Update 10.8.4 horror

Update 10.8.4 would not install for weeks, so today I searched Apple forum and downloaded the update from a forum link.  Now it is stuck for hours on a grey screen with apple in center.  Will not restart at all.  Now what?

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
Step 1
The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
     a. Boot into the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
Step 2
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
Step 3
Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 5.
If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
Step 4
Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
Step 5
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
Step 6
Reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
Step 7
Repeat step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a Time Machine or other backup.
Step 8
This step applies only to older Macs (not current models) that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery. The battery is distinct from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a gray screen at boot. Typically the boot failure will be preceded by loss of the startup disk and system clock settings. See the user manual for replacement instructions.
Step 9
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.

  • When moving from one block to another with mouse, information is being lost

    Hello friends at www.oracle.com ,
I have a program with 2 blocks (B1 and B2). These blocks are NOT related to database tables.
Let's suppose I'm filling a field at B2 block, and after changing this field's value, I keep cursor stopped at it. If I use mouse to move to B1 block, information just changed at the field of B2 block is lost.
    How can I solve this?
    Best regards,
    Franklin Gongalves Jr.

    Dear Chris
All was going well, but disaster has struck! When I came to step 7/8 Iselected the iTunes library in the iTunes folder and it loaded - but it was not the current one. I recognised the items in it, but there were just a few hundred, whereas my current collection amounts to over 6000 'songs' as iTunes calls them. And in fact a majority of the music is no longer on my C:\ or F:\drives.
I closed ITunes down and decided to compare by looking at my original iTunes folder (I had of course followed your instructions and had up to now been working with the "new iTunes" folder). As I repeated steps 7/8 I saw a message on the screen about "updating" - and imagine my horror - Iwas presented again with the OLD list.
So I've really screwed up and I don't know how to access my up-to-date collection at all. You'll see on the screenshot below that 4 files were created or modified within a few minutes of each other on 8th June when I was doingthis work. I've looked at the XML file and it appears to correspond to the listof music I saw in iTunes, and it's the same content as the XML file of 1/1/09.
My only hope is that the file (there is only one) inside the folder "Previous iTunes libraries" : iTunes Library 2011-06-08.itl is the listing of my current 6000+ songs and can be resurrected so that I can have another go at what I was trying to do in the first place. But I don't want to do anything more - out of fear! - before asking your advice.
    Thanks, Andy

  • HT1689 Free App [ Navfree ]

I downloaded a free app ( navfree ) from your app store, sync to my iphone 3g, then i bought the adfree software and speed cameras, sync to iphone, working fine, yesterday the 10/4/2012 navfree update, updated and to my horror adfree and speed cameras no longer work, do i have to buy again?, as restore software dos'nt resolve issue, can any one help me please

You are not speaking to Apple.
What version of iOS are you running?
Navfree (US version) requires iOS 4 or higher. The iPhone 3G can run up to iOS 4.2.1. Your profile indicates you are using an iPhone 3G with iOS 4.3.3, which is physically impossible. If you are running iOS 3.x, you must update to 4.2.1.
You also need to clarify what you mean by "adfree and speed cameras no longer work".

  • Syncing after upgrade from 10.3 to Leopard

Have just upgraded my main G5 computer to Leopard and I assumed that once I Synced, that all my Calendar, Bookmarks Address Book etc would automatically update. To my horror they won't.
All the info is still there on my Powerbook and G4 - I can't upgrade those machines to Leopard because they're too slow.
So how I can get the info onto my main computer - and will I be able to Sync all 3 ever again. (I realise that Apple has said that iSync is no longer supported for 10.3

It is actually .Mac Sync which no longer supports the synchronization of data across three generations of the Mac OS X operating system. Mac OS X 10.4.10 is required at minimum to support the data transfer. According to this note, it is actually only calendars among the Mac OS X 10.3.x data types which can no longer be synchronized with Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
So, the easiest way to resolve the issue—and there will only be one if one or more of your other machines is not running Mac OS X 10.4.10 at minimum—it to upgrade those machines to Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later, but not beyond Mac OS X 10.4.11, the latest version of that operating system available.

