I am trying too upconvert my older bought music from itunes to the new acc at 256 kbps. How can this be done?
Thanks everyone. Newbie to the discussion group

I am having the same problem with my ipod classic. I have done the 5R's,I have authorized computer, and performed all the related fixes in the support area. No luck.
Also, I am not able to load the latest ipod software (I have itunes 8 loaded). Error 1436. Performed all the support fixes with not luck. Anybody have a solution short of returning the ipod to Apple?

A few years ago I bought music from Itunes.  Recently I deactivated all computers in order to add a new computer.  Most of the music I purchased came through, but I am still missing about 30% of it.  How can I download all the music I have purchased from Itunes?

Might have luck with that here >  Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer on the iTunes Store.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID that was used for the original purchases.

    Hello sigmarwolf,
It sounds like you are wanting to download your purchases made from your iPad onto your computers iTunes library. This article should help you do that named:

You can also enable automatic downloads on your PC in your iTunes preferences:
    Open iTunes.
If you haven't already, authorize your computer for use with your Apple ID by choosing Store > Authorize This Computer. Learn more about iTunes Store authorization.
For Mac computers: Choose iTunes > Preferences and click the Store tab.
For Windows computers: Choose Edit > Preferences and click the Store tab.
You can enable Automatic Downloads2 for Music, Apps, or Books under Automatic Downloads.

I cannot find a way to authorize my new computer to play previously purchased music from itunes.  The directions say to click on STORE menu, but I don't see that option.

Go to the Store menu item on the menu bar, and choose Authorize This Computer, as shown below.
If by any chance you don't see the menu bar (File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, Help), first enable it by using CTRL+B.

  • I've bought music from iTunes and  but it doesn't appear in music app.

I've bought music from iTunes and downloaded it but it doesn't appear in music app. Also, music I sync from computer to iPhone doesn't show up in music either? Please help!!
The device is an iphone 5 and its got all the latest software downloads etc.

    Region Code 4:
Mexico, Central and South America, and the South Pacific.
Includes Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Falkland Islands, French Guiana, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, New Guinea, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela
Apparently my first response was off in left field.  The DVD player has its own code.  My recommendation is to change the code when it asks.  It is possible that the disks that play correctly are region-free and the ones that don't have a region code.  If this does not work, you still have four more changes available; you won't be stuck with the new code.

  • Re-downloading previously bought songs from itunes?

had my laptop stolen which had the downloaded songs that I had bought from itunes... is there anyway for me to re-download the songs I have previously bought onto my new laptop?!

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and in the circumstances you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on the link at the bottom of this page you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

  • I am trying to download previously purchased music from iTunes, it show "purchased" in iTunes Store but does not show up under previous purchase tab

There are several albums that I've previously purchased that somehow were deleted from my computer & iPad.  When I go to download available purchases on PC it say that all available punches have been downloaded.  When I check iTunes Store it show as "purchased".  When I try to check & download from iCloud via either iPad or PC these items do not show up under items purchased.
I can't even re-purchase the item, which I've tried since it shows as purchased in iTunes Store.  This is very troublesome because there is no way for me to access these previous purchases.  I have been using iTunes & various Apple products with the iTunes Store for several years & there is a lot of money invested in these previous purchases, that there is no way for me to access.  As mentioned, I'd even be willing to re-purchase some of these items (though this should be unnecessary).  But, the iTunes Store won't let me, because the items show up as purchased in store, but not on any of my devices!!!
    Help!

    Hey innerev2003,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If, while searching through your past purchases, items are unavailable to download and show a "Purchased" button, they are still on your computer. It may be best to search your iTunes library by clicking Music, then use the search bar at the top right.
If you are completely sure the items are no longer in your library, try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then back in.
