Update 17.1.1.A.0.402 - has ruined the keyboard.....jumping cursor

Now when I'm typing an email, the cursor continualy 'jumps' (from the 'body' of the email) to the address.
I was just composing a short note & it did this at-least 6 times - this is now awful.
I was happy with this tablet - it is now un-useable.......
SONY please rectify this ASAP.

Just re-installed SwiftKey & it behaves with this.
It seems only the Xparia keyboard is broken - well done SONY........

try doing an SMC reset, the following article tells how to do this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
also go into your keyboard options and make sure the settings are correct there.

Restoring the iPhone will reload its firmware.
Plug the iPhone into (the current version of) iTunes on your computer.
Let it sync.  Then choose "Restore" from the iPhone's summary page in iTunes.

  • Since updating to 10.6.8 my VPN has lost the connection after 30 minutes. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I updated to 10.6.8 and now my VPN connection is unstable. It has lost the connection to the host after 30 minutes on three different occasions. Before updating, I was able to be connected for hours with no interruption.
The error reads: "A configuration error occurred. Verify your settings and try reconnecting."
Adding to the problem is that the problem only corrects itself after I restart my computer.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix I should be looking for?
    Thanks!

I'm sorry I didn't post back earlier, I haven't been using my VPN lately. However, today, I did use it for hours and the problem persisted exactly as explained. I did some more searching and found the following solution on a similar thread. Worked like a charm:
the vpn daemon has to be restarted. after that it works perfectly.
    1. Open Terminal
    2. Unload the VPN daemon using the following command (for those who don't know, don't include the % sign when typing in Terminal):
    % sudo launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.racoon.plist
Note: After you type the command in, Terminal will give you a warning and ask you if you want to continue. Enter your password and continue.
    3. Reload the VPN daemon in Terminal (again, not typing the % sign) :
    % sudo launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.racoon.plist
That should do it! Thank you to everyone who tried to help me. Hopefully this helps others out there...
P.S. For those that are unfamiliar with terminal. When you type in the commands, that's not a hard return in there before the path /System/Library... etc. The line break is just because the path is too long to fit on that line.

  • Lumia Black Update has changed the keyboard layout

I updated to Lumia Black on my 920, and the keyboard layout changed - most importantly, the space bar is smaller, and the comma moved, which means all of my messages typed now, look, like, this,
Can you revert the whole update or change the keyboard? It's enough for me to abandon the phone (that and the fact the screen appears to have been heat damaged by the wireless charger)

This has resolved my issue! Thanks Yas..

  • The keybord of my Ipod 5th was fine until I update to ios 7, now i can not use the keyboard because it took like 15seconds to the letters to appear

They keyboard of my Ipod 5th was exellent until I update to ios7, now i cannot use the keyboard because it took like 15 seconds to the letters to appear

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Since updating my iPad Air to iOS 7.0.4 the keyboard only shows upper case.

I have restarted with no change. Anyone else have this and how do I stop it?
Going to try tonight to reinstall thru iTunes if it will let me. Maybe have to wait for next update? Hope not.
    Thanks.

So now I'll change it to "How come Apple won't do it, make the keyboard display the letters in whatever case they are in?" I think it should be that way. But some won't so how about including it as an option?
That I can't answer. However, you can let Apple know what you'd like to see here:

  • HT4623 Since updating to ios 7.0.6 it has caused the sounds on my iPad Air to either be distorted, none at all in headphones or when locking it almost sounds like a whining drill.  What am I meant to do with that got it pretty soon after it was released

It is completley strange (did the update yesterday evening 5/3), I realise this is likely to be a bug, the iPad Air has no dirt in the headphone or speakers, have checked.  It sounds just like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnL1OjDQcLM
I don't know however if they experience the same with the headphones, I do find that if I fiddle with the mono settings and left and right balance I could get the headphones to work perfectly again, on off with the sleep button and home button seemed to clear the silly noise on the stereo speakers.  I dont really want to keep messing around with the settings to get it to work, I would assume that the update for the SSL bug fix is the problem as when I applied this update the issue started, I had made NO other changes or install of apps and had only used it for browsing e-mail and music.
This should not happen and would like to know what Apple intend on doing to resolve this and when??