  • OSD Tasks only available to PXE and media showed up in Software Center on a server!

OK so I'm getting a selected windows 2008 r2 server setup with its SCCM client cert, I get the client installed on there - everything's looking great, I see updates and CI's and policies all coming down nicely watching the client logs... I open up software
center thinking I'll go on ahead and kick off the 2 available windows updates and to my horror I see my OSD Task Sequence deployments (Available) sitting there in software center. These are all set for visibility only to PXE and media - NEVER software center
    - every single one of them - and I've triple-checked every one since I saw this and also verified they don't show up on a client workstation. I deleted the deployments for these task sequences and grabbed the \windows\ccm\logs directory in full off the server
for review... How in the flying heck did these task sequences show up in Software Center on my server's newly installed client / software center???

Aha! Thanks Mr Sandys! Sure enough the client hasn't upgraded yet and is at 5.00.7711.0000.
I have automatic sitewide client upgrade configured (within 1 day) - guess I'll wait to see if it updates or not. Shouldn't pushing the client from my CM server send the latest client X_X ?

  • HT2188 I bought my iPhone 4s Nov. 20.  I updated immediately to ios6.0 and cannot make it through even 1 day without the battery going down to almost zero.  Thats with apps closed, wifi off, screen off, etc.  It's a horror.  I have to constantly keep char

I purchased an iPhone 4s on Nov. 20th.  I immediately had to update the software to ios 6.0.1.  I cannot even get through 1 day without the phone battery losing all power.  It loses 10-20% per hour, and that's with apps closed, wifi off, bluetooth off, screen dark, updates current, etc.  You can hold the phone in your hand and watch the power go down.  It also gets very warm.  I have to charge it once or twice a day so I have it when I need it.
I took it in to the Sprint store for diagnostics to see if there was something wrong with the phone.  They said the phone is ok, but one of the agents said it's the last update - he has had problems ever since.  He said he thought they are working on fixing it & we should be getting another update to fix it.  Is this true?  I sure hope so!  They also showed me how to reboot the phone, especially when it gets so warm.  Is there anything else I need to do?  Please help!
This is my first iPhone and I am very frustrated and disappointed in Apple.  If it's the software, I would think they would be frantically trying to fix it.  This phone was not the cheapest phone, so the battery life should be better!

After some troubleshooting, I decided to order a new battery.  I replaced the battery and was then able to get it to restore, however--after I restore it and it comes time to restart the phone, it gets stuck and doesn't turn on.
Sorry, your repair ruined the iPhone.
She does not have apple care and even though she loved this device, she isn't going to buy another iPhone because of all the problems shes had with this one (it's just over a year old).
After you ruined the iPhone with DIY, Apple won't touch it anymore. You should have asked before all these had happened.
I'm an android user myself and I love rooting/flashing new ROMS, so if jailbreaking her phone or doing some kind of super-restore with 3rd party programs might help, I'm all for it-
Yeah, all Android user can think of is Jailbreaking, read this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3743

  • Shock Horror - CC Update Works!

Now I may have got this wrong, but I opened the Desktop Application Manager (DAM) today, for no other reason than to check the version number for a thread in this forum, and without thinking about it, I told it to go ahead and install updates for InDesign and InCopy.   The thing is, I hadn't bothered to open the DAM in Administrator mode (Windows 7) which would normally mean the update would get half way and fail.................but it didn't!    (I've been watching reruns of Top Gear, and seem to be talking in Jeremy Clarksonisms ).
I'd already noticed that I no longer have to trash App Data\Local\Adobe\OOBE\opm.db  every single time I wanted to sign in to the DAM, since the last update, so things are looking up.   A week from now, Adobe will announce major updates for all the Creative Cloud apps, so fingers crossed they don't introduce another round of bugs to be fixed.

