You did not start a new thread for your problem in the conversion board, but added to an existing thread that was already solved. This makes it difficult to find. As has been mentioned, you should start a new thread for each conversion.
No, I cannot help. To convert from 5.1.1, we need somebody that still has LabVIEW 8.2 installed.
You originally posted on Friday afternoon where most people get ready for the weekend.
There is typically not much traffic here over the weekend.
Today is a federal holiday in the US so there might also be less activity overall.
I think you just need to be patient. Good luck!

  • Upconvertion from labview 5.1 to 2012 - (B)

Could anyone please upconvert this softwares from Labview 5.1 to a version which can be opened on Labview 2012?
    I would be really grateful.
I've post another codes on other messages, as I can't attach all of them at once due to the forum limitation of 6 Mb for the attachments. Not that this is the part (B), with different content from part (A).
Once again sorry for that, that's the only way I've found so far.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Upconvertion from labview 5.1 to 2012 (Composed RAR File)

Could anyone please upconvert this softwares from Labview 5.1 to a version which can be opened on Labview 2012?
Here I had to create a composed ZIP file with 3 parts to be able to upload within the upload size limit. The forum doesn't accept RAR at all.
Here attached the main part called "_Incoming Inspection.zip".
The other parts follows in the messages: "_Incoming Inspection01.z" and "_Incoming Inspection02.z". But they have to be renamed, as the forum also does not accept the extensions for composed ZIP files (i.e. .z01 .z02 .z03 etc.), I've renamed them. So please rewrite their names as:
From "_Incoming Inspection01.z" to "_Incoming Inspection.z01"
From "_Incoming Inspection02.z" to "_Incoming Inspection.z02"
I've used WinRAR to compose the ZIP files.
Sorry for this BIG incovenience, but that's the way I figured out how to solve it, and have the files converted for working with them.
You guys in the forum are doing a pretty good work, congrats!
    Really many thanks to you!

I've rearrenged the content to 4 parts with normal zip format (WinRAR can unpack all of them).
I think now it should work, you can mass compile each of them separately.
So hereunder the files come, two of them in this message and other two in the next ones.
    Thanks in advance crossrulz!
PS: about downloading the version 8.2.1 as you suggested, I didn't get the proper link using the search feature of NI website.

  • Upconvert from LabVIEW 4.02 to LabVIEW 2011

Wiii, my university library finally managed to find the missing disk from the book "LabVIEW power programming". Now I just wanted to check it out but all the VI's are to old.
Can someone of NI upconvert them? I uploaded the .zip (with password) containing the VI's on my server because it was to large as attachment.
Please send me a message for the download link.

I hate to tell you this, but that library is obsolete. There's no actual code in the subVIs that actually interface to the hardware. All of the VIs just have the terminals of the controls/indicators on the block diagram, and that's it. That library is obsolete. Check the Drivers section of the NI site (click Support) in the menu bar to find the updated drivers.

  • Identifying and Converting from an older version of LabVIEW

I have an old .vi program that I am trying to access and run now. I don't know what version of LabView it was written in but I do know it came off of a Windows 95 computer.
    Any Suggestions?

You said "trying to". Does that mean you've been unsuccessful? On what OS are you trying to run it?
When you open an old VI in a newer version of LabVIEW, if the VI isn't too old, then it will open. If you close the VI you'll get a dialog asking you to save it. The "explain changes" will tell you the version of LabVIEW used to write the VI.
If you cannot open the VI because it's too old, and your LabVIEW is too new (e.g., opening a LabVIEW 5.x VI with LV2011), then you can post a request in the Version Conversion board. If the code is really old (e.g., LabVIEW 3.x or earlier), chances are you will not be able to get it upconverted since versions that old require a special toolkit from NI that is not publicly available.
EDIT: Duplicate answer. Was creating my response while Dennis posted his.

  • LabVIEW 3.0.1 to 2011?

    Hi!
I am a beginner in LabVIEW and I should write a new VI for a solar cell in our university. It is used for experiments for other students. But unfortunately the devices are very old ( Keithley 228a and 199 ). So there are some problems using GPIB and an Agilent 82357B. So, for better understandings what is going on there and to get started I can use the old VI.
And that's why I need your help here.
The old VI was written in LabVIEW 3.0.1 and is still running on windows 3.11. When I try to open the .llb I can only see the frontpanel without any possibilities to edit the block diagram. shortcuts like ctrl+e or f didn't work. In the help section of LV 2011 I could see that it's not possible to upconvert such an old VI to 2011. Actually I just need to see the block diagram on the VI, that would be a big help. Maybe some of you still have and old LV Version to help me get the block diagram or even convert it to 2011, if possible.
I found another topic with the same problem in windows 3.11 and LabVIEW 3.0.1. But for me, the shortcuts ( http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/In-LabVIEW-3-0-1-how-to-open-a-VI-diagram-opens-panel-only/m-p/53784... ) - last post- didn't work. Maybe LV 3.0.1 used some other shortcuts.
    Thanks in advance.

    Sorry for doublepost.
I tried to stop the vi by pressing ctrl + period but nothing happens. I hear the hdd doing something by pressing ctrl + x like cut and paste. But other commands didn't work.
So I tried to use the VI as a subVI. At first, it worked to put the VI to the diagram. When I open the VI with ctrl + doubleclick I get an error. I try to translate it:
LabVIEW Caused a General Protection Fault in <unknown> "185F:BADBILabview will be closed.
I've read something about it and maybe it's a problem caused by low memory. Cause after that errormessage, I can't start labview anymore and have to restart the computer. A message appears "unable to start the application because you need at least 4096000 bytes of memory. "
But I think actually I could open the VI with ctrl-doubleclick on the subVI. But I don't know if it would open the diagram or again the runmode of the whole VI.
I will try this again and hope that I can open it just once. Any other ideas? Maybe I don't have the rights to open the diagram?
again, thank you for your help!
    EDIT:
I could open the VI now, but again it opens just the whole VI without title- or menubar. I tried to open it with ctrl + doubleclick but it seems that ctrl doesn't have any effect. By just doubleclicking the VI it opens the same way.
