
    11. (Optional) If the expected data from the System Landscape Directory is not updated, then the SLD cache may need to be cleared first.
3.7 Create/configure the Communication Channel for the IDoc receiver adapter.
    15. In the Integration Directory, create an IDoc receiver communication channel.
    • &#61472;The RFC Destination is from step 3.1.
    • &#61472;The Port is from step 3.2.
    NOTE:
There is no need to create an IDoc sender Communication Channel for XI. Instead, the backend SAP system must be configure to send the IDoc to XI.
    4 Appendix
    Transaction: IDX2
There are a couple of situation where IDX2 can be useful on the XI system.
    1. When we want to test connection between the XI and SAP backend system.
    2. When an IDoc has changed, and the meta data stored in XI needs to be update. When an IDoc is sent from the SAP backend system to XI, XI will first check to see if the meta data for the IDoc is already in its persistent cache. If not, then XI will use the configuration in IDX1 to retrieve the IDoc meta data from the backend system. If the
meta is already in cache, then it will NOT do so. Therefore, when an IDoc has changed, it is necessary to manually update the new meta data on XI, or delete it from the cache, so that the latest version can be retrieved. IDX2 is used for this purpose.
Go to transaction IDX2 and click on “Create”.
Enter the IDoc Type and the Source Port as defined in step #2. Click “Continue”.If successful, the following will show up. If error occurs, then the IDX1 configurations will need to be re-checked.
    Reward points if find useful.

  • TDMS file viewer is not showing all channels

    Hiya,
My personal tutor suggested that I should put a message on forums as we couldn't find the solutions.
We've created TDMS write and read vis where in TDMS write, some emulated data is streamed into TDMS write file via queues. As in attached VIs, there are only six channels but we might be having more than 20 to show on TDMS file viewer.
So the problem is when we run the TDMS write vi, trigger it with horizontal toogle on front panel, stop the TDMS write and go back to view the file on TDMS read, only the first channel data shows up. Also, we couldn't find the better way to stop the TDMS write vi than to abort it.
    Could anybody help us please!

  • Waveform Chart only shows one channel or combines both channels?

    Hi,
I have 2 analog input channels and data was obtained by sampling at 500Hz and saved into a text file.
Can any one take a look at my VI and tell me why I am either only getting one curve plotted in the Waveform Chart or it's simply a combination of both of my inputs?
    Thanks.

    FILE_3.vi ‏48 KB

    Hey hellolv!
The issue you are seeing is actually a pretty common one.  For a chart to update two plots the input to that chart must be a 2D array.  Basically this means that all you need to do is insert a Build Array function right before the chart.  I coded a quick example that does this for two random numbers in a while loop.
If you have questions I might suggest that you implement this in LabVIEW.  You could also check the Context Help (Ctrl+H) and the Charts.VI in the Example Finder (Help » Find Examples).
    Hope this helps!

  • I am unable to show Weather Channel Videos

I am unable to see the videos on the Weather Channel. They do not seem to be flash videos. All I get is a spinning loading wheel which does not stop. I do not have similar problems at other sites (CNN or Youtube for example). If I turn the flash blocker on and off it does not seem to affect the problem.

Ghostery will block it also...if you whitelist weather.com under ghostery options
it will work...of course the trackers will too, but only for that site.

  • My PCIe 1433 device does not show active channel in MAX

I have a PCIe 1433 installed and it worked fine for a year. However, since last week, the channel "img0" was disappear from the device list in MAX as shown in the attached figure.
The channel name is now list as "c0000039" instead of "img0", and there is no other menu except save and refresh on the right pane as shown in figure.
The labview based module, MAX, and the vision acquisition module is all 2014 version. I can locate the "img0.iid" file as well as the necessary camera file in my PC.
Any idea what might cause this issue? Please feel free to ask me if you need some more info or suggestion.
    Thanks.

    Eric,
    Thanks for your reply.
We recently switched to Labview 2014 64bit version about a month ago. But everything worked fine back then.
The problem just happened last week. I confirmed that it worked just fine the week before.
Is it possible that this issue is cause by the 64 bit version?
    Here is the list of what I already tried so far that didn't solve the issue;
    - I did try repair installation of Vision Acquisition and MAX. --> Nothing change
    - I did try connect another working camera --> Same problem
    - I put the frame grabber in another PC --> Same problem (exactly the same as shown in the previous picture)
Per your suggestion, I will try to run an IMAQ example with "img0" tomorrow.
I'm not sure if I can get it run though since Laview programm did not recognize the "img0" either.