    Hi,
Please follow the steps given in : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-u44m1i210-installing-updates-ccm.html

  • Helix Win 8.1 update horrors

So, trying to update my Helix to 8.1...   It is been just completely traumatic in so many ways (dramatic flair intentional)
The boatload of windows updates required before you can download the main 8.1 update from the store has failed over a dozen times.  I got the dreaded "Failure configuring Windows updates. Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer" numerous times.  Had to do many hard resets with my trusty paper clip, then do a recovery from the recovery partition.
I had to repair Windows update several times.  I had to manually select and install a dozen or so of the "Critical Updates" from Windows update and do that around 20 times until I got most of the updates installed without a failure.
I've probably rebooted over 100 times, and burnt a solid 2 days trying to get this thing to work.  I tried updating just about everything but it just continues to be nearly impossible to complete this update.
My network adapter stops working randomly, and disconnects me from the download, etc, etc, etc
We have about 7 Thinkpads of all sorts in our family, as well as Lenovo tablets and I have NEVER had so much trouble getting any Lenovo product to work correctly.
Still not sure I can successfully get Windows 8.1 to complete

I'm going to have to agree with Wolfindersteppe, this sounds more like a Windows issue. I recently reinstalled my custom built desktop and experienced many of the problems you described. However, I ran out of time and I had to let it sit for a couple days and all by itself it updated everything to Windows 8.1/8.1.1. My guess is that 8.1 was delivered via Windows Update, which is a first for me. If you can, let the Helix sit for a couple days and let Windows automatically install the updates. Not sure if that will work in your case, but I was pleasantly suprised. Apparently it doesnt like to be micro-managed

  • BIOS Update / RAID 1 / Windows XP Data Loss Horror - HELP!

I cannot even begin to fathom how this tragedy occured.  Upon my initial build of the system in September, everything went flawlessly.  Eventually around October I updated the bios from 1.2 to 1.3, then in January to 1.4.  The moment I updated the bios to 1.4, windows began showing the onboard mirrored RAID 1 drives as two separate hard drives and I was promted to re-activate windows.
The system functioned fine, but now both hard drives in the RAID 1 were visible under My Computer.  The drives seemed to stay the same size so I felt comforatble that it was still mirroring and I wans't too worried - but I didn't watch that very closely.  Also interesting is that both the drives indicated that they were shared.  When I tried to unshare them, Windows refused saying that the share was only for administrative purposes.  The computer was fine for what I'm guessing now is 10 days.  On 1/31/05 I ran Sandra tune up wizard and I got a BSOD and a re-start.  This surprised me because my system has been phenomenally stable and it never reboots or locks up.  So when it re-starts, it promts me to re-start again to finish installing my new hardware (I could not find any new hardware in task manager).  I restarted (and boy do I regret that), and upon restarting, the RAID 0 was represented by one drive letter again as it should be.
BUT the entire system lost 10 days woth of complete data!  It was like a time warp from 1/31/05 to 1/19/05.  All my documents for the 11 days - GONE, all my emails - Gone!  I did a system search and there was not one file modified after 1/19/05 on the whole computer.  I not prompted for nor did I run any sort of restore program.  Freaking out that I lost so much data, I ran R-undelete and easy recovery profesional which were not able to find hide nor hair of my lost files.  I am completely stumped by this and I didn't even think somehting like this was possible.
So what do you think happened?  Some theories:  When both drives became listed, it stopped writing to one drive, when windows realized it was one drive, it (or somehow the onboard hardware realized it was one drive) the drives became rectified to the last time the data coincided - 1/19/05.  I don't know about this theory, I'm just guessing.
I really don't have any good theories, just a throbbing headache and a lot of work to make up.  Any thoughts or help anyone could offer would be appreciated.

Bump - And I see other people reporting problems with Windows Xp seeing two drives in the RAID array after BIOS update!

  • ITunes update horror!!!

    I need help now!!!!!
like everyone else here I made the mistake of installing the latest version of ITunes, and since then ITunes doesn't recognize my IPod. My computer recognizes it and I can still play music through ITunes but I can't synch it with my IPod because ITunes doesn't recognize it! I've tried resetting and restoring my IPod and neither have worked, instead I am left with an IPod with no music on it and no way of getting it. What am I supposed to do without risking losing all of my music library in ITunes???? This is very frustrating. Could someone please help me, and provide instructions in layman's terms, because I am not as computer savy as most of the people here!!!