Try using Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

  • Software update on iMac. Trying to update software I get message "an error has occurred. the request has been timed out" how do i know if there are updates?

Am trying to update software through "Software Update" on my iMac (latest Lion operating system).
I keep getting message "An error has occurred. The request timed out"
How do I know if there are software dates available to down load.

Two things, bushmanernie (love the name)
First what version of Lion are you running and have you downloaded any Combo updates since you installed it.
Second; I see you only have 10.6.2 in your profile.   You might like to update it.
I don't have Lion myself but I'm guessing you don't have the very latest version.  You can check what should be available through the opening Apple support page > downloads.

  • I have time machine saving onto two usb drives.  The backup is 4.6TB.  Each drive is 6TB.  Why is time machine only updating one drive?  (The other has been the same for two weeks.)

I have time machine saving onto two usb drives.
The total size of the files being backed up is 4.6TB.
Each external USB drive is 6TB.   So I have 12 TB of space for Time Machine.
Why is time machine only updating one USB drive?  (One drive has been the same for two weeks.)
I have selected both drives in the Time Machine settings panel.
My understanding was that it would do a full backup, and then incremental backups of changed files, getting rid of old copies as needed, and alternate between the two drives.
But it looks like drive A has one complete backup, dated two weeks ago, and drive B is the only one getting action.
There is a red icon on drive one that says the drive needs 120GB more space to do a backup -- which is strange since the whole backup set is only 4.6TB in size, and the drive is 6TB in size...

  • SO SAD not to be getting the keyboard firmware update!

Since I first bought my macbook in July, 2006, my only long-term complaint has been the keyboard. I love the way it looks and feels, but it constantly 1) leaves the first letter off whatever I write when it first wakes or switches fields, and 2) refuses to 'ignore accidental trackpad input', no matter how many times I check and recheck that box! I constantly find myself suddenly typing in the middle of some other line than the one I should be writing in!
Today, when the keyboard firmware came out, I was excited, thinking that my issues might be solved at last. But, alas, the firmware is not for early versions like mine. Does anyone else have my issue, and do you think that that last one in particular might be something that could be addressed by AppleCare?

ios 5 Update New Features says that calendar now has a week view but after updating my iPhone 4 last weekend, I don't see any week view for iCal--just List, Day and Month as in the past. Is the weekly view available for iCal and if so, how do I access it?

  • Is it possible to uninstall the latest kitkat update ("improvement")?  If not, how can I fix the problems it has created?

The latest kit kat "improvements" have made using my phone much more frustrating.  How can one roll back this operating system update to the previous version?  If it is not possible to roll it back, how do I fix the following issues?
    1) The battery timing has been greatly diminished.
    2) Gmail isn't syncing properly.   At least 7 times since the update, upon opening gmail, I see lists of messages that are sometimes over a year old, and not my current ones.
    3)  The sound slider bar on the open screen has disappeared.  It now takes 4 steps in order to get into settings, and temporarily turn off the sound.  That is ridiculous when entering a meeting.  Not to mention that you have to repeat those steps upon the meeting's end.
    4)  Searching for a particular contact in people has become more complicated--much easier to select "m" when looking for Mary's info than to have to scroll through the very JITTERY and  way too touch sensitive sidebar all the way to the "M's" to even begin to search through the M's.  This is way too unwieldy.
    5) Emoticon symbol has replaced the symbol to move to the next line in text messaging keyboard.   I am not interested in childlike emoticons.  I am interested in writing a coherent professional message with appropriate spacing.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You cannot uninstall Kit Kat from your phone. BTW what kind of phone do you have??