Make sure you scan and fix installer files, Windows system files first before doing the installation
    1. Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
    type in
    sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
Restart the computer if it did actually repair any files.
    2. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.

  • HELP! iPod no longer works after update

I've been using my 20gb clickwheel ipod without incident for a year now, my last update had been iTunes 5 and hadn't updated my iPod recently either (why bother..it worked fine?).
I wanted to purchase music from the iTunes music store, but it wouldn't let me unless I upgraded to iTunes 6 and updated my iPod. OK - so I did that- upgraded iTunes to 6.0.1 and updated tghe iPod using the latest updated dated 2005-10-12. Then the horror begins.
On the first attempted synch post update - my iPod screen turned into a folder/exclamation point icon and stopped working. I tried resetting by holding down the center button and menu..it restarted and went back to the same folder/exclamation point icon. No luck.
I've tried restoring it repeatedly and then synching my library back to the now clean and restored iPod and it stops synching at different points and crashes (after 31 songs - crash iTunes - iPod freezes on the "Do not disconnect" screen - strange clicking noise - restore - try again - 58 songs...same... restore ..again...45 songs.. you get the picture).
It worked fine BEFORE the update except I couldn't purchase music. There has been NO change except installing the updates (it hasn't been jostled, dropped or anything). What can I do? The update killed my iPod?!!!! I am at my wits end!!!!!!
    -Tory

OK..I've tried many things and my iPod is still hosed after updating. I upgraded my Mac to Tiger. I was told that the there might be some issues with synching using firewire with the new update - so I bought a USB cable and tried synching with that.
I have the same issue as before. I can restore the iPod, but when I start synching my music from Itunes back to the blank, restored iPod - it synches up anywhere from 20-200 songs and then freezes (spinning beach ball on one song halfway synched for an hour - then force quit iTunes - and start all over again: restore, synch, crash).
You know, I got burned by the 1st generation 5gb iPod battery issue, then the headphone jack stopped working on my 2nd generation, now my monochrome clickwheel iPod freaks out after Apple forces me to update so I can get my paid music back (it removed, yes, REMOVED my purchased songs because I was still using an older version of iTunes - when I updated to 6 I got them back - how Microsoft is THAT?).
I am really losing my faith in Apple's ability to make a quality product.I am despondent. If anyone has any advice - I would be most grateful...

  • Unable to shutdown or restart after update from 10.5 to 10.6

    Hi,
    I'm getting nuts with this.
After upgrading from 10.5 to 10.6 I'm unable to restart or shutdown.
The system hangs on a blue screen with a spinning wheel. I did an
update, not a clean install (that would be a horror trip with a re-
install AND reconfiguration of 50+ apps and is not really a solution :-().
I've read, that this problem occurs not very often but I'm not the
only one, who has it. Via internet searches I tried a lot but - nope.
I'm trying to find out, what causes the problem but nothing helped
    me out of this trap.
    I tried the following:
    - PRAM reset
    - System Management Controller (SMC) reset
    - disabled all StartUp Items
    - relocated the following folders to another location:
    /Library/Preferences
    /Users/myaccount/Library/Preferences
    - did all maintenance procedures with Cocktail (Snow Leopard Edition)
    - cleared all caches
    - ran scripts: daily, weekly, monthly etc.
    - took off all peripherals (USB, FireWire)
    - removed third party Extensions out of /System/Library/Extensions
    No success.

    Hi Barney,
thanks a lot for your answer.
No - the above console log was with Parallels installed. But that
makes no difference. I did an uninstall and the problem still occurs.
Now (after uninstall of Parallels) the console log looks like this:

  • Library Lost - Please HeIp I tried updating my old ipod & now all 10,000 songs in my library have an ! next to them and I get the error message "song " " could not be used because the original file could not be found" on every song I try to play

Please help - this morning I tried updating one of my old ipods for my wife (this ipod hasn't been updated in 2-3 years).  I plugged it into my pc, it was recognized and the software updated.  I created a new playlist and tied to sync the ipod.  This ipod had never been used on this pc/itunes since the pc is only 2 years old.  When I tried to sync the ipod it stated that it would have to erase all the old songs on the ipod prior to syncing.  I clicked ok and it proceeded to wipe out the old ipod and sync the new playlist (~1000 songs).  When the sync was complete there were only 6 songs from the new playlist (all purchased this morning from itunes) on the ipod and to my horror all ~10,000 song on my pc in itunes now have a ! next to them.  Only my recent purchases from itunes do not.  When I click on a song with the ! I get the error message "the song " " could not be used because the original file could not be found."  How do I correct this issue - I am scared to hook my ipads or other ipods to my pc for fear of losing everything?!?!?  I spent 100s of hours burning the 10,000 songs from my cd collection and do not want to have to do it again.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

This "original file cannot be found" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

  • Why will my iPhone 4 not update past original iOS 4.3.5?

I've had my iPhone 4 since August 2011, opting for a new 24 month contract with UK's O2 network provider.
At the time of purchase, I downloaded the latest version of iTunes to my Windows 7 laptop and registered the phone. All was well and the phone worked fine but I was soon notified of a newer version of iOS.
The iOS install failed many times over the next two weeks so I gave up. There had been some stories in the media about a problem from Apple's end so I wasn't too concerned and plus didn't necessarily see the benefits of the update.
I tried again and again every month or so but continued to receive the same failure message (3194). To be honest I've coped without the need to update the iOS: I don't use my iPhone that much for PodCasts, Music etc. instead mainly using it as a phone (shoch horror), internet and e-mail. Since about January 2012 I've rarely connected the handset to my laptop/iTunes.
The lack of upgrade bugged me again this week and knowing I'm losing out on several key features of thel latest iOS I set about backing up the phone contents, resetting the handset to factory default and restoring prior to trying the update yet again.
    Well!.... It still doesn't work.
The error message I get is:  The iPhone "XYX" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3194)
The handset is standardstraight from the shop... not jailbroken and no tampering of any kind.
PS: Since restoring my backup all my audiobooks have gone. Can't see them on my phone or on iTunes?!?!?!?!
Samsung Galaxy for me next time I think!

That seems like some pretty severe/technical hoops I have to jump through to get my handset working the way it should have done straight out of box!?!
A number of those remedies suggest my laptop is at fault (which Idon't think it can be because this occurs on both my laptop and my desktop, and at a variety of locations).
Do you think someone at the genius bar be able to solve this if I book myself in and will they touch my handset seeing that it's over 12 months old?

  • IPod touch 4th gen will not connect to anything after update. Please help.

Ok, so I haven't updated my 4th gen ipod touch since I bought it, which was well over a year ago. Just recently, apps have started to force me to update to the newest iOS and many updates require it too, so I finally decided to update and get it over with. Well, I synced everything from my ipod and then updated. Well, to my horror after I came back I found out that even though I had CLEARLY synced my apps. They were gone on BOTH my ipod and my computer.
Not to say I was really ticked off or anything, but I had almost 15 GB or so of just apps on my 32 GB itouch. I read somewhere that I can go back and reinstall all my apps but that would be a PAIN. Turns out there aren't many others ways to go about doing it so I was left with little choice. Well, once again, I ran into the problem that absolutely nothing would connect on my ipod touch.
So, I have two problems actually:
    1. Is there anyway besides reinstalling apps for me to get back all the apps I had prior to updating my ipod? And in the future, how can I prevent itunes from deleting my apps when I clearly have them synced before updating?
    2. Why won't my ipod touch connect to anything wifi related? When I open the app store it just simply loads. And it will continue loading forever; I had it "loading" for about an hour until I decided to come here. Same goes with iCloud, facetime, Safari - just anything that has to do with connecting to my wifi.
Things I've done: I've restarted my ipod once already, I've reset my router as well, and I've also tried to disconnect from my router then reconnect. None of them have worked so far. Any help would be appreciated.

    - If synced media like apps and music are not in the iTunes library on the computer one which you update they will not be on the iPod after the update since the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media..
    This is discussed in
iOS 4: Updating your device to iOS 5 or later
    - For the wifi problem
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
